It was just supposed to be one night. No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.Only it’s a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again. I just didn’t expect it to be at my job interview…which he’s conducting. Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I’m doing my best to avoid falling for … doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.
Except it’s much harder than either of us anticipated.
What’s a few romps between friends?
No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.
Sounds simple, right?
Right…

Single dad are some of my favorite books, and when a single dad is such a good man, it makes me even happier. Porter was such a fantastic dad to Kyrie and I loved their interactions. Sometimes love breaks barriers and is super messy. That is what happens when Porter meets Doris. He just knows there is something there. When she shows up for an interview the next day to be Kyrie’s nanny, hilarity and love ensues. They fall for each other even though they shouldn’t. Love doesn’t always follow the rules.
Single dad romances are always a must-read for me and I must say that Teagan Hunter nailed this book! Doughn’t Let Me Go is the story of Porter and Dory who are trying to fight their attraction to each other…and doing a bad job at it! This story is full of laughter, love and emotional moments that will have you reading this story in one sitting. You will fall head over heels for Porter and Dory and root for their HEA!
Teagan every time I feel like there is no way your books can get better you prove me wrong. This book gives you more than you ever think you need. I love the group of friends in this book. I love that you bring them back. I love that you made me smile and cry. I loved learning about them.
You need to give me another book. Lol. (Butt stuff jokes) lol.
Just Keep Swimming!
Gah I adored this SO freaking much! Porter is amazing and Dory was such a great character!
Porter is a hot single dad to Kyrie (who, let’s be honest, stole the show and my heart) and is new-ish to town.
Dory is finding her way in life…she’s not had it easy.
When these two come together, the sparks FLY! This is my favorite in the Slice series of stand-alones. I really connected with these two very quickly and I loved the chemistry between them.
One scene in particular is one of my favorite scenes I’ve ever read (it’s Slice “chapter” 12)…it. is.fantastic. and I literally couldn’t stop laughing!

Single dad books with quirky sassy kids are my jam, so it was no surprise to me that this was by far my favorite Slice book. I absolutely loved Porter! He was sexy, funny and had a vulnerable side that catches your heart. I loved his interactions with Kyrie, always keeping it real with her no matter how uncomfortable it made him. He and Dory together were perfect. The push and pull, the chemistry, the sarcasm between the two definitely makes them one of my favorite Slice couples! This book is a one-click must!
In Doughn’t Let Me Go, we have single dad Porter and scrappy independent Dory. A one-night stand morning after turns even more awkward when she shows up for the interview in the Nanny position he is hiring for. Dory has had a tough upbringing and has struggled financially since leaving home, but she has goals and works hard to achieve them. Good guy Porter just wants what is best for his daughter, even if it means moving across the country to a new town and hiring Dory for the job. The connection, the banter, the swoony-worthy kiss, all make it a book that was hard to put down.
I love everything Teagan Hunter writes. Her books have her distinct voice in them. They are solidly in the 20-something age category, but there is a lot of her wit contained in each book that she is one of the few authors who make me laugh out loud when I am reading. She has great timing with her humor, and she adds in just the right amount of steam. This book get 4/5 slices!
Porter & Dory stole my heart, but Kyrie stole the show! Kyrie is a fireball and so sassy – I just loved her!
Two damaged souls find each other. It is not the perfect time, but when is it ever?
Dory has not had an easy life and I totally get the trust issues. Porter, gawd love that man, he is everything I want in a man. Their love story was perfection.
Teagan Hunter’s writings are something special and she brings the laugh, witty banter, and most of all love to each book. I can’t get enough of her books. If you are looking for dynamic characters, lots of laughs, and a storyline who grabs your heart and doesn’t let go – she is the author to read!
This book is the first that I’ve read by this author and OMG!! Its awesome, a must read, I really enjoyed reading this book. It deserves all five of its stars, fantastic.
Porter is a hot, sexy single dad to his daughter Kyrie who he has an amazing relationship with. He is a very rich millionaire who has his own security company and he is a really genuine, sweet loving guy who is really loyal to his family, friends and even his work employees. Porter’s best friend Foster is there and has his back too.
Doris ‘ Dory ‘ is a young woman who has had things pretty tough. She is trying to make ends meet and desperately needs a job.
When they both meet each other one night at a pizza place they don’t ever think they are going to see each other again. When Dory interviews for the position on a nanny she didn’t realise who she was interviewing for. ( NO SPOILERS ).
I really loved these characters and I think that this author has written them brilliantly. I absolutely loved Kyrie Porters daughter too she is so so adorable, a real cutie pie and a quite a funny young girl I love her. They have really good chemistry between them both and I really loved seeing how there story develops and how Porter makes her feel safe. These two characters come from different worlds.
Can these opposites have the love story they want?
This book is told from different points of view and I always like that, and I really like this authors writing style. This is a great story and this author has told it great. I’ll defiantly reading her previous books too.
I cant wait to read more from this author in the future and I will be highly recommending this book when it gets released.
Thank You to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

This book is Now Live.
Holy Cheese Sticks On Pizza Friends!! I plowed through this sizzling sweet story! I loved it! The one-nighter turns to forever love. It’s one of my favorites. Now was it that simple, absolutely not! But that’s what made it so much fun to read about.
Porter and Doris”Dory” first meet when they both have a rare night off. Him from his seven-year-old daughter and Dory from working her multiple jobs. They immediately hit it off and decided to have a one night stand. Neither are looking for any kind of a relationship AT ALL and it’s not like they’re gonna see each other again, right? Of course they have a run-in, the best ever!! Talk about awkward.
What I loved about both Porter and Dory is although both of their paths were a bit different, they both carried emotional scars from growing up. This did help to mold them into the people that they became as adults and they were both wonderful, loving and caring people. It’s just unfortunate that Porter was always looking over his shoulder, or next to him to see if those he cared about had run off and left him yet. It was also sad because anytime anything nice happened for Dory, she was always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
This story is engaging and hot, it’s fast paced and funny. It’s serious and even had some moments that definitely pulled some tears out of me. I got to get some updates and funny times with all my favorites. Foster, Wren, Winston, Drew, and Sully. Sassy little Kyrie, Porter’s daughter stole quite a few of the scenes. Get ready to fall for Porter and Doris.
– GAHHH! I can’t get enough of Teagan Hunter’s writing! That’s all!! It’s just amazing!
-Porter and Dory are smokin! Positively on fire!
Cliffhanger Warning- HEA!! Yay!! I love it!
Led Zeppelin, Queen Kyrie, and a thousand lost Kisses.
To sum this story up in three words: emotional, witty, heartfelt.
What I love about this story is that it’s real, even with all the corny one liners and perfectly timed jokes. The characters have gone through real life experiences that have changed them and maybe not for the better. Porter’s love for control turns his world into a regimen. Dory’s lack of feelings and strive make her lack the love of friends and family. And when these two meet? Sparks fly. Fireworks Explode. and of course many pizza’s are consumed. Don’t forget Queen Kyrie, she’s the perfect side character that brings flavor to this story. Her interactions with her aunts and uncles, and even Porter himself had me in stitches.
To be honest, I’ve been in such a book funk these past couple months. Personal reasons of course. But this story and these beautifully written characters have swindled me into reading again, and I couldn’t be happier. These two are unforgettable and so loving. Five million slices for these guys.
I was so excited for Porter’s book and it was even better than I hoped! There is so much sass and adorableness in this book! Kyrie is the best ever! I couldn’t get enough of her. I loved all the hilarious dialogue and the sweetness between Porter and Dory. And as always this book left me seriously craving some pizza.
I love everything that Teagan Hunter writes, and this was no exception! Filled with the witty humor and hilarious one liners that we’ve all come to expect from this author, there’s also such real emotion that completely captivated me!
We have Porter, who is a single dad to a tenacious, sarcastic, funny and sweet seven year old girl, Kyrie. He owns his company and has more money than he knows what to do with, but he yearns to give his daughter the one thing he never has while growing up: stability. He moved from California and is surrounded by friends who are more like family, and even though he has no intentions of getting romantically involved anytime soon, when he meets Dory at Slice, he just knows he’s in for a whirlwind.
Dory is a very broke twenty year old who is doing whatever it takes to have a better life than the one she saw her mom have. She is determined to become a social worker so she can have a positive impact on young kids and help them anyway she can. When she meets Porter, she’s immediately attracted him and after very heavy flirting, they spend the night together. They do the awkward morning after, and Dory is determined not to think about him– until she realises that the nanny position she is being interviewed for is by the man she can’t forget. They agree to be professional and not cross any lines, but you have two people yearning to find the right kind of love, and with an adorable little girl to boot, their reasons for staying professional go up in flames.
I’ve said before that Teagan’s writing is amazing, and I always end up laughing so hard while reading her books, but what I loved was how deeply I connected with these two characters. Also, seeing the bond that Dory has Kyrie (and Dory calling her little fish) had me all in my emotions!! Dory was exactly who they needed, and both Kyrie and Porter filled and healed the broken pieces of her heart.
We also had appearances from all of our beloved characters: Simon, Foster, Wren, Winson, Drew and Sully. Plus some brand new characters that I just adored!
Don’t miss out on this amazing book, and the rest of this incredible series!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
Teagan keeps bringing it with this Slice series. This time with Porter and Dory and wow just keep swimming. I loved it, like always I found myself laughing out loud. I loved the puns, and the dynamics of this book!
5 Stars
I love Dory and Porter!!
Porter has moved closer to his best friend to make more of a life for him and his daughter. He just needs to find a nanny.
Dory has not had the easiest life, she has struggled to get by and has worked 2-3 jobs at a time but that could all be about to change if she gets this job as a nanny.
The night before her interview she decides to go to the local pizza place and have a few drinks, she ends up meeting someone and spending the night with him but they are both in for the shock of their lives afterwards.
This is funny, loving and totally adorable love this whole series.
Absolutely loved these characters!
The characters are all quirky, witty, and fun. I absolutely loved Porter and Dory. They are ao great together! Plus, Kyrie is a gem. I loved that sassy little girl so much.
This is a fantastic read, as always from Ms. Teagan.
HEA, standalone, no cliffhanger.
I received a free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Oh Porter. I loved him. He’s such a great, caring dad to his daughter. I absolutely loved pancakes Wednesday! Was the most adorable tradition ever!!! I loved Dory. She was so great with kids and Porter’s daughter loved her. I mean who couldnt! I really really enjoyed this book its a great addition to the Slice series!
This book was everything I wanted and so much more! I have to start out by saying, one of my absolute favorite things about this book is Porter and Kyrie’s father-daughter relationship. It has to be one of the sweetest things I have ever read. Their adorable banter, they way their love for each other shines through in everything they do was beautiful. And I love Kyrie and her adorable sass!
The relationship between Dory and Porter made me swoon, laugh, cry, and so damn happy! They just completed each other in such a special way, like finding the missing piece of your puzzle. It was truly beautiful to watch unfold as the story went on, as they let each other in, and allowed themselves to be vulnerable with one another.
And of course, it’s not an awesome Teagan book without some pure, unfiltered, laugh-out-loud humor. Teagan always has me cracking up, busting out laughing so hard I have tears coming out of my eyes. And this book was no different!
This whole story, from beginning to end had me completely engrossed. I loved every bit of it. There is just something so special about this group of characters, Porter, Dory, Kyrie and friends that you can help but smile and fall in love little by little until you’ve fallen down the rabbit hole in love with them whole-heartedly.
There is no doubt in my mind that this book deserves a massive 5 stars (or pizza slices…)!!
Where is the NINE stars when you need it?! Doughn’t Let Me Go was CRAAAAZY fun and marvelously witty with sizzling chemistry and plenty of heart!
These characters made my heart happy and had me giggling and laughing and grinning from ear to ear. The plot is easy to follow and completely endearing. I enjoyed every entertaining moment if this amazing book!
Who doesn’t love a single dad story. Add in the fun, witty banter that comes with Teagan Hunter’s Slice series, an eccentric 7 yr old and you have a great evening read.
Porter is a sweet, kind, protective but fun dad to his little girl. They have a special relationship. But he is struggling with balancing everything with moving to a new place, running his very successful company from afar, keeping a hand on the household and his seven year old daughter. He is in need of a nanny to take some of the load off.
Dory is striving to make a better life for herself. Not a stranger to hard work and determination. Living on her own since she was eighteen, she works many jobs while working her way through college. Focused on being a social worker so she can help kids, where she didn’t seem to get the help growing up. It is very quick to see that she has is a special woman with a huge heart to share.
These characters will draw you in very quickly. The chemistry that they share is fabulous. Watching the relationship grow is sweet and just what the doctor ordered.
Haven’t read the rest of the series yet. That is quite OK, I feel you can read this as a standalone, but I have a feeling you will want to go back and catch up with everyone else.

Oh my gosh i devoured this story. It was short, witty, steamy and packed with alot of heart
Porter is a single dad to 7 year old Kyrie and a very successful business man. After he moves to a small town on the east coast from California he needs to hire a nanny to help with his daughter. After having a one night stand with the woman he now wants to hire as a nanny as she is perfect for the job he must remain professional and try not to act on his impulses however hard that may be. He is strong, caring, compassionate and has a generous heart aswell as beung vaulnerble and having insecurities. His daughter Kyrie was such an amazing character and added to the story so beautifully
Dory is a young independent college student who did not have the best home life growing and wants nothing more than to become a social worker to help children stuck in difficult situations. She is trying to stay a float and making something of her life so when she applies for a job that sounds perfect and pays well she thinks this could be it, little does she know that she had a one night stand with her would be boss the other night. Dory is independent, funny, kind and sweet as well as guarded when it comes to letting people in
I loved Porter and Dory’s dynamic and watching their relationship change and grow was such a joy to read. Their chemistry was amazing and everything about this story felt so natural and it was such an easy read
