Doctor by day.
Vigilante by night.
Robert lives a double life in New York City. He spends his days treating patients at the St. Jude’s Hospital ER and his nights going after the psychopaths who wrong them: the child molesters, wife beaters, and rapists. But when the fiery, beautiful new social worker discovers his secret identity and their love affair takes off, Robert is forced to face some hard … hard questions:
Do the ends justify the means?
After years of hunting down psychopaths, is Robert turning into one himself?
An action thriller with strong, distinct characters, filled with suspense and surprise, Dr. Vigilante is also a love story unfolding amid the turmoil and drama of a busy ER.

The book was quite interesting about a doctor who is a vigilante….and you think it is one doctor when actually it is someone else. Decent writing and interesting.
A page turner, though rather unbelieable
This one will keep you turning pages
I worked as a Trauma nurse for many years. I know the work in our Trauma designated emergency rooms is very difficult, but I thought the vigilante doctor was a bit unbelievable. However knowing the people causing the deaths and injuries were being dealt with quickly and justly was a nice touch.
Enjoyed it – not too sure about the ending tho.
Not even close to being believable. Very disappointing. Would not recommend this book.
One hardly thinks of a doctor dedicated to saving lives would be a by night vigilante dispensing justice for the abused and marginalized. It was a quick one night read. There are more books in the series but so many unready books still saved on my Kindle. I decided to tackle the unread books instead.
Dr. Vigilante – a compassionate doctor by day – a defender of the underdog by night. A great story – maybe a little too much medical information from time to time, but very engaging characters and a story line that held my attention from start to finish. I have already purchased the next two in the series and haven’t finished them yet, but if they are as good as the first, I will be sure to look for more books by this author.
Very usual plot which captures your attention and you want to keep reading to see what happens next. It was so engrossing that I had to read the next 2 books in the series immediately because I just couln’t wait to see what happens next and what was the unexpected ending. Thoroughly fascinating.
Love this Dr! I had to read all the books in the series!
I enjoyed reading Dr. Vigilante. Very good character development and the ending was unexpected.
The characters in this book are somewhat believable. Sharon was eager to help people, and new to the city. As a social worker, she had grand ideas of helping the helpless. And then comes reality…she works in a hospital that’s over worked and under staffed in a very brutal city. Then there’s doctor McKenzie who is a rude know it all who under cuts all the other doctors in the ER. He does know a lot but comes off as a first class jerk. The idea of him having a soft human side seems far fetched. And a doctor attacking people (although they truly deserve it) just seems off to me. I thought this book would be better, but it just wasn’t.
I enjoy stories related to hospital medicine. This book had interesting characters and a good story.
Page turner
I loved this series and consider it a true thriller!
The twists and turns keep the reader in suspense. The “ending ” may or may not be the ending. Enjoyable book from beginning to end.
Love the characters and the writing style. Most vengeful stories are told in a rather flat footed style and no redeeming qualities other than vengeance itself. This story and the two that follow, Dr. Vigilante 2@3 offer some food for the soul as well. All good reads. Enjoy.
Gregory House crossed with Repairman Jack – because those are two favorite characters of mine – I loved this story. Very entertaining, and flowed easily – lots of action. Always good to see the bad-guys get it.
I really enjoyed this story. You can’t wait to see how it ends so you just keep reading. The characters are well described and easy to keep up with. Pretty much action with a little romance. The end left me guessing but there is another book.
Interesting take on the vigilante concept considering the lead character is a doctor. And a very athletic one at that. The medical descriptions are very good and detailed but not to the point of being confusing or boring, they contribute to the story line in a way I haven’t seen before.
