Doryan is the ninth book in the Mated to the Alien series about a race of aliens doomed to die if they don’t meet their fated mates. The series can be read in any order and there are no cliffhangers!

Really great book in the series, well written and lots of action! While Amy was trying to secure a private investigator job with the Detyen Legion, Doryan was trying to stay away from them. They met at a Detyen settlement where a murder was committed. Amy was provided an opportunity to solve the murder of a captain in the Legion. Everyone believed Doryan committed the murder while Amy was sure he hadn’t and she just had to prove him innocent. During that process, she fell hard for him. He says she is his denya. Although Doryan was finally proved innocent, he still had a issue with the Legion due to his soulless status. Hope this is not the end of this series.
The writing is good and engaging
Like with others in the series this is a fast paced and shallow in world/character building
However I still enjoyed the story

This was a good book. I really enjoy the authors books but this was fell a little flat for me. The interaction between characters was great but it was the story line that fell a little flat for me.

Doryan is book 9 in the Mated to the Alien series, and though they are all billed as a standalone, I would feel comfortable saying that you should really read some of the previous books (at least a few back) in order to fully appreciate this one. You CAN read it by itself, but you’ll be doing a lot of picking up clues. Also, you’ll miss the fun of SO MANY CAMEOS from previous books. That was a lot of fun in this book-getting to catch up with all those old characters; including some from the Detyen Warrior series! This book honestly felt like a series crossover, and it really was (don’t have to read any of the Warrior series as everything from that is clearly explained, but it was fun).
This is our first real Soulless encounter in the series, and I really enjoyed how it went. Doryan and Manda were rescued by Braxtyn NaZade and his mate in the last book and brought home to Earth. Doryan is a Soulless, but his years in captivity have changed him and he has found, at the very least a desire to live, which has him delaying returning to the legion. The NaZade family pretty much adopts the pair and that dynamic is very sweet-ESPECIALLY how accepting and protective they are over Doryan knowing he’s a Soulless.
The relationship between Amy and Doryan follows a similar path to any of the previous Soulless books if you’ve read them, and that involves a lot of confusion and a good bit of pain, but with that saving grace touch of hope. Amy is pretty awesome and mostly well rounded person, which was great for Doryan, honestly. They made a very sweet couple.
The promise of Deke’s future book has me waiting but also feeling so sad for him! Poor guy.
If you like your mate’s destined, a little bit of a who-done-it mystery, some action, a good dose of steam, and some rather touching family moments, I think you’ll enjoy this book.
A relationship fraught with difficulties!

Amy was visiting the new Detyen settlement when she first met Doryan. She was hoping that should meet some Detyens in need of a Private Investigator since the business was slow and they had bills to pay. Instead, she met a male Detyen who stirred in her a yearning she had not felt for a long time. Doryan was a “Soulless,” since undergoing a process that stripped him of his emotions when he turned thirty, prolonging his life. He had not dared to hope that Amy was his Denya, but he now had feelings he could not deny. With two deaths to investigate and bigotry rife, the relationship between Doryan and his mate Amy was fraught with difficulties.

There is just something about these Detyen warriors I just love. Doryan is one of the soulless. He was found as a prisoner in the previous book. Like all soulless, he has no feelings. Amy is a human and works as a PI. Looking to make some contacts and hope some jobs with the warriors, she travels to a new resort that is supposed to support them. But when a murder happens she may be the only one that can solve it. But the main suspect happens to be a gorgeous golden Detyen. And what she feels towards him may allow a killer to go free.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this book and the whole series to anyone interested in science fiction stories with aliens.

At last!
This is a well written murder mystery, with a sc-fi alien twist. Amy and Doryan face danger, opposition on all sides, intense attraction, suspense, mystery and intrigue before they have a chance at a HEA! An exciting read!
An intriguing sci-fi romance with a solid storyline. I liked how the story flowed. The 9th book in the series and just a good as the other 8. A very hot alien as an added bonus.

Amy is short on cash with her detective agency. She and her partner opt to do bounty hunter work on the side. Detyens are starting to arrive with their Denyas. Doryanis a soulless. He follows the rules without emotion or rule breaking. He has returned from being held captive. He is still scared and need to be evaluated for reintegration or retirement from the legion. Problem? He is nearing 30. He has the unknown feeling of his Denya close by. He is one of the 3 persons standing over a dead lieutenant. He is one os the suspects. So no there’s no problem. Amy my put on her police detective persona on to find the killer before other things get dangerous… regardless is she has pull toward him or not. Love a mystery where the girl might get the guy.

While on earth as a Soulless Detyen, Doryan is a member of a group others find suspicious, that’s part of a species that humans find suspicious. And initial evidence strongly suggests he’s committed murder – more suspicion! It’s a mix of convenience and inconvenience that his Fated Mate just happens to be in the area and is a detective trying to land a contract with the Legion.
Amy is open to the idea of Fated Mates, and for more that the fact that it helps her justify her biases during an investigation. She is curious to know more about the new culture that now shares her planet. She’s had enough life experiences that she isn’t alarmed by the idea of a Fated Mate; she’s had a chance to live and get the necessary experience of other relationships as she grew into her own person.
The murder mystery plot was a delight to read, and gave enough background to leave the reader certain of the guilty party – if only there were evidence to support this. As engaging as the murder mystery was, the ending was rather realistic in that one doesn’t always get to follow the details once something falls out of their jurisdiction.

This is a good addition to the series about Detyen warriors. Doryan is a “soulless” warrior who knows it is time for him to be retired. He is getting ready to meet with his superior for that determination. It is all okay until he sees Amy. She awakens something in him. Amy is a retired cop, now PI looking for new clients and definitely not the usual female in most romance stories. Not only is she intelligent and strong, she is older than the expected heroine. There is a “bad guy” who just won’t go away and some good action scenes with a murder mystery. The sex is tasteful and frequent.

Of the Fated Mate Series books that I’ve read this one has more of a storyline and no evil doctor. Doryan is one of the soulless and he is accused of murdering his commanding officer. Amy who is a private investigator is the only semi-law enforcement available when the event occurs. Her gut tells her Doryan is innocent, proving it with an overzealous second in command officer who is totally convinced no matter what the evidence says that Doryan is guilty is going to take some fast talking and foot work.
This is an insta-lust/love thing. Doryan is trying to understand what is happening to him physically every time he is near Amy. While Amy is trying to understand how her body has taken over her normally logical mind.
There is some intrigue, danger and appearances of the characters from some of the past books. One of the side characters is Manda, a 16y/o who was rescued when Doryan was and they have a bond, he was her protector when she was being held as a slave. The author has her being quasi paired with another Deyten that has to wait till she is of legal age to pursue their mating bond. The author seems to have a hard time figuring out if to treat her like a 5y/o or like a soon to be adult.
Yes there are some issues with the storyline, but it’s not so bad that you lose the momentum of the story. Compared to some of the other stories in this series this one has some meat to it and thankfully we aren’t subjected to them doing the; I like you, now I’m going to leave you, but I really want to stay…but I must go thing.

This is the story of Amy and Doryan. She is investigating a murder and all signs point to Doryan as the guilty party. Only she doesn’t think he did it. Doryan gave away his soul to live longer so he lives in an emotionless state of being. Until he meets Amy, suddenly he starts to feel things again. Surprisingly he has found he mate. Now what will happen? I enjoyed the suspense, action, mystery, and romance in this story. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really liked Doryan’s story. It was fun to watch him become more real and find his mate. I loved the story and how he meets her. The mystery was fun and Amy was a hoot. I loved seeing characters from others books in the series and the setup to what is coming next in the series made me laugh. I was entertained with the plot and characters. And it was just steamy enough not to distract from the story. A fun quick read.
Well worth reading!
Book nine in the Mated to the Alien series a well written story with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. Amy and Doryan’s story has suspense, drama, danger, murder, villains, a soulless who finds his Mate, and gets his feelings back. I hope there is going to be more in this series to come. I would recommend this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely love this series about the Detyen warriors. As a Detyen nears his 30th birthday, he must find his Denya (mate) or he will die. There is an option to become soulless, extending their lives in a sort of emotionless existence where they carry out assignments for the Legion until they are “retired” (disposed of). Doryan, is one of those who gave away his soul to live longer.
When Doryan meets private investigator, Amy, who is trying to solve a murder, he notices a strange reaction. Whenever he is around Amy, feelings arise which are not supposed to be possible for the soulless! Apparently Amy is his Denya, his unexpected second chance to have a mate and a normal life again! But more murders occur and the Amy is put in danger. The signs point to Doryan as the killer, but Amy knows he is not. Can they find the real killer in time? Can Doryan protect his mate? Or will they lose their chance to find their HEA forever?
This book was really good. It was fast-paced, exciting, and full of suspense. The main characters were both likable, and finding out they were mates when it should be too late for that gave them a reason to fight for their future. Grab your copy and see how this story resolves!
This Book 9 in the Mated to the Alien Series is an exceptionally-written story with amazing characters that are strong, powerful and arrogant. These characters are well crafted and you feel as if you know them and feel their emotions. This story has action, adventure, twists, turns, chemistry and love. This is a must read story in a great series by an amazing Author
