Couldn’t put the book down! The ending was way over the top. Years in the making, they eventually tie the knot on Valentine’s Day!
Double Trouble is a ménage story that, while sexy, is lacking a strong emotional connection between the three characters, and one of the heroes is pretty unlikable.
Bridget is a busy bar owner who has been pursued by successful banker, Daniel, for three years, but she’s always turned him down because something about him gets under her skin. When she sees him at a local club and the dom in him realizes her submissive tendencies, he becomes even more determined to have her. To that end, he colludes with her sister to get her to enter a charity auction, in which he bids on, and wins, a weekend to be spent with her at the soon to be opened B&B/events hall he and his brother own. When she finally runs out of excuses to not spend the weekend with him, and she arrives, she finds out Daniel has an equally gorgeous and dominant twin brother, Jacob, with whom she and Daniel will spend the weekend exploring all their fantasies.
Normally I’d be all for a sexy MFM ménage story, but in this case I just could not connect with it. Yes, it’s hot, but beyond that, there’s not much to it. In order for a ménage to be successful, the emotional connection between the three characters must be equal to, or stronger than, the physical, and here in Double Trouble, that just is not the case. Daniel claims to have been obsessed with Bridget for three years, but I didn’t believe that for a second. Do I believe he wanted her? Absolutely. Obsessed with her? Loved her? Not even a little bit. Add in the fact that he was kind of an asshole and yeah, I was turned off his character a lot. And then there’s Jacob. I found him to be the nicer of the two twins, but considering that he had known Bridget for a weekend, I can’t believe that he felt as strongly for her as Daniel claimed to feel for her. Ugh. Double Trouble is just an excuse for a bunch of lightly kinky threesome sex. There’s no genuine love, no strong feelings, nothing passionate and loving at all. Such a disappointment. If you’re looking for a well balanced ménage, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you only care about the steamy stuff, then Double Trouble may be for you.
This is one hot book! I not only loved the plot and the way the story developed but the hotness of it. It brought out the emotions of all the characters. The highs and lows of each one. There is just something about loving someone who wants nothing to do with you and then finally they see you for who you are. Then add your brother into the mix and sparks surely start flying. These three main characters go through some ups and downs as they find their way to happiness and love.
Two hot and sexy dominates, meet up with a possible submissive, in Sierra Cartwright’s, Double Trouble. Daniel and Jason are interested in having a shared relationship with Bridget, but will she be interested in doing so past the one shared weekend.
Bridget Kelley has been single for a while and hasn’t had sex in what feels like forever. No one has come into her life that she has been interested in. And so, she has thrown herself into work, fighting to stay as busy as she possibly can.
Daniel Armstrong has been interested in Bridget since he first crossed paths with her three years ago. Since then, he has pursued her, even though she has turned him down at every opportunity. He is not sure if he is interested in her because he is seriously attracted to her, or if just because she continues to turn him down.
While working the bar of a charity event for her sister, Bridget is unknowingly put up for auction for a date. This is David’s opportunity to gain some personal and direct time with Bridget. Bridget wants to do whatever she can to get out of it. She doesn’t trust Daniel. He is constantly seen out with a variety of women. So, in her mind, he doesn’t have the staying power that she would need from someone that she is interested in.
THIS BOOK WAS HOT. This was my second book to read by Sierra Cartwright, and I have now decided that I will be reading everything by her. The personal relationship between Daniel and his brother, is interesting. Different in that the twin brothers share women. But then the relationship between Daniel and Bridget was something to see. Hot, hot, hot, FIVE stars.
