I am so in love with this book, it’s the first i’ve read by this author and I am hooked. There are so many twists and turns, never a dull moment. The relationship between Eden and Liam is out of this world. This is an awesome read.
I am all over the place with this review. I have said it before that BDSM Dom/sub isn’t really my thing but in this case it wasn’t really a big part of this story but it was. Liam was a slippery sort. I mean there were places where he is the monster and places where he is the sweet Irish lover we all dream about. He was fierce and protective loving and caring, lying and deceitful, a criminal and a killer. Eden on the other hand is a total clash. She goes from calm, demur, studious, good girl busting her buns to get ahead to what she becomes at the end. I don’t know whether to love her for the strength and tenacity or hate her.
There is so much going on in this read, which I personally love, that there is no chance to be bored or veer off in your head without missing something. Who’s the bad guy, is she safe, where’s, what and then it all comes together and a calm settles. This author can easily become a favorite of mine because I love when there is so much action and twist that I have to stay in tune to the story so I don’t get lost. I feel like these authors are turning me into a sadist because the more they mess with my emotions the more I want to read their books.

In an attempt to clear my endless backlog of books I’ve bought, I dived into Double Vision fairly blind. I say fairly blind because I’m guessing it was recommended to me – by who? I can’t remember, but whoever you are – THANK YOU!
Don’t you just love it when you have no idea what you’re going into but it turns out to be a cracking read? That’s exactly what Double Vision was for me. All the usual clichés should be used for this one – a real page turner, had me hooked and couldn’t put it down – because they’re true!!!
I won’t go over the story again, because there are enough reviews here for you to get the gist, but I will say, Liam and Eden’s story is unexpected with so many twists and turns, I felt dizzy. It also had many elements that I love. A little kink, an alpha, some Mafia and pure passion to name a few. There’s nothing better than a story that just keeps developing as you read plus the chapters are quite short (although there are many to keep you going) so picking it up at different intervals was made easier.
Let me start off by saying, everyone needs to read this book! It captivated me from the very first sentence. The story of Liam and Eden is a dark, delicious, mind twisting story that will leave you emotional. These characters completely imbedded themselves into my very heart and soul. This story has so much going for it that you won’t want to put it down. So much action, drama, sadness, anger, happiness….it has it all! I highly recommend this phenomenal story!!!
You need to read this book!!
Do you ever read a new author to you and think why have I not read anything by them before? That was my reaction after reading Double Vision. Prepare to be blown away!! This was a fast paced roller coaster ride with more twists and turns then any thrill ride you have ever been on. Liam and Eden’s story is not one of sunshine and unicorns. This was a dark read that pulled me in from the very beginning and held me prisoner. Throughout this book I loved Liam and I hated Liam, but in the end I loved him. Eden is one of the strongest heroines I’ve read in a long while. My heart broke for her over and over. She truly is the hero in this story for all the right reasons. Miss Halloran has successefully weaved a tale of seduction, betrayal, loss, and love. She shattered my mind and heart. She kept me on the edge of my seat. She also gave me the ending I was holding my breath for. I definitely recommend this book.

For a girl who really dislikes reading about stories involving a D/s relationship *shudder*, I was pleasantly surprised by this story. Thankfully, all BDSM activities were kept to a minimum and instead readers are treated to a hard fought for romance involving rival organised crime families [a big plus for me] and unknown beginnings.
Throughout this story, I was unable to predict where the storyline was heading next. From an innocent upbringing, the heroine, Eden, finds herself thrust into a life of crime, guns, violence, and uncertainty. Living in the shadows for most of her adult life, Liam is the man that Eden falls for as he promises to protect her, always. With the complexity of their relationship they find themselves separated periodically only for Liam to come to Eden’s rescue whenever her safety is threatened. Liam is an Irish gangster and is known for his knack of finding people, as Eden can attest to. As their story progresses, their love for one another increases but given their respective backgrounds, the question is will they ever be able to find a peaceful solution to the problems they face?
As always with LM Halloran, this book is incredibly well written. She is able to create characters that you are immediately drawn to and stories that absorb you mind, body and soul. Next stop is London and Dominic’s story. Whilst this again may test my BDSM limits [a safeword or two may be needed!!!] I am certainly keen to see how their story evolves.
I read the teaser for this book and thought to myself, this looks interesting. There was nothing in this teaser that prepared me for the intense rollercoaster of emotions: passion, devotion, loyalty, love, hate, revenge, fear!! This was a book that literally kept me up all night to finish, there was no way to put it down once I started. L.M Halloran seems to have an uncanny ability to capture people’s personas on paper and translate that into an almost living entity bringing them to life. Before I started this book, I was told Liam was a favorite and I can certainly say with 100% certainty, he has become one of mine.
A real page turner I thoroughly enjoyed!
Mesmerizing and unique. I was addicted to this story from the beginning. It’s haunting and dark, and yet so interesting I couldn’t stop reading. This is the second book I’ve read by this author, (the first was Breaking Giants–read that one too!!!) and now I’m hooked. I love her style of writing, and both books were fantastic. She’s definitely on my one-click list!!
Out of darkness comes light
A twisty journey to peace and love. Eden and Liam’s path is rocky and strewn with obstacles. I loved every single second of this story. Darkness, light, surrender, resistance, good, evil. Sometimes discovering your roots is not all it’s cracked up to be.
~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
So holy sh!tballs was this book FAN-F-CKING-TASTIC. How on earth have I not read anything by this author before??!! I am seriously speechless right now. This is probably one of THE best books I have read in a long time. I frigging LOVED it <--- obviously (lol). It was fantastically well written. It is a fairly long book, but the pace was perfect. The plot was super engaging and kept me turning the pages. In fact, I read this one cover to cover in one go. The timeline bounces back and forth from past to present. Which you know if you follow my reviews I usually HATE. That said, in this instance, it was seamlessly done and the "Present" chapters added a lot of mystery and drama. There were also twists and turns galore. Violence. Secrets. Lies. Murder. Torture. BDSM. Mafia. Heartbreak. Redemption, and so much more. And the ending, well that was pretty much the perfect cherry on top of an amazing book. ~HERO~ LIAM...good lord I don't even know where to begin with this guy. He was a complex character that is for sure. The author does a good job of keeping you guessing as to his motives. The secrets he is keeping. The lies. Is he to be trusted? Is he not? On top of all that he was sexy as f-ck. A smokin hot alpha Dom. I loved him. I hated him. I loved him again. He was an amazingly well developed anti-hero. ~HEROINE~ EDEN...Just as well written. Just as complex. Just an intriguing as her male counterpart. I loved Eden as well. This poor girls heart and life get ripped to shreds. I wanted to hug her. I wanted to tell her to wake the f-ck up. So many times during this book I didn't know which direction the author was going in regard to Eden's character. My fingernails are no more. But she pulled it off because I couldn't think of a more fitting ending for Eden. She was a fighter for sure. ~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~ There was a really good array of secondary characters in this one. Some play larger roles than others. A lot of them intrigued me enough that I would love to read more about them. London and Dominic for example. I also loved Raul and Karina. Each one of them no matter how small or large a part they played added fantastic layers to the plot and keep the story moving. ~HEAT LEVEL~ Medium. The sex scenes were suitably spicey and moderate in frequency. Most of them are BDSM based. The author warns in her Author's Note that there is dubious consent but "I" didn't really see anything that "I" would consider DC. But that was just my interpretations. ~ANGST LEVEL~ High. This is a pretty angsty read. It's a dark book with a lot of secrets. Push and pull. Lies. Heartache. That said, the angst never came from OW or OM drama. Neither were virgins and their sexual pasts weren't really discussed. ~IN THE END~ I LOVED IT. Clearly. I don't think I could possibly fangirl harder (lol). It was just a fantastic read. Amazing writing. Amazing plot. Amazing characters. Hot sex. Tons of feels. Perfect ending. Yours truly is giving this one two HUGE thumbs up. And, I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for what this author has in store for us next.
