Jade McClaren is a thief with a mission … and a secret. Half human and missing her secret other half, Jade makes a living in New York, stealing magical items from bad guys. But when one wrong move attracts the attention of powerful enemies, she’ll be forced to team up with a relentless Fae Knight that is as much her new partner as he is her enemy. Now Jade must contend with vampires, demons, … Jade must contend with vampires, demons, witches, and more before what’s happening in post-Fae New York destroys the Fae Lords…and maybe the world itself.

How have I not already recommended this one already?! This series is a few books in now, with each book getting better than the last. Alicia Wolfe has a fan for life.
Full disclosure, I was lucky enough to get to mentor this author in the creation of this series, and I just love the whole concept and everything she has done with it.
Another urban fantasy with slow burn romance, this one with dragons! Basically, you have a magical thief with some dragon abilities facing off against a Fae agent. They start off as enemies…but there’s some chemistry between them, so it evolves. This is one of my favorite series of the last few years. I hope we can expect more to come!
I really enjoyed Dragon Shadow. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I loved Jade and Davril together. They make an excellent team. Jade is strong, loyal, good hearted and very spunky. I liked how even when things seemed impossible or it felt like no one was on her side that she’d give herself a pep talk and keep going. She wasn’t whiny or a quitter.
Davril is strong, loyal and determined. He’s also a by the book kind of guy, who can be a bit moody at times.
When Davril is paired up with Jade to reclaim a powerful artifact from evil forces he isn’t too happy but the more time he spends with Jade his walls start to come down. Jade brings out a side of Davril that has long been buried beneath an enormous amount of grief and pain. Too stubborn to admit their growing feelings for each other they remain friends and partners for now, maybe one day it will be more? Combining their strengths and knowledge they are a formidable team. A team that just might have a chance at saving not only the human world but the Fae world as well.
I really like the series, you need to read all three books and I’m looking forward to book four.
Overall 4 stars Performance 5 stars My review is based on the Audiobook. I enjoyed Dragon Shadow and think it was a good first in series in that the author introduces the characters and lays the groundwork for the series. The world building was great and I liked all of the different paranormal species and elements in the story. Jade tends to get whiney and a few places I found myself screaming at her to suck it up and put her big girl panties on LOL. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story and characters to life. I am definitely interested in seeing where the author takes this story.
Their magic had changed the world. 5 MAGIC SPELLS
I was being hunted by a Fae Knight. I told you, Jade. You’re coming with me. Damn it all, just what had I gotten myself into? What in the everlasting?!? I have to say that this is one fantastic book! I don’t often read urban fantasy, but I am BEYOND happy that I read this one! I was blown away by just how creative, unique, funny, the witty dialogue and exceptionally well-written this story is! It’s highly entertaining, captivating and completely drew me in with the great world building, the numerous different “species” from humans to Fae, shifters, witches and more! I absolutely loved just how creative ALL OF IT IS from the different magics, the amazing Lady Kay, the creatures, New York, the histories, it is ALL MAGICTACULAR!!! The multifaceted characters are super easy to connect with, to become them, to live the story with & as them, and I loved becoming Jade! This may be her debut book, but it sure doesn’t read like one! Alicia Wolfe is an exceptionally talented author and I CANNOT WAIT to read more!!
