A house full of hot, shifter ex-cons and me. What could go possibly wrong?Of course I’d dealt with difficult parolees before. I’m a professional, a therapist and everyone is entitled treatment.Even dragons…on a reality show…. ones capable of terrible crimes. Throw in a cop hellbent on finding justice for his slain partner, I might be slightly out of my element. But that’s nothing compared to the … element.
But that’s nothing compared to the twist I never saw coming, one that gives me double trouble in an already dangerous game.
Now it’s too late to back down and everything is compromised;
My ethics, my career, my heart…
And possibly my life.

Dragon House Reality Show by Mia Taylor is an entertaining book about a dragon ex-con involved in a reality TV show. In this book, a psychologist named Maria agrees to counsel an ex-con named Andrew who is released on early parole because he agreed to live in a halfway house and be involved in a reality TV show. This book has very interesting characters who are portrayed in very unique story that I really enjoyed reading. I especially enjoyed the ending. Dragon House Reality Show is an entertaining and wonderfully fun read.
A really different shifter romance.
This is a rather different idea for a reality show as it combines ex-cons who are also dragon shifters trying to straighten their lives out after being paroled from prison early if they agree to be on the show. Maria is a therapist who sees the ex-con’s as part of her regular practice and gets involved because of a new client. She doesn’t know if she agrees with the idea of putting the parolees in this type of setting but she agrees to see her new client, Andrew, not knowing he is a shifter. But not everything is as it seems when she starts thinking Andrew might have multiple personalities…

I received a free copy of this book and i am voluntarily leaving a review. The book was great from the first page to the last. I will be reading more from this author.
I enjoyed reading this story as it is filled with the Intense Intrigue of the twists and turns involving parolees being featured in a reality show. Complications arise when there’s twins switching places with each other that causes untold complications as one twin happens to be a fated mate while the other twin is on a mission to seek vengeance for being betrayed by his partner in crime. To add to the intrigue, there’s the police detective who is also unethically seeking revenge for the murder of his partner during this crime. I am looking forward to reading Book 2 in this series to find out what happens next.
A short read, that has a twist. We have Maria who is a psychologist. She treats the rich and some prison inmates. Andrew has been in prison for years and is being released early to be on a reality show. Luke is a detective who is obsessed with finding Andrew’s partner, because he had killed his. Then we have Alex. Maria is being torn between all of these men. What will she do? Who will she help? Who can she trust?

Maria is a psychologist and her recent patient Andrew is released from prison for a realty show. By accepting him as a patient she agrees to be part of the show. Luke is a cop and he is after revenge for his partner’s death. Maria new patient is the guy that killed his partner and Luke is determined to make him pay even if he has to use Maria to get what he wants. Andrew has no intention of doing the show or therapy and blackmails his twin brother Alex to take his place. When Alex shows up for the first counseling session he recognizes Maria as his mate. Will Alex be able to keep up the pretense when his mate in in front of him? Can Luke let go of his revenge? Will Andrew end up back in jail?

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Dragon House Reality Show by Mia Taylor reads as stand alone, but could be an opening salvo. I enjoyed the read, but reality tv is not my thing and this book is so well written that it reads like a tv show! This read is packed with drama and has a mild love scene. The characters are gritty and flawed which only makes them that much more relatable. The storyline was well thought out and extremely entertaining.
This honest and voluntary review was made possible by reading a copy through Booksprout.
A great story with enough twists and turns and bumps in the road to keep you reading and turning pages. You have lies, deceit, suspense, drama, very emotional situations, blackmail and so much more. A very diverse group of people. No spoilers. I received a review copy from booksprout and voluntarily review it.
Jamie tries to interest his agent in a new reality show that involves a halfway house, ex-cons, a sexy psychologist and the parole officers. But Cypress really wants nothing to do with that genre. He doesn’t want to produce another reality TV show even if it does feature dragons. He’s not even sure how dragons even get locked up to begin with! Con Lair is the reality show featuring dragon shifter convicts out on parole. The Scottsdale Police Department agreed to it and the prison system wants some good press to come out of it, showing prisoners in a humane light.
Psychologist Maria Margolis agrees to be part of the show and agrees to counsel Andrew Blaise whose partner killed a cop’s partner. Andrew was the one who went to prison for 14 years as a result, and he wants revenge on his partner who got away. Detective Luke Rivers, of the Phoenix Police Department Robbery Homicide division, wants revenge for his own partner’s murder and expects to unethically use Maria in his plans to get justice for Officer Sam Curry.
Alex is Andrew’s twin brother who always tried to help his twin and keep him out of trouble. When Andrew doesn’t want to go through the therapy sessions with Maria, he blackmails his twin, Alex, into going in his place. Alex recognizes Maria as his mate! Will they pursue the attraction, or is Maria prevented from a relationship with her “patient” – even though he is not the man she thinks she is counseling? Things are getting very complicated as each player in this drama seems to have his own hidden agenda!
This is an interesting, complicated story line that should catch the reader’s attention from the start. There are quite a few characters brought into the story line, each able to take the story off in another direction depending on their actions. Although it’s very likely something will go very wrong, it’s not clear exactly who will come out on top! Grab your copy and enjoy the mystery!

The good news is this a fast read. The bad news is that is a highly flawed read and that, unfortunately, makes it a bad read.
To begin with, most of the characters are unpleasant. From the producers, who appear only in the beginning, are reprehensible stereotypes of Hollywood folk. Their history is never explained. Most of the male characters are unpleasant, from a nearly psychotic, stalker, philandering detective to a criminal on parole who clearly hasn’t seen the error of his ways, there really is nothing to redeem them. This should make the love interest all the more appealing. However, as he doesn’t pop up until around half the way through, when I was completely soured on the men in this fictional universe.
With the exception of the heroine, all the female characters are a bundle of annoying behaviors that, again, not explained.
The writing isn’t top shelf. It is barely middle shelf. Much of it is cliché. In fact, there is the incredibly amateurish scene where the female character looks in the mirror in order for her to be described. And I swear, if I had to hear about her large ‘bosom’ (and yes, this word is used often) one more time, I was going to scream! But at least she was described! The hero and the criminal? We know they were tall, had broad shoulders and jade eyes. That’s it.
There are also gaping plot holes. The criminal, Andrew, was involved in a felony crime in which two killings occurred. Normally, this would result in a first degree murder charge. It didn’t. We never find out why. Logically, he would have at least turned state’s evidence to avoid a life sentence. But again, never ever covered. The philandering cop’s comeuppance occurs off screen and is basically one sentence. This is not fulfilling.
As can be seen in the title, these are dragon shifters. But the most interesting scene, the dragon shift and flight? Never happens. It is brushed over.
There is exactly one short smexy scene and it is short and nothing to write home about. It took less than two pages and included at least one impossible position that even a sideshow contortionist would find uncomfortable.
The entire premise of it being a reality show is wasted. The show is never front and center. Instead, the very interesting concept is just used for a bizarre conspiracy to trap another criminal.
The title of the show, Con Lair, would have been a far better title for the book, instead of the mouthful that we have.
All in all, if you need something to numb you and kill a few hours, this book is passable. Otherwise, it is a hard pass.
Two stars out of five. And that’s being way generous.

How do you know what to do when your life is turned around and nothing is anything as it seems? How can you differiate what is right or wrong when white looks black and you can no longer tell which way is up? That is what the characters in this book faced, with different consequences resulting from the different choices that each of them made.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a story of a reality show about imprisoned Dragon shifters called .com lair . Psychologist Maria Margolis finds that she is caught up in stuff that has her going against her profession and having to make some hard choices . Awesome story lots of twist.
Truthfully I’m not for sure how I feel about this book when I started it I kind of thought reality show story dragons should be interesting. The book is not badly written but I guess I expected something more along the lines of Ex-con in Dragon City or Dragon Ho it was not.
The characters of Luke the detective trying to catch a cop killer, Dr. Maria psychotherapist to the rich and poor, Alex the ex-con Dragon trying to get his hands on the loot from the robbery get a surprise appearance by someone I’m not going to name and this review.
I will say if you are looking at the book expecting it to be really about dragons switching forms this book is not it. It is more about shifters living in society and making sure the human world doesn’t know about. The book of held my interest from beginning to end overall I enjoyed it when it;s all said and done.

I enjoyed reading this book , it has a good storyline. This book is entertaining, is filled with action and intrigue. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
A psychologist, a cop, and the reality show become merged with a past crime in this less than ethical HEA. Only Mia Taylor can make the duplicity of the complicated main characters so enjoyable. Each of them must make a choice that will affect the rest of their lives.
