The stunning conclusion to the All In Duet… In Vegas, there was one man who was off limits. One man… and I fell for him. I knew there were risks. Still, I played the game. When Dario Capece called, I answered. When he beckoned, I came. When he broke all my rules, I looked the other way. I knew there were risks. I just never realized they included death. Note: This book should be read after …
Note: This book should be read after Even Money (available now).

Double Down was the suspenseful conclusion to Alessandra Torre’s cliffhanger, Even Money. (Note: this is not a standalone. Make sure you have read Even Money first. Not only to get more of Dario’s supreme excellence but in order to have the full story going in).
Without spoiling the end of Even Money, Double Down has everyone in Vegas investigating the cliffhanger at the end of Even Money. All I have to say is don’t place your chips on the story ending like you think it should. Alessandra Torre is the mistress of sexy suspense. This story is no exception.
It takes just one spin of the wheel for things to change in Vegas…in Double Down, that can happen with the turn of a page. Loved it!
Personal note, there are some side characters I would love to see get their own books. Cough..Laurent…cough.
An amazing finish to the duet. Alessandra weaves a captivating tale of love, betrayal, loyalty and so much more. Bell and Dario find their way through a landmine of challenges and come out stronger than ever at the end. I loved this story.
While I loved Even Money, I felt less so with Double Down. I loved the suspense and the characters, but the story fell a little short for me. There were so many twists and turns in DD, so many things happening that kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat, but the story fell a little short for my liking. I still absolutely loved this duet, and would definitely recommend it.
Double Down was unputdownable!!!! After that brutal cliffy in book 1 of this duet I needed book 2 ASAP! I needed to know all the things!!!!!
Alessandra Torre has a knack for writing romantic suspense and I get sucked in every time! I gobbled this book up in one sitting. I. Couldn’t. Stop.
Even Money, book 1 in this duet was the infancy of our H and h’s relationship. I thought they’d been through it, but it was nothing compared to DD! It was the built up to the fall down….
This book was thrilling, exciting, suspenseful, steam filled, angst filled and WTF filled! The author spun a web that I got caught in from cover to cover. Such detail and care went into this wild ride and made it even more enjoyable.
Twists you won’t see coming. Plot points that make you go…WHAT?????!!!! DD picks up right where Even Money left off so get ready to be wowed!
This is a pretty messed up story. 🙂 It’s dark and a little bit crazy. The whole story is sort of complex and very interesting. I will admit that I was slightly confused by the ending. I wasn’t sure if I missed something, or it it was intentionally left as vague so you would have to draw you own conclusions. The characters were well-written and I especially loved Laurent. This was my first experience with an AT story and I will go back and read some others.
I was on pins and needles since I finished Even Money and the highly anticipated conclusion to the All In Duet was definitely worth the wait! It was quite a rollercoaster as a matter of fact!
This story that was well-written, suspenseful, unpredictable and emotionally compelling. It was intense, and it only got more and more intense as the story progressed. Alessandra Torre really delves into the dark romance genre perfectly. What makes Double Down a mesmerizing thrill-ride is the meticulous way in which its plot unravels. This is the type of plot which you don’t want specifics before reading because they would be spoilers in a big way. The fear and heat levels rise pretty high and often, the twists and turns are unpredictable and nerve wracking at times!
The story basically kept me on the edge of my seat from page one, holding my breath with just so much anticipation of what was going to happen next. The story flowed really smoothly and I loved reading in dual POV and getting inside each of the main character’s heads. In this installment, Dario and Bell’s romance took a backseat to the suspense. I was fully invested and their relationship was really enhanced by the danger and drama. This book keeps you guessing and I still question a few things. Overall, this story has been quite the emotional ride! The author did a great job of tying up all main loose ends and giving me the happily ever after I wanted for Bell and Dario.
I’m not really sure what to think about the conclusion to this duet. Overall it was good, but for me it fell a little short. It pains me to say that because I usually love anything Alessandra writes, and I did enjoy book one of the duet.
There were a lot of questions that were answered, but there were also a lot left unanswered. Maybe that’s by design because their are plans for a spin off? It left me wanting more. Which isn’t fun when the duet is complete. I want answers! Ha!
Overall, this is a solid read. If you read the first book (which I really enjoyed), pick up this book. It is good and some questions will be answered. Just be aware it may leave you wanting more.
So this is going to be one of those reviews that are really hard to write, but let’s try.
After finished reading Even Money, I kid you not, I was desperate to read Double Down, that ending left me breathless so the moment it hit my kindle I dived into it. Unfortunately for me, it was not what I was expecting.
The intensity from the first book got lost somewhere between Louisiana and Las Vegas, meaning that I didn’t get that heart-pounding feeling I got while reading Even Money. This book felt rushed, therefore unfinished. Sorry, but I didn’t get the HEA vibes with this couple. There were a lot of missing points here, and there was some particular scene where I was like ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? THAT EASY?. After that, I knew right away to where the author was going with that and let’s say I was not happy. The thing was a little bit predictable.
It’s hard to keep a reader focus on the main couple when the author delivers another character that totally steals the show. Laurent, baby, I will go to church with you. He needs his own book. All that cajun twang had me salivating for more!
Three days later, and I’m still in shock. I can’t believe I went from I need the next book like I need the air I breathe, to WTF is going on here, and why is not Laurent the hero? Gawd, I’m frustrated.
Putting aside my ranty review, I have to say that Alessandra Torre’s writing was in a way, captivating. But sadly, Double Down didn’t hook me in like I had hoped but that does not mean it won’t hook YOU, so read it and let’s talk about it later.
Double Down picks right back up where we left off in Even Money and after that cliffhanger, I couldn’t wait to get back to it.
Devastation and destruction have erupted full force in Dario’s life, causing a domino effect that leaves him and all who he loves in danger. From the glittering city of Vegas to the swamps of Louisiana, no one is safe.
The twists and turns in this book make for a fantastic plot. With each threat that is handled, another waits in the wings. Ready to pounce and hell bent on extracting revenge, all to make Dario pay for falling in love with Bell.
The insta-lust, turn insta-love definitely gives this book a scorching hot rating from me. Dario and Bell’s need for one another lives and breathes in the pages and would almost be perfect if it weren’t for all the lying, arrests and death they have to endure in order for them to be with each other.
The dark elements of the story make it a raw and gritty read that will rope you in until the final page.
It’s well written and deserves a place in the ranks with other titles by this author.
I would highly recommend Double Down after reading Even Money……it’s a gamble that will pay off.
Bring on the next book Alessandra Torre and congratulations on a job well done!
Double Down is a great conclusion to Even Money! I enjoyed Dario and Bell’s intense love story. The writing style was unique to anything I have read before. The multiple POVs were interesting and gave a different perspective from each character and added so much to the storyline. While this is the end to this duet, there is a little part of me left unsettled after reading chapter 29. I’m so nervous! I think readers will find it quite intriguing and want more. I know I do!
Double Down is a trilling, sexy read uniquely written and full of passion and suspense. I highly recommend!

”Just love me through the cracks.”
A brilliantly heart-stopping, palm-sweating and thrilling conclusion to Bell and Dario’s tale, Double Down is everything I’ve hoped for and more. It had me melting all over the place and at the same time, holding my breath, constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. And oh, did it ever.
This book was the absolute epitome of a rollercoaster ride—it had so many ups and downs, leaving my stomach in knots and my heart lodged in my throat. Every turn, every twist aimed to blindside me. The action never stopped. The blazing chemistry and onslaught of emotions were there from start to finish. I felt for Dario. I felt for Bell. I felt their pain, their guilt, their longing. But I also felt the intense, unique and once in a lifetime kind of love they had deep in my bones.
Although, I do wish Robert Hawk’s story was expounded on a teeny bit more here. His fate in the whole thing kind of fell off too abruptly and too easily for a character who was built up to be an evil sociopath who was overly powerful and someone to be feared. But nonetheless, I was extremely happy.
The All In Duet is now one of my all time favorites from Alessandra Torre. She truly had me on edge the entire time I found myself engrossed in Bell and Dario’s lives. If you’re looking for a flawlessly written and crazy mindf*ck of a romantic suspense, you’ll need to have Even Money and Double Down at the top of your list. Trust me, this duet is one you wouldn’t want to miss.
This book just WOW! I really really really like this duet. I love a book that takes me on twists and turns. Unexpected events and endings. This book does not disappoint. Well developed storyline with likable characters. Escape reality for awhile and enjoy this suspenseful ride. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down.

I’m at a loss for words! For me, that never happens! If you have not read Even Money, part one of the duet, read it now! You have to read it first otherwise you will be so lost.
Even Money and Double Down are by far the best duet I have read so far this year. In Double Down, you get the conclusion but there are still WTF moments.
The chemistry/love between Dario and Bell is even more intense, it is amazing. There is nothing, scratch that, one thing I would change but I cannot go into detail. The romance, the suspense, the whole darn book is amazingly awesome. Alessandra is such an amazing and talented writer, her characters are so well developed and the story line is just astounding.
OMG I never thought we would see each other again sex? Check.
You want to cry? Check.
You want to go in the book and kick someone’s butt? Check.
You want romance and suspense? Check.
You want just about every emotion there is? Check.
You will fall in love with Dario. You will fall in love with Bell. You will see the lengths someone will go through to save the person they love.
If I could go into more detail believe me I would. However, I can’t! Just trust me when I say, READ THIS DUET!!
4.5 stars
This is book 2 in this duet and I highly advise you to read book 1 Even Money before you start this one as it picks up straight were it left off.
This book took me on quite the ride, there were so many gripping and fantastic twists and turns. You will be kept on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.
Dario and Bell have to go through so much to get their happy ending. Their love is beautiful to watch, its powerful and feeds each other strength.
I am hoping there will be more to come from this series as there is a door left open giving me hope.
If I thought Even Money was an intense thrill-ride, I have no idea how to classify Double Down. The book picked up right where book one left off and ran full-steam ahead. The action continued to ramp up until there was nothing left but for the entire thing to fly off the rails and leave no one unscathed. The fever pitch with which this book moved left me reeling when it was all said and done.
Bell and Dario and their seemingly mismatched dynamic continued to fascinate me in this book. They were so different; Dario, ordered, in control, dominating, while Bell was more of an independent free-spirit. I loved how they challenged one another when it was appropriate, but still knew when to acquiesce to each other’s insecurities.
While Even Money showcased the shine and polish of Vegas, with subtle hints to the seedy underbelly of the city, Double Down lived in that underbelly, with little concern with the façade Vegas presents to its admirers. It unraveled decades of treachery and lies, exposing the horrors that laid waiting to be unearthed.
Double Down was such a compelling ending to this fabulous duet. I was swept up in the suspense and trying to tie all the loose ends into a finished product, but there are still some ends that refused to be bound, which gave the book a feeling of reality. I am wholly satisfied with the story we got and the state of Bell and Dario’s relationship, but I’m sure I’ll be thinking about the unfinished parts for a while. I feel like I could live in this world for several more books and still have a desperate need to know more, as it’s just that intriguing.
The only wish I had for this book was what seemed to be a pretty significant continuity error. All mentions of Claudia’s disappearance by law enforcement said she’d been gone for two years, but when she spoke of it, she said she’d been put in a cell by Robert four years earlier. I’m sure the two years is right, and I have no idea where the four years came from.
Double Down is the second and final book in Alessandra Torre’s All In duet. These books form one complete story and must be read in order. Double Down is written in both first-person and third-person limited perspective. Bell’s passages are written in first-person, while all other voices are written in third.
Alessandra Torre has won herself a reader for life with this duet. I was so drawn in by her writing, enamored by her storytelling, consumed by her characterizations, I can’t imagine letting another of her releases pass me by.
At the beginning of Alessandra Torre’s All In Duet, even though they were living drastically different lives, Dario Capece and Bell Hartley were on equal footing, at least when it came to their mutual attraction. Bell had all of the power because she could choose to give into her desire for Dario or continue to use her head, understanding the consequences that came with starting a relationship with a powerful and married man, knowing that they would never be a ‘normal’ couple. But at the end of Even Money and heading into Double Down, Bell is led completely by her heart, which means that despite the risks…despite the radio silence that has to occur between her and Dario…despite her guilt, insecurity, and jealousy, Bell remains steadfast and never gives up on what she has with Dario; in fact, she risks everything to be with him, raising the stakes for them both.
Alessandra Torre illustrates the conflicted feelings that both Dario and Bell feel as they try to cope with the loss of Gwen and the subsequent events that occur because of Gwen’s death. Neither of them are safe, which means that as Dario works to bring down his father-in-law, he needs to watch his and Bell’s backs as well as work to secure the chance that he desperately wants when it comes to his love for Bell.
The varying perspectives present in the story allow readers to understand the full impact of the plot’s events, concretely illustrating how one act is the spark…the catalyst for other actions occurring in the book, and as insight is provided, readers are able to see what Dario and Bell are truly up against, which is much more dangerous and deadly then they even seem to realize.
Love each other ‘through the cracks.’ That’s what Double Down is all about…Dario needs Bell to stand by his side, even when circumstances feel too overwhelming, even when it feels like there’s no way back to what they had due to everything that has occurred. What Dario and Bell are experiencing is a life or death situation, so Bell must decide if love is worth dying for, and as Torre crafts the climax of Dario and Bell’s story taking them towards a resolution, they both need to decide if they’re ready to fold or raise the stakes, risking everything for love.
4 Poison Apples
After that ending in Even Money, the first and must read book in this duet, comes Double Down, an action packed story that will leave you breathless!
Oh my… Dario gives us a little bit more of insight about him in this book. He’s an extraordinaire man! Specially when he comes out with the big guns!!! God, I loved that part of the story!
Bell is really a strong woman! She can take anything thrown at her and still stand tall!
I loved these characters!
The plot is amazing, staying true to Alessandra Torre writing style in a romantic suspenseful way that you wont forget so soon!
This duet is fantastic and one of my favorite this year!
What a fantastic conclusion to this duet. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I devoured this book within a few hours. I truly enjoyed it as much as I did the first book which is a must read story because the follow-up does not disappoint. I absolutely loved Bell and Dario. This is a story filled with steamy scenes, suspense and twists that readers won’t see coming. I love that this story was unpredictable. It’s the perfect duet for readers looking for a story with a lot of suspense, great characters, steamy scenes and a happy ending.
Amazeballs!!! That’s what comes to mind. I could not wait to read what ends up happening and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. There are so many twists and turns, straight from the get go. There were so many moments while reading that I yelled because of something happening (one time making my cat jump lol), and just couldn’t get enough!! Alessandra writes amazing stories that keep you glued to the pages, and this duet is the perfect example. With the love, chemistry, heart ache, not to mention fun, danger, happiness and fear, Dario and Bell run the labyrinth of it all. And it’s definitely at the top of must read books (and if my must re-read list)!!!
This is the fervently awaited conclusion to EVEN MONEY.
After the cliffhanger in Even Money I couldn’t wait to read what was going to happen next. And the author didn’t disappoint at all.
Double Down was by far more suspenseful than even I could have imagined. Even though the romance took a back seat in the first half to the book, the events that were unraveling in front of me kept me turning pages with anticipation and giddiness. I was witness to a story that had twists and turns on every corner. It kept me guessing and sitting on the edge of my seat throughout the entire length of the book. More than once, I sat gobsmacked and fascinated by the events unfolding in front of me.
This was certainly one fascinating and captivating ending. With her usual signature style, the author wrapped up almost all loose ends with a very satisfying finish.
All I can say is this, if you love a great sexy tale of a forbidden romance, with an amazingly complex and suspenseful plot, you need to give this duet a chance. The author’s superb writing, and storytelling should not to be missed.
