Deftly written with three dimensional characters, great world building, and enough twists and turns to keep me turning the pages. Great Scifiromance!
I was so excited when this came out! I’ve followed the Draekon stories from the very beginning and now, finally, we get to read the stories about the original six Draekon’s that were created. How exciting! The story between Second, aka Kadir, and Alice is exciting, exhilarating, and heartwarming … not to mention hot as dragon fire. If you’ve been following along like the rest of us, then you won’t be disappointed in the least. If not, THIS, this right here, is a great place to start. Congratulations on your five-star review. I can’t wait for “Draekon Mate” to come out.
Phenomenal Sci-fi ROMANCE!
“Never A Dull Moment In This Amazing Romance” should be the sub-title for every novel written by the writing team of Zander and Savino! If their newest collaboration, DRAEKON WARRIOR, is any indication this writing team knows how to give their readers the very best all the feels and hours of wonderful entertainment! Their easy-to-read writing is so descriptive, readers can see the settings, feel the emotions, and fall in love with spectacular characters who are really out of this world! That ROMANCE can be the unifying factor is why DRAEKON WARRIOR is going to make those readers life-long fans of this writing team and the trope of Sci-fi Romance. I volunteered to read a copy of DRAEKON WARRIOR, ordered my copy early, too; and this is my VOLUNTARY and HONEST 5+STAR review! They found each other in a whole new world
This new faction of Draekons is phenomenal! I love the strong silent alien who has suffered so much and yet still manages to hold onto his inner softness. I really like that the five of them have such an unbreakable bond, I can’t wait to see what happens with the other four. The authors couldn’t have found a better mate for Kadir then Alice. She’s strong, sassy and best of all she stands up against everyone for her man. This book is one that I know I will read again and again.
First of the Rebel Force Faction – Loved it!!
Half the women taken from Earth crash-landed on a prison planet (the prior Draekon books). The other half were sold to scientists and experimented on. Alice has just marked her two hundred and sixth day as a captive. She fights every step of the way, even though it means brutal retaliation.
Kadir is woken from a thousand-year sleep. His label is “Second” as he is one of six who were the original Draekons. They do not need to meet their mate to transform into their dragon. He is charged with finding the captive human women.
Their meeting is slightly contentious; It’s not enough that the human I’m here to rescue isn’t the slightest bit grateful. No, instead, she’s sharp-tongued and suspicious. Spirited, my dragon corrects. Spirited is good. – – – Alice is neither contemptuous of me, nor afraid. Nobody has treated me this way. It’s refreshing.
These characters both have much to work through, and both are warriors in their own way. A relationship begins, and you will fall in love them both as they work through their differences and try to stay alive. I am thrilled to see more Draekon stories in the offing!!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Alice and Kadir was a true experience too read.
Both of these MC were unique in there own way that what made them work in my opinion. This book was well written in the delivery of how these two were introduced in the story.
This book has a way to make u want to root for Alice and Kadir.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story content.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy and my opinion are my own..
I loved every second of this amazing read. I thought that there was something truly special between Alice and Kadir. I found it so easy to feel for both of these incredibly strong but wounded characters. My heart ached for Alice. From the loss she had suffered in the past, to the horrible conditions and treatment she survived, her life had a lot of tragedy in it. In spite of all this, this woman was fierce, spunky and amazingly resolute. Kadir had his own heavy emotional baggage from simply being a Draekon and the mistreatment and injustices that he has suffered because of it. This book quickly captures every single bit of your attention as quickly ensnares you in its complex and compelling world. This beautiful love story is filled with drama, action, powerful emotions, danger, sweetness, humor, tension, steam and romance. This book is the first in a new series that is a spin-off from the Dragons In Exile series. You do not need to read that series first to read this book. However, If you enjoy this book and you find yourself curious, I also highly recommend that series.
Wow – I have loved all of the Draekon books so far but this one slayed me!
Both Alice and Kadir dug their way into my heart so quickly it left me breathless!!!
This is a power house of a read to start the new series!
DON’T MISS IT!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So here we have another alien romance and it was so good. So we have Alice who was sold to some scientist to study. Let me just say reading about what she went through was tough. So if you have triggers be careful as you read. It is not violent but it is traumatizing. So she is one tough chick and is bound and determined to not break. Then something happens to her and it is not looking to good. Kadir is one of the elite crimson guard that was brought out of hibernation. Well there is something different about him though. We learn that he can shift to a dragon. Say What? Yeah, so you know this story is going to get real good. Kadir is sent on a mission to find the missing women which Alice happens to be one of them. Now we learn a lot about Kadir and it is sad because of everything he went through. When he meets Alice, something shifts and he feels calm around her. I can say that it gets hot at one point and then steamy after that. So they learn from both and become quite the team. If you want to know how it will all end, check it out.
An amazing start to the series I really enjoyed the interaction between the characters . From the beginning of the story I felt like I was in this world and I couldn’t put the book down. Steamy love scenes great adventure. I truly enjoyed reading this book. Lee Savino and Lili did a great job with this book
great series
This book is a standalone, that follows where the Draekon: The Prison Planet series ends. A rebellion has begun, and there are 10 missing human females that are believed to be alive. The first genetically engineered Drakons are taken out of an imposed stasis to find and save them. This book is about Kadir and Alice. If you haven’t read the Prison Planet series, you should as you will get more of the dynamics of some of the characters. I loved the story, and if you enjoy Syfy, this is a great book.
That said, WARNING: There is explicit sex in the book that may offend some readers.
Draekons from the beginning
WOW! I love that Lili Zander and Lee Savino have found a way to keep the Draekon saga going! This first novel in the spin -off series, Rebel Force, introduces us to the beginnings of the Draekon story, as we meet the original genetically engineered captive warriors who propel the Zorahn Empire into galaxy-wide political and military power. In particular, this is the story of Second – the second created warrior, and his struggle for independence, love, and redemption. The story is told from his POV and that of Alice Hernandes, the human woman whose rescue is his first mission, and his ticket to the new life he never dreamed he could have. Lots of suspense, sexual tension, violent action and tender moments – I give this one a 5-star and I pledge to keep reading the series.
I really liked the first Draekon series but this new one, Rebel Force, blows it out of the water.
This series is about the six original Draekons manufactured in the lab and trained by the Supreme Mother to be killing machines and the best warriors in existence. After 1000 years in stasis they are awakened to rescue human women kidnapped and imprisoned by the Zorahn scientists. This book is about Second/Kadir and his mate Alice Hernandez.
Alice was an ER doctor in Chicago before being kidnapped, imprisoned and tortured for seven months. Kadir rescues her and and her cellmate. Their journey to the rebel stronghold is fraught with danger as the Zorahn scientists and Blood Heat try to kill Alice. They finally get to the rebel base with Alice’s cellmate Tanya to find other human women there. Tanya is suffering from a bad case of PTSD and is under treatment. Kadir is asked to train the rebel forces to fight after they are targeted by Blood Heat and First, a psychotic original Draekon. Alice has been tasked with training to be a healer for the rebels. Kadir and two other Draekons have to leave for a mission to save a lab full of Draekons on another pkanet, but it turns out to be a trap set by First to get Kadir to join him. When Kadir refuses First attacks the other Draekons almost killing one. They make it back to the rebel base to heal. Kadir gets a package containing another of the rescued humans from his brother Ruhan who is pursuing a pirate ship holding Lani captive. Highly recommend the book and series.
This book is easy to get lost in, I did. Kadir comes off as a dangerous tool, a pet unleashed but barely trustworthy. But that’s before we get to know the real him. Alice is spunky, brave, and a survivor. When they meet, it’s like all the puzzle pieces finally come together. Alice and Kadir are a perfect couple, but people and events are constantly trying to pull them apart. I loved this book for so many reasons and now I’m looking forward to reading more of this series!
THIS amazing book takes Alien to another level. I loved this book right from the beginning when it drew me in and held on tight for the entire ride. Action, intense, drama, hot, sexy aliens what more can you ask for? Can’t wait for #2.
“Draekon Warrior” is the first story in the new series ‘Rebel Force” and it does not disappoint! The continuation of the stories about our amazing Draekon Dragons is easy and natural with new twists. We are introduced to first generation Draekons, who were tortured by the scientists and suffered a lot.
The five Draekons have been rescued and are tasked with finding abducted women. They are fearsome, strong, sexy warriors who have an amazing unbreakable bond.
Alice is a human who has been kept, experimented on and tortured by the Zorahn. They are now leaving the lab and can’t sell Alice since is damaged. She is left tied up with no food or water and therefore, vulnerable and alone. Fortunately, Kadir finds her and saves her but she is leery of trusting another Alien…….Yes, they start off on shaky ground and this adds to the creative, well thought our plot. Alice is small but strong and feisty! Kadir is amazed and confused that this little human doesn’t fear him. Kadir perseveres because his job is to save her and he keeps her with him. As, they make their escape from the planet, the attraction between them grows, becomes electric and the sparks fly!
I loved this story of the strong, frightening Draekon Dragons. I can’t wait to read the stories of the other four! Lili Zander, Lee Savino, you have brought us another exciting action story with sexy characters and scenes! I could say more but, it’s time for you to pick up the book and enjoy!!
I’ve read all of the Draekon books in the previous series & have enjoyed all of them. However, this first book in a new spin-off series has to have my absolute favourite couple! I adored Kadir & Alice & loved the interaction between them right from the start. I loved the fun in their conversations. Honestly, I could have just kept reading this book, I just didn’t want it to end.
The best thing about Draekon Warrior is the combined strength and insecurity of its hero and heroine. I loved that Alice survived unimaginable torture and fought through that to remain engaged in the world around her. And the way she stood up to Kadir, continually challenging him in both teasing and forthright ways, was fantastic. Kadir, being an engineered super soldier, comes across as 100% confident in his own abilities and possessing a sly, arch sense of humor. But we quickly learn that he isn’t viewed as a true sentient being by those who created him, and that fundamental insecurity leads him to question everything. Alice is insecure as well, in her looks and in her abilities as a doctor, especially compared to the medical abilities of the Zorahn race. Kadir views himself as less than a person, as something to be pulled out, used, and put away. The fact that he names himself “Kadir” because no one bothered to give him (or the other warriors of his squadron) a name is a telling action, and the moments where Kadir starts to share that name publicly are some of the most affirming in Draekon Warrior. When you have two people who are both strong and weak but who find a balance in one another, you’ve got something truly engaging.
Familiar elements of the Draekon shifter mentality are brought into play in a new way with Kadir, who has to deal with constant pain and discovers that being with Alice alleviates that. So each takes comfort in one another, each teases the other, and each challenges the other. The combination of respect, enjoyment, and trust that they display makes their evolving relationship a joy to read.
There are some things I questioned about this book. Kadir and his companions have been in stasis for 1,000 years. Even having Kadir uploaded with information about the time between their last sentient state and now, I found his adjustment a bit too smooth. I expected to see him struggle with the changes in his society and the universe, and I hope that’s something Savino and Zander explore in future books in this series. And some details in Draekon Warrior didn’t connect—for example, Kadir doesn’t want to abandon a valuable ship, but when it’s destroyed, no one shows concern about this in the least.
But when you have two fantastic leads and an exciting story about the changing environment in Savino and Zander’s Draekon/Zorahn world, you’ve got an excellent book. The direction of the Draekon/Zorahn battle shifts in Draekon Warrior, so finding out more about that (and the story of First, the leader of Kadir’s warrior cadre) will keep me coming back to future books.
One note: although this is the first book in the Rebel Force series, I highly recommend reading the books in the Dragons in Exile series first to gain a full understanding of the struggle between the Draekons and the Zorahns.
Draekon Warrior is the first book in the Rebel Force series, connected to the Dragons in Exile world. Alice has been tortured and sold, and just as she’s left to die, Kadir comes to rescue her. But Alice is no damsel in distress and she’s not afraid of Kadir. When danger comes, will Kadir keep Alice safe and his heart intact?
Oh wow, what a way to start this new series off with a bang! Alice and Kadir are such warriors, both in their own right, and I absolutely loved their fight and their passion! Alice is feisty, doesn’t care about other’s opinions, and I love that she stands up to and for Kadir! For a warrior who has been encapsulated for the past thousand years, Kadir was amazing, sensitive, such a good guy just wrapped in a bad reputation and battle wounds. I absolutely loved their connection, I loved how they bantered with each other, but also trusted one another. They really built each other up! The danger in this book is absolutely intriguing, and I like that there will seem to be an overarching enemy for this series! I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds, and in the mean time, I absolutely love this book and would read it again and again!
