Great start to a new series, can’t wait for more!
Loved, loved, loved this story about a rabbit shifter, Blythe, who has returned to Mystic Bay to settle her grandmother’s estate and Neil Drake, a dragon shifter, who has been recovering from an injury sustained in the Marines. Neil has been forbidden from flying for almost 10 years as retribution for causing the death of a cousin. He is an unusual dragon as he breathes ice instead of fire. This will come in handy as you will see.
The first real sign of trouble comes as a man who has frequently visited Blythe’s grandmother’s house arrives looking for her and ends up taking potshots at her rabbit. Neil is understandably incensed (guns are not even allowed in Mystic Bay) and takes the man down. Then there is an explosion…
So begins a story that will include numerous bad guys and confessions of unrequited love, from both Neil and Blythe. But really, a dragon and a rabbit? Hunter and prey? Sometimes love and destiny just don’t care about little things like that.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the next book. Great story and a great start to the series. I voluntarily reviewed this advance copy
Blythe, a rabbit shifter originally from Mystic Bay, is a photographer and was asked by the paranormal police SPAR to take some photos of a suspect. It was supposed to be easy and not dangerous, but now she is on a hit list. Neil, who admired her from afar for many years, steps in to help her when he sees an attack. Due to Mystic Bay’s grapevine they need to get engaged. But can Neil, a dragon, and Blythe, a rabbit, really be fated?
Like so many stories of Mystic Bay, this story is fun, entertaining, but also contains the thrill of a mystery.
Highly entertaining and fun.
A new to me author that did not disappoint. The story and the characters were wonderful. I can not wait to read more.

Small never means weak! Lots of characters introduced. Blythe is a sassy rabbit who while petite is brave & fierce enough to stand up to everyone! Neil, dragon whose GrandPa kept him from shifting for 10 years as punishment, has been in love with Blythe since she was 14. Blythe has noticed Neil, she didn’t feel she was good enough for him. There are oncompetent bad guys after Blythe and her business partner, Molly who always seem able to stay in the game. Dr Felix Mason is watching over Molly. She is attracted, but worried about age difference. The mystery and adventure is riveting. The action is wild. This is an excellent start to a wide reaching potential tragedy. Can Neil focus enough to get the job done? Can Blythe lighten up from the job and give Neil a chance? Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Let the mate hunt begin
I couldn’t put down this little hop back to Mystic Bay once I started to read. The author has a true talent at being able to transport us to another world between the pages of her books. This book is the perfect beginning to an offshoot series, with a new enemy and so many twists and turns in the nightmare organization. I love the characters and the way she layered our old favorites with shiny new faces, and the story is full of excitement and danger and a fated love that will only get better with time. There are so many possible love connections to come that I can’t wait to see who she sends our way next.
What a read by this author! Neil has loved Blyth for ages and now he must act to save her. A must-read in this new series. I can’t wait for the next book! I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
Neil watched his neighbor head out for a walk then a strange man appears and knocks on her door.
Dragon shifter Neil has had his eye on Bunny shifter Blythe for a while and as he sat there he watched her exit her house and head towards the forest that separates them from the meadow. He imagines her taking off her clothes before shifting but then he hears a vehicle approaching and watches as a man gets out knocks on Blythe’;s front door then opens the door and with a bunch of flowers in hand goes into the house. When he comes out he changes his footwear then takes a shotgun and heads off in same direction that Blythe had gone. Neil knows he needs to follow but then hears shots and rushes to disarm the man but as Neil checks for Blythe he runs off and gets to his vehicle. Neil follows and as the vehicle disappears Blythe’s home explodes into flame which he puts out with a stream of his frost dragon power. When he walks into his home Blythe is there talking on the phone and naked.

This talented author has written another wonderful dragon shifter romance that takes the reader to an old favorite place “Mystic Bay” & I absolutely enjoyed reading it. The plot is suspenseful, well-written & intriguing with good scene descriptions & world building. The well-developed characters have unique personalities with good chemistry between them which ultimately allows them to complement each other.
There is: a medically discharged male marine & ice breathing dragon shifter (Neil) has returned home after being injured and discovers his mate (a female photographer & bunny shifter, Blythe), a paranormal policing agency (SPAR), a controlling great-grandfather (Duncan), law enforcement, family issues, various kinds of shifters, intrigue, twists & turns, suspense, drama, action, adventure, humor, danger, threats, devious plans, arson, villainous enemies, confrontations, attacks, attractions, verbal disagreements, defiance, manipulations, determination, memories, courtship, devious plans, a unexpected surprise, contentment, love, steamy scenes & a wonderful, satisfying conclusion. I really would recommend this series to people who enjoy reading this genre. I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed.
