USA Today and NY Times bestselling author Michelle Fox makes spontaneous human combustion sexy in a steamy new romance!Adara Brenton thinks she’s an average girl: single and dreaming of romance. Also? In need of a job. As it turns out, horking up fireballs at work is the fast track to unemployment.Yes. Fireballs.See, in her family, spontaneous human combustion is genetic…like red hair, only, … genetic…like red hair, only, you know, fatal, and now it’s her turn to burn.
Endre Felman has lived deep inside a mountain for centuries, adding to his hoard and looking for his mate. Meeting Adara before she goes up in smoke gives him hope, but convincing her dragons are real, that he’s the dragon of her heart, and keeping her alive through what’s to come proves to be more difficult than he ever imagined.
In the end, they may both burn to ash because no dragon lives forever without love.
No cliffhanger. HEA ending.
~~ EXCERPT~~
He leaned close, his mouth by my ear, his breath tickling my neck. “When we’re done with the next kiss, you won’t even remember your name.”
I moved back and arched an eyebrow. “Oh really?”
“It only gets hotter from here.”
I swallowed.
“And the kiss after that, you’ll be begging me, Adara.”
“For what?” I whispered the question.
“For what only I can give you.” Endre came close again, and I tried to back away, but found the cave at my back. He crowded me, forcing me into the jagged rock wall. “After this, I don’t think we’ll be able to stop at just kissing, do you?”
“We can’t just fall into bed together. That’s crazy.”
“No. Not crazy. It’s the magic of fate and fire. I’ll play by your rules for now, but keeping me at a distance doesn’t change anything. I’m yours and you’re mine. Our flames will rise as one someday.”

Intriguing Dragon-Shifter Tale!!
Adara comes from a family who is genetically predisposed to spontaneous human combustion and has just lost her job because she is horking up fireballs. Endre is a dragon-shifter who is turning to stone. He needs to find his mate soon. Endre works on a team who track and attempt to save those like Adara who cannot control their fire, and do not know dragons exist.
“You should stop fighting Endre. He can help you.” Crystal crossed her arms and tapped a toe, impatient with me. “I barely know him.” “You can figure that our after you’re not burning to death.” She shook her head. “You’re not human anymore, Adara. Your choices aren’t human. Stop trying to be something you aren’t.”
Entertaining and enjoyable story.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
I want more!
Yes, I really liked this story. My one objection is that it ended. I want more.
Adara’s jobless. Blowing bubbles may get by but fireballs–not so much! That and worry about living didn’t make her life quality very good. Checking her family history wasn’t encouraging. Still, when the guy banged down her door with a chance she resisted. She had a good reason but I’ll let you read about it.
Dragons live a long time. In the world that the author built, dragons needed a mate to keep living. He hadn’t found one. He spent a lot of time trying to save humans but none were his mate–until Adara.
Amazing world building. Lots of steam and not all from inside the dragons. Characters you want to know more about. A life-threatening problem that may not have a solution. What more could you want (except more story)?
I heartily recommend this one hoping there are more to follow.
Found this to be an interesting read! The story line is unique as Adara must come to terms with her fate. The characters have great chemistry from the start. I’ve never read a paranormal book dealing with this phenomenon, was truly impressed with the writing. Enjoyable read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.
What happens when you start accidentally burning things up….you get an impromptu visit from a sexy naked dragon shifter. Right…sign me up. This was my first book from this author, and I am so happy I got to read it. In this world she’s created, there are human dragon mates, but since they don’t know it, they can’t control their fires, and end up burning themselves up. If their mate finds them, they help them through it. He’s there to try and save her, then finds out she’s his mate.
This was a safe and cute read. One thing I really loved, he takes her on a date to a deserted island, where he makes her a glass rose with his fire….so freaking cool and romantic. Best first date ever, loved it. She’s a little hesitant at first, but it doesn’t take her long to get on board. She’s also funny in a quirky way, especially when he’s more on the all business side. Sweet baby making epilogue and an hea.
I really enjoyed this book!
great read! a short, quick paced read. new spin and angle, was nice to read something unique and original. not a cookie cutter type of story. truly enjoyed it and i’ll be watching for more releases in this series.
