He wants to keep his family’s secrets. She wants to find the story that will set her apart as a journalist. Too bad they can’t both have what they want.Ever since Devin failed spectacularly at leading the Dragon Quarry Shifters, he’s kept to himself. Now that his cousin is back in charge, nobody needs him. If he holes up in his mansion for long enough, maybe the rest of his pack will forget … forget about him and his heavy-handed ways. When he gets lonely enough, he’ll burrow into the earth in dragon form and let time take him. It’s not such a bad fate. He doesn’t need people, especially not the pesky reporter his cousin’s wife sends his way. She really should have known better. If the human reporter uncovers their secrets, she could ruin them all. That’s why Devin wants her to stay away. It has nothing to do with the way she throws him off balance every time they’re in the same room. He’ll keep telling himself that until he believes it.
Nobody else in Moira’s newsroom wants to touch the Devin VanTassel eligible bachelor story. They think it’s too much trouble for a fluff piece. Moira, on the other hand, thinks this might be the opening she needs to uncover the VanTassel family secrets and write a career-making story. Besides, she’s not afraid of Devin. Sure, he looks menacing, but she had a one-night stand with him years ago that still keeps her warm at night. She doesn’t know what to do, though, when the fire of their attraction rekindles, and she discovers a sweeter, more vulnerable Devin than anyone could have expected. She also discovers Devin’s secret. It could definitely make her career—but also ruin him, and maybe the rest of the VanTassels as well.
All she has to do is print it.
If only she hadn’t fallen in love.
Dragon Desire is a steamy romance with vibrant characters and a satisfying happy-ever-after. Perfectly good on its own, it’s even better when read in sequence with the rest of the books in the Tooth & Claw series.

This might just be my favorite book by the author. She was able to create these fantastic characters, they are so full of depth and emotion, and took them on a journey to self discovery and figuring out what the right path is. I’m racking my brain because I would love to read Frankie and Atticus’ story and I’m not sure if I somehow missed it. But I didn’t feel lost in the story, just desperat to read more about this amazing pack. I was so glad when these two found their HEA and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
The story follows Moira, a reporter who volunteers to interview the broody Devin VanTassel, the area’s most available bachelor, and write a story on him. Moira had a brief encounter with Devin years before and is curious about him now. Devin has made some mistakes that are unforgivable. He knows that he doesn’t deserve to be happy, so this idea of writing an article on him just isn’t going to work. He’ll do whatever he needs to do to run the reporter away, for good.
The story was okay. I enjoyed Devin’s niece, Crystal. She was a mischievous little thing that brought a smile to my face. I did like Devin and Moira as well as Atticus, Frankie, and the other supporting characters. There was too much repetitiveness within the main characters’ heads. The reader is constantly reminded of Devin’s and Moira’s inner conflicts and past blunders. It started to irritate me. I also wished parts of the story were developed more. When Devin’s “issue” was finally revealed, I couldn’t see it being the culmination of the problem, surely there was more to it or maybe I just missed it.
Dragon Desire was an okay read for me. 2.5-3 stars

This was an enjoyable book and the story kept me up till late wanting to finish it. Moria Applegate is a reporter and nobody wants to do this fluff piece story about eligible bachelors so she takes it on because she has a past with the bachelor himself Devin Van Tassel well sort of if you count a one night stand 8 yrs ago that she has never forgotten. Devin is a dragon shifter that has a trouble past and is filled with anger and hatred for himself and just wants to be left alone but his cousins wife Frankie wants to help him find someone so doing an interview will help but what happens when the past walks in and the attraction is still there burning hot as ever for them both, he pushes her away a few times because she cannot find out there families secrets but she does and records him changing from a black dragon to a human being ,so shocked she’s not sure what to do. This could make her career but I would cost her the love of her life and the family she has grown to love. There is so much more to this story that it’s a must read.

Great story. Nice start to series. Devin made several mistakes in his past. He failed to lead the Dragon Quarry Shifters. He lives isolated and disconnected. He just wanted to be left alone, in his shame. Atticus’ wife, Frankie wants to help Devin and guide him to happiness. Atticus Van Tassel asked the editor for a favor. The editor creates an assigment to write a profile on Devin Van Tassel. Moira Applegate took on the assignment to interview Devin VanTassels as an opportunity to boost her career. When the time is right, he will implement a plan to cease to exist. Devin and Moira, have a history, neither ever forgot. 7 years ago, they had a moment. The townspeople sensed an evil monster in Devin and gave him a wide birth when he ventured to town. Moira wondered if Devin recognized her from the past. Moira had a friend in Frankie who continuously gives her access to Devin. One time, she found out the family secret. What will she do with the information? What does Devin do? Will her developing feelings affect her decision? Nice story. Interesting characters. Looking forward to the series. Nicely done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nice cover art!
This is the first in the series. Devin felt like a monster and a failure when it came to his cousin, Atticus, and his wife. Moira is a journalist. This is an emotional shifter romance. The author creates a story where you can feel the raw emotions coming from the characters. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.

Moira is an up and coming journalist looking for the story that will break her into the promotion she has always wanted. Devin is a monster in more ways than one. He just wants to keep his families secrets and to be left alone. Moira is sent to interview him as the most eligible bachelor in their area. Only problem is she has slept with him 8 years ago and has never forgotten it. He does everything he can to run her off. She gets the story of a lifetime but can she do it. This story will destroy Devin and his whole family and everything they had built up. The closer they get the more guilt Moira has. Once she decides to destroy the evidence it’s too late. Devin found it and kicks her out never wanting to see her again. They are both devastated. Is there anything she can do to make this up to him. He deserves all of this and more. Monsters are never supposed to be happy. His monster mourns her and she is miserable trying to write a story that will at least keep her job.
I could not put this book down. Must read.

Book one in the Tooth & Claw series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Dragon shifter Devin VanTassel wants to be left alone then Moira a news reporter comes into his life. A great story that kept me turning pages. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the first book in the Dragon Desire in the Tooth and Claw series by Emilia Hartley. This is Devon’s story of love and his second chance at redemption. Devon considers himself unworthy of anyone’s time and love. Moira is a reporter that’s assigned to build a dating profile. This is a quick read with passion and redemption. Can Moira print the story and destroy Devon or will her love for him keep her from hurting him? Does he ever go after Moira after reading her story that she wrote not knowing that she didn’t print it? Read the story to find out if Devon and Moira get their HEA> I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Just the absolute best story. It had me captivated from the beginning with the hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Everything I like to read about and more. Such a great story I will read again and again. A keeper!!

Moira is trying to become a good reporter. So when she gets another fluff piece she does her best to fill it. But if she has her first interview she realizes that there’s more to Devon than anybody ever realized.
Devon thinks he’s a failure. he doesn’t understand why people in his clan are still around him. He thinks he’s a monster. But then Moira walks into his life. Soon he will remember this is the second time their meeting.
I will this time workout and not just be a one-night stand?
I will be recommending this book to family and friends.

Moira is a reporter and writing fluff pieces which she hates doing. She is tasked with interviewing a very rich recluse. The article is supposed to be about a very eligible bachelor but Devon doesn’t want to be interviewed at all. What he doesn’t remember though is that he and Moira had a one-night stand eight years ago. A gorgeous recluse. A beautiful reporter. Dragons. Really? Yep, Moira saw Devon change from a dragon to a man. Rejection. A bite. And love. What a terrific story.
