NOT JUST BLOWING SMOKE!!!
I have say this is one thrilling, page turning dynamo that delivers all the action, lies, betrayal, hatred, fury, deceit, adventure and excitement that really pulls you in deep. The scenes are graphic and detailed with such realism it really makes the storyline pop. Twists, turns and a few close calls keep the suspense, danger and tension riding high as the story unfolds. The characters are complex, well developed and so realistic you feel like you can reach out and touch them. Their personalities are unique with qualities that balance out as well as they play off one another perfectly. You have a whirlwind of emotions to sort through as well as all the heart pounding, nerve racking, spine tingling, bitter taste of lost one’s in its wake. Jones did an incredible job bringing this read together beautifully. Excellent job Jones, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
This is my very first time ever reading anything from this author and let me tell you that it’s definitely not going to be my last. This fascinating and intriguing read filled with plenty of action, suspense, betrayal, and of course steamy romance. But that’s not all and since I’m not one to give spoilers you’ll just have to check it out for yourself to see what I’m talking about. Overall enjoyable and entertaining and I’m so looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Dragon Lore and Love: Isis and Osiris is a fantastic book that blends the myth and magic of dragons with the legends of the Egyptian gods.
It starts with Nut and Geb fighting a war against demons, and Nut having to leave to look after their two twin daughters, leaving Geb behind. Fast forward to current times and Isis is heavily pregnant with Osiris’ baby. Unfortunately, they are about to be betrayed again and what should be the happiest time of their lives turns into the worst.
This was a story that almost read itself! The pages just kept on turning and there was no way I was escaping from the story. Sometimes, they end nicely on a chapter so you can put it down. Not this one. At the end of every chapter was something to make me continue reading.
This was an emotional book that had my eyes filling up on more than one occasion. The only reason this annoyed me is because it blurred the words I so desperately wanted to see.
I loved this story and although it appears it is a standalone, I would love it to become a duology, with Nephthys having her own story. There is so much to the Moon Dragon that I want to know!
In case you haven’t realised, I thoroughly enjoyed every word of this book and highly recommend it.
I received an advance review copy for free through BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This story absolutely blew me away. Once again, great work from this author. I read her previous dragon shifter romance and loved it, and while I still think maybe that one is my favorite, this one is much more in-depth and well developed.
It is not only a beautiful love story, but a very touching story between the protagonist and her twin.
There were so many twists I didn’t see coming at all. Especially considering the protagonist loses the love of her life only to get him right back again… But only kind of. And it has a remarkably happy ending. This is a book I will definitely read again.
Loved the twist of the Egyptian gods and goddesses as dragons in this series. This unique world and the characters within it are wonderfully written and keep you immersed. The trials faced, the twists and turns, and suspense make for a novel you can’t put down. Looking forward to reading more from N.D. Jones.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WOW
I greatly enjoyed the love story of Isis and Osiris. This is a wonderful story full of love and loss, friendship and betrayal, good and evil. I loved the characters. Isis, particularly, is so strong. Even after suffering great tragedy, she does not give up, and her mother and sister were great secondary characters, too. I highly recommend this story.
I received a complimentary ARC of this story from the author. This is my honest, voluntary review.
I love all things dragon. N.D. Jones has created a unique world with dragons and what they have to do to survive. Her character development and world building are spot on. From the first page you are drawn into this world and experience it as they do. This story has it all — romance, Egyptian mythology, action, adventure, betrayal, lies, hope, love, etc. It is truly exceptionally well written and a page turner. I fell in love with the characters and world and need to know more about them. Am anxiously waiting N.D. Jones’ next book. I highly recommend this story. Received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is definitely a new twist on dragon lore. The author has done a wonderful job of merging Egyptian myth into PNR. I love that the story is about all the dragons, the book is well thought out and captivating from cover to cover. I’d even like to revisit this world again just to catch up with all the characters.
N.D. Jones’s story is a well crafted tale of determination and love, while taking a different approached to Egyptian Gods. Isis is such a strong female character who’s love not only for O, but her family is engaging and exciting.
The added elements of shapeshifters and the Demon King are new and intriguing. What most interested me is that while displaced from their home , the characters cling to the culture of the Dragonkind. It is a wonderful story a must read for anyone who loves a strong romance, female characters who aren’t shrinking damsels and vivid imaginative story.
A must read!
Dragon Lore and Love, by ND Jones, is a fascinating take on dragons and their cultures and history and relationships to other beings of legend. The book ties in Egyptian mythos but with a unique twist all the author’s own. Interestingly to me, the story has very little to do with humans. There is only passing reference to how the dragons interact, do business, or parlay with human beings. The characters are well-drawn and complex. The emotions Ms Jones evokes in the course of the story are varied; from humorous to tragic, sexy to touching. I very much enjoyed this story and hope Ms Jones writes more in this world she has created. There were many interesting characters who deserve to have their stories told as well.
