Life was chaotic and unpredictable; made up of a series of events—a collection of firsts.First crush.First kiss.First love.Between the murky waters, I’d found salvation. And it was all because of him—the broody alpha who appeared at the time I needed him most.He promised me things, and showed me the life I could have. But all it took was one moment to destroy everything.Nothing else mattered. No … everything.
Nothing else mattered.
No one else mattered.
It was him and me against the world.
Until it wasn’t.
I hadn’t known just how forbidden our love was.
I hadn’t known I’d been tutoring his son.
I hadn’t known about the family he had hidden away.
I hadn’t known he was cheating—with me.
I wish I could say I wanted to take it all back, but it’d be a lie.
A blatant lie.
He was my biggest downfall, but I’d never regret it.
Choosing him was never an option, the question was whether he’d risk it all.
Down Fall is book two in the Fallen Duet. The final instalment in the two-part, drama-filled, heart-felt, epic love story.

Here I am again…
Heart meet Lola and Brody.
Aww you think they are a good couple?
You want to see them walk in the sunshine and live happily ever after?
Well too FUCKING bad…
And here I was thinking that maybe, just maybe Davies would take a little pity on my heart. Especially after how she fucking slaughtered me with how Lola and Brody’s story started in the first part of this duet. But, apparently the sweet loving Davies said “FUCK THAT” and decided to go in for the kill. I mean really I should have known that my emotions would’t get off that easy. So now I’m sitting here yet again trying to find a way to really express why any real masochist needs to get their hands on this duet.
Well her I go…
I knew that there was going to be some really big grovelling moments for Brody, with all the shit that came to light at the end of Free Fall. I mean when he fucks up, he did it big time. Now we have Lola showing us just how strong she is. She’s making changes for herself when it comes to her life. And I found myself right there beside her rutting her on. Yet I still also wanted Brody to own up to his fuck up and show that things aren’t what they seemed. I so just wanted Lola to have the HEA that she deserves. Actually I didn’t only want her to get it, I needed her to. My heart rate/blood pressure depended on it happening. But, mostly I needed Brody to the person that gives Lola her HEA. And in true “Davies” form nothing would come that easy for Lola and Brody.
Form the beginning of this journey, that is the Fallen Duet, I have wanted to stab the king of assholes Hut in his black heart. there was no way he could bring me to have even an ounce of hope for him. There was no saving him. Ans he just kept giving me more and more reasons to find ways to kill and dispose of his body. And now another person has joined Hut on my little kill list, Moira. That’s right Brody’s wife and mother of Cade. I started off feeling for her. But, then she showed her true colors to everyone. And let’s just say the true Moira really that there was really nothing there between Brody and her. Hell even Cade knew that his parents were better off not being together.
I just wanted a HEA. Was that really too much to hope for? I don’t think so. But, does this HEA really need to come easy? I would like it too, but I don’t expect it to be done this way. All these were the thoughts that went thru my head while I was reading This heart squeezing book. I just know that it’s a good thing I stopped myself from throwing my e-reader across the room. And the reason is because now I’m going to be ever so patiently be waiting for the next duet to be released that will give me Cade’s story.
WOW! Just wow! Definitely 5 stars! This duet was amazing! When I read the first book I was left heartbroken and reeling and Abigail Davies put my heart back together in this book ! Definitely gave me all the feels and was everything and more than I was anticipating . This book was filled with so much angst and twists and turns it definitely kept me intrigued through out the whole book I could not put it down! Definitely my favorite Duet read so far of 2019 ! Lola and Brody are my new favorite couple and Gahhh I can’t wait to read about Cade ! I received an arc for my honest review
The concluding part of the Fallen Duet by Abigail Davies is absolutely brilliant!
There’re so many fantastic characters (good and bad), and that together with the gripping storyline had me well and truly hooked. I alternated between reading and listening to the audiobook and I must give credit to the narrators who did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. I can’t wait to start the next duet in this amazing series. I highly recommend it!
Omg this book!! I was fortunate enough to get an ARC of this story!! I have been waiting patiently or not so patiently for this to come out. This duet picks up right where Free Fall leaves off, Lola is devistated, and Brody is in deep trouble his emotions are all over he place, all he wants is to be with Lola nut she’s totally ignoring him.., and rightfully so he has a wife and kid a whole different life than he’s been living the past 6 months.
And there’s more trouble in the works…
As Lola tries to move past all the hurt that Brody has caused, all she can think about is how she’s never been Enough for anyone she’s always put last in every situation. She finally gets her place an then..( well I’m gonna leave this part out hahaha)
She is determined to show just how Enough she is to the one person who has destroyed her in more ways than one.
This book was and emotional roller coaster, I was happy at times, sad others and holy crap that finally happened! It’s about time!! I cannot wait to read the next installment and see what Cade is up to 🙂
Downfall picks up right from where Free Fall left off and Oh my the rollercoaster ride doesn’t slow down any. All secrets are exposed as Lola slowly comes to terms with everything that she has learnt about Brody. As we follow their story we find Brody is willing to do everything in his power to protect what is his. There is a lot going on in this book and a lot of questions are answered. I loved this Duet, Lola and Brody and I loved reading their story. I can’t wait for Cade’s story.

Down Fall by Abigail Davies picks up where Free Fall left off. So definitely read that first!
Lola is still trying to get away from that psychotic brother of hers, Hut, who thinks that she belongs to him. She finds out though that Brody is Cade’s father and is a DEA agent. So instead of running to him when things get sketchy with Hut, she has to figure it out on her own. She is able to finally secretly move out in the middle of the night. But, you guessed it. Hut finds her within the week. He tries to force her to come home with him but she is able to fend him off. But for how long?
Brody didn’t want Lola to find out about everything the way she had. The case isn’t closed and she knows his secret and could easily blow his cover. Yet she doesn’t. Once Lola moves out on her own, he tries to talk to her again, but the door is slammed in his face. She doesn’t want to be hurt again. Will Brody be able to tell her the truth and tell her of his love for her?
I truly enjoyed this book. It had a lot of action and humor. I do have to say though there were some slow parts that kind of dragged. But it would pick back up fairly quickly. Abigail Davies did an amazing job of portraying the characters and their personalities. I loved how Sal became the father figure Lola needed and could trust. Jan was perfect in her own way because she took Lola under her wing when Lola was at her lowest and needed a mother figure.
The POV bounces back and forth between Lola and Brody depending on the chapter.
Wow! my first experience with this author and im literally blown away!! This series had all the feels! From intensity , to passion, to full on angst! Incredible story! Definitely going to scope out more of this author! Fantastic book!!
Again five pink-blue stars for Lola and Brody !!!
I’m speechless.
Yeah, that is what this duet did to you after you’ve finished reading both books.
If I say to you, that I was reading this book until three in the morning, it’ll be that enough for you to read them ?
I thought that the first book was perfect, but when I’ve finished reading “Down Fall” there was nothing better than this one.
So, this duet is fantastic and you need to read it.
Now, I’m waiting for Cade’s story !
Highly recommended!!!
Lola is finally finding her way. She know what she wants and is working toward getting out and away. Brody is now exposed and has no idea where to go from here. As the story grows we find out more of the why and how to realize things aren’t as they appear. Lola doesn’t wait though. She holds her head up and goes forward doing what she needs to break free. But Hut isn’t going to let her go easily and it may get deadly, especially if he finds out her secret. Action and intrigue, betrayal and surprises. This author once again does a great job of giving you all the feels and keeping your heart erratic as she rocks your world. I love this author and what she brings to the table it’s always a great and amazing experience whether she has you laughing or crying you will most definitely be touched.
Absolutely fantastic
After the ending to Falling Down, I was so excited to read this book to see what happened next.
Well let me tell you that Abigail Davies does not disappoint in this book. I have just finished it and my head is in a tail spin
To say there are twists and turns in this book would be an understatement, there is so much happening, but it’s not too much that you lose the plot and don’t understand what is happening.
It’s brilliant how Abigail can manage to fit everything in, Lola and Brody, Brody and Moria, the undercover operation against Hut, and everything in between.
This series is absolutely fantastic and had me captivated from the start of book one to the end of this book.
I’d absolutely recommend this book/series as they are well written and will thoroughly captivate you, so don’t plan on doing anything once you start reading these book’s as you won’t be able to put them down
When we met Brody in Free Fall we thought that the biggest secret he had was his undercover assignment but the cliff hanger left us knowing that the next secret to be revealed will devastate Lola to the core. She is left reeling, questioning her judgment when it comes to her life and those she allows in it, but her strength and resilience shines through which only has wanting her to have her happy ever after that much more.
Although it broke his heart to do so Brody had a choice to make and that choice couldn’t be Lola. Two broken hearts with so much to overcome will Brody finally realize what he needs to do before it is too late and that choice is taken from him?
Angst and emotion radiate off the pages in the second part of the duet which combined with the suspense element will have you invested until the last page and hoping that these two people who met under the worst of circumstances can find their way back to each other. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Oh this book was amazing. It had me on the edge of my seat not knowing what was going to happen when it came to Lola and Brody. The ups and downs that they faces, the laughter and tears….. I was so glad to see them get their HEA. It wasn’t an easy road for them but it was great. With amazing secondary characters that helped move the story forward, a plot that got better and better as this journey went, I was hooked from the start and read it in one sitting.
Now, I wanted to give it 5 stars but there was one major-ish thing from the first book that seemed like it was very unresolved. I’m not saying it made a huge impact on the story but it was just there in the back of my head, nagging me. I won’t say what it is because again, it wasn’t huge…. just something that I wondered about after I finished. Either way I really loved this book and look forward to the next duet by this author. Fingers crossed that a lot of these secondary characters get story’s of their own. 4 stars #2OCCJD
This book is brilliant. I loved the angst and drama. It was so instense at times I found myself pacing. So much happens but I want more.
I loved all these characters and I’m not ready to say goodbye to them
I don’t want to give anything away so just read it. It’s my #1 duet for 2019. I will be recommending it as much as possible.
Down Fall by Abigail Davies is book Two in the Fallen Duet. This continues the story of the story of Lola and Brody, so you really need to read the previous book ‘Free Fall’ to fully enjoy this book.
This book starts where we left off in the Free Fall. Lola is struggling to deal with what she learned about Brody and trying to move forward. But that isn’t easy feeling wise or with her past coming back. Brody knows that he has hurt Lola beyond repair but he can’t seem to let her go.
Emotional turn pager story for me.
Starts where Free Fall ended with Lola devastated, not knowing how she didn’t see it, the signs were there. She hates liars and he was one with how he deceived her. She’s going to keep to her plan and she’s going to make herself happy, even if it’s without Brody.
Finally, away from Hut, hearing Brody at her door, she shouldn’t have but she opened it. With the news she just found out she needed him, she saw his eyes, but his words shattered her, and he told her love wasn’t enough for them, all Lola knew was he owed his wife she’s everything, and that she wasn’t enough.
Brody knew what he said to Lola wasn’t what he was feeling, Lola made him feel the best version of him, she was everything, he’s reason to breathe, but even with the case closed can he keep her safe because she is enough.
With Hut looking for her and Brody’s wife not happy about what happened, after everything can Brody prove to Lola that she is everything and will Lola realise she is enough and get her happy ending.
So I will openly admit I have not been a cliffhanger lover. Ugh this two parter might have change that. Book two of the Fallen Duet follows suit of the first book. It is riddled with high octane moments that kept me on the edge of my seat paired with the sweeter/softer side, providing a front row seat to delving into all the relationships.
Lola continues to be my girl. She is so full of strength and has managed to live through some really awful things. What is most impressive, she has kept her humanity and still cares about others. Don’t get me wrong, she is still cautious but she just keeps trucking on. Eek. Did I mention I LOVE HER?!
Brody is our flawed hero that left me wonder after book one if he is redeemable. Yes I think that was the evil intent of this author. In this book Brody steps up and shows the challenges of his life. He really was in a no-win situation. His relationship with his son Cade was the icing on the cake for me.
So yea, hang on to your hat cause this book is still dealing with taking out the bad guy, finding ways to deal with previous missteps, and several new surprises along the way. Oh Brody and Lola still know how to heat up the page. Wink. Definitely I experienced a crazy, emotional ride that (sign) I loved ever minute of. This story beautifully took on on the second half of Brody and Lola’s story. So worthy of five stars. Happy Reading.
Loved the tease of all the other characters. Eek I can’t wait for the future reads. Bring on the Cade Duet!
I had so many questions when I had finished reading Free Fall, so I was happy I didn’t have to wait long for Lola and Brody’s conclusion.
It didn’t play out at all how I thought it would. But my word was it amazing
You want a read that is unpredictable, dramatic and surprising sweet? This is the one for you!
So, did anyone else want to punch Brody right in the face at the beginning of this one? I sure did, and I felt that way for a decent portion of the first half of this book. Ah, but here’s the rub, I also felt a little sorry for him. Not because of his actions because I certainly didn’t agree with those, but there’s just something about him that made my heart go out to him despite what he’d done. Then, there’s Lola. She’s young and has been through so much that for her to trust in the first place is something major. There are so many facets to these characters that you can’t help but get wrapped up in their story. This crazy ride picks up where Free Fall left off and is jam packed with a forbidden romance, forbidden in more ways than one, danger at every turn, and characters who practically leap off the page. Abigail Davies has given us all the feels and then some with this duet, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for these characters.
We pick up right where Lola and Brody left off in the first half of this duet. Lola is shattered, Brody is in deep trouble (moral and emotional), more trouble is closing in on all sides, and it seems like there isn’t ANY way out of the mess Brody made. He has to fix his personal life, fix the woman he loves, take down the bad guy, and prove that he’s a good bet for others to take. Can he do it?
Lola is just trying to move on. She’s never been enough for anyone, so why should her present be any different from her past? Of course, she’s never gone up against someone so determined to prove just how ENOUGH she really is to a life worth living. But she has to trust the man who destroyed her to show her how much her life can continue to change for the better. Can she trust this man ever again?
This was a roller coaster of emotions, drama, and suspense without being over the top. Brody and Lola have to make their way back to each other before it’s too late, Cade has to accept his new reality, a case needs to be closed for good, and Brody only has to keep his reason for breathing alive long enough to do it all. No big deal, right?
I finished the entire book in one sitting, so now I have to wait for the stories of Cade and the rest of Brody’s friends. I’ll try to wait patiently. Try being the key word.
After the shock twist at the end of Free Fall, I didn’t think my little heart could take any more, but apparently I’m a sucker for punishment. I dove in to Down Fall, hoping for a happy ending for Lola and Brody but did they get it??
Picking up exactly where Free Fall ended, with Lola’s life upside down after finding out Brody isn’t who she thought he was. Now she has to work out if anything that happened between her and Brody was true or was he just using her. One thing she knows for sure, she has to carry on with her plan to get out.
Will Lola get the life she deserves? After putting her trust in Brody, will she ever trust again? Will Brody and his team close out that case?
A bigger rollercoaster of emotions than Free Fall was but I loved it all, even the parts that had me tearing up. The Fallen Duet has been an amazing read, definitely one that I won’t forget. I’m looking forward to more from the Easton’s, with Cade’s duet later this year.
