The 18th cozy mystery in the Hannah Swensen series by Joanne Fluke is called Double Fudge Brownie Murder and was published in 2015. In this caper, Hannah travels to Las Vegas with her sisters for their mother’s surprise wedding. Hannah is also still waffling between Norman and Mike, but everything changes in this book. A special guest shows up and …
I love Joanne Flukes cookie mysteries. They are fun and easy to read and I love the characters. You get a mild dose of murder and scary and a little clean romance mixed in with solving a crime.
I enjoyed reading the Hannah Swensen series. I like the characters, dialogue, and that is set in a small town in Minnesota. Of course, I love that she has a cat!
This particular installment of the Hannah Swenson series is written in reflective style, telling a full story about the past to her new husband.
Chuck full of recipes to try–
I like this whole series , I have read every one of them. (Though She may be starting to run out of ideas as the stories are shorter and the recipes are longer). I love the recipes and have made several of them.
Poorly written
I thoroughly enjoy all of the Joann Fluke books. She is an amazing writer.
Could not hold my attention
Love the recipes
Funny, heartfelt and kitties! And a murder. Who could ask for more? I enjoyed it immensely!
There was too much cooking information and recipes. The mystery got lost in focus on food.
The Hannah Swensen books are becoming a bit repetitive. There are some good recipes, but are frequently repeated within the chapter text. I’m awaiting the latest one ‘Triple Chocolate Cheesecake Murder’ and hope it has a bit more originality. But nonetheless an enjoyable read.
This series by Joanne Fluke is easy reading – entertaining and with enough detail and variation to keep you reading through to the end – sometimes in one long sitting! 🙂 The recipes with practical tips included throughout are a plus – inspiring some attempts at new and delicious desserts.
One needs to read some of her previous books to understand the characters and the premise. Otherwise it is a fun read.
Love these fun to read for pure entertainment type of books. This is a great one.
Now I need to read the next one to see who she marries. Or does she?
I loved this book. A very interesting mystery. Several delicious recipes. I am already tried a few.
Love her books, the recipes are great too!
When I saw the title, I expected a murder mystery wrapped in a funny romance story. I was wrong, the book is a recipe book for desserts. I stopped reading after I read about 40 percent of the book.
About the only thing the book is good for is recipes.
