It was just supposed to be one night. No kissing. No feelings. A wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am tangle in the sheets and we go our own ways.Only it’s a small town, and I was bound to run into the irresistible Porter Jones again. I just didn’t expect it to be at my job interview…which he’s conducting. Now the live-in nanny to his adorable seven-year-old daughter, I’m doing my best to avoid falling for … doing my best to avoid falling for his charms.
Except it’s much harder than either of us anticipated.
What’s a few romps between friends?
No kissing. No feelings. Just fun.
Sounds simple, right?
Right…

Teagan Hunter hits it out the ballpark again! Or out the pizza box 😉 I love the chemistry between Dory and Porter. The plot, pacing, and pizza was phenomenal. A five star read and A++ storyline.
I’ve read every book in the Slice series and none of them have disappointed me. Doughn’t Let Me Go was no different. I enjoyed this book so much. It had me laughing more than I have laughed because of a book since reading one last year. I loved Porter and Dory so freaking much. There was so much sexual tension between these two broken people who needed to find each to help them become whole again. They both just needed to see that they were stronger together and that the way they grew up and all that didn’t need to dictate their futures. Dory was such a strong-willed woman who knew what she wanted and knew exactly how she did not want to turn out. She was willing to make sacrifices to get the life she dreamed of but in doing this, she rejected relationships of any kind because she didn’t want to be left behind again like she was during her childhood. I could relate to Dory personally and I understood her motives. I was fine with her trying to keep things platonic with Porter and once that failed, trying to keep feelings out of it. I also liked Porter who had to deal with a hard childhood just like Dory. But he also had to deal with his ex leaving him with a child. He worked hard to gain the success he had and tried to be the father he could be for his daughter, Kyrie. I could relate to him as well and I loved how he was willing to do what he could just to get time with Dory. The two of them together were perfection and they worked.
My favorite character from Doughn’t Let Me Go will have to be Kyrie. That seven-year-old girl cracked me so much and the things she said were entertaining. She was such a bright child who was also cunning and knew how to negotiate. I loved seeing Kyrie with her father, Dory, and Wren but most of all I enjoyed her interactions with Foster. Those two together were comedic gold and they kept me laughing. It was nice to see Drew, Winston, Sully, and Simon as well and meeting some new characters.
This was such a well-written book that sucked me in from the very beginning and made it hard to put it down! I loved the characters, the storyline, and I cannot wait for the next book!
*I received this ARC from Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review.*
Wow, what a great read this book was. And a great representation of single dads and the how they manage too. Watching the realtionship blossom was so good and i loved their happy ever after.
Doughn’t Let Me Go is the third book in Teagan Hunter’s Slice series and OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS it was unbelievably AMAZING! I absolutely LOVE single dad romances and I just knew this author was going to give me one that would manage to wholeheartedly steal every inch of my heart.
Porter and Dory’s story captivated my soul and set it on FIRE right from the start. I could not put this one down which I totally knew would happen the moment I started reading and let’s just say I ended up staying up WAY too late, but I can’t say I regret a single second of lost sleep. This story was full of laugh out loud hilarious moments with just the perfect amount of angst (not too much, but just enough). Everything about them had me swooning the entire time I devoured all the words to their story. There was so much to LOVE and oh did I mention that I am head over heels for these two?!
This story was EVERYTHING that I have been craving in a single dad romance and Teagan Hunter definitely delivered! She is a QUEEN of ROMCOM and you all need to ONE-CLICK this story today because TRUST ME, you are going to fall in love with these incredible characters and this addictive storytelling. It is a MUST READ if you are a fan of hilarious romantic comedies and it is ONE OF HER BEST! Although let’s be honest…I say that about each new release, but only because it’s TRUE!
4.5 stars
Give me anything written by Teagan Hunter! Doughn’t Let Me Go is the 3rd book in the Slice series and it’s got the best of everything; super hot single dad, sweet and sassy girl and adorable kiddo!
I’ve been waiting for single dad Porter’s story and it did not disappoint! Interviewing potential candidates like assistants and nannies over a slice of delicious pizza seemed like a good idea at the time. Meeting a woman as intriguing as the pizza is delicious wasn’t in the plan. Porter and Dory have an instant spark and that spark quickly turns to a raging inferno. They both need the goodness they find in each other’s arms but little did they realize, how complicated things would get!
I loved everything about this book! The characters are hilarious but seem so relatable. Porter as a dad and seeing him with his sassy little girl was awesome. Dory was so smart and spunky but guarded from being let down time and time again. Learning to trust Porter and their feelings for each other was the hardest things they could do. As usual the friend group in Hunter’s books are hilarious and kept me rolling the whole time! Bring on the next one!

Dory and Porter spend a night together and then they realize their relationship needs to stay professional and the “just friends zone” is where they need to stay. They try their best but their attraction for each other was just too strong.
As always, the wit and banter of Teagan’s characters had me smiling and chuckling throughout the whole book. Her books are perfect for when I’m in need of a light, fun read that I know will make me smile. There is always perfectly timed comedy and the right amount of sexy.
Doughn’t Let Me Go was such a CUUUTE read. I applaud Teagan for coming up with these unique, yet adorable titles.
I knew before I even started this book that I was going to love it!!! If real life didn’t get in the way I would’ve even finished it in one sitting.
I really liked Porter and Dory!!! They were kind of perfect for each other. Porter had me in a constant heart eye state with how he took care of his daughter. And the relationship she had with Missy Fishy was so incredibly endearing to me.
If you know me and how much I ADORE reading books with kids in it, then you’d know that Kyrie was my favorite. She also had me laughing!!! I also enjoyed reuniting with everyone from the previous books. It felt like seeing old friends again.
I’m desperately hoping this won’t be the last of the series because I kind of need Sully’s book.
I hate to see this series come to an end but Teagan Hunter certainly know how to write it. I’d give this book 10 stars if I could. This is another hit and similar to what we’ve come to expect. You’ll laugh out loud, smile, cry and possibly even curse with the characters.
Hunter does a great job of creating two characters, Porter and Dory, that you can’t help but love and root for. Yes at times you’ll want to slap them but in the end you want them to get their happily ever after. Both have been through more than either of them realizes and it’s a battle to stay in the lines of professionalism once the walls they’ve built start to come down.
Grab this book! You will not be disappointed!
When Dory & Porter meet, they have an instant case of attraction. Alas, she’s applied to be his daughter’s nanny, so anything other than a professional relationship is not going to happen…
I loved this nanny/boss story! It’s made more adorable by Porter’s daughter and how she charms all those around her, but what I love most is how sweet Porter is. He and Dory really are perfect together, with chemistry that was obvious from their first meeting.
I LOVE single father books and this book hit a home run! I’ve been excited to read Porter’s story ever since he was introduced in the previous book of the series. Out of the three (so far) in the Slice Series, this book is my favorite! I love the connection that Dory and Porter have! The only thing I’m disappointed in is that I devoured the book in one day and now I have to wait for the next book in the series to come out
LOVED THIS LAUGH-OUT-LOUD BOOK!
Porter and Doris (Dory) have great chemistry and an easy fun-loving feeling to them that will have you turning the pages. Who doesn’t love a good story with father/daughter moments that will have tears running down your face laughing so hard. “Little Fish” was a book stealer.
Plus the added bonus of more Foster, Wren, Winston, Drew and let’s not forget Sully. I am so hoping he is the next one to find his girl because I can’t for the guys to start teasing him.
Remember Just Keep Swimming and don’t forget to Cha-Cha Slide!
Doughn’t Let Me Go is book three in the Slice series. It can be read as a standalone but if you read the previous ones you’ll notice some characters you know pop up. Porter is hot single dad. He runs a successful business. He seems to have his stuff together but he still some things to deal with. Dory a hard worker. She’s saving money to pay for college so she can be a social worker. Money is tight for her. She down to earth and nice. She takes a live in nanny job for Porter. These two have great chemistry. They both have hold ups on moving on in a relationship. This one had the prefect mix of funny, romance, and some heaviness.
I am in love. Doughn’t Let Me Go stole my heart and ran away with it. This story has so much emotion behind it that I could not stop myself from reacting to it. I seriously did not put this book down even once from start to finish.
This is a single dad romance with characters that we have met in previous books in this series. This is a stand alone story but you do get to meet these characters in previous books. I loved the idea of this book. A one night stand that turns into your child’s nanny? This is just begging for drama.
The characters are amazing. I loved Porter and Dory. They were the best characters I have read in a really long time I was really rooting for them. I also loved the chemistry and heat between them was perfect.
I loved the writing in this book. This is one of my go to authors. If I see her name, I know this book is going to be off the chain.

Epic puns, off the charts sweetness, and all the swoon! Doughn’t Let Me Go is everything I hoped for and more after I read the blurb. I was almost instantly hooked when I picked this up and I stayed hooked all the way to the end. Dory and Porter have such an adorable story that is just overloaded with humor and emotion. That humor and deeper emotion are so perfectly combined and balanced creating a book with a level of depth that really works it’s way into your heart and brings the characters to life.
Loved Doughn’t Let Me Go nearly as much as I love a good slice of pizza. I mean, it’s pizza, does anything top pizza? I have been craving Porter’s story for quite a while. I just knew it was going to be everything I wanted! Teagan Hunter hasn’t let me down yet!! Porter and Kyrie seriously made this story for me. I was completely smitten with Porter as the man he was and as the daddy. He was able to be fun but still a parent. I find that to be a hard line to walk and he excelled at it! Then the situation with Dory, the college student and future nanny. I thought Dory was fabulous and love her goals in life.
Teagan Hunter hits us with her humor again and again and I was charmed. Then getting to catch up with the previous characters was a total bonus! Every single time I read a Hunter book I find myself smiling insanely to myself. Her books aren’t just good stories but I find that I have fun reading Teagan Hunter. Her writing isn’t just funny and sweet. Her situations are relatable and ordinary, for the most part. The story seems to flow like a lazy river with those occasional waterfalls that shock you. I come back time and time again for the tickled feeling I’m always left with when I hit the end!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I absolutely love Teagan Hunter, and Doughn’t Let Me Go just solidified this fact. Told in dual point of view, Doughn’t Let Me Go is a hot and hilarious single dad / nanny romance that will literally have you falling off your bed laughing all the while reaching for a fan because wow is it hot in here?
Porter, a single dad who recently made the big move across the country with his seven year old daughter, Kyrie, is on the hunt for a nanny. Having not had the chance to let loose in years, he allows himself one night with the beautiful girl next to him at the bar. Dory, a woman on a mission to make something of herself after a crap of a past, decides to let go a little bit with the man next to her at the bar. Little do they know that their one night stand would be anything but that.
I fell in love with the chemistry between Dory and Porter. Individually they are inspiring and amazing–Dory the epitome of an independent woman whose strength and determination is inspiring; and Porter a man whose love for his daughter and determination to make sure his family has a better life than he had, in nothing short of a stan moment–but together they are dynamite. I know a lot of reviewers say this for almost every five star read that they loved, but I honest to God FELT the connection and chemistry between our love birds from the moment they met on the page, and it still is blowing my mind how that same connection and chemistry just continued to grow and get stronger as the book went on.
With every Hunter novel, we get a heavy dose of comical moments throughout that take the novel to a different place. Hunter’s way with comedy and words are one of the many reasons I love her and was continuously kept in the story and held captivated by it. The woman is clearly a genius.
With Hunter’s signature snark and relatable (and hilarious) cast of characters, this story was just what I needed to start off 2020 with. If you are looking for a swoon with romantic comedy where you will die of laughing, I seriously recommend jumping on Doughn’t Let Me Go. I cannot for the life of me recommend her work enough and I will probably be throwing this book to everyone and their moms for the rest of time.
I knew this book was going to be special from the very moment I read that blurb (plus hello to that steamy cover!) and what Teagan Hunter promised, she delivered and then some y’all.
I adore Teagan’s words and haven’t read a book yet that’s not been a favorite. Not only does she seem like a super adorable person in real life, she’s a master behind the keyboard when she writes these sweet, sexy, and easy romances (the Textual series is what got me hooked!).
Dougn’t Let Me Go was the perfect single dad romance (who knew ONE night would change everything for these characters?!) that got me all in my feels right from the very start and y’all, seriously, left me with such a big dang smile on my face by the time their journey was over. Porter and Dory (those names!!) lit up my kindle from pretty early on and I didn’t let them go, or stop their story, until after long after the pages quit turning.
You’ll run into some familiar faces (and maybe some new ones too!) while you’re in town, if you’ve been following this fun and sexy series. A. MUST. READ.
I highly recommend this book.

Teagan never lets me down.
Her books are filled with funny one liners and amazing love stories.
Porter and Dory have amazing chemistry and fun playful banter.
Enter in a sweet and sassy child and you have the makings for gold!
I laughed so hard in some parts I had tears. I didn’t want it to end.
Anyone who knows me knows I love me a single dad romance. Because swoons!
So when I found out we were getting a single dad/nanny romcom from Teagan Hunter, I was over the moon excited. I adored this book. Cute, fun, heartfelt, and flirty, Doughn’t Let Me Go is my new favorite book in the Slice series. Porter, Dory, and Kyrie are so darn perfect together. Porter as a dad, especially, is all kinds of drool worthy. I love, love, love the relationship between him and Kyrie. How he talks to her with so much honesty and openness is probably my favorite thing in this book.
I think I enjoyed this book more than the previous in the series because this couple didn’t feel as immature as the others. And I don’t mean that as a way to put down the other books because I really do like them. But with Porter being a single dad with a successful business and Dory growing up in the environment she did, I found Doughn’t Let Me Go to be more adult. Don’t get me wrong, it still had fun back and forth banter and Teagan Hunter’s brand of humor. Just with a little more seriousness to the story.
If you want a fun and flirty romcom with tons of heart. You’ll want this one.
After his divorce all Porter wants is a new start for him and his seven year old daughter Kyrie. Now that he has recently moved into town the next item on his list is to secure a nanny but fate must be laughing at him when the perfect woman for the job is also the woman he spent one steamy evening with.
Dory is focused on finishing college so that she can help other children have a happier childhood than she did. Working as Porter’s nanny is exactly the job she needs but keeping their relationship strictly professional may be the biggest challenge of all.
There is no denying the heat between Porter and Dory but it is the emotional connection not only between them but that they both have with Kyrie that will have you hoping that the three of them get the happy ever after that they deserve.
