A terrifically engaging novel that could almost be compared to Anna Sewell’s Black Beauty, with dragons instead of horses. Very well written, nothing is over or under done, descriptive passages put you in the scene without being tedious, pacing is perfect, hard to put down!
Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.
The book is absolutely brilliant, beautifully written,k and entirely original. The author’s use of language is rich and spellbinding. It is not for the squeamish or those not willing to surrender to fantasy for the sake of a whopping good tale.
This book had a very unique take on Dragons, unlike anything I’ve read. The characters, both human and dragon, had a lot of depth. My only complaint was that there was not another book to read!
Incredible story! This is the life of a dragon told from the dragon’s viewpoint. It is written with style and simplicity, so direct that you feel every dragon thought and emotion. Bravo!
Beautifully written! Loved the dragon! But it was so sad, at times unnecessarily so, I thought.
Best book I have read in a very long time. I strongly encourage anyone who enjoys superlative writing to read this. i have gifted this book to several of my friiends and older grandkids. No one has been disappointed.
The autobiography of a dragon. Very well done.
I found Dragon of ashes and stars to be very entertaining. I couldn’t pull myself away from the book, and when I tried to sleep I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen next. I highly recommend this book.
This book is well-written from beginning to end. Written in the first person from the point of view of the dragon, this story immediately pulls in the reader. One of the best books I’ve read this year.
Love anything about dragons that make them seem realistic and this book did just that. It brings you into the life of a dragon and that is just awesome to me.
I loved that it told the story from the point of view of a dragon.
At first I thought this book rather long. However, I found myself anxious to find out what happens next. So…And it was on audible and the narrator was very good. Great for listening on snowy days.
Insipid.
The best sci-fi I have read in 2 years. Ready to read it again. It was wonderful!
What a great read. Nice to see a dragon from the other side for a change. Definitely plan on re-reading this one.
I really liked reading the dragon’s point of view. I though the book was a very original look at the genera of dragons
I really enjoyed this book, hard to put down.
I loved loved loved this book. It is written as though the Dragon is telling the story. Fascinating concept and lots of fun.
I found this book to be unique in the fact of how it was from the dragon’s point of view and how he perceived the world and the humans he found within them.
As with all my reviews, I do not like to tell you the story or give any of the story’s arc away. That takes the fun out of if for you. But I will tell you what I did find about this story that I loved.
From the very beginning, I was intrigued with the dragon and how he perceived himself. As his world got larger his perceptions changed. I cared what happened to this dragon right away and throughout the whole book. Each and every experience shaped him and changed him profoundly. Some positively and others negatively. But this is true even for us and our everyday lives. Yet, that is what makes this fantasy so real and made this dragon so very real. The descriptions of the environment, emotions, living conditions, all of it brings you right into the story. I was very much a part of it and not an outsider looking in.
I know I could not put this book down and even when I did I could not stop thinking about it. Once again I have a new author to follow and look forward to more of her books. I enjoyed this novel. It was refreshing to have the story all in one book instead of a series.
Very enjoyable, a fantasy version of Black Beauty but with a lot of originality in the telling
