This book has me laughing out loud. It captured you from the beginning with its funny antidotes but feel in love with the team.
After the last book, I could not wait to read Jr “Ace” Anderson’s book. He caused some trouble at Western and felt pretty much forced out and this is where this book picks up. He’s at Southern U. He’s a quarterback, a party boy and an ultimate player. Bryant enters his life and his life old way of life changes. But to her Ace is just a project to her, nothing more, nothing less. She flips is world upside down, he doesn’t know what to make of it, but goes along with it. There were lots of laughs, heartwarming moments between these two, and super steamy romance. Or love making as Bryant would say. It was nice to see Ace find himself and to find a new family with his (new) teammates. Highly enjoyable story.
*5 Stars*
I was a bit weary of reading this book because of the way that I absolutely DESPISED Ace in the previous one. I’m thinking to myself, no way will I like a book about that guy. He’s horrible. But man was I wrong! Jen Frederick not only turned him around, she made him into a character that I completely fell in love with. I didn’t see it coming, but she did it.
I really enjoyed reading Ace and Bryants story, and I loved all the moments where we got to know the other guys on the team, and Bryants family as well. This was really more than just a story about these two main characters, it was about being part of a team as well.
I don’t want to ruin anything, so I’ll just say I loved it and highly recommend!
Read: 12/5/16
So I put off reading this book for a long time (like a REALLY long time). Because I didn’t want to read about Ace. He’s an a-hole and a douchecanoe! He didn’t deserve a happy ending.
I was never so happy to be proven wrong.
Ace redeemed himself so hard. And his heroine Bryant? Well she was perfection personified. I want to be her. I loved seeing Ace stay true to his a-holeness, but in a good way (if that makes sense?). Ace never became this amazing good guy – his hard edges softened a bit towards Bryant and that was enough for me. Best of the series yet!
I may live in Australia but I love NFL, Go Dallas Cowboys and I love reading books with this sport and learning about this sport.
Well Jen Frederick didn’t disappoint whatsoever, there are so many things I loved about this novel, and especially the way it started I was laughing through that whole chapter what a great way to get the audience hooked into the book.
I fell in love Bryant she was so sugary and so sweet and I love nothing more than her southern charm. She was such a beautiful character and I loved how she wanted everyone to be nice, and act like human beings should. She had such a special heart and who can blame her for feeling guarded with what she had been through.
Well Ace he was sort of special, he was not very well liked in the previous book he was in and we all know that his character needed to be redeemed. What a way to redeem a character Ace was perfect from the start and I really loved getting to know Ace especially with what he went through with his dad, his previous schools and always getting in trouble. Well Ace turned out exactly how I wanted him too, no one’s perfect and the author certainly wrote this perfectly throughout the book.
I loved the idea of this story and I loved the chemistry between the, characters, I loved all the side characters even when the relationship between Ace and the other boys were at their worst. I loved the back and forth between the boys on the team and with Ace and Bryant it was perfect.
If you want a book, that will make you laugh, cry, cheer and you love the sport genre then this is the book for you, if you have read Sacked and Jocked get this baby you won’t regret it and if you haven’t read the first to drop everything and read this series it’s awesome
This book deserves more 50 thousand stars such a joy to read. Thank you so much Jen Frederick for giving me the chance to receive and early copy and read
The first line of the blurb pretty much summed up how I felt about Ace going into his story. I didn’t like him. He’s cocky, arrogant, and wasn’t really all that great of a friend. But I did my best to stay openminded. I loved the first books in the Gridiron series and I had a feeling I would have a complete change of heart about Ace after getting into his head. That feeling was absolutely right. I need a stronger word than redemption because the way I feel about Ace now is pretty much on level with Knox and Matty.
I can’t wait to read Ty’s story. I may have come late to the Gridiron party but I am so very grateful that I found this fantastic series!!
