The good news: my four guardians are more than just a brood of cocky dragons. I was drawn to this island to find them … my mates. The sucky news: an ancient evil has marked me as its vessel, but I suppose one girl can’t have all the luck, right?I was warned that second term would be a challenge, but nothing could have prepared me for this. As if things aren’t already hard enough, one innocent … enough, one innocent slipup threatens to cost me big time.
Every day, it gets harder to tell friend from foe. Especially with more than one enemy who wants to make sure I lose everything.
Thing is, no one has any idea how fiercely I’m willing to fight. I guess they’ll learn the hard way that I’m no pushover.
Giving up simply isn’t in my blood.

Note: DRAGON FIRE ACADEMY is an upper YA/NA reverse harem romance. This series will take you on a brand-new journey with a descendant of the beloved Seaton Falls shifters, featured in THE LOST ROYALS SAGA. So, keep an eye out for cameos from some of your favorite characters! New readers, rest assured; it’s completely unnecessary to read the first five books before embarking on this fresh chapter set in a world filled with fierce wolves, hotheaded dragons, and powerful witches you don’t want to cross.

Noelle has her mark and her mates. She learns more about her mates, herself, and the island in this book.
Great story. These need to be read in order. I like where the plot is going for the story, although I’m not quite sure which way it’s going to fall just yet. Great characters.
First let me tell you I finished this book in a day! That is how much the book consumed me.
The book started with Noelle waking up after transitioning in the cave with her mates. There were some ups and downs which the down included a “weird” mark on the side of her neck.
As the book went they were trying to discover more about the mark and what could it mean for the boys, the island and for their Queen Noelle. After discovering that there is The Darkness and The Light inside of Noelle fighting and waiting for a chance to mend her to their will, they tried to help her as much as they could, knowing ONE wrong step and Noelle won’t be the same!
The books is fast paced, exciting and I really loved it! The Reverse Harem is not as much shown as maybe in the other books which I like and I think even someone who doesn’t like RH would be okay with.
My overall thoughts?
I will definitely suggest this book to anyone who may like it. I love the main characters and their development as well as their friendship and boldness.
5 stars for Second Term by Rachel Jonas. This is book two in the Dragon Fire Academy Series. Picks up right where nook one left us. I loved learning about Noelle’s mom’s past and how Noelle came to be. Noelle and the guys are mates. The evil is after Noelle and the guys will do whatever it takes to protect her. I did like how Blythe comes to play more in this story. Wasn’t sure if we could trust her or not, but she proves herself. We learn a little bit about the chief, but I think there is so much more to learn about him. The Hive is out of sorts, but they aren’t sure why, but oh the reason is a good one. I enjoyed the first book but Oh man this book blew me away. Book three here I come.
Might contain a spoiler or 2.
Things are changing for Noelle ever since she got her mark by both the Hive and Darkness. Frankly, its freaking her out. She doesnt have control over her powers and everyone safe her friends and mates are afraid of her. What pisses me off about that is her teachers. You’d think they would try and help her and find a solution. There has to be someone there who would at least try but no she is on her own. Now, her bff from childhood who turned on her in high school, Blythe is trying to help her. They cleared the air and now she wants to help Noelle get control. The Darkness is taking over more and its scaring her and her mates. With no help from her family because she cant get word to them…she’s a prisoner more or less. The Chief is an a-hole and has sinister plans and although we know that about him we dont necessarily know his end game yet. Things are also out of sync with her mates because protocol was broken. She’s supposed to solidify her Queendom by being with Ori first but Rayen slipped and slept with Noelle first. Broke tradition and they lose a couple of abilities for their trouble. Sooo, now that she has been with Ori things are getting better but its never that easy. Especially with the council and Chief…who want to make an example out of Rayen and take him away for awhile. Basically jail until he feels the lesson is learned. Now, things take a turn for the worst. I wont give away anything else. The end of this book was huge…I mean wow I didnt expect that but okay onto the next book. I do want to say I really wish Noelle was able to spend more time and bond with her men. She’s only bonded with Ori and Rayen….at least bed wise. She has yet to spend much time with Kai and Paulo. I kinda wish there was more in regards to getting to know her mates but too much is going on in the book to where its taken a backseat. The love scenes are kinda glancing and not much detail so a bit boring on that front. I want love scenes to at least seem real and that something actually took place. I pretty much had to read between the lines which was disappointing. I want the juicy bits too!
If the first book was wild then this one just blew it out of the park! I loved every little surprise and the story was just as amazing as the 1st book I’m dying to know what’s yet to come and find answers to the questions I still have!!
Yummy! Rachel brings back the action and yummy Omegas for another thrilling story. More twists abound as Noelle’s story continues and I can’t wait for the next book!
Dragon Fire Academy: Second Term by Rachel Jonas is the second book in her Dragon Fire Academy and picks right up where book one left off. Noelle has finally shifted, but she has obtained all three of her forms – witch, dragon, and wolf. The Darkness has marked her along with Spirit and so war has in essence been declared and she will be the determining factor in it all. Sadly, her impatience and stubbornness will create an opening that someone is waiting for to set a chain reaction in play that could destroy everything and everyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and so I was excited to grab this book up and dive back into this exciting world as Noelle works to find her place on the island and with the four men who are her mates. I love the sense of foreboding throughout this book. It truly keeps you on the edge of your seat as you try to anticipate what will happen next for these characters. A lot is going on with Noelle both good and bad. The good is that she is getting closer to the guys and that they are all opening up to each other. The ending of this book is super crazy! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor at everything that happens and leaves me wanting to know what happens next.
I enjoyed this book, but I felt that the pace at the beginning of this book was super slow. It needed something to give it a boost. I understand laying the groundwork of showing the connections that are being forged between Noelle and her hive, but it dragged. I was disappointed in the guys more than once when they failed to communicate in a timely manner with Noelle about “protocol” and other things going on on the island as well. But she falls into that disappointment as well when she goes against what they ask and learns something she wasn’t ready to really know or understand.
I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. If the pace hadn’t picked up and become more engaging I would have rated this book lower, but the second half of this book really saves it and helps bring everything together. I’m anxious to dig deeper and learn what is going on with the Chief especially. I have a theory as to what is going on with him in particular, but I’m eager to see if I’m on the right track. I like the surprises written into this book and while the cliffhanger is a killer, it just leaves me anticipating the next book. If you’ve read the first and enjoyed it then I highly recommend you grab this book. If you feel like I did that it drags for a bit, hang in there! It gets good and will totally be worth it!
I honestly can’t wait until the next book. I love Noel and her friends. The first book introduced us to the mysterious darkness that once Noelle and shows glimpses of how powerful she is. This segment of her journey builds upon that mystery and adds many more, like markings that suddenly appear on Noelle that no one knows the meaning of. I like how strong of a character Noelle is. The battle between light and darkness isn’t an easy one and a I definitely feel for her as she tries to find balance. I really enjoyed seeing the relationships between her and the guys develop and grow. The ending left me with a totally book hangover. I really need the next book.
The second book in this series and is seriously even way better than the first. Its definitely more intense with all the action and I loved every single word of this story that I truly could not put down and not get enough of them at all. Noelle and all her guys were so great and I love how their relationships progress. I really am in desperate need of the next one to find out what’s going to happen to them all. I am absolutely hooked on this series for sure!
Noelle has some big obstacles coming her way. There is some major stuff happening in this book. It’s really good. I love Noelle’s guys. They will do anything for her.
OMG I loved the first book but I loved this second book even more! Fast paced the story continues from where book one left us on that hell of a cliffhanger and we continue on Noelle’s journey as she struggles after her first shift. As for her hive, I absolutely adore them and am enjoying their progression in their relationship. Love the mystery and intrigue, love the twists and turns , love the humour and the hot and steamy Scenes and I cannot wait to read more!
Rachel Jonas Ahh-mazing follow up to book one. Rachel knocked it out of the park and leave a us with another epic cliffhanger. I love the dual POV and seeing things from the guys perspective. This book has all the feels. The storyline is intriguing, fast paced and never lulls.
This book picks up right where we left off of book one. Noelle survives her first shift and she can now feel her wolf, her dragon and her witch. The one power she has controlled the best, is now acting out of sorts, causing chaos at school. Her relationship with the guys moves forward by leaps and cements her as their queen. To bad there are a lot of twists and turns along the way, because nothing great is ever easy. The darkness is trying to take over Noelle, the Chief is on a power grab and Noelle is on the cusp of falling to evil. I don’t think the Chief realizes the level of whoopass coming his way, both from Noelle and her family. Noelle has leveled up and is looking for revenge. I don’t want to post spoilers, but this is a must read! Absolutely unputdownable!
Holy Hannah! If Noelle didn’t have a hard enough time in the last book, book two has her enduring a multitude of events! After shifting for the first time a mysterious tattoo appears that isn’t quite what the Omegas expected. Now they’re desperate to learn what it means. Their hive starts acting odd and out of sync, and worst of all their Chief begins to show his true colors…. And it’s not pheasant. It starts to look like Darkness is getting stronger. Mysterious allies of the Chief show up, and communication to the mainland is cut off. Somehow Noelle’s friends are determined to contact her family for help. If there’s one thing I learned from reading The Lost Royals series it’s NOT to count this family out. Anyone thinking Noelle is out for the count is seriously misinformed. I’ve no doubt her hive and she will come together and kick some major supernatural bum!!! In this book Noelle and her guys endure MANY obstacles. However I think Spirit may be testing them, and finding a way to form them into a COMPLETELY unbreakable bond. The Chief has another thing coming thinking he can overpower Noelle… and just you wait until her nearest and dearest back home figure out what’s going on … SMH. The Darkness doesn’t know what kind of battle its truly started, but Noelle, her hive, and loved ones WILL be the ones to finish it!
Dragon Fire Academy 1: First Term I received an ARC of this book to review. I read and reviewed the first book in this series and was highly anticipating reading book 2. I have to say that before reading this series I was not a fan of reverse harem romances. I loved the first book and this book did not disappoint. Noelle’s story continues with her developing deeper relationships and coming into her own. The men in this story are not only swoon worthy they are well developed characters, each of whom bring something different to the story. The story takes you on a wild ride with a mind blowing ending that leave you hungry for book 3. Great job Rachel Jonas, I look forward to your next book!
Received as an Advanced Review Copy.
In plain and simple terms, I LOVE THIS BOOK!I LOVE THIS SERIES!
Rachel Jonas you are word master! I love how you can create characters, scenes and new worlds that I can visualise and live through your words. This story is captivating, enthralling and compelling! I read this in one sitting.
This book was amazing! I loved how their relationships deepened, how their characters were extended and how important each person was to the completion of this book. As always, the writing was amazing and the plot had me sitting on the edge of my seat during several scenes.
I won’t spoil anything for anyone, but wowser, what a book!!!!
I am desperately waiting for the next book cos I reeeeeeeeaaaaaalllyyyy want to know what will happen to Noelle and her guys.
What a book! Rachel has definitely surprised me with this second book in the dragonfire academy series. The plot thickened and took a direction that I couldn’t have seen coming, and I loved that. Having a story grip you and drag you into an exciting world is what reading should be. Rachel delivers with a read that’s full of emotions and will have you refusing to put it down. Noelle is a loveable character that you wish you could know in real life. The omega’s are the ultimate boyfriends that every girl wishes she could have. The fact that the story was unpredictable was a beautiful thing. And that ending… I’m salivating for the next book just to see what Rachel has in store for us. When it comes to academy books, this series is one of my favourites! Epic start and epic finish to this book! I’m in awe of beautifully written story that had my emotions going up and down and how the characters jumped off the page! Well done Rachel! Absolutely loved this second instalment and devoured every page!
