ImogenThere is no way we can still love and cherish one and other. When I married Theo Walsh, the rough, bearded townie who worked construction on my family’s summer house, I’d found my happily ever after. That was before the fighting. Before the jealousy. Before the infertility. We’ll be divorced long before death does us part. But to secure my place in the family dynasty, there is just one more … part.
But to secure my place in the family dynasty, there is just one more hoop I have to jump through. And I need him to do it.
Faking the marriage we once thrived in will gut me.
Especially with the secret I’m carrying.
Theo
I would have sacrificed for her until the end of time.
My job.
My home.
My happiness.
I’d given it all up to marry her. That’s how much I loved Imogen Weston, the daughter to one of the world’s richest families.
From the day we met, I’d done nothing but try to live up to the man she expected to be with. And now, I was done.
Sure, I’d complete this one final ask of hers, even if it destroyed me.
But I’ve made her promise the one thing that might save me. She swore that after she got everything she ever wanted, she wouldn’t look back.
I made my wife vow to leave me forever.

I really enjoyed this book. Watching a married couple having to overcome so much is real life. And I love when a book is so realistic. This book was angsty and will take your emotions on a roller coaster ride. Imogene and Theo was both written so well that I instantly fell in love with the characters. There story was so amazing. That I didn’t want this story to end but I knew it was time when I got to the last page. This author made the emotions worth it in the end and I can’t wait to check out other books by this author.
I havent read many books by Carrie and will definitely want to read more from her. I really enjoyed this book so much.
The characters, the family rivalry, the sadness, the sizzling tension, the whole storyline grabbed my attention and I finished the book in one sitting.
What I loved was the fact that Theo and Imogen just had a real connection that despite what happens maybe they will come out stronger on the other side?? Make your own decision when you read it for yourself.
I throughly enjoyed it!!
A thought-provoking and intense story.
Down We’ll Come, Baby is the most riveting, angsty, heart-rending story that I’ve ever read from Carrie Aarons. It was a lot different from the books I’m used to getting from this amazingly talented author. Not even Privilege and Elite came close to this one on the roller-coaster scale and they were pretty full on at times.
I was drawn deep into the story from the outset, even though Imogen drove me mad at times with her choices and decisions. Theo, though, he was a sweetheart, it was clear how much her loved his wife and that he’d do everything he could for her. Until nothing was good enough.
This story holds no bars, it’s rough, it’s harsh. It shine a very bright and glaring light on how a marriage can hit the rocks. But, the true beauty came from the redemption and reflections of the characters as the waded through all this drama. There’s so much I could say, but you know- spoilers. And anyway, you really need to read this yourself. Find a hidden corner, One-Click Down We’ll Come, Baby, then grab some tissues, a comforting drink and a snack, because you’ll be there until the very last word.
The love and the hurt were so solid that I could chew on the angst that was created.
When I first read the blurb to this book, I couldn’t sign up to review it fast enough!!! How can the deepest, purest and most sincere of loves be reduced to a promise to Theo, that she finally and absolutely leave and divorce him, with no contact ever again???
The Prologue threw me in at the beginning of their heartbreak.
Told in my favourite dual POV, Theo and Imogen’s journey from love to damaged souls, absolutely broke my heart. They both shared their best memories from their first meeting, through to their worst, and that included family interferences and loss. I have to tell you right now, I read this book in one sitting.
I wasn’t sure that I liked Imogen all that much at first. She grew up with an excess of money, and seemed sheltered and selfish. BUT, how she grew up in her family, and was still able to feel the all encompassing love for Theo that she did, was nothing short of amazing. I started to understand her a lot more. She would do anything for him, and she lost the job that she loved so much within her family company.
Theo was an absolutely gorgeous man. He was a sinfully sexy hard-working man who was proud to work in grass roots construction. He now exists for Imogen, and will do anything to make her happy – he even gave up the job he that loved, and stayed in one that he hated, arranged by her family company.
There was so much heartbreak and anguish between them, and they absolutely lost their way. Sorrow and desperation changes the way people look at themselves and at the situations they find themselves in, so Imogen did what she thought was best. Theo wanted to stay true to their love – until she broke him with her father’s demands. I seriously wished that karma would just up and bite that man on the ar$e!
If you love reads that are beautiful romances with a solid side of anguish and heartbreak, then this is one for you. It is not a second chance romance, but a second chance to look at the way love and relationships are viewed when your belief system is really challenged. How do the family values that you grew up with, fit with being the family you want to create today? 4.5 Stars!
This book puts its couple and the reader on one heck of an emotional roller coaster ride. Imogen and Theo’s story is so much more than what you’d expect. It is almost brutally realistic, deep, painful, heartbreaking, angst filled, harrowing and haunting look at beyond the HEA. It rips the blinders off and truly shines a light on the hard work, struggles and the many disastrous pitfalls that must be done, overcome and climbed out or avoided in the fight to keep your love and marriage alive. I felt that this was a different and unusual romance that was none the less beautiful and moving. A edgy, thought provoking read that touches your heart and lingers in the mind. A very good read.
Down We’ll Come, Baby is a beautiful heart wrecking book about a couple trying to put their pieces back together.
Nowadays is so hard to find that person who is your soul mate, that completes you, to get married and have a family, that when you lucky enough to have it you don’t want it to fail.
To have someone special to share the good & bad part of your life as a couple but don’t lose yourself at the same time.
Compromise.
Communication & raw emotions, can break any relationship and Imogen & Theo had so many of than to get through, they love each other fiercely, but they are so broken.
I felt I was in that rollercoaster with them, anxious, hopeless and a variety of mixed feelings.
Thank you, Carrie, to write this unforgettable book.
