Absolutely fantastic story. Violet and Luke are too cute, they started off on an extremely rock road, but they soon discover they found something they were both missing. I enjoyed every second of this story.
To be honest, I read this book years ago, but never left a review. That was a mistake on my part. I believe this series should be read by all. Winter Travers is a wonderful storyteller, I cannot get enough of her books.
I am a big fan of the Fast And Furious movies too and I can definitely see where Winter Travers got her inspiration for this book. I mean really. Who wouldn’t want a Dom Torreto look a like in a street racing story? But then again is it the character or the actor playing the character the author was picturing as her muse? Or maybe a little of both? I guess it all depends on what Vin Diesel is like in person. Well on with the review.
For the record, I think I have read DownShift 2 or 3 times since I got it last April. I guess I really like the story line, interesting. Might have something to do with that Fast And Furious thing or it could be that the characters are so freaking awesome. Yeah, Luke is a first-class jack ass but at least he owns when he is wrong. Besides one of his little brothers has him beat in the jack ass department; I won’t tell you which one because you’ll have more fun reading the book. I will tell you there is a doornob in the story who is a real cow faced cow. Then there is Violet, shy and unassuming with huge heart of gold and it is a real shame that Luke waisted so much time being an asshat.
Clearly, I really like DownShift, Oh did I mention that I got the other 2 books in the series to read? They are on my list just not sure when I will get to them.

This is a fantastic start to a new series! The characters have such heart and goodness to them that I was attached immediately. Violet is a quiet librarian, living a solitary life with her books. I love the connection and bond that was created with Frankie. Luke is Frankie’s older brother and meeting him is a whirlwind of emotions. He’s a strong willed man with a giant heart and very protective. Violet and Luke have a slow burn, and they are good together. They have both experienced loss and pain. I really enjoyed the story and I am looking forward to more about Luke’s brothers, Mitch and Kurt.
I love this story and can’t wait to get to read the next 2 stories in this series. Cute romance with some real life problems.
Romance between very different people, but it works!
I really enjoyed reading this book.
love the book
Really enjoyed this book. Good characters that went well together. The story kept me interested from start to finish. Looking forward to more from this author
Wow!!! As soon as finished first book in this series I bought the others. Good read. If you do read this book take all day off and just read.
Cool story
This was a good book. No drama though. So if your looking for an easy, light no frills romance, this is it. I read the whole series and enjoyed each one.
I enjoyed the story BUT – Please hire someone to proofread that knows what they are doing. Sooo many errors! Distracting and irritating to read.
Characters are great. Love the relationships between the siblings, how they work together, look after each other, yet still continue to have issues like any other family. I learned a lot about street drags. Fun and sexy read and you will love this book and the following 2 books in the series.
Great story line
Can’t wait to read more of these
Cute story. Loved the characters.
Great story
I liked this book because it held my attention, characters are realistic- I just enjoyed reading the whole series. One thing that really stood out to me was the author’s incorrect use of the pronouns I & me. If you’re going to write a book – even just an ebook you need to use proper grammar
Predictable and weak in vocabulary. Really, there are going to be 3 of these in the series?
in the start of the book it was funny, and had a believable story line…however towards the middle it became more cheesy and cliche.
