It was just supposed to be one night. No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.Only it’s a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again. I just didn’t expect it to be at my job interview…which he’s conducting. Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I’m doing my best to avoid falling for … doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.
Except it’s much harder than either of us anticipated.
What’s a few romps between friends?
No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.
Sounds simple, right?
Right…

I absolutely LOVED this story!! Single Dad stories are my JAM and this one is definitely one of my top favorites. I was torn between reading faster to find out how it ended and reading slower because I didn’t want it to be over. I am already looking forward to reading this story again!!!
Doughn’t Let Me Go is the perfect blend of romance and laughter! I have never craved pizza more than while I was reading this story, and it was worth the wait. This can easily be read as a stand alone, but is more enjoyable if you read it as a series. A feel good romance, that will have you smiling while wanting to shake some sense into the main characters, lol. I love this series!
Porter needs a nanny for his adorable 7 year old Kylie. He ends up going for a drink meets a beautiful woman and have a one night stand. The next day he is interviewing nanny when he sees his one night stand. Both Porter and Dory have some issues they need to work through. Can they be together or will one of them keep running. Great characters and storyline highly recommended. I love the humor and all the feels. Awesome book
It was supposed to be one fabulous night with no strings attached. But when your one night stand shows up to the interview to be your child’s nanny, all rational thought flies out the window. They both promise to keep things professional . . . yeah right!
Dory is terrified of becoming too attached. Porter is afraid of being left behind. And, little miss Kyrie is the one who brings them together for more than a night!
I loved Porter. He’s a no nonsense guy, but totally overworked and in need of some serious slowing down at age 28. His relationship with Kyrie is simply amazing. He’s such a great dad, and their scenes together will melt your heart and make you chuckle. And her wit and sarcasm is out of this world.
Dory has had a harsh life and is living paycheck to paycheck. She needs Kyrie and Porter as much as they need her but she is so afraid of getting attached to anyone that she even avoids true friendships. And, she is well aware that she isn’t the only one that can get hurt when it all goes bad since Kyrie’s young heart is also at stake.
It was awesome to see the other couples from the Slice series – Wren & Foster (good lord Kyrie working Foster over is hilarious) and Drew & Winston. Sully even makes an appearance (please can Sully get a book?!) And, the cha cha slide scene . . . pure brilliance!
This was an amazing slow burn that was supposed to be “just sex” but then, feelings happen! Doughn’t Let Me Go was lots of fun with some super sweet moments and so much more than rich guy meets poor girl. 4.5 stars!
Seriously, what do they put in the pizza at Slice? That place is some serious matchmaking goals, and I love it!
I love this series so much! With it, Teagan blends two of my favorite things: romcoms and pizza! I am a total sucker for single dad romcoms, and the whole cliche Nanny thing has grown on me recently (as long as it’s done right). So, of course, this one was a hit read for me!
Porter is a wealthy single dad, trying to learn how to let go a bit. Dory is just trying to stay above water. A chance encounter, one unforgettable night, and a super awkward morning after make for some serious pull at the heartstrings romcom gold.
This book is a good blend of sweet and spicy (just how I like my pizza!), and it is filled with witty humor, punny one liners, and one sassy, and unforgettable, 7 year old!
It started with staring then a game. This was a cute story about Dory and Porter. I loved that they met at Slice. The dynamic between Dory and Kyrie was adorable. Loved seeing friends from other books. Also the new characters. Teagan makes you feel like a part of the family with her characters. I loved with the whole gang was together.
Ever since I discovered Teagan last year I have been devouring her books. And I love the Slice series and this group of characters.
Porter is the single dad that every woman swoons over. He loves his daughter and is just the perfect dad to Kyrie. Kyrie is a spitfire cutie and you can’t help but find a place in your heart t love her. Then there’s Dory. It took me a while before I had an aha moment realizing we met her in the last book. Dory is down on her luck but that doesn’t keep her down. I love her spirit and spunk.
Teagan adds her witty humor and loads of heart to this great rom-com which is full of laughter, love and life. It will pull on the heartstrings and give you all the feels in a great romance.
I can’t wait for more in the series!
Teagan Hunter did it again with this one!
Porter moves into town with his daughter, and on a night he has just to himself he goes out, and meets Dory. They have just one night. No kissing. No feelings. Just fun. It’s a small town, so it’s no surprise when Dory see’s Potter again, but what is a surprise is seeing him at her job interview. Now she’s a live-in nanny for Porter and his adorable yet sassy daughter. It’s much harder than Dory anticipated to forget all about their one night when she has to see him every day. So what’s a few more nights in the sheets? No feelings. Sounds easy right?
Porter is an amazing dad, and despite everything he still tries to do what’s best for his daughter. Even if that means moving her across the country and starting over in a new town.
Dory is struggling to make ends meet, so when the position of live-in nanny comes up that actually pays well, she has to take the chance at the opportunity to try and get on her feet. But when they chance a meeting on their only night off, what was the harm in having one night together?
If you love RomComs you need to pick up Teagan’s books. They are funny, cheesy and so stinking cute! And Dory and Porter are no exception. Plus who doesn’t love a hot single dad, am I right? You doughnut wanna miss this deliciously cheesy novel and will want a pizza this hot single dad 5 swimming out of 5.
I can always count on a Teagan Hunter book to make me laugh and swoon at the same time. I love her witty writing style and her characters always have such a real feel to them. In Doughn’t Let Me Go, Porter is a single dad who hires Dory to be nanny to his seven old daughter, Kyrie, after their one night stand. They have instant crazy chemistry but also a connection that is rooted from similar backgrounds. I could feel the push and pull of their attraction while they tried to navigate the boss/employee relationship. I loved watching Porter and Dory fall in love and didn’t want it to end. They are seriously the cutest couple and with Kyrie, the cutest family.
Oh my goodness I think Dory and Porter may be my favorite Slice couple. I absolutely loved their relationship and how things came about for them. But what I loved most was the humor. I laughed out loud so very many times I lost count. Porter was all kinds of delicious and I loved Dory’s firey spirit. I hope there’s one more book of our favorite Slice characters.
I love pretty much every word Teagan Hunter puts on paper and Dory and Porter’s story is no exception. Dory is independent and strong; so sure of herself and what she wants – even when she’s wrong. Porter is a little cocky, loving, and overworked – he’s a single dad so it comes with the territory. Dory needs to learn to open her heart and Porter needs to learn to let go a little more often. Together these two are perfection and exactly what the other needs.
I’m going to make this short and sweet because I don’t want to give anything away! I adore all of Teagan’s books!! She is a top so no matter what she puts out I’m going to grab it! I love Porter and Dory! She is an awesome heroine and Porter is amazing! The love he has for his daughter is so touching! Porter and Dory couldn’t be more perfect for one another! I can’t wait for more from Mrs. Hunter!! Bring on the next characters!! 🙂
Amazing! That’s it, that’s all you need. Doughn’t Let Me Go is amazing! Great main characters, Porter and Dory are so cute together. From the very start their banter is infectious and so much fun to read. The way the novel is set up, with interlocking side characters this gave me Christina Lauren vibes. I love a stand alone within a connected series. I really enjoyed reading Porter and Dory’s story and I am so glad I decided to pick it up!

Gah!!! I just love Teagan’s books, she’s definitely one of my favorite authors! I never question whether I’m going to one-click one of her new releases. It’s just a given. This one was no different. I was looking forward to Porter and Dory’s story so much and I was not disappointed – not that I was expecting to be. Teagan can’t write a bad book. They are always funny and witty and sarcastic, but also full of heart and gets you right in the feels when you least expect it. I love still getting to see the other characters from the Slice series.
When your one night stand becomes your nanny. Hard to keep the just one night rule when you end up working for him. A fun, sexy read.
I absolutely loved Porter and his 7 year old daughter Kyrie. Kyrie is definitely a character and you can’t help but fall in love with her. Porter’s a very successful business man but is feeling weighed down by it and needs a break. So he moves to a small town on the east coast from California. He needs to hire a nanny to help him with his daughter Kyrie. Dory is a student. Who hasn’t had a great home life. She’s been through alot. She’s struggling financially and needs another job. After a accidental meeting they end up having a one-night stand. The next morning they realize she’s one of his interviews for the nanny. She is perfect for the job. Now they must try to remain professional and not act on their burning hot chemistry. Can they make this work?Porter is strong, caring, compassionate and has a generous heart. I absolutely love this book. I definitely recommend.
I received a Advanced Readers Copy and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
Another great rom com from the queen of rom coms, Teagan Hunter. I loved this couple from the start. Dory is independent and self reliant with a huge heart, especially for kids. Porter is a great rags to riches story, an amazing single dad, and just an all around awesome man. These two hit it off right away and think they will be one night stands, even though they can’t stop thinking about each other. Then it turns out she is interviewing to be his new nanny. Right away his daughter Kyrie loves her. But Dory doesn’t do love, she won’t even let a man kiss her. Porter is determined to prove that she can take a chance on him. But Dory is anything but complicated. Again, I loved this couple. And I loved the appearance of our favorite couples in the series. This was a great book to round out the series. I hope we get more, though! Readers will fall in love with this couple right away. And pancakes on Wednesday are totally now a thing!
I have yet to find a book by this author that I haven’t completely fallen in love with or swooned over. This one was no different!
Love can hurt. Relationships and feelings are hard. Everyone knows that. Everyone knows that things can get really messy when feelings and emotions get involved. Which was exactly the case with Porter and Dory.
Both of them have been hurt in the past. Both of them fear getting hurt again. It’s how they both overcame that fear that MADE this story! Watching their walls break down and finally admit to themselves what was going on was such an amazing ride. This book had me laughing until my sides hurt and bawling like a baby in the corner at the same time. (No joke, I was sitting in my ‘reading chair’ curled up in a ball). Ms. Hunter definitely has a way with words and knows how to make the emotions of the story so raw and real that you feel them yourself. Add to that the amazingness that was Kyrie and this book is going to be hard to top!
This book was amazing, start to finish! Definitely 5 out of 5 stars (or slices 🙂 )
Doughn’t Let Me Go is the third book in Teagan Hunter’s Slice series and this is the one I’ve been waiting for. I’m such a sucker for the single dad troupe, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on his book. This was funny, heartwarming, and the sweetest.
Porter is a single dad who just moved from California to a small town in North Carolina with his daughter. He needs a change of pace, and his best friend Foster lives here, so that’s where he landed. He’s running his company remotely, but he needs a nanny to help with his seven year old daughter, Kyrie.
Dory and Porter meet at Slice and they have a spark. There is something between them, but when they learn that Dory has applied to be Kyrie’s nanny, the breaks get put on real fast. Spending time together isn’t easy, but they make it work for Kyrie.
One of my favorite things about this was Kyrie and Dory together. I loved the little nicknames they had for each other, and watching Porter with Kyrie and how much he loved her, it made me love him even more. Porter and Dory’s story was fun, but it had some heavy topics (mostly related to their childhoods/pasts). Seeing how different Kyrie’s childhood would be because of how much love they gave her… it was just the best.
This book has humor, heat, and heart in spades. I’m in love with this series and I’m hoping we get more from this world. Teagan Hunter’s books are always fun to read and this one was great!
I still remember the first time I read my first Teagan Hunter book. The one thing that stood out to me about her writing was how much life she puts into her characters. She made me fall in love with them. She made me wish that I could be best friends with them. And most of all, she made me feel like I could never love two main characters more than I did in that moment.
And so now, after reading all of her books, I’ve come to realize that with every new Teagan Hunter book that I read, I seem to feel like I have found a new favorite couple to fall in love with. So just when I thought that no one could ever compare to Drew and Winston, along came Dory and Porter with their big hearts and amazing chemistry to change my mind.
Doughn’t Let Me Go was such a well written romance novel. From start to finish this book had me giddy and excited. It is the kind of book that if you aren’t reading it, you’re probably thinking about it and wondering what is going to happen next. It was addicting. And Dory and Porter had a genuine chemistry, and both of them had such a likability factor to their characters that I never grew tired of their relationship.
Teagan Hunter’s writing has shown me over and over again that her character’s wit and sarcasm will never get old. She is consistently brilliant in her ability to create unique characters that somehow always feel relatable. And I know that I can always count on her to make me feel like I’ve just read one of my favorite books of all time.
So whether you’re new to her books or you’re an old fan wondering if this is the next book you should pick up…stop what you’re doing and read this book! To say I loved it would be an understatement. If I could crawl inside of this book and live there I would. Because these characters are forever going to be stuck inside of my head.
