Captain, treasure hunter, skeptic—Astra is a lot of things.Or at least she used to be. Can she still call herself a captain after her ship wrecks? Is she a treasure hunter if the relic she’s been hired to find isn’t real? No matter what happens, she’s still a skeptic.Unless magic is real. One thing she’s definitely not—she’s not the kind of girl who’s saving her v-card.Try telling that to the guys … v-card.
Try telling that to the guys binding her to a rock as a “chaste” sacrifice. Sadly, no one listens to what you have to say when there’s a gag in your mouth.
All Astra knows for certain is that things can’t get any worse.
Until a make-believe scaled monster swoops down out of the sky. Until he turns into a ripped AF, very naked, human man who claims her as his mate.

I loved this collaboration by Keira Blackwood and Eva Knight! The romance totally pulled me in, and I adored this new world they’ve created, with these dragon guardian brothers (sequel bait that I am totally signing on for). There were some hilarious moments, too, which I’ve come to expect from this duo. I was not disappointed. I recommend this to all lovers of original, steamy, and action-packed paranormal romance.
Barriers broken by fate
You are going to enjoy this quick read. The author really brought an intensity that doesn’t let up until the end, but then the teaser for the next book starts it up all over again. I liked the way the characters connected and the way the couple found their HEA, but there was not a complete resolution of the story. I am looking forward to the next book.
DRAGON GUARDIAN OF LAND is the first book in the Alphas & Alchemy: Elemental Shifters series. Though each will be a complete story of one couple and their road to happily-ever-after, these will need to be read in the order of release.
Shifters, dragons, magic… her father believes they are real. His journal will lead them to an island where he will hunt for relics, until pirates board and a storm destroys the ship.
This was a wonderful fantasy come to life and perfectly paced to race the mind and the heart. I absolutely fell in love with all of the characters and the land. I can’t wait to see who will be the next to meet and mate!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Dragon Guardian of Land by Keira Blackwood and Eva Knight is the first book in their Alphas and Alchemy: Elemental Shifters series. I really enjoyed this series intro. The characters are well written giving that “we’ve met before” feeling. There are strong primary (Celedon and Astra) characters and an amazing amount of secondary characters that seem to clamor for your attention. A different twist on the usual shifter stories, you get dragons, wolves and other shifters that live in the land that time forgot with magic that runs rampant. You get a brief glimpse of one of Celedon’s brothers and, honestly, I can’t wait to read about them all! And don’t even get me started on Polly! There is lots of action, adventure and sweet heat. (Mature Readers Only Please) A great anytime read that will have you craving more.

The first book in the Alphas & Alchemy: Elemental Shifters series and I want to read the next book. Astra and Celedon’s story had me smiling at somethings as I read. I enjoyed reading this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very thrilling novel full of suspense, action and hot shifters. Not to be missed! I definitely will be reading more of the author!
This was really funny and Astra had my deepest sympathy for everything falling apart around her. On board her ship, Astra’s seasick diver, Polly, turns green and tosses her stomach contents over the side for the fourth time. This is Astra’s first mission with her father in the middle of the ocean looking for an island she doesn’t believe exists. Her ship “Keepin’ it Reel”, her pride and joy, is attacked by pirates and wrecks and she isn’t sure if anyone survived. She had been on a mission as a treasure hunter – the money was good but the thrill of finding a treasure was what made it completely worthwhile for her — but since the Staff of Terra relic she was hired to find probably isn’t real, she can’t claim to actually be a treasure hunter. But when she is captured, tied to a rock, and offered as a “chaste” virgin sacrifice, she thinks they have gone too far! She is definitely not what they think! The final indignity is to know with certainty that the magical world is not real either — as it flies down and grabs her as its mate.
I loved the tone and story line of this book. There is nothing better for me than to find a book that keeps me laughing throughout. The characters are perfect and anticipating what’s going to happen next is half the fun! Grab your copy and enjoy Astra’s adventure!
I really enjoyed reading this book , it is filled with adventure and is action packed. The chemistry and interaction between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This is a entertaining shifter romance with a well-paced, interesting plot with a unusual twist that quickly grabs the reader’s attention. The characters are quite well-developed with good chemistry & display realistic emotions.
There is: a human female (Astra) after a series of mishaps is taken captive & bound to a rock as a sacrifice then a dragon (Celedon) arrives with a different sacrifice in mind, drama, suspense, intrigue, twists & turns, pirates, various kinds of shifters, mates, adventure, action, magic, mystery, danger, threats, deceit, some violence, conflict, manipulations, compromises, some steam, contentment & a very interesting epilogue.
an interesting twist on shifter romance, dragon shifters who protect a hidden land, a human who washes up on their shore. now what to do with her.
great characters, who pull you right into the world that the author weaves.

An explorer by heart Astra is on a mission with her father in the middle of the ocean looking for an island that doesnt exist. Pirates, shipwrecked, and strange being that turn into animals, she has signed up for more adventure than she thought. Magic now surrounds her but the only magic she cares about is the dragon that captured her heart. An island of magic, the story is consuming I read straight through, I could not put down, continual action, adventure and great moments of freedom while flying. So many characters with different personalities that you can never quite get the feel if they are good or bad. I so cant wait to read more, this isnt a cliffhanger but there are still questions out there that need to be answered.

A wonderful start to a new series by one of my favourite authors
Astra is finally getting to spend some time with her father as she and their diver Polly search with him for a lost relic. Her father believes in dragons and magic and all things mythical and he believes there is a lost island. When pirates attack their ship and then a storm wrecks it They are swept onto the shores of a mystical hidden island Their Astra will meet Celedon a dragon who sweeps in to save her when she is about to be sacrificed as a virgin (she isn’t one but they won’t listen) Can she really believe that he is a dragon and that magic is real Looking forward to more great stories in this series about Celedon’s Brothers maybe one of them is Polly’s mate
Action packed, emotionally thrilling, engaging adventure filled with danger, mystery, magic and heart racing twists….. a edge of your seat read from beginning to end. Great reading!
Who is Astra? What is she? Who are her father and Polly? What are they searching for? What happens as a storm is brewing up? Who is Celedon? Who are Ruarc, Rhys, and Kaeletis? Who is Aldrych? What is going on where they live that we’re treated to in this read? What do we find as far as others in the location where Astra, her father, and Polly end up? Who is Herrick? I did not care for him. Read this story to find out why and what happens.

This was a enjoyable and entertaining read. But in some ways I’m not really sure how I feel about this story. I liked the chemistry between Astra and Celedon. Astra was sassy and defiant which I like but poor Celedon was so clueless. Overall a good read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Celedon rules over the wolf tribe on a magical island. Astra is captaining a boat for an artifact expedition her father wishes to pursue. Overtaken by pirates the ship sinks leaving them list on the mysterious island. This story is very action pack as internal conflicts arise. The characters are ok but not outstanding.

Captain, treasure hunter, skeptic—Astra is a lot of things. Or at least she used to be. Can she still call herself a captain after her ship wrecks? Is she a treasure hunter if the relic she’s been hired to find isn’t real? No matter what happens, she’s still a skeptic. Unless magic is real. This was quite good. Enjoyed it.

I’m not sure how I feel about this story. It was good but I felt a little let down at the end. There’s lots of plot, a little sex and some action. A few editing issues but not bad. He’s clueless in some ways, she’s defiant but they both become aware of their feelings and have a hea. Most people probably wouldn’t feel bad about the unresolved issue but it was the H’s issue and should have been resolved with him. I’m sure it will continue in future books. So even though I was disappointed I still give it a 4. I would recommend this book. It is a quick read of 117pgs.
