5+ STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
This book, where to even start. This book caused me to feel so many things. First was anger. I was totally mad at Imogen. Then it was hurt. My heart hurt for Theo. Then my heart hurt for Imogen. I felt love, the love these two have/had for each other was undeniable. Carrie Aarons made me feel all these emotions within just the first chapter. I couldn’t believe how overcome I was by Carrie’s words. Once I started Down We’ll Come, Baby, I could not put it down. In fact I tried. I started this book before going to bed, only to wake up at 2am thinking about these two and needed, no craving to know more about them and their story.
I can’t begin to tell you have this book made me feel. Imogen just wants to find her place. Her place within her family has never been solid. She wants to know where her place is as a woman. Being unable to have a child will destroy anyone’s spirit, but to have it ripped away from you hurts like nothing you could ever imagine. She’s jealous. And I get that. I’ve been there. I know how she feels. You watch the world around you having babies and getting pregnant, and it hurts. It’s not fair. You can’t be a good friend, wife, or partner like that. My heart broke for Imogen. She just wants to belong. She just wants to see her value. It’s hard when you feel so broken. She thinks she doing the right thing, but is she really?
And Theo…let’s not forget this glorious man. He loves his wife. Her family, not so much. They’ve made him into something he’s not. He has no desire to be their puppet any longer. But he needs to, just until Imogen and figure out her way. Once she has, all bets are off. This man is the ultimate picture of devotion, dedication, and true love. Were there things in their life these two could have changed? Of course. Were there things these two needed to work through? Again, absolutely. But Theo never truly gave up on Imogen. And it was that love that kept him going.
I don’t want to spoil this story for you. I want you to read it and fall in love with Theo and Imogen like I did. Reading this book, was hard for me, but it also opened my eyes. It made me stop and think about Theo and how he felt. How life had been so emotional for his as well. Please read this amazing book. I look forward to more to come from Carrie Aarons.
3.5* Absolutely adored Theo! He would have done anything for his wife and he proved this time and time again. Imogen got on my very last nerve. She knew she had a good man BUT she was bound and determined to get the blessings of her family. Her family were stuck up snobs and didn’t care about what she wanted since it didn’t fit into their life style.
I was so pissed that Imogen could do what she was doing to Theo. UGH she was getting on my last nerve and wanted to smack some sense into her. Well at least a very stern talking to. It’s like you’re an adult! Get over not being the favorite! Who cares if you’re not the favorite of your mom and dad? You’re the favorite of your husband who is your family!!!! Get your poop in a group before you lose him for good!!!
Did she get her poop in a group before Theo gave her the divorce she desperately wanted? Read it to find out!

5++++ Stars
Oh my stars!! What a roller coaster of emotions! It is sooooo good! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! The story was so good that it captivated my interest throughout. I definitely didn’t want to put it down or wanted it to end!
“He might be the luckiest man on the planet, but I was the luckiest person.”
Very highly recommend!! Can not wait for the authors next book!
****3.5 stars****
This was a heartfelt tale of love, heartbreak, disappointment, and perseverance. It deals with the sensitive and heartbreaking subject of infertility. I thought the author did a great job of conveying the feelings of the characters and what they went through. The plot was great and well-written. It was very realistic. I would recommend reading this book!

There were times when I loved and hated this book.
Once I understood the main reason for Imogen
walking away and leaving everything (trying to) she
loved behind, I understood her a little better. Poor Theo
though, I think he hurt the most because she wasn’t
communicating her thoughts and feelings to him.
I think the author did a great job describing what
sometimes happen to couples who go through loss &
just get burned out even though they still love each
other. Her family’s interference didn’t help, and Imogen’s
Insistence on trying to prove herself to them didn’t help either.
But the ending was so worth it
5 STARS
“Love has never, in my life, burned so bright.”
Oh my…did this book give me all the feels!!!! To feel like you actually bore witness to their pain and sorrow through infertility and how that affects the state of their once, at first sight love-filled marriage. The author did an amazing job of conveying what happens when there is a lack of emotional communication and the outcome of the overwhelming need to be polite to ease another’s feelings. You will experience the journey Imogen and Theo endure and if they can weather the storm of separation!
“Not a new start, but a turn of a page. A patch of clean sand after the waves of a storm have ravaged the beach.”
Imogen Weston Walsh is the main female character who finally finds the strength to lead her own life despite her blue blood lines.
“Sometimes beginnings hurt, and it was strange to get used to a new way of life. But what drowned that fear, that pain, was excitement. The knowledge that what was about to start was going to be the best chapter you’d come to thus far.”
If I didn’t love my husband as much as I do…I think I would fall in love with Theo Walsh. He is the epitome of a broody, yet manly man who is loyal and oh so romantic! He is the definition of a dream husband.
“From the beginning, I’ve said it … whatever she needs, I will give it to her. Not that my happiness isn’t important, because over the course of the last couple months, I’ve learned that I need to listen to my own heart … but I will always put her first. That’s what a man does when he is in love.”
Overall, this book is a truly EPIC read. I would definitely recommend this. Thank you to the author, Ms. Aarons and Inkslinger PR for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Down We’ll Come, Baby by Carrie Aarons will join he ranks of BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
This story was heartbreaking because of what this couple was going through. Imogen comes from a wealthy family and her father is ruthless. Doesn’t care about his daughter’s feelings and/or her knack of intelligence. She is quipped to take over the position that she has worked so hard for in her father’s company but he keeps making it hard for her to get it.
Imogen falls in love with a towny, a blue collared man that her parents do not approve of. They want her to marry within their social status but she can’t help that she fell in love with Theo Walsh, a construction worker.
Theo knew what he was getting himself into. He didn’t care because he fell for this woman hard. He would do anything for her even take a position with a company that he hated because her father demanded it. Theo put up a lot but he did it because he loved Imogen.
When their marriage started falling apart, Imogen had a lot of thinking to do, is it worth her getting that position at her father’s company over making her marriage work?
These two individuals had a lot to learn and maybe they did so while they were separated. Imogen had to decide if she wanted to keep her good graces with her family and follow all their rules or did she want to lose that position and stay happy with the man she loved?
Theo was a very loving man. For as much as he hated her lifestyle, he would tolerate it for her. But the question is, would Imogen be happy in a normal, ordinary life without all the luxuries? When you are born and bred with a spoon in your mouth, I think it’s hard to leave that kind of lifestyle for just a plain ordinary one where you’re both hard working and make just enough to pay your bills and put food on your table, so I get where Imogen was conflicted.
I thought this was a short and sweet book that taught some life lessons. Made me think what would I do if I was put in the same position.
k a couple. It just strengthens them.

This story pulled out every emotion I have in me. From anger to sadness to heartfelt reunion, acceptance and forgiveness.
You will judge a story and its characters based from their decisions and just from their character itself but what we forgot was that it’s not us feeling their emotions; being blinded and controlled by it.
The author managed to show and tell in this story how it can be and how it envelopes your heart and soul and consumes you wholly. If you will let it.
Such a heart-ripping story, this book will touch you in ways that will just make you feel all the gosh-dang pain and feel it like that pain belongs to you. Like that pain owns you. And it will. Because it was told that way. To make you see and understand both sides of the characters. To know and feel and understand their pains and sufferings.
It was beautifully woven by the author. Intricately done to make you feel like what her characters were feeling.
And just like storms, it may wreck us, break us, tore our foundations apart and give us this trepidation that we can’t make it. But like every other storm, we can survive it. We can protect ourselves from it and be a shelter to others.
That’s what these couples did. They survived their storm. Now it’s your turn to witness it.
Okay I have to say this first that I LOVED and HATED this story. It made me mad, pissed off, and cry and then laugh and smile at some of the things that happened to this couple. I have to say that I really hated Imogen at first. She was elfish and she wanted what she wanted and did not care if it hurt anyone to get it. I wanted to jump threw my kindle and biatch slap her a few times. She comes from money and when she marries someone who doesn’t have money but is willing to work his arse off to get her everything she wanted she still wasn’t happy.
I loved loved Theo. He stole my heart from the first page because he was a hard worker and knew what he wanted and went after it even though he knew they would never work out but he still pursued Imogen and when he got her he was happy. His life was complete and he needed for nothing as long as long as he had her.
Then his world changed one day when Imogen wanted a divorce so she could get a top position in her fathers company and get in her families good graces. Imogen is willing to threw it all away to get what she wants and that breaks Theo’s heart but she asks him to do one thing for her and he agrees as long as she agrees to do what he wants once the deal is over.
This story really surprised me at the end and I was glad I did not give up on it because I will say that I almost gave up on this book because it pissed me off so bad and I really HATED Imogen! But I was so happy with the ending that I am so glad I finished it. So give it a go and one click it because you will enjoy it. It is so real life that you will be invested in this couple.
Imogen is royalty. Not monarch kind of royalty, but her family is rich. She was groomed to be one of the top officers in her family’s company when she fell in love with Theo, a construction worker. She was happy, he made her happy. But things do come to an end. Before it does though, she needs one more favor from her before she truly let him go. A favor that would solidify her place in her family’s empire. What happens though when things are not going as planned? When a certain surprise comes along the way?
Theo is dreamy. Hardworker, and he’d do anything from Imogen. Give up his home, his dreams, basically everything for her. Now, she’s leaving him. What happened to till-death-do-us-part? He loves her, so much that he was willing to do this one last favor for her even if it kills him.
This is what reality looks like sometimes. When all the fun, the grand wedding and honeymoon phase fades – and reality crawls into your relationship surprising you in every turn. Sometimes, it’s okay. Sometimes it could be fun, but sometimes it call also hurt, causes pain, and so much trouble. Sometimes, you’d just ask – if love was enough to save the relationship?
This book started painfully, it seeps into your soul and make you bleed. It’s raw, the emotions felt real and powerful and you can’t do anything but sit and watch everything crumble piece by piece. How can two people who are so in love with each other reach to that certain point in their lives? When one promises forever, it supposed to last. But what happens when it doesn’t?
Down We’ll Come, Baby is a story of love, what happens when trials and tribulations are thrown in a relationship, what happens when love seems lost, what happens when people with fight with everything that they have to save a relationship.
I really enjoyed Down with love not only because of Carrie Aarons writing style she makes you fall for the characters while hurting with them through the journey . The little flashes we get of Imogen and Theos past brighten while making my heart brake at the same time for the love / passion those two shared . The couple was very likable but at times very frustrating to the point were I wanted to shake them together but in a way they needed this to get the incite on what they could possible lose . It was also perfect that this is told in dual point of views we get to see how the couple is handling everything that’s crumbling and rebuilding itself through their thoughts / feelings . I think it’s a interesting take on romance genre the couple already have found a happy ending but this goes further into what happens after you find that happy ever after . Imogen was a hard nut to crack at first but once you get through the hard shell you find insecurity , guilt , and loss my heart really went out for her . OH MY THEO what a hero he has done everything he could possibly do for the heroine but while also being selfless it has caused a wall to gradually build between them I did like how he didn’t want to give up his soul mate no matter what her family or she tried to pool but I’m also glad he didn’t become a doormat . These two just needed to communicate more and I think this needed to happen for them to let out what they were holding back from one another . The heat is a bit steamy only two almost three sex scenes would have loved to have read the coat closet hookup it was fun to be teased by it though . I hope this isn’t the last we see of these two I’d really like to see how they are doing . Carrie Aarons is a author you really don’t want to miss out on .

This book was an amazing departure from Aarons’ normal books. I love her YA writings, but this book was on another level. It was gritty and raw and damn near painful in its brutal honesty. So, I loved it. I loved how she let each character’s emotions and thoughts bleed from the pages. You can feel their indecision, sacrifices, love, and sense of obligation.
They are all caught in the crosshairs of responsibility, family, and expectations. What’s funny is that many times these expectations are self-perceived, which impact familial relationships, roles, and responsibilities. The way Aarons tied it all together with perfect timing and tortured hearts made the books so stand out.
What I learned from Imogen, Theo, and Aarons is that self-sacrifice without communication will always lead to unhappiness and bumps in the road. If only we can listen to our hearts and be honest with ourselves before embarking upon major decisions.
Aarons kept me glued to this book and I couldn’t wait to see where this story would go. Gah, I can’t wait until she writes her next book!!
Carrie Aarons touching on a tragic and heartbreaking problem. Infertility. It drives people in all sorts of directions. In this case, it drives them apart. Down We’ll Come, Baby had me crying at the utter heartbreak. I lost it at a simply worded ultimatum. Actually there were several times I needed tissues.
It’s real. It’s raw. It’s endearing – even if her family is NOT. Theo is wonderful. Together they are special…apart they are crumbling.
Let Carrie Aaron’s put you back together one revelation at a time.

Down We’ll Come, Baby by Carrie Aarons was an emotional journey. A couple on the brink of divorce, could this be their chance to rediscover what they lost? Is it worth saving or is it too late already? The love was once there. What happened? In this story we meet Theo Walsh and Imogen Weston and experience their love, loss and hopelessness both in the past and present. A story about choices, heartbreak and maybe second chances.
I will say Theo was amazing. He was honest, caring and ready to do whatever it took to make Imogen happy, even if it meant walking away. Imogen on the other hand did not realize what she had right in front of her. She let others decide what was best and for that, she almost lost what matters most. I must admit, at times I did not like always like Imogen and what she was willing to do for what she thought had to be done. But this was their journey and they had to find their own way.
Down We’ll Come, baby by Carrie Aarons was heartbreaking and at times had me wanting to throw my eReader with frustration. It is was angsty and had me wondering how it will all end, but is definitely one you need to experience from start to finish!

Happy reading!
So Carrie Aarons does it again and plays with my emotions with this book! I did not expect anything else less! So I have to be honest and say, my first impression of Imogen was not the best. I was already cursing her every name in the book and was heart broken for Theo. First word that came to my mind was selfish. I just was not so sure how I would be able to get through this book in one piece.
Then you start to uncover the truth. Her truth. There were a few things that she was doing that was very questionable. In the end, she won me over. Theo shows the reader unconditional love, but for what price.
Down We’ll Come, Baby will have you in turmoil and fall in love! I had to read this book in one reading and will have days to come that these characters will stay with me!
4.5 Hearts
Down We’ll Come, Baby is Carrie Aaron’s next emotional, sexy, and fun standalone. I actually didn’t even read the synopsis so I went in totally blind. I did however know there was a ruggedly handsome man involved. I mean, damn. This cover is delicious and so is Theo Walsh.
After four years of marriage, Imogen walks out the door while her husband, Theo was still asleep in their bed. She still loved him and always would but she couldn’t do it anymore. The money. The job issues. The infertility. It was all too much over the last two years. It wasn’t that they didn’t have money. It was that they had too much. Her trust fund was not without expectations. Ones she was used to, growing up wealthy she knew the game. As for Theo, he grew up on the other side of it. All he cared about was her. And if that meant he had to work at a job he hated, he would. If it meant going to ridiculous parties, he would put on his tux. But, what he never expected was to give up on them and for him to make her promise to never look back. That is exactly what he had to do when she asked him for one last favor.
The favor was to pretend to still be in love. The still being in love was easy. Love was still there. It was the rest of it. The reasoning behind it. Her family’s reputation. Her rightful place in the family dynasty. He felt second best when it came to them. He would do anything for her except give up. It wasn’t over yet. Four months. That’s it then it would be final. They would be done. He could go back to his home on Nantucket and be the man she fell in love with. Without her.
It was love at first sight for Theo and Imogen. It was a whirlwind of love, lust, and marriage. Her family was against them from the very beginning. Theo didn’t have the money, power, and family name. He had a cottage, a construction job, and was an orphan. Imogen didn’t care about why he didn’t have, she only cared about what he did have. Her heart. Her body. And her soul. She thought what they had was enough. But the last two years were full of heartache, loss, and the same fights over and over again. She hated seeing him unhappy. She felt she had to walk away. And so she did. But now, she had to live with him after she left him. It was going to be torture but will it be worth it?
These two have some obstacles to jump. Big ones. I felt their love throughout the book. I also felt their pain. Like I said, I didn’t read the synopsis so it was a shock to me. A divorce? In the beginning of a romance book? I have to see how this plays out and Carrie did a fabulous job. I will tell you not to give up. The beginning is rough. I wanted to smack Imogen more than once. I had some words for her. I was not a fan. Don’t give up!! I didn’t and I loved it. I swooned hard for Theo. He is so in love with his wife.
Overall…it’s a journey full of loss, love, family, and forgiveness. It’s a story I was not expecting. I should have known it was going to have a twist since Carrie’s books are always unique. It’s one of the reasons why I love them.
P.S. and what they say is true. Money does not buy happiness.
Quotes:
I’ll grin and bear it, just like I always have, but don’t start lying to me. Don’t start being a Weston until you completely walk away from being a Walsh.
I’m so emotionally pained that I can feel the sorrow slosh through my veins as if it’s replacing my blood. I feel like if she touches me, I’ll shatter into a thousand pieces, I’m so fragile.
“Oh, fuck all of that. I hate when you go all Weston on me.”
“Language!” I scold her.
“And fuck your language rules, too.
He knew on their first date that she was “the one”.
A whirlwind romance, and a year later she held his surname in the event of the year.
Their lives were always world’s apart. She was an upper class princess and he a lowly townie.
Enough tears to fill an ocean, enough pain to shatter the strongest of minds.
All the fight is gone, the battle is lost, as she walks out the door …
Oh my poor heart! What a read this was. So emotional, and heart breaking.
They gave up so much to be with each other. My heart felt like it was about to break and yes, tissues were needed. You have been warned!
Imogen so fragile on the surface but with the heart of a warrior. She is truly an inspiration.
Theo is the ideal husband. His wife is his life, his everything and his love for her knows no bounds.
I swooned over Theo and his love of Imogen no matter what. He is everything you want in a forever partner.
Such a heart wrenching story. Their sadness became my own. Tears spilled at their pain and devastation.
The sun sets but is then followed by a new dawn… beautiful and completely sums this book up.
Carrie has completely outdone herself with this book. Raised the bar, hit the ball out of the park.. I could go on but you get the idea..
There isn’t a single thing I would change about this.. complete and utter perfection and 5 stars is simply not enough!!
This book confirms what I already knew…Carrie Aarons is a must read author! Initially, this book might seem predictable, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised because in true Carrie Aarons fashion, she gives us something unique and beautiful.
A rich girl and a boy from the other side of the tracks meet, fall madly in lust and then hopelessly in love almost immediately. Against her parents’ wishes, they get married. Sound familiar? Sound like a romance you’ve read probably more than once? Well, for Imogen and Theo’s, this may be the premise of their story, but that’s where the similarities end. This is a story about what happens after the “I do’s”, and it’s not always pretty or easy. The story isn’t sugarcoated with untruths, it grabs your heart and doesn’t let go!
DOWN WE’LL COME, BABY by Carrie Aarons is the story of Imogen Weston and Theo Walsh.
Their story starts about 5 years into their marriage and we see how they have been dealing with their different personalities and backgrounds. Imogen is from a very rich and prominent where Theo was from a hard working class family. Imogen parents were not happy that they married and made sure Imogen knew. Theo tried to make Imogen and her family happy by living in the home they wanted them to live and the job. Imogen never really cut the strings that her parents kept her under and she finally went back to her parents.
This is a refreshing take on a romance of two people that do love each other but life issues and other people have pulled them apart…and we see them slowly working back to the basic love they have.
Really Enjoyed their story!
This story was amazing, I loved everything about it. The characters went through so much and while I wanted to fling my kindle on the ground and then step on it, I couldn’t put it down.
