It was just supposed to be one night. No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.Only it’s a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again. I just didn’t expect it to be at my job interview…which he’s conducting. Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I’m doing my best to avoid falling for … doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.
Except it’s much harder than either of us anticipated.
What’s a few romps between friends?
No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.
Sounds simple, right?

This is book 3 in the Slice Series, and it can be read as a stand-alone, but as always, I prefer reading in order, just to get to know this great group of family and friends involved!
Porter recently moved back home after his divorce , and is looking for a new nanny for his daughter. Meeting Dory at the interview, they realized they met before and the night ended between the sheets.
But Dory needs this job. Will this work out between these two?
Porter is a fabulous dad! The girl is kinda real sassy in between, and their banter is refreshing and funny and laugh out loud! Bring in Dory, and she brightens up their life even more!!
This is one sexy, cute, lovely, funny and swoony store!
4 with on top from me
3.5 Stars.
This is the third edition of the Slice series and this book is all about Porter and Doris (Dory). Just keep swimming, just keep swimming – I don’t know about you, but whenever I say that name, I have to add the song as it is the best kids movie! Ok back to the book.
Porter is Foster’s best friend when he was living in California. He had been encouraging Porter to come and live in NC and it is just the right time to see if it is a fit for him and his seven year old daughter. It takes time running a business from another state, whether you are a multimillionaire or a billionaire, (potato / potahto) you will need a nanny to help out and this is where Dory comes in, she had experience and came highly recommended from Drew as Dory babysat little Riker in book two.
It really hurts me to say, but this is not my favourite in the series. Some aspects I was totally on board with, but others just didn’t gel with me. I can’t go into much detail as I don’t want to add spoilers at all, but some things didn’t quite add up. His job situation was one and the high-flown angst was another. I also couldn’t relate to the non kiss condition. I think Dory took it too far, and this could just be her age and innocence.
I was happy with the final outcome and if anyone deserves a HEA it was these two. They both had experienced heartache in one form or another and they were two opposites that needed to be together. The epilogue was sweet. What’s next, I am not sure but I am anxious about Sully’s story and when that might happen. Fingers crossed he is next.
Single Dad | Small Town Romance
Teagan Hunter writes some pretty special romances. I always find myself getting excited when she’s writing a new book ESPECIALLY when it’s written in one of my favorite worlds. In this case, readers will be brought back to Slice (I can’t remember the name of the hometown I’M SORRY). You’ll see a few familiar faces from previous books and will meet some new characters that may have already caught your attention. In this one, readers will meet Porter and Dory.
Porter is a single dad who just moved to the area and is looking for a nanny. He’s been divorced (which was really hard for everyone involved) and isn’t looking for love, but somehow his new nanny who he may have slept with prior to interviewing her, starts catching his heart. How can a man who has no intention of falling in love start healing his heart to make room for someone else?
Dory has been through a lot in her young life. She’s just trying to get by and go to college to become a social worker, but money is tight, and her dreams seem to be moving further away from her. But when she gets a call for an interview for a nanny position, things start to look up. Too bad the man she has an interview with is THE man she hooked up with the night before.
Experience the feelings of love and humor with Dory and Porter as they navigate their forbidden relationship! Readers will swoon for these two and cheer them on from beginning to end. I love Porter as a single dad, his daughter is the cutest PRINCESS, and seems to love tea just as much as I do! Dory is a realistic character, one many of us may see pieces of ourselves in, so connecting with her is a breeze!
Don’t miss this one, friends! Teagan has a wonderful series here and I am always looking forward to more.
5 Star review Doughn’t Let Me Go (Slice #3) by Teagan Hunter
The third book in the series and was an entertaining read. I love single parent stories, add in the setting, a small town and to me this is a win/ win scenario.
This is Porter Jones and Doris (Dory) Palmer’s story and I was captivated from the first to the last chapter.
Porter ticked all the boxes for me, he is totally swoon worthy and the relationship he has with his daughter Kyrie, melted my heart.
Dory was sassy, feisty and such an awesome character and I loved her. Together the three of them made a wonderful family. Emotional at times, there was also humour and a whole lot of fun.
There was nothing that I didn’t like about this story. A book that has it all, it’s funny, sweet, romantic, spicy and a tale of love. Ms. Hunter wove a story that ensured I didn’t want to put it down.
Doughn’t Let Me Go is a single dad romance that you don’t want to miss out on reading! Teagan Hunter makes this dad irresistible in her third installment of the Slice series. Now, don’t worry! You don’t have to read these in order to follow along with Porter, single dad to Kyrie, and BFF to Foster. His story line is mostly unique and not intricately threaded into the prior two books in this series.
Hunter really wows with Porter. This dad is a sweet, giving, understanding man who happens to have a hilarious funny little seven year old girl. Having a little girl the same age as Kyrie really helped me to relate to this story. Hunter really nailed an authentic lively 7 yro and how the world reacts, much less her father and her nanny.
Dory is the absolute best character. Her heart, giving nature and sweet sincerity are just a few things I loved about her. Her relationship with both Kyrie and Porter was ideally what sold me on this book. While Hunter still brought on the sexy and funny times with this one, she also wrote all the feels that really captured the true single dad romance that has people one clicking time and time again.
This is another successful novel for Hunter. Having been a fan since day one, I can only tell you she gets better with each new novel she writes. Her novels contain spirited, unique characters that continue to wow and woo me. You absolutely can’t go another day without reading one of her books. Why not start with this single daddy?
This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Dory and Porters’ turn. Porter is a single dad workaholic who has moved to a small town in order to spend more time with his daughter. On a night out he meets Dory and have a one-night stand, only to have her show up to interview for the position of nanny to his daughter. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. This is a beautifully written story which is sweet, humorous, and with witty banter, which all had me enthralled throughout this addictive page turner. In my opinion this is this talented authors’ best work to date! I highly recommend for all readers.
4.5 Cranky Stars
The Slice series has become a fast favorite of mine. A close knit group of friends who navigate life and love together mixed with some humor and so many puns. Teagan Hunter is my pun spirit animal I mean look at this title! It’s not about donuts so get that out your head think pizza dough. Are you with me? Awesome! Now let’s get to the meat of this story huh huh?
Dory not the fish is a woman who’s had some bad luck. Working multiple jobs and trying to attend college to make something of herself but isn’t having a good go at it. She used to babysit for Drew once upon a time and decided to apply for a job that seemed too good to be true. On a rare night off, she drowns her sorrows in cheap pizza at Slice and meets a handsome man. Porter is the opposite of her in many ways, yet she’s drawn to him. Porter has relocated to North Carolina from California for a change of pace and a break from his very successful job. He just wants to be settled and give his daughter a good life. His best friend Foster always raves about the pizza at Slice. He finds himself all alone one night and decides to decompress with some pizza. He meets Dory and they get to talking just basking in their chemistry. One night should be enough right? Dory has issues when it comes to relationships and Porter has abandonment issues surely, they are a perfect match. Life works in mysterious ways though.
Kyrie is a hoot. I mean she is 6 going on 16 with the way she puts Porter in his place. Their banter made me laugh often. Dory I admired her willingness to be her own woman but come on it’s ok to lean on someone. Porter just has a huge heart. He’s not your typical playboy millionaire and I liked that about them. So go grab a slice of Doughn’t Let Me Go and satisfy your cravings for love and sexy times and humor.
This is book 3 in the “Slice” series. Once again Teagan keeps you on your toes. This story is Porter and Dory’s story. It’s a heartfelt funny book. I devoured it in one sitting. Porter and Dory’s story was sweet, and sad at moments, but also has you cracking up throughout. I loved this couple just as much as the others in this series. I can’t wait to see what Teagan brings us next.
4.5 Stars for Doughn’t Let Me Go
Single dad stories get me every time and this book is up there amongst the best in that genre, let’s be honest what’s not to love about a story centred around a great caring dad, a wonderful nanny and an adorable seven year old who has some classic one liners….
Porter is a successful businessman, he is the owner of a multi-million dollar tech company but first and foremost he is a dad !!! After a stressful year he decides it’s time to take a break and spend some time in a small town on the east coast where his best friend lives so he packs his bags and moves across the State with his daughter. First night out in the town he meets a woman, it was only meant to be one night but what happens when she ends up as his live in nanny …..
Dory try’s to convince Porter they can’t be more than employer.employee but Porter’s gut tells him it could be more and when his feelings start to get stronger he needs to find out if Dory feels the same .
A sweet fun entertaining romance that drew me in and captivated me, I loved the story, I loved the characters and I loved the witty banter this group shared and oh let’s not forget the classic one liners only a seven old will get away with. This is small town/single dad romance at its best and I highly recommended it to all romance lovers and rom-com lovers. Great entertaining read.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
This was a fun little slice (yes, I went there) of a story that put a smile on my face. This was a witty, entertaining, and light-hearted story that really hit the spot.
I really liked the characters in this story but I thought that they could have a little more depth. I liked where the author took their backstories and how their pasts affected them in the present, but I felt that there could have been a little more there. We kind of get the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, where their personal histories are concerned. That aside, both main characters were easy to relate to and so likable. I just didn’t feel as connected to the characters as I would have liked because I was wanting a little bit more. I very much enjoyed all of the side characters, including Porter’s little girl, Kyrie. Reading this book has made me eager to read the other books in this series to get closer to the secondary characters.
The romance in the story was almost like a slow-burn but not at the same time. Porter and Dory have definite chemistry when they meet at the pizza diner. They may have decided to have a one-night-stand that night but their conversation sparked their interest in each other. Their attraction to each other definitely continues from there. They carry on a physical relationship and try to keep their feelings out of it but they eventually find out that they are in too deep.
I liked the overall plot of the story. I thought that the idea behind their meeting was humorous and played out rather well. I felt that there could have been a bit more conflict in the story though. The main conflict is more of an internal one so the story is more of a bumpy ride down a country road than a rollercoaster ride. I did enjoy the author’s writing style. The narration was very smooth and was easy to read.
Overall, this was a fun read that is perfect for a lazy day. It is packed with humor, heartfelt moments, and a push and pull romance that you can’t help but root for. I am excited to see what is next from this author.
I’ve always enjoyed and loved Teagan’s stories. Doughn’t Let Me Go was another one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Porter is new in town, being a billionaire, you would think he doesn’t have much to worry about. But he has his seven-year-old daughter and that yearning to have someone by his side. He meets Doris and hire’s her on to take care of his daughter. But they have a connection that they can’t seem to get away from.
Doris aka Dory is hard-headed and doesn’t want anyone doing anything for her. She wants to make it on her own. She tries to put up a fight, Tries to deny those feelings, but Porter wasn’t having any of it.
Doughn’t Let me go is full of love and hope.
Overall, Four Boundless Stars
I cant even with how entertaining, lighthearted and fun this book is!
I just loved the characters so much that I would want them all as my friends! Add in Pizza and life is made!!! Am I right or am I right??
The banter, the wonderful friendships and the storyline just captured my attention and I didn’t want to stop reading!
Porter is this dreamy fictional man that I couldn’t help fall in love with and when you learn how caring he is, queue the swooning and sighing!! Dory was such a fantastic character too! She was rather endearing and just the way she was, really brought to mind how strong she seemed!
This book was absolutely amazing and made my week! Ms Hunter has created a story that will definitely stay in my heart for a long time! I really can’t wait to see what she writes next!! Outstanding! Loved it to pizza bits!!
I love Teagan’s stories she has a way with words that are truly inspiring. If your having a rough day I recommend The Texting Series and of course The Slice Series, they will have you laughing, snorting out liquid if you happen to make the mistake of have a drink while reading. I’ve been on the unlucky side of water coming out of my nose a few times.
Porter is a single dad that owns a tech company, he moves to a small town that his best friend recommended with his 7 year old daughter Kyrie.
Porter has a free night to himself and he takes full advantage of it, where he meets Dory. Dory just wanted one night to relax before a job interview the next day. She never thought the guy she was with the night before would be the job she was interviewing for. Dory becomes the live in nanny for Kyrie and the both agree that it was a one time thing, but does it stay a one time thing?
Wow, just Wow!! I dare you not to fall in love with this one from Teagan Hunter. I think third time is the charm, although I loved the first two books as well, Kyrie just takes the pie and your heart in this one. Porter has chosen to move to the east coast to slow things down for him and his daughter. A rare night off and a delicious slice of pizza is about to change more than his geographic location. Dory has had it rough but she seems to be able to hold it together no matter what life throws her way. She is about to interview for the job that will give her the financial freedom she seeks so that she can complete her schooling. Guess what life is about to throw her way this time?! Single dad and nanny take on a whole new meaning in this slice of life from Teagan Hunter that you will not want to Let Go.

I’m not sure why but this book was a pleasant surprise and I’m not sure why. Because I loved the first two books in the series so I knew I’d probably love this one too and love I did.
Porter and Dory were such a cute couple. They both had issues that they needed to over come and the path was full of bumps that at times seemed like Porter would never be able to bypass them. But their love was too strong to deny and soon I was smiling so big I thought my heart would explode. If anyone deserved a HEA was Dory so I was so happy when she finally let her walls down so that Porter and his cute girl could enter in her life.
I’m an absolute fan of series and I’m hopping there’s more to come.

I LOVE Teagan’s writing and this book was no exception. I DEVOURED this story. Hands down on of my top books by Teagan.
Porter is a single father, he also owns his own business and works hard to provide for his daughter, Kyrie. Of course, due to his schedule and travel he needs a nanny. He is in for a shock when the woman he had a one night stand with is his next interview and also is perfect for the job. Dory is independent, hard working and is the most kind hearted person you’ll ever meet.
Porter and Dory have an instant connection, they are drawn to each other and can’t seem to stay away from each other. Throw in the amazing instant connection that Dory and Kyrie formed and Porter was completely falling for her. Everything was just so easy and natural for them and their relationship slowly blossomed.
I’m crossing my fingers and toes that Sully gets a book and we don’t have to say goodbye to this crew yet!
Doughn’t Let Me Go is a must read if you love single dad romances and love to laugh out loud with a little bit of steam. Definitely a MUST READ!
So this just happened! My first book by Teagan Hunter and I absolutely loved it! What can I say other than this book was a forbidden romance lovers dream. Porter is a sexy, multimillionaire, single dad to a sassy, smart mouthed, opinionated little girl who he loves with his whole heart. Doris/Dory is a beautifully damaged young woman trying desperately to make something of herself. Working multiple jobs in the hopes of getting ahead, she desperately needs the nanny job that she applied for. Before these two meet in a “professional capacity “ they hookup. Cue the insanity when the next day’s walk of shame turns into the “interview“ of shame! Insanely attracted to one another and stupidly convinced they can handle a strictly employer/employee relationship, Dory moves in as the live in nanny to Kyrie. Unable to resist their attraction or forget their night together the two tip toe around their obvious feelings until they can’t anymore. Their HEA is sweet and well deserved. TBR this great book and enjoy!
Dory and Porter is a single dad story, where you will experience all the emotions, full of angst and chemistry, where opposites attract. You will get all the witty humor from Teagan Hunter, plus a bunch of pizza to help out. A definitely book I would recommend for anyone that loves a great and well written story.
My heart is so happy!!! Doughn’t Let Me Go is SUCH an incredibly enjoyable read! This third book in the Slice series by author Teagan Hunter gave me such wonderful feels! This single-dad/one night stand romance features the story of Porter Jones (Foster’s best friend) and (unknowingly) his future nanny, Doris Palmer (Dory…Missy Fishy).
The characters in this book (as well as the whole series!) are such a fun, “no-boundaries” group of friends that many could be envious of. They have each other’s backs (and fronts). I love their history and backstories and the banter is so perfectly written in! I literally laughed out loud several times.
Porter is a divorced multi-millionaire who overworks himself, and needs to figure out how to balance his business, his personal life, and his adorable 7 year old daughter, Kyrie… AKA Your Majesty, Queen of the Tea Party Room… hence the need for the nanny. Dory is a struggling student, with a not so envious past, trying to better her life.
Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone…HOWEVER…just read the first two books first because it gives you the dynamic of the group and some history and it really blends the whole series together. I really, really love the writing style and flow of author Teagan Hunter! She writes stories that I don’t want to walk away from and feel so good after reading. There is a wonderful storyline, fantastic characters, heat, romance, small amount of conflict, and a HEA! I totally recommend this book and series! 5 stars!
