He wants to keep his family’s secrets. She wants to find the story that will set her apart as a journalist. Too bad they can’t both have what they want.Ever since Devin failed spectacularly at leading the Dragon Quarry Shifters, he’s kept to himself. Now that his cousin is back in charge, nobody needs him. If he holes up in his mansion for long enough, maybe the rest of his pack will forget … forget about him and his heavy-handed ways. When he gets lonely enough, he’ll burrow into the earth in dragon form and let time take him. It’s not such a bad fate. He doesn’t need people, especially not the pesky reporter his cousin’s wife sends his way. She really should have known better. If the human reporter uncovers their secrets, she could ruin them all. That’s why Devin wants her to stay away. It has nothing to do with the way she throws him off balance every time they’re in the same room. He’ll keep telling himself that until he believes it.
Nobody else in Moira’s newsroom wants to touch the Devin VanTassel eligible bachelor story. They think it’s too much trouble for a fluff piece. Moira, on the other hand, thinks this might be the opening she needs to uncover the VanTassel family secrets and write a career-making story. Besides, she’s not afraid of Devin. Sure, he looks menacing, but she had a one-night stand with him years ago that still keeps her warm at night. She doesn’t know what to do, though, when the fire of their attraction rekindles, and she discovers a sweeter, more vulnerable Devin than anyone could have expected. She also discovers Devin’s secret. It could definitely make her career—but also ruin him, and maybe the rest of the VanTassels as well.
All she has to do is print it.
If only she hadn’t fallen in love.
Dragon Desire is a steamy romance with vibrant characters and a satisfying happy-ever-after. Perfectly good on its own, it’s even better when read in sequence with the rest of the books in the Tooth & Claw series.

Another amazing read from Emilia Hartley that I couldn’t put down. I just love her style of writing. She makes all her characters and themes work amazingly well together. She has become one of my favorite authors to read. I get all excited when I see new arcs from her.

Devin VanTassel is a Dragon Shifter who calls himself the Midas of Rot hiding away from everyone except Atticus, Frankie and baby Crystal who he loves dearly. BUT there is something about Moira Applegate… Does he know her?
Moira Applegate is a human working at the City News, receiving a direct invitation into the reclusive family’s lives, her boss assigned her to write an article about an eligible bachelor. Little does Devin VanTassel know but one beautiful special night eight years ago they met!
This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.

Moira is charged with doing an interview with Devin as sort of a dating profile. She takes the job hoping to turn this fluff piece into a major revelation about Devin and his family.
Devin is resistant knowing this is another plow from his sister-in-law to get him a mate. Devin believes that with his past he doesn’t deserve a mate. He also does not remember Moira or a past connection they share.
I liked the dialogue between the characters. Though I have not read the previous books to this, it was not hard to follow along. As Devin and Moira grow in their relationship, the different surprises drew me into the story.
A nice quick read.
Moira is blinded by ambition to get a story to further her career. There is a secret surrounding the reclusive wealthy bachelor. She hopes to find that story. Devon is guilt ridden by his past behavior and hides because of it. I enjoyed the secondary characters as much as the primary ones. The story moves along well and keeps the readers attention. It is a story that has you feel good at the end.

Enjoyable and entertaining read. Fill with intrigue, suspense, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. Wasn’t really much in the drama department but that didn’t take away from the story. Overall a good read. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I love anything that this author writes. Maybe it’s because I have a very big spot of love for dragons and shifters and paranormal. I enjoyed this book and I really ended up liking some of the characters a lot.
Who is Moira Applegate? What does she do for a living? Why is she meeting with Devin VanTassel? Who is he? I love Crystal. Frankie and Atticus were interesting characters. When Frankie invites Moira to a party at the Quarry, what happens? Moira’s strange encounter with the unknown man at the bookstore creeped me out a bit. I worried about her. What misunderstanding occurs? How are several lives affected? What happens when Moira goes to show Devin what she wrote? What misconceptions do we find Devin has been harboring? Read and see what all happens and why I loved this read!

What is it going to be for Moira? Her career or love? Moira has the story of a lifetime that could catapult her career as a reporter to the big league when she happens to record Devin, the bachelor she has come to interview changing from a dragon back into a man. Now she has a problem she will have to do some soul searching to find a resolution for. There is a lot of emotion woven into the storyline as well as a good dose of how far a person can or should go in the pursuit of advancement in a career and just how ethics and morals play into those decisions. I enjoyed this book a great deal!

Another great start to a series form this very talented author she always writes books that draw you in and keep you engaged
Devin was a little heavy handed when he was leader of his clan of dragon shifters so now he has slunk off to keep himself away from everyone Only problem is that a new paper reporter has come to do an interview on the very reclusive Devin Van Tassel. No one else wanted this fluff piece so Moira said she would do it after all her and Devin had one night long ago. Devin doesn’t want anyone in his home he just wants to fade away and eventually allow his dragon to just switch off but Moira just keeps on coming back Then she learns the secret about him and his family and he assumes the worst that she is about to tell everyone their secret Can she forgive his over reaction and can they have a future together You will have to read to see
I enjoyed reading this story because the characters just seemed to jump out at you as being so real. Their emotions and desires are right out there. You get to watch two separate people change from what they thought of themselves and what they wanted to where they are much more well rounded and happier in life.
Moira is a newspaper writer for their small town and when the reporters were asked who wanted to write a story about their town’s most eligible bachelor, she is the only one who accepts it. Heck, she wants it big time. Eight years ago they had a ‘to die for’ one-night-stand. She wants to see if he remembers her and how he has turned out eight years later. She has dreamed and fantasized about him for the past eight years. No man could possibly stand up to even the memory of him. She would do anything to be with him one more time, maybe even more. She also knows that there are secrets being kept by people around town that if she could find out and write about it, she can finally make something of her career. She just needs that one break. She has been working so hard to be successful. Then, when she does find something that is tremendous, she starts to wonder if it is worth destroying people’s lives just to get ahead in her career.
Devin failed spectacular years ago as the head of their pack. He has backed down and just wants to be left alone. He would love to just crawl into a cave and sleep for many years until everyone forgets about what a failure he was. Now he has a reporter coming around to do an interview to write about him being the most eligible bachelor, just because his cousin’s wife wants him to find a mate. There is something about this female that drives his dragon crazy. He runs her off then asks to see her again. He escorts her around at a company party and gives her mixed signals. When she tells him that if he is just trying to get another conquest, that they had already slept together. He starts to suspect that she may know more than she should and when he finds a damaging video of him shifting on her phone, he kicks her out and tries to hide in his basement/cavern.

Great story with lots of emotions and some misunderstandings. Well not at first but reaction without explanation is cause for destruction. Wonderful characters that are developed as you go through the story. Some excitement where you don’t know if it’ll be life or death. Is he the monster everyone claims he is? Loved his niece!!

The author had the character say it best. Writing can be professional or a fluff piece. This was professional. Well written and easily moving along with good depth of characters even with the minor characters. I really enjoyed this book. There were a couple of small errors which for me stops the flow , but since this is an ARC they would probably be removed after editing. I would like to continue this book with some of the other characters as I think it will make a great series
Take the time and read it. It won’t take long cause you don’t want to put it down

One beautiful reporter looking to launch her career vs a lot of family secrets he wants to keep locked away
Dragon Desire is the first book in the Tooth & Claw series and I enjoyed the story of Devin and Moira. He is a dragon shifter who is having a very tumultuous time with his dragon. Moira is a reporter who has been assigned to write an article about Devin’s family and him. But there are a lot of family secrets that he wants to keep that way. They have a history together and they could also have a future if Devin can accept Moira’s love.
I liked the first book in the series as it was well written with an interesting story-line and great characters. Not to mention the fiery chemistry between Devin and Moira. I look forward to reading the next in this series.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Moira is tired of writing fluff news articles for her small town paper she wants to be editor and chief instead she takes the article know one wanted a bachelor article about the town billionaire he’s reclusive and hot. Devin Van Tassel the man everyone fears there are plenty of stories about him she just remembers him as a very fond one nightstand eight years ago but interviewed him is both mentally frustrating and sexualy frustrating he won’t give her anything for the article he’s either flirting or trying to scare her away and he doesn’t even remember me. But at a company party I discover his secrets can I use them against the man I’m in love with just to get a promotion and what will happen if he finds out i know about him.
Devin wants to be left alone but a reporter keeps showing up one he and his inner beast have a major interest in but he has to keep family secrets. He’s dangerous he did some bad things eight years ago that someone saw what will happen if Moira finds out. But when he discovers the women he has feelings for has lied to him he wants nothing to do with her but with one bite his beast changes things.
I was allowed to read and advance article of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Who knew that a shifter would have such a screwed up relationship with his beast but that is what Devin is living in turmoil.
Moira is just trying to do her job so she can move on to a bigger and better future.
Choices and memories are not as cute and dry as these two would hope but can they overcome misunderstanding to look towards the future?
Read their story to find out. You will not be bored.

Dragon Desire is the first book and a great start to the Tooth and Claw series. Moira and Devin had a one night stand years before and now she is writing an article about him and being a bachelor. I loved these two characters and how they bring out the best in each other. The writing and the storyline are great and the characters are likable. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
Devin is such a grump but really liked the resolution in this story.
