Wow, I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. A completely compelling story that grabs you by the scruff of your neck and doesn’t let go. I fell in love with the characters instantly and cannot wait to read more in the series.
Wow what a book that will give your emotions a roller coaster ride. This is a first for my read from this author. This book is amazing and has taken me on a ride that I could feel like I was right in the book as you can feel the emotions that the author is writing of the pages.
Loved it
This story grabbed me from the very beginning. Such a sweet love story between Jonathan and Gabby. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
4.5 STARS!!!
I have to start my review about the cliffhanger ending because I was not ready for it. I wanted and want more of Gabby and Jonathan and with an ending like that I know I will get it. These characters had flaws, they made mistakes and they knew as much as they wanted to fight it, they wanted each other more. It will be a dreaded wait but I’ll be waiting for the next book. I enjoyed this story a lot and I loved the side characters as much as I did the main characters; especially Lauren. If readers are looking for a sweet rock star/college read then this book will not disappoint. I finished it in one sitting; the story flow was perfect. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and as you can tell it definitely wont be my last.
Return to College with Gabby, Lance’s little sister. Gabby is a violinist and a 19 year old Freshman and when she meets Jonathan an ex-boyband member she is drawn to him. But when one viral video explodes and pushes them both into the spotlight it bursts their bubble. Jonathan and Gabby has to decide whether their relationship is more important than Jonathan’s new found stardom. It was nice seeing Lance and Abby again, no matter how brief. I felt Gabby was a strong character but Jonathan was kind flip flopping as to what he wanted. He wanted Gabby but he wanted his stardom too. This book ends with a HFN, so just know there’s more to Gabby and Jonathan’s story coming. I enjoyed this story and I look forward to what is next.
Double Exposition – Songs and Sonatas Book 1 by Jerica MacMillan – 4 stars
Jonathan was a one hit wonder – teen sensation with his brothers (I pictured The Hanson Brothers) and he has moved on from the fame and is now a student at Marycliff University where he meets Gabby who is an aspiring concert violinist, music major. He is a senior and she is a freshman. He is about to finish school and go on to becoming a grownup. She is just beginning her new adventure.
I really enjoyed the introduction to this new series. Double Exposition is book 1 of 3 in the series and I’m so glad the author lets us know that other characters in the book will get their own stories also. I am looking forward to seeing how everything ties together and resolves itself. The characters of Jonathan and Gabby are quickly developed, the story moves along at a good speed and it kept my attention from beginning to end.
I “played” the violin as my school instrument for a few years, yet I’ve never really thought about how music is composed. This was a really cool insight into the making of a song. I am tone deaf and make up my own words to songs and I am so glad that there was a playlist that accompanied the book. I always enjoy listening to music referenced in a story.
I look forward to the next installment to this series to see where Jonathan and Gabby land.
