“Seriously funny, wickedly entertaining. Davis gets me every time.” – Janet Evanovich
It’s convention season at the Bellissimo Resort and Casino and Davis Way Cole barely notices. It’s hard to pay attention when you live in a Jambalaya Junkyard. But when Special Events Coordinator Holder Darby walks off the job just as five hundred Alabama bankers pour in the front door, Davis steps up.
Or … up.
Or would that be in? Definitely in. Davis steps in.
It.
Not only has the convention director vanished, but a certain Bellissimo guest is missing. One who forgot to pack the million dollars he left in the bathtub. It looks like our redhead newlywed Super Secret Spy’s lazy summer is over when the Bellissimo vault is robbed. Can Davis connect the dots before it’s too late? Can she get her Taser gun back from Bianca Sanders? Will she be stuck with Eddie Crawford’s 1962 Cadillac forever? What Davis needs is a little faith. And a lot of luck.
DOUBLE MINT.
New money. Old sins. Back to jail. And a cat.
(A cat?)
Break the Bank.
“As impressive as the amount of sheer fun and humor involved are the details concerning casino security, counterfeiting, and cons. The author never fails to entertain with the amount of laughs, action, and intrigue she loads into this immensely fun series.” – Kings River Life Magazine
“Love it! Davis has made her Way in this delightfully entertaining tour de force. The author’s descriptive and creative narrative pulled me in immediately in this fun-filled and action-packed drama that quickly became a page-turner as I could not put this book down until the last sentence was read…the best one yet in this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.” – Dru’s Book Musings
“Smart dialog, an intriguing protagonist, and a humorous take on life. The interesting part for me, in recommending this book, is that I’ve shared it with four friends before I got around to writing an official review. Don’t waste time reading about the book—go get it.” – Book Lens
“One of the best and funniest series out there, I thoroughly recommend them all.” – Deb Krenzer, BookLikes
“I loved this book. What a breath of (cozy mystery) fresh air. It was fun. It was funny. (Yes, I laughed out loud.)… A great novel to pick up this summer. I can tell you that after finishing Double Mint, the first three books in the series just made my summer reading list.” – Hidden Staircase
“Tasers and Cadillacs and robbers, oh my! Davis is in fine screwball form in this latest entry in the series. New readers, as well as those who already know the series, will be pleased.” – Books for Avid Readers

Funny and well told. Listened to the audiobook which was great.
Another one in a great, fun series – love it
Davis Way is back to uncovering crime and engaging in hi-jinks at the Bellismo Casino. Employed as a special undercover agent at the Bellismo, Davis is expected to uncover and take down criminal operations at the casino. Those who have read the earlier volumes in this series will recall that Davis was hired by the Bellismo because she looks exactly like her boss’s wife. She has married the resort’s security chief, and they reside in an on-site penthouse apartment. As this volume opens Davis has been forced to take over the special events coordinator’s job, after the incumbent walked out of the hotel, never to return. She has also discovered the equipment to print fake currency lodged deep in the walls of her apartment. Then there’s the fridge: it doesn’t work, and needs to be fixed, except it’s a crazy, ugly behemoth no one has ever seen before. Then a group of security professionals show up for a conference, with entertainment consisting of high stakes slot tournaments, and platinum goes missing from the casino vault.
The story is a bit nuts, but it’s also absolutely hilarious. It’s high-energy, high-action, and high-humor. Davis offers significant snarky commentary about her apartment, decorated as if a Party City barfed up a New Orleans themed issue of a decorating magazine. Nothing in this book is expected. If you think you know where there plot is going, you probably don’t. I’m excited to see where this series is going to go next.
This is a great series, if you read one you will keep wanting more. Exciting and interesting characters. Each book is better then the last. Gretchen Archer and the Davis Way Series does not disappoint.
I bought this book because it said it was ‘humorous’. I found it to be fast paced, clever, smart and humorous. Enjoyed it very much, got the rest in the series and have at least 5 friends reading the series now!
Hilarious! Stephanie plum on steroids, can’t wait to read another
Love this series! The whacky Las Begas crowd lends itself to each installment!
Good when you want something entertaining to read that also has some intrigue to it.
Not enjoying
Silly fun.
Love. Love. Love.
Davis Way is the funniest and funnest person you could ever read about. Her escapades make the greatest stories ever! I have read this whole series and will read them again. Not just a funny silly read….a great mystery too. The characters are hilarious.
Loved reading this book about a strong female character working behind the scenes in the world of casino gaming….especially the surprise at the end!
I am thoroughly enjoying this series, which is fun and well-written – and well-edited! The books have a great sense of setting (Biloxi and surrounds), as well as extremely likable (some zany) characters.
I like these Double books – good reading, interesting and I will look for more. This is my second one.
I love this series! You’ve got to read this just for the bits when mom uses Siri to text. Laugh-out-loud moments throughout the book, but also demonstrates caring and growing relationships.
Just a fun quick reading mystery
Absolutely one of my favorite authors! I constantly check to see if she has new books available. I laugh myself silly reading her books. People compare her to Janet Evanovich but she is a much more talented writer and the books are even funnier and yet still wholesome. Not sure I’ve ever seen a more likeable main character! Read them all and thank me later 🙂
Davis Cole’s sarcastic narrative will keep readers chuckling from start to finish. And for the more easily entertained, there’s a cat.
Fun read
