What is a girl to do when it’s been foretold she will find a dragon.? Live a happy life and keep your eyes open.
Ryoden has gone back to his lands. He’s looking for something special that his brother hid from him. (A dragon’s talon given to him by his grandfather)
Annita finds Ryoden in one of the caves underneath hr family’s land. She’s instantly enraptured with the thought of him in dragon form. When she fully sees him she’s a little shocked but not scared. Ryoden doesn’t know what to make of all of this.
What they both realize is the chemistry between them. The longing to be with one another, forever.
The prophecy doesn’t give us much in the way of information. It does say that Annita becoming Royden’s mate helps strengthen the Kings for what is coming at them.
First of all, this book gave me goosebumps with all this greek background! As a Greek i felt extremely happy with the use of greek words and phrases like “yaya” and “γλυκια μου”. Overall, mentioning all these greek characters and locations made the book even more appealing to me. As for Annita and Royden they may met each other unexpectedly but their affection and love were strong since the beginning. They are the cutest couple ever! Prepare to experience a romance in the beautiful Greek island of Crete…you will enjoy this book!
Dragon Lost has a special place in my heart because it takes place on the beautiful and mystical island of Crete.
Annita was told years before that she would find a dragon. Little did she ever guess it would be an actual dragon.
Royden returns to his homeland to search for a treasure his brother hid from him decades before, only to find a more precious treasure.
“None of us really fit in anywhere. We pretend until we find another person that makes us feel as if we fit in. If we’re lucky, we find more than one, but some people don’t even get that.”
This series is a must read!!
A short story by Donna Grant telling the tale of Royden and Annita. The is a complete story that only makes a few references to Donna’s Dark World Series, involving the Dragon Kings. Royden is a Dragon King, who meets Annita when he returns to the place he was born. This is a quick, easy read, without much of the author’s usual detailed writing. It reads well as a stand-alone story. I received this book from the author as an ARC, and this is my true and honest review.
Annita and Royden’s relationship happened fast, but when you know you’ve met the one…well, you just know:) Annita was a strong and capable lead, and Royden a charming hero, with a few understandable reservations, and I enjoyed how Grant brought these two together. I found the story to be a romantically sweet tidbit in the Dragon King universe and can’t wait to see who’s up next!
I received an advance reader copy from the author and this is my honest review.
This is book 16.5 in the Dark Kings series and it absolutely must be read in order. There is a much bigger story ARC that these books have been building since the first one and if you don’t read them in order, you may be confused! In this one we get Royden and Annita’s story. Royden goes to where grew up in the hopes of finding something that his brother hid from him. He figures it will be a quick trip there and back, but as he should have known. Nothing is ever what it is supposed to be. Annita has known since she was a child that it was foretold that she would meet a dragon. She thinks it’s all a misunderstanding until she is swimming in one of the caves surrounding her home and comes across Royden right before he shifts. And knows that she has not only met her destiny but that her life will change as she knows it.
I really liked this one although it didn’t really seem to be a part of the bigger ARC. It seemed more sweet and lovey than I am used to. Annita has a lot that she has to decide in a short time and it makes your heart hurt for her. Royden thinks he has to give her up in order for her to have happiness and in turn gives up what could make him happy. This one was definitely a short and sweet glimpse into their world but well worth a read!
I absolutely love this book. We get to meet another Dragon and their Mate. Also it is another piece of the puzzle for the Kings with their war with the Others. Although, Royden and Annita’s story ended way to fast, it is definitely worth the purchase.
I love Donna Grant and her Dragon Kings.
I’m not much of a novella reader, only because most of the time I find the stories feel rushed. Not so with this latest installment of this captivating world of magic that Donna Grant has created.
I could only wish to be as brave as Annita as she gazed upon something completely impossible.
Royden is as yummy as the rest of the Dragon Kings. Though he’s still a bit of a mystery to me. I had a bit of trouble connecting with him.
But I did enjoy all the push and pull and discovering that this latest couple went through. There’s romance, a bit of steam and a little magic between the covers of this book.
Dragon Lost is more a recap/history lesson in the world of the dark Kings. So if you haven’t visited with any of Donna’s dragon’s, this is a good place to start.
Thank you Donna for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Dont skip this book!
Royden is in Greece looking for something of his that was hidden long ago by his brother. While in the cave a woman enters.
Annita’s family has lived on an isle in Greece for centuries. Her favorite part is swimming into a set of caverns.
When she was thirteen she vaguely overheard her great aunt tell about a prophecy involving her. Unbeknownst to her it is about to come true.
The way these two interact with each other is heartwarming. A new tidbit of information is also shared. It is about why the humans were initially brought to this realm.
This book might have been short but it is a great addition to this series!
I recieved an arc copy and I choose to leave my honest review to help other readers.
*I love Annita’s spunk and bluntness
*how they each know to be honest and open with each other
*they are fated to be together.. ment to be
• Annita help heal his soul.. the pain of losing his family and dragons
• She is another stronge link to strengthen the group for the upcoming battle
Royden.. Would have liked to read more about them.. felt the story was to short but that is because I loved it and didn’t want it to end
*Received and ARC for an honest review* I absolutely love Donna’s Dark world. It’s very intricate, unique, and spell binding. It draws a reader in with all the different layers it has to it. Each time Donna introduces a new King to the mix, I find myself eager to see who his mate will be, to watch their characters develop and evolve, as well as to see how the story progresses weather it be a full length novel or a novella. Ryoden and Annita’s story brings us one step closer to the resolution of the Kings story. From the very first moment Ryoden and Annita met in the caves, I loved their connection and I really liked Annita’s character. The story was faced paced but much too short, I would have loved more of the pair of them, but definitely a good read.
This novella is a really quick read. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with coming war, we will see how this book all fits in the end. It is Royden’s love story though. The descriptions of Crete make me want to move there and never leave. Annita at times reminded me of a child when she would ask a million questions and that was hard to read at some points because a child’s voice was what came to mind when I read certain parts. This is a quick read to add to the Dragon King story.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
*I also bought a copy of this book*
Dragon Lost is a novella in the Dragon Kings series about Annita and Royden. Annita lives on the isle of Crete and Royden has gone back to his homeland searching for something his brother hid from him. While swimming in her favorite cave, Annita comes across Royden in dragon form.
There is a prophecy that Annit’s aunt told her parents about Annita meeting a dragon one day and doing great things, so when Annita sees this amazing dragon she does not know if she is dreaming or if this is the prophecy come true. Annita and Royden feel this immediate connection and it does not take long for Royden to realize that Annita is his mate. Annita has to make a tough decision to give up her close-knit family for the love of a lifetime. This is a sweet love story between the two of them, I just wish it was not so short.
I received this novella as an ARC from the author in lieu of my honest opinion. I completely enjoyed this story of Annita and Royden. Anxious to see how they play a part in the coming books.
Prophesies, destinies, romance and a hot dragon king. What more could you ask for?
This is a fun novella starring Annita, a smart, sassy, independent woman who is foretold to find a dragon. A woman whose confidence, quirkiness and beauty has Royden’s full attention from the moment she walks into his cave. How much does she know? Is she a threat or part of the dragon king’s enemies? Can Royden resist her charms while he gets his answers?
Their conversations had me laughing. Their blossoming friendship had me sighing. Their future……? You’ll have to read yourself to find out.
I love the way Donna Grant weaves a tale. She is a master storyteller!
I enjoyed this so much. It’s my first book by this author and now I am hooked on this series. The attraction between Annita and Royden is instant and explosive and I swear I could feel the sparks coming off the page. It’s short, sweet, and utterly enticing.
When Royden returns home to look for a lost family heirloom, he doesn’t expect to find a female in the cave where the treasure is hidden. He does his best to scare her off… But he’s not sure he can stay away from her. Could she be his mate?
Annita isn’t sure why there is a strange man hiding in her cave. Everything about him appeals to her, although he seems skittish for some reason. And she could have sworn she saw a dragon…but that’s not possible, right?
A fun and quick read. I loved Royden and Annita. This book is part of the Dragon King series but it can be read as a stand-alone.
I received a copy of this book from the author via Bookfunnel. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
Dragon Lost is the next story in Donna Grant’s Dragon Kings series. Dragon Lost is the story of Royden (King of the Beige Dragons) and his soulmate Annita. Annita is a seer who it has been foretold that she would meet a dragon. And she does. She meets Royden while swimming in a cave around her family’s property. Royden is there to find something that his brother hid in the caves before the dragons were sent to another realm. Royden does not find the item, but he does find Annita. This is another great story in the Dragon Kings series. Though it could be read as a stand-alone (the background of the Dragon Kings is given to catch the reader as to what has happened in the books leading up to this one), it is best read as part of the Dragon King series.
I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
The novella’s between each Kings’ book are such an amazing addition to the series. They are quick reads to hold you over, but they do provide valuable clues to the over all story. When you meet the one you will spend the rest of your life with, you just know. That proved to be true for Annita and Royden, even if it took them a bit to figure that out. His story broke her heart, and she used that to heal his. Fate and destiny become one. An amazing romance with a HEA, at least for now. So much more is yet to come. I received an advanced copy and this is my voluntary opinion.
