Now an Amazon top 40s bestselling title!Dear birthday gods,I’d like my very own Australian experience, if you know what I mean. One with a panty-melting accent and a very wicked grin. The icing on my birthday cake would be if he takes a trip down under tonight . . . My birthday was four-hundred bucks well spent.Get your mind out of the gutter—that was for the hotel. But one week on, and I’m no … was for the hotel.
But one week on, and I’m no longer having fun in the sun.
Because it turns out my new employer is him.
My inked birthday blond.
Oh, he’s still hot,
But now he’s growly and grouchy,
And there’s no escape because I’m living with him.
Nanny to his young twins.
We disagree on so much.
And when he looks at me,
I’m not sure if he means to kill me. Or kiss me.
Or maybe both.
I’m not sure I’d survive on either count.
Australia!
Come for the sun.
Stay for the man. Forever?
Down Under is a steamy fun romance between a growly single dad and his dusty booted nanny. It features a pair of rascally twins, a human (charity) auction, a happy ending, and plenty of lovin’ in between!

I Love Donna’s books! I found myself laughing out loud at times, blushing at times, hear aching at times…I love that Byron in Flynn’s brother – from the Hot Scot’s series! Byron is in Sydney on business and sees and overhears a smoking hot red head tell her friend exactly what she is looking for on her birthday!! They have one incredible smoking hot night and that memory keeps them going for the next month. The last thing either expects is to see each other again, especially when Amber is in Byron’s house with his mother telling him she is the new nanny!! They both have baggage from their pasts and try as they may to stay away from each other, the fail miserably – hotly!! This has a great story line, great characters and I highly recommend it, especially if you loved the Hot Scots!
This is a good story. I liked Amber and Cole and all the supporting characters, especially Cole’s mother and kids.
What a great romance and a great story! Byron is uptight (but not in the bedroom!!). I love the kids and Amber is really sweet and smart. I must admit, I miss the Scots, but these Aussie guys are great in their own right. And I love that all these books are interconnected. Although each can be read as a standalone. I loved this book and cant wait to read more about the Phillips boys!!

This was an entertaining romance with heat and passion. I enjoyed the plot line, and fell in love with the characters.
Amber and Byron have explosive chemistry and it’s the best. The roller coaster these two put me through was well worth the HEA.
I would read more from this author after this book.
This book, like every other that I’ve read by Donna Alam, made me smile – a lot. I was enchanted by this story from the very first page. It’s fun, it’s sexy, it’s well done. It’s everything you could want in a great romance. It has wonderful characters who are genuine and real. The twins are utterly charming and I adored them. The chemistry between Amber and Byron is amazing. They generate a megaton of heat. I kind of hated to see this story end. I really loved it.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
I love all of Donna Alam’s books but this one is my new favorite! I thought the Scots were hot but I think the Aussies have taken the top spot. I think Bryon is even hotter than Flynn! This book is funny and steamy – my favorite combination. I love how Amber comes into Byron’s life just at the right moment. You can’t ignore that kind of chemistry. Love it!!!
While backpacking around Australia Amber plans to spend her 30th birthday getting jumped like a kangaroo and checks into a nice hotel to hopefully fulfill her birthday wish.
Byron hot, single parent and vineyard owner is more than willing to help her out.
I loved this book Amber and Byron are both great characters, the struggle to keep their hands off each other and act professional when they meet back up is real.
Byrons twin children bring an extra dimension to the book which is great, you can always count on kids to tell the truth and make u laugh.
A hot, and steamy read that has u rooting for the characters to give into their obvious attraction can’t wait to read about the other Phillips brothers.
A first read for me by this author and what a little gem to start with. Down Under is such a well written, fun story, and just my cup of tea. This book is without a doubt a great pick me up. I loved each and every character for different reasons and it brightened my day no end.
Amber is taking some time away from her job and life in the US and is currently backpacking around Australia, working odd jobs in order to fund her travels. I love this woman. She’s smart, confident, quirky and hugely endearing. After treating herself to a hot stranger and a night in a fancy hotel for her 30th birthday, she teams up with Rose and a motley crew of fellow backpackers and heads off to wine country in search of a job. Having arrived at a winery, Amber gladly accepts a job as nanny to four year old twins Matty and Edie. These kids are adorable, their characters are brilliantly written and their innocent remarks had me in fits. Not merely side characters, the twins play an important, almost scene stealing, role in the story. Their Nana, Sally, is a hoot and the sort of grandma I would’ve loved growing up. She’s a no nonsense kind of woman with a kind heart, a twinkle in her eye and a spring in her step.
Despite being a drop dead gorgeous Chris Hemsworth look-alike, second impressions of Byron (the first impressions were that he was the best birthday present ever, in case you were wondering), are that he’s irritable and standoffish, and quiet frankly a bit of a grumpy git. As the story progresses, we get to know him and before long, his real personality shines through. He’s a lovely man underneath all the abrasiveness and cynicism. He oozes sexual chemistry and this author does a fantastic job of letting us “hear” his swoony Australian accent. Whilst I wouldn’t say the story is overly angsty, not everything in the garden, or should I say vineyard, is rosy and Amber and Byron have some challenges to overcome before they can find their happy ever after.
A hugely enjoyable story, Down Under is fun, flirty, and naughty, with lots of cheeky humour and sexy shenanigans. It had me laughing my head off and I absolutely loved it.
This story was fun, flirty and full of heart. The characters are well developed and easy to love, especially the children. They melted my heart.
From the moment I started Amber and Byron’s story I was hooked. The connection between them was undeniable, even when they were driving each other crazy. I couldn’t wait to find out how their story would end.
I would absolutely recommend this book.
This was a cute book! It took me a long while to find the chemistry between the two main characters. Not sure if it ever peaked to the chemistry point I prefer, but then again I have high expectations.
** spoiler alert ** After his wife passed, Byron swore he didn’t need another woman permanently in his life. Amber wanted on night of fun before moving onto her next travel plans. Their attraction is undeniable, but both know they shouldn’t. Will Amber find what she is looking for? Will Byron realize what he has before it is to late?
Loved how neither character could resist. I loved how Amber owned who she was and was determined to do what it took to live her life her way. I didn’t blame Byron for being scared after everything he had been through, but was really proud that he went after what he wanted in the end! Great read!
I am guaranteed to LOL when I read a book from this author. Always. Her dialogue is some of the funniest I’ve read. This one had lots of heat to go with the laughs & a surprising amount of feels too. Byron and Amber had chemistry for days and I was hooked from their first encounter. Add in adorable twins & I was a very happy romance reader. Definitely recommend.
Hot and humorous romance set in Australia with a visiting Yank heroine and a sexy widower vintner caring for a set of adorable 4 year old twins with heaps of personality. I loved the romantic story, from the hilarious meet-cute to the tropically steamy end. Some of author Donna Alam’s U.K.-based characters make cameo appearances from across the globe, including this hero’s brother, the hero of In Like Flynn.
Let me start by saying I have a thing for Australia. The sun, the accent, the gorgeous people…yes please! I am already a big fan of Donna’s and was excited for this read. Amber Hardy is a 3rd grade teacher who is taking a break from teaching to travel the world. Her 30th birthday finds her in Australia looking for a hot, hookup. She gets that and more from sexy, tatted, dirty talker Byron. They share a fantastic night together with no expectations of seeing each other again. However they can’t keep their minds of each other and that steamy night in a Sydney hotel room. As fate would have it, their paths do cross again in a most unexpected way. Will their one night fling turn into something more or will it stay a happy memory? I thoroughly enjoyed both Amber and Byron as individual characters and as a couple. They were both smart, confident and real. They each had their own issues to sort through and I appreciated their journey. The secondary characters were also well developed. I enjoyed each one of them and they brought a depth to the story. If you are looking for a read that is sexy, steamy and just a thrill to read then one click, Down Under! It was unputdownable!!
Until now I was all about a Scottish accent, but now, an Aussie too.
Amber has had with her boring life. So she quits her teacher job and goes travelling around the world. I think that seh is very brave, to leace everything behind you and just do what you think is best for you at that moment.
Her path takes her to the Australia and is looking for a job at the bar or a cafe, to earn a little money for the road.
But first she checks herself into the hotel, as a treat for her birthday.
There she meets this fine Australian specimen. Her birthday wish becomes true and they have an amazing, unforgetable night between the sheets.
Then her path takes her to the vineyard for the temporary job.
Of course the owner is nobody else that the hot Aussie from the hotel -Byron.
The rest I wont tell you because you need to pick up this book and read it. It is amazing.
Byron is a strict boss and a father. I love those two kids. They are amazing and lived up the book. When I learned that Byron is Flynn’s brother I was so happy because I loved that book.
This book ends perfectly and Byron’s grand gesture? I was swooning soo hard.
Purrrfect!
I received an earc from the author and am blessed that I can post an honest voluntary review of the book.
5 STARS FOR DOWN UNDER!! What a fun sexy story that held my attention all the way through. I love Bryon….I want my own Bryon!! He is perfection in everyway. Byron and Amber have a fantastic fun sexy story to tell you with twins kids and you need to hear it. This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last.
Can Donna Alam write anything awful..hell NO..it’s not even possible! Everything she writes has a yummy combo of HOT, sexy men, strong, sassy ladies and outrageously steamy scenes that will burn right into your mind, along with the often hilarious situations and colorful language that weaves throughout her delightful stories. Many of these interconnect which gives the added bonus of seeing some of your favorites make an appearance or two as they have in Down Under. Whether it’s her Hot Scots, Bossy Brits or Awesome Aussies, I haven’t met a DA book that wasn’t a hit with me.
In this one, we meet gorgeous widower, Byron Phillips, CEO of the family’s successful vineyard and Flynn’s older brother from another favorite book, In like Flynn. Former educator Amber, looking to find the new her, who’s travelling the world with nothing but her backpack, has landed in Australia and is hoping for a ‘special way’ to spend her big 3-0 birthday away from friends and family in the most fun way possible.
Flynn overhears her side of a friends phone conversation and steps in to make her birthday wish come true! Is it my birthday yet??? I’d take that gift!
You don’t want to miss what happens next! Classic DA humor and heat will keep you reading chapter after chapter until the wee hours and way past your bedtime. As an American, the Australian slang was cracking me up, let’s not forget the scene stealing, adorable twins and a perceptive, straight talking granny that you had to love.
Donna is a one click purchase for me every time. If you love her work too, get this new one asap. If you’ve not had the pleasure yet, dive in, you won’t regret it.
I am voluntarily reviewing an Advance Reader Copy of this book……….
This book was a fun, fast, sexy read from start to finish. Byron and Amber are interesting, well written characters with chemistry that is smoking’ hot. This was a page turner and another great read from Donna Alam.
Down Under by Donna Alam a five-star read you would happily go down under on. You come to expect charming and witty men that would melt your heart and your underwear when you read something by Donna Alam but Byron just melted so much more, I am even shedding a tear as I write as it’s over, we need more Aussie boys in our lives!! This is funny and sweet and hot!! All wrapped in one delicious package. I must give special mention to A Ridgy-Didge Glossary of Terms, there are now a bunch of auld Chooks in the other South Wales spouting some of the funniest phrases to make each other blush, and me spit me tea out!!
I love Donna’s sense of humour and I find reading her books puts me in such a good mood. They say laughter is the key to longevity, I’m not sure if that’s true or not but it’s awfully good for the soul. They may not be the main characters, but I loved Byron’s mum Sally and his brother Flynn.
Amber is a 3rd grade teacher who has decided to take a break. She sets out on a backpacking adventure around the world. Finding herself in Sydney for her 30th birthday she splurges on a very nice room in a high end hotel. Amber plans on having awesome birthday sex, she just has to step out to find a willing participant. Oh she finds him and they spend the whole night pleasuring one another. This is one birthday she’ll never forget he’s left his imprint deep inside her.
Byron has returned to his busy life but he can’t get Amber off of his mind. He keeps having visuals of their time together. Unfortunately as the eldest son he has too many responsibilities and needs to be here at Riposo Wines. Truth is he doesn’t have time for a permanent woman in his life and he’ll never open himself up to being hurt again.
