USA Today and NY Times bestselling author Michelle Fox makes spontaneous human combustion sexy in a steamy new romance!Adara Brenton thinks she’s an average girl: single and dreaming of romance. Also? In need of a job. As it turns out, horking up fireballs at work is the fast track to unemployment.Yes. Fireballs.See, in her family, spontaneous human combustion is genetic…like red hair, only, … genetic…like red hair, only, you know, fatal, and now it’s her turn to burn.
Endre Felman has lived deep inside a mountain for centuries, adding to his hoard and looking for his mate. Meeting Adara before she goes up in smoke gives him hope, but convincing her dragons are real, that he’s the dragon of her heart, and keeping her alive through what’s to come proves to be more difficult than he ever imagined.
In the end, they may both burn to ash because no dragon lives forever without love.
No cliffhanger. HEA ending.
~~ EXCERPT~~
He leaned close, his mouth by my ear, his breath tickling my neck. “When we’re done with the next kiss, you won’t even remember your name.”
I moved back and arched an eyebrow. “Oh really?”
“It only gets hotter from here.”
I swallowed.
“And the kiss after that, you’ll be begging me, Adara.”
“For what?” I whispered the question.
“For what only I can give you.” Endre came close again, and I tried to back away, but found the cave at my back. He crowded me, forcing me into the jagged rock wall. “After this, I don’t think we’ll be able to stop at just kissing, do you?”
“We can’t just fall into bed together. That’s crazy.”
“No. Not crazy. It’s the magic of fate and fire. I’ll play by your rules for now, but keeping me at a distance doesn’t change anything. I’m yours and you’re mine. Our flames will rise as one someday.”

What do you get when you combine a dragon & fire?! You get “Dragon Burning Bright “ of course 😉 Ms. Fox has done it again with a new, smoking hot shifter romance and a unique twist! Yes, this is a short story, but an amazing must read you won’t want to miss out on with a fresh new plot & fantastic characters & descriptions that will keep those pages turning! Even tho I volunteered to read this it was without any outside influences. I honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction and now I want more 😉
Dragon Burning Bright is a quick read that will stay with you long after the credits roll. Endre & Adara’s chemistry is off the charts. I love their banter. Ms. Fox does a terrific job weaving humor, steam, and all the feels together into a terrific book.
Adara is hilarious! Endre is definitely different and when they clash…its smokin!!! I never expected to read about someone that could spontaneously combust! This one has it all, from beginning to end, it will keep you in the story. I read this all in a day, couldnt put it down. Very interested to hear more from this group. I love all things paranormal, but when you make it a dragon I am totally in love.
I am not going to give away this story because you have got to read it to enjoy it as I have but just know it is so very worth the read

This was a really good quick read with a HEA ending. Adara was stubborn and a spitfire mess, and Endre is desperately wanting a mate but has given up until he finds her…but shes not hearing that. This story just flowed well and was really funny at times.

This is a very quick read to me, and I wish that Michelle would write more in-depth books because her ideas are so unique and have so many possibilities. The shapeshifter aspect works well with her other shapeshifter books; although I do have to say that the concept of finding your mate, and the way she tells they need their mate in order to shift into their dragon form the first time is a bit abstract. The idea of needing help or you’ll burn up is understandable, but the way it was described was difficult for me to buy into. I was also more drawn to the male lead character than the female for once. Overall, the suspense built to the end, and the story was interesting to keep me to the end. It just wasn’t my favorite that Michelle’s written.
Read this awesome short story. I loved it. A great introduction to a possible new series.
Endre is a centuries old dragon who is about ready to leave this world due to circumstances beyond his control.
Adara has spontaneously started to spew fire. She knows that some of her relatives have died from spontaneous combustion and expects the worst to happen to her.
When they meet it is because Endre has come to help her control the fire. There is a reason that she has this happen to her. If she can survive the burning, miraculous things may happen.

DRAGON BURNING BRIGHT is a stand-alone paranormal romance that just may explain the phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion.
In the first chapter, Adara is having the kind of day we all can commiserate with having – a horrible first (and last) date with a spud in a suit, she’s lost her job (probably a good thing since the boss is a letch), she had to walk home in a blizzard, her house and yard need fire insurance, and her credit card is maxed out. Now she’s got a naked guy at the door instead of the pizza delivery guy. Did I mention the naked guy is talking about dragons? That she is one and that’s the reason for the fireball horking? Yep, her life is on the crazy train!
For Endre, after 600 years of living and searching he’s starting to turn to stone. The lack of a mate is getting to him and soon he will be nothing but a memory to the few in his small clan. This will probably be his last mission to protect one of those who burn – a human with dragon DNA – if he can help her find her dragon, she just may live. If she is his mate, he may too.
This was a fabulous short story with a HEA. There is passion, patience, and a dragon’s hoard. It is fun and flirty. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours curled up on your favorite reading chair.

Being a firm lover and believer in shifters, Adara and Endre’s story gives one human mystery explanation and puts it to rest in my mind. Makes perfect sense. Loved this book!
Adara was having terrible luck. She came from a family that spontaneous combustion seemed to be a thing. After a terrible week of setting things on fire and a bad date things start to get interesting as Endre who is a dragon shows up. Lots of chemistry some steam in an interesting take of what is going on. An HEA made this a great story. I am voluntarily reviewing an arc.
One who bursts out fire and one who is turning to stone. What an interesting couple! When they need to rely on each other to survive, but first he must convince her that dragons are real and they are mates. This was a great book that I would recommend to anyone who likes shifter/paranormal books.
In her family, spontaneous human combustion is genetic…like red hair, only, you know, fatal, and now it’s her turn to burn. – Adara
Adara Brenton was at the end of her rope… at the bottom of the barrel of hope. Out of money, no job, and a weird genetic quirk that made the chance of her bursting into flames to die an agonizing death more likely than, say, surviving a house fire. Her uncontrollable fire balls that erupt when she’s stressed cost her the last job she held (note to self: Watch the aim on the fireball burps.- Adara). After a blind date ended in disaster, all Adara wants to do is go home… Loud knocking on her door heralds the arrival of the pizza guy.
Hopeful that her poor abused credit card will stand the cost, Adara opens the door… and slams it shut! There’s a naked man… A VERY LARGE NAKED MAN pounding on her door! Endure is a 600 year old dragon, living in Glacier Mountain with Sigurd and Sigurd’s mate, Crystal. When the alert comes in, Sigurd informs Endre he needs to find Adara and help her transition into her dragoness. Endre is conflicted; he doesn’t want to go, but he must. He MUST attempt to save Adara if at all possible; after all, he is the keeper of the oath: “Keeper of the flame, guardian of the light, we will protect the burning with all of our might.”
“It’s the magic of fate and fire. Our flames will rise as one someday.” – Endre
Endre knows that Adara is his mate, but how to convince her? He’s slowly losing his battle to stay dragon; stone is building up inside him. But Endre can’t force Adara to love him, to be his mate; it must be her choice….
In the end, they may both burn to ash because no dragon lives forever without love.
Spontaneous combustion, Adara is heating up, and not in the good way. Her car melted, lost her job and will never see her rental deposit in her lifetime. What else can go wrong? Well a man pounding on her door doesnt seem to be in the right direction but neither does turning to ash. I loved the storyline, the intensity and characters, the word play and sarcastic remakes amade me laugh. I really cant wait for more. I happily volunteered to read a copy of this book and could not put it down.
This was a great dragon shifter romance. Adara is jobless, losing her job because she’s belching up fireballs. Her condition is due to the fact her family is genetically predisposed to spontaneous human combustion. Endre is a dragon shifter who is turning to stone. His job is to track down those like Adara who can’t control their fire and don’t know dragons exist. This story was well written with interesting characters and an intriguing storyline. Adara and Endre were great together and had amazing chemistry. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

What a wonderful take on dragons. I really loved it!!! I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
This short read is so much fun! The premise is so cool. Adara knows her family history and has just almost given up having a future. Then Endre comes knocking on her door (literally), but he has problems of his own. The story feels so much bigger than the pages it fills and the end is just a happy sigh.
Very unique plot. As this mystery unfolds, Endre is very patient with Adara as he opens up a new world and some explanation to this anomaly to her. Endre is bold, confident and desperately in need of his mate but just as stubborn as an ancient dragon can be. Despite the seriousness of Adara’s & Endre’s predicament, this made me laugh out loud several times. I think this is a very engaging story and interesting concept of how to get your dragon. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
Come On Baby Light My Fire…..
I absolutely love this new take on how some dragons came to be, leave it to Ms. Fox to come up with something like this…
Adara Brenton has lived her life knowing that some of her family members have burnt up from Human Combustion and wonders when her turn will come, now as an adult everything has really gone haywire, she has practically burned her rental down, doesn’t even have a yard around her house anymore. To top it off she can’t even go on a date because when the idiots try to feel her up she spits up fire and burns something on their bodies up! Now some crazy hunk of a naked man huffs and puffs and burns her door down, claims he’s a dragon and swoops her away literally! What’s a girl to do, faint that’s what!
Endre has spent hundreds of years alone and has given up on ever finding his mate and now this fiery red head has his hormones kicking in. He can’t keep kissing her to stop her from burning up. Will he be able to convince her that she’s his mate and mating him is the only way to make it stop permanently and that she has a dragon spirit in her fighting to get out before she burns up?
I really enjoyed this novella! Adara’s attempts at employment aren’t going well. But who wants to hire someone who spits out fireballs? LOL The whole spontaneous human combustion is dealt with in a whole new way. Add hot dragon Endre and you have a great tale with lots of heat. Pun intended! I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
