Welcome to Shadow Valley where the Dirty Angels MC rule. Get ready to get Down & Dirty because this is Zak’s story… one of the club’s strippers, those priorities get a bit skewed.
Sophie has no idea what happened to her life. One minute she’s totally focused on building her bakery business, and the next? She’s delivering a cake to the Dirty Angels motorcycle club’s “homecoming” celebration for a member who just got out of prison. Little does she know baking that cake will change the rest of her life, not to mention, make her a target for a rival MC. Normally, Sophie wouldn’t be caught dead with a man like Zak, a tattooed, ex-con, badassed biker.
When a decades old territory war threatens to rip them apart, Zak will do anything to keep Sophie, his club, and the town safe. But being from two different worlds, the threat they’re under may not be worth the risk.
Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, biker slang, cursing, some violence and, of course, an HEA. If you like alpha males who like to take charge, this book is for you.

I can’t quite explain why this book and series draws me in, but I find myself on the third installment in the series. Zak was the first and he was a great start. A fun story of a dominant man with a headstrong woman that combine with combustible chemistry.
I read the entire series and really like doing he characters in E chrome a long with their lady friends!
I loved the book, reading the series. Hot, intense, and sexy bikers. Love them
Down & Dirty: Zak
Dirty Angels MC, Book 1
By: Jeanne St. James
Narrated by: Sean Crisden, Ava Lucas
The brotherhood of a motorcycle club along with the alpha males always is a draw for me. Jeanne St. James writes this story with a group of men with a strong bond, a very protective alpha male and a strong-willed yet vulnerable heroine giving this MC book all the qualities it needs to keep me listening! Zak is fresh out of jail after serving 10 years for a crime he didn’t commit. Sophie is delivering the cake to the clubhouse for his celebration. And from there we begin a steamy, stormy, push-pull of a relationship. St. James weaves together the feeling of instant love with this couple, and how the stigma and danger of a motorcycle club can effect the couple. Authors always give vulnerability to characters, but I was entranced with the way that Zak, this super over protective, sexy, strong, alpha male is brought to his knees by his love for Sophie. You can feel his emotions running, and it is refreshing! I also love the family feel of the members, they always had each other’s back and sets up our future stories of this series. I am looking forward to getting to know the others better!(and I hope that Zak’s brother though not a member has his story too!)
This dually narrated book will make your heart smile. Ava Luca is amazing as Sophie. She gives Sophie an innocence in the beginning that is totally believable, and as she becomes Zak’s woman, the change in her is evident just with the voice. She is confident and strong, and Lucas easily translates this with her inflections. Sean Crisden as Zak is the perfect fit. His smooth as silk voice gives Zak an alpha feel, a definite leader from the minute he comes in. Together Lucas and Crisden flow with passion and the chemistry with Zak and Sophie is unbeatable. Loved this dual narration!

Great series. I never thought I would like to read about bikers, now I can’t get enough. A great read.
You cannot get more grunty and alpha than a hero who doesn’t even speak in complete sentences—and I loved it! Loved Zak and his dirty, hot ways. Loved the two people from two different world theme. Definitely made me want to take a look at book number two in the series.
What an awesome start to an awesome new series! I love this author. She’s provides so many elements; wonderful characters, emotion, suspense, etc. She really makes you believe you are part of the MC.
I absolutely love Jeanne St James and her writing style. This is a different version of the books that she has written and I absolutely loved it. This is an MC book with a romance twist. I absolutely loved the character chemistry. It is hot right from the beginning which makes the book even better for me. I absolutely love when characters hit it off right from the beginning. There is some confusing moments in the beginning between these two but that is what makes this story so good and so believable. I absolutely love the character of Sophia. She is strong and stubborn but at the same time will fight for what she wants even if she knows that it is wrong. I love the banter she has in her head regarding this badass motorcycle who she shouldnt be with but cant stay away from. But honestly I wouldnt be able to stay away from him either. Who doesnt love a hot motorcycle bad boy with tattoos?.. Absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. Loved that Jeanne wrote something like this. It does show how well she can write about a certain topic. I cant wait to read more in her MC work.
Zak and Sophie’s journey of love is full of misunderstandings, drama, danger, humor, romance and steamy sex! Zak and Sophie’s relationship starts out crazy because he mistook her for a stripper but in the end they turn out to be perfect for each other. I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook because the narrator brought the characters to life. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Not your typical MC book….
Let me preface this by saying, I am super picky about my MC reads, so much so that I hardly try any that just randomly show up in my newsfeed. I am thanking the book gods that I took a chance on this author and these books. Zac has a troubled past and just freshly released from jail for a crime he didn’t commit (I know this is a normal case with these books, but this really was different in this book.) Sophie was either in the right place at the wrong time or the wrong place at the right time, but she decides to have some fun as the situation unfolds. These people are polar opposites, but it works. As with MC books, the men are alpha males, but really at the core, they are loyal, protective, and loving to those who capture their heart and to those who they consider family. This was an exceptional start to this series that I can’t wait to read more of!
Audio Review
From start to finish the author and narrator drew me in and kept my attention. I really love Ms. St James’s style of writing, she packs such a punch into her characters that they almost seem to be real.
Zak and Sophie are meant to be. I loved how Sophie was feisty and wasn’t afraid to stand up for her beliefs. Will Sophie be strong enough to become an old lady or will circumstances tear them apart? Sophie is one of those characters that is so easy to relate too, I absolutely adore her.
This story flowed well and was full of drama, humour and some mighty fine chemistry between Zak and Sophie that absolutely burned up my ears.
I want to scream my praises of this new release of Down and Dirty Zak.
The narrators Ava Lucas and Sean Crisden, perfection.
I knew these characters, were drawn to them the first time I listened to this story and was made a fan of the DAMC, but listening again I got a new love for the Bad Boy Biker Zak. He is actually a puppy dog at heart. Here is a quote “I love you more than my freedom, and after losing it, that’s saying something. Your my breathe Sophie, my life’s blood, your my soul”. Swoon!!!
Sophie, a strong, confident, no nonsense woman, becomes putty in Zak’s hands after a kicking and screaming match when he mistakenly takes her for just one of the available girls, but even though she is falling, how could you not, she still holds her ground on certain issues. Way to go Sophie.
What’s left to say, but get this Audible book, I loved it.
I am so glad I found this series. I loved this book!! It was super hot and intriguing read. there were a lot of twists and turns. I also loved all the supporting characters. The woman of this series are great and the men are super hot I cannot wait for the next book. This book definitely laid the groundwork for what is going to be a great series.
zak who went to prison for 10 years for a crime he didnt commit was set up by a rival mc . he finally got out of prison and went home to a welcome home party and made the mistake of thinking that the gorgeous sofie who was the lady who made his welcome home cake was actually a swéet butt. even though she tried to tell him he has made a mistake he still through her over his shoulder and took her to his room . sofie who figured why the hell not she hadnt been with anyone one in a while spent the night with zak. and thinking she woudnt see him again went on her merry way.. however life isnt that simple and soon sofie found her self mixed up with zak and his club . not only does Axel the hot cop come into her bakery to buy her cup cakes and hope to one day get a date with the beautiful sofia Axel also happens to be zaks brother not alot of love lost there as axel and their father who also happens to be a cop didnt believe zak that he had been set up . but sofies bakery gets attacked by a rival mc . she didnt sign up for any of this and certainly not to fall head over cupcakes in love with zak but she did. zak makes it clear to his brother who sofie belongs to and he and his club take revenge for the break in at the bakery. there is lots of interwoven scenes going on in this story wich was great and would lead to other books in this series . if you like your men in leather hot, alpha, and dominant this series is for you however the hot cop Axel is just as alpha and sexy in blue .. just saying
What an introduction into this new MC series by Jeanne St. James! Once I started, I just could not put this book down. Zak is the former president of the MC who was sent to prison for ten years and has just been released. Sophie is a newcomer to Shadow Valley, Pennsylvania and has opened a bakery. She is called upon to design the welcome home cake for Zak’s party. Who knew that one decision would have such an impact on her life? Upon first sight, Zak is drawn to Sophie and mistakes her for one of the new women belonging to the club to be used by the members. Sophie tries to explain who she is to no avail and winds up behind a locked door deciding what her next step will be. From there the action just keeps rolling like a motorcycle cruising down the open road. The reader can feel the chemistry between Zak and Sophie oozing out of every pour and it just keeps building throughout the storyline but that is not all….Ms. St. James captures the essence of the brotherhood and artistically describes the sentiment of family and how, sometimes, it does not mean one’s blood relatives. Throw in some other elements involving conflict with a rival MC and you have one exhilarating storyline. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next one. I just hope that it will be Isabella and Axel’s story.
I volunteered to read an arc for a review.
