Doppelbanger; A person who bangs someone solely because they look similar to another person they want to bang. At thirty-five, Gina Bourque is still playing the field. If he’s single, in his early twenties with dark hair and brooding eyes, there’s a damn good chance you’ll find him in her little black book. Jeffrey Ryan never imagined that at nearly forty he’d find himself widowed and a single … widowed and a single dad. But here he is—stumbling through this thing called life with two impressionable daughters watching his every move.
When Gina and Jeffrey meet while cruising the Caribbean, sparks fly and not in a good way. He’s too old. Too blond. Too stiff. Yet she’s still drawn to him like a moth to a flame. She’s too vulgar. Too sassy. Too wild. But she ignites something inside of him he can’t ignore.
We all know what happens when you play with fire. . . someone’s bound to get burned.

I laughed, I cried, I laughed again, I cried again… I absolutely fell in LOVE with Gina “Tink” and Jeffrey “CEO” and I couldn’t stop rooting for them to be together! Jeff is a total alpha HUNK getting over the loss of his wife, and Gina is a sexy, sassy crazy person I want to hang out with all the time, who has convinced herself she doesn’t need a HEA b/c she can’t have children… Speaking of children, Jeff’s two daughters are absolutely the icing on the cake. I loved them! and I loved their relationship with Gina…
It’s just a superfun, super HOT book! The sexytimes were purrrrfect!!!!!
It’s the perfect, feel-good, beach read–or any time read, really. Definitely a MUST-READ for rom-com fans (or lovers of great romances!).
Heather is the queen of romance, at least in my world. Her books are always witty, steamy, and LOL funny, and Doppelbanger is no different. If anything, Mrs. Orgeron ups the ante with this one. Gina and Jeff are what RomCom dreams are made of.
Heather Orgeron writes romantic comedy like no other! My stomach hurt I laughed so much reading it. Hot and sexy and so funny! The one-liners were epic and the characters were people I’d want to hang out with! I can’t wait to see what she does next.
I found this to be hilarious, sexy and angst between the 2 main characters is perfect! Fantastic read! ~ Tisha
4 1/2 stars!
I have to say, Doppelbanger is literally so funny that you almost miss the sweetest of love stories until it’s right there in your face. Gina and Jeffrey have incredible chemistry and are so sexy together! This book makes me want more from this author as soon as I can get my hands on it!! ~April
5 out of 5 stars
This book is as hilarious as it is sweet as it is emotionally charged!
Ms. Orgeron does an absolutely incredible job of creating a story that pulled me in from the very beginning – of course, knowing of the craziness from Boomerangers helped some, but I still would have greatly enjoyed this story without having read that first!
Gina is happy with her life of random hook ups with younger men because she isn’t looking for anything serious. Jeff is a widower who just wants to be the best dad he can be to his daughters and isn’t interested in exploring anything outside of sex either. When a cruise ship brings them and their families together, they get way more than they bargained for.
I loved this story from the first page to the last. I laughed out loud so many times I thought I would disturb my neighbors – and I live 3 miles from my closest neighbor! I cried some real tears a couple of times when both Gina and Jeff were going through some tough times. And I fell in love with the kids (the boys again and the girls for the first time) in a matter of a few words between them.
This story also has the best, most epic epilogues EVER! They were both exactly what I would have wanted to see!! I so can’t wait for more books from this author. She is an automatic one-clicker for me!!!
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
Omg this book will make anyone jealous!! I’m so beyond wanting a man like Jeffrey I don’t even know what to do!! Be prepared once you start reading this book you will NOT be able to put it down!! I can not wait to start Boomerangers now!!!!
This book is for anyone who has a sense of humor and isn’t afraid of a tongue in cheek scenarios. I laughed one minute and teared up the next. Loved Mr CEO and his two daughters, so much love and realness in their relationship with each other. Tink OMG I wanna hang out woman. Savage was just the best little dude. This book will definitely give you all the feels.
Dopplebanger is a funny touching story with a sassy, sexy heroine, Gina that enjoys younger men, and a sexy widower, Jeffery, that is struggling to raise his two daughters after the death of his wife. Add an hilarious young boy, Savage, and his twin, teenage brothers, whom you meet in an earlier book, Boomerangers, and you have a story that will make you laugh out loud, cry, and hold your breath waiting on their HEA. I love Heather’s books. A must read!
This was my first book by Heather and I know I might have started backwards and should have read boomerangers first but that’s ok because I’m so gonna go back and read it I don’t care if I know some of what happens!! So if you haven’t read either don’t do like I did!! But this book had me in stitches for the most part. I mean anytime you have kids in a book and have some real life experience to go from you know that it’s going to be funny!! Because you really can’t make some of the stuff up that comes out of the mouths of babes. And Heather played in that part so perfectly that I thought I was listening to something my kids would say. But then we get to the adults Gina and Jeff. I absolutely love Gina, she is so funny and such a ball of energy and fire. Jeff is just trying to be a good father to his girls. But he’s lost without their mom to help and is afraid so he’s a little overprotective. They are total opposites and usually go for other types. But are like magnets and are drawn together. The chemistry heats up the bedroom, but not so much outside. But the more time they spend together the more they find they like each other. But will past ghost get in the way? Find out when you read this fantastic book!! I highly recommend it!!
You know a book is great when it makes you ‘feel’. I was very uncomfortable and feeling a little prudish about how promiscuous Gina was at the start of the book. I don’t think we see that very often in a book about a woman. We read all the time about guys being players and this is quite a reversal on that role.
Gina makes no apology about liking sex with men with certain characteristics. The one absolute rule she has is one night only so no chance of feeling being developed. The more I read along the more I got it. I’m not too certain I wouldn’t have gone through life the same way if I had been given the same circumstance.
She’s bold, a bit bold (ok a lot bold!), brassy and funny. She’s the type of girl your parents would be uncomfortable with you hanging out with. But if she loves you and considers you family you won’t get a better friend or family member. She’s there for you through thick and thin. Though sometimes she might be a bad influence on your kids. My twin sister is the same way. She taught all my kids their first curse words and the saying ‘bite me’.
While Spencer, her best friend recovers from having a baby Gina takes her kids on a family oriented cruise of the Caribbean. While on the cruise she meets Jeffrey (Jeff) a widowed single dad. These two are so opposite from the beginning that you just now they are going to be great together!
I think Jeff is an admirable man. Not only is he successful business man he is raising his daughters in the best way he can to honor his wife.
There is a lot of humor in this book and a lot of kids saying the right things at inappropriate times. I laughed out loud so many times that I had tears rolling down my face. I also had tears rolling down my face because of how cruel Jeff was to Gina when he was consumed by guilt. I felt devastated for her. Though I was really glad she didn’t fall back into her old ways.
Jeff has to realize that it’s ok to find love twice in his lifetime.
I’m going to start this review with a warning. Do not start this at midnight with the intention of just reading one chapter. I attempted to do that and I failed miserably. I didn’t put it down once and read it in one sitting.
This book was everything I needed. It was hot and sexy, laugh out loud funny with some embarrassing cringe worthy moments and characters that will make you love them. If you’ve already read Boomerangers then you’ve already met the one and only Savage (if you haven’t read it please do. It’s brilliant). In Doppelbangers it seems like young Savage has met his match and I dare anyone to not fall in love with Savage and his potty mouth and his adorable new friend.
I loved this book. I can’t express just how much. It’s been a while since I’ve wanted to stay up all night reading and it’s definitely worth the tiredness that I’m feeling today. If you’re looking for a sexy but sweet, funny but also emotional at times romance with absolutely fantastic characters, you need to read this book.
An absolutely phenomenal read that evoked every emotion. I laughed so hard I had tears coming down my face, then I had real tears.
A Hilariously funny and emotional story of learning to live and love again after a great loss.
Gina is in her thirties, beautiful, successful and unfiltered. I adored her. She’s a sex therapist, so there are few boundaries with her. She’s all about one night stands with young college guys; no strings, no emotions.
Gina takes a cruise with her godsons, after her bff has just given birth, to help her out. One of the boys gets caught hooking up and as a result Gina meets Jeffrey; single dad, CEO, grieving widower of two girls and HOT!
So now five crazy kids on a cruise, two single adults…let the fun begin.
This story was definitely a favorite that I will be recommending to anyone who will listen. Every character in this story was great. The kids brought so much comic relief. Not to mention the unfortunate and hysterically funny situations Jeffrey and Gina got themselves into. But it was also poignant, sad, sweet and sexy! This story had everything that makes a book memorable. I absolutely loved it! This is a MUST read!
Doppelbanger is everything I wanted in a great romcom and so much more. I cried from laughter and from tears with this one, and was DYING at some of the predicaments Gina finds herself in! Heather M. Orgeron is a chameleon author and an immediate one-click.
4.5 Laugh Out Loud Stars!!!
One thing I can count on while reading a book from Heather M. Orgeron is, real life laugh out loud moments written perfectly into a story! Doppelbanger is no exception!!
Gina aka Tink is a 35-year-old sex therapist who has no desire to settle down and marry. The white picket fence with 2.5 kids and a husband is not what she sees in her future.
Known as a cougar, she plays the field with much younger men. One and done is her way of life. In fact, it’s worked for her all these years. Why change what’s worked?
Jeffrey aka The CEO is muddling through life with his 2 daughters. After losing his wife several years ago, he wants to be the father his wife would have been proud of.
This book is a page turner! Make sure you’ve cleared off time to sit and read the entire thing. Because once you start, you can’t stop and pick up later. Doppelbanger is a quick paced romance comedy that everyone can relate to!

Pure perfection!!
Just added it to my top reads of 2018!!!
This book is exactly what you need to bring a smile on your face and lightness to your soul. It was honestly just pure joy to read!!
Flawless writing, the one liners and how the scenes unfolded was just pitch perfect!
I was hooked from beginning to end with this fun, sexy and snort, cackle out loud funny read.
The story of Gina and Jeffrey is truly unique. A chance encounter during a Caribbean Cruise can mean sun, fun and kinky hookups. Theirs took some unexpected twists.
The roles are reversed in this passionate, steamy and heartfelt story. Gina is a woman who knows what she wants and doesn’t want, and isn’t the least bit afraid of going after it. Meeting Jeff was not in her plans but then again…their connection was undeniable. He’s a single dad with lots of responsibility raising 2 girls, until he meets Gina!
When these 2 meet their banter sexy, brassy and hilarious. The only liners, their back and forth banter and chemistry was off the charts funny sharp and on point. Except behind the banter something else was developing.
Full of unexpected twists and surprises this delightful romance is more than opposites attracting.
It’s a story of second chances.
How they got there you’ll have to read and find out.
Oh my word this book was so funny ! I absolutely loved Gina “Tink” and Jeff “CEO” . Auntie Gina takes the children on a cruise . Jeff a widower has decided a family vacation is in order ….when these two meet oh boy do the sparks fly and not in a good way…..at first .
Jeff cannot believe how sassy and straight forward Gina is. It certainly knocks him off his axis !
Gina does not do men her own age at 35 she is looking for fun and hook ups but this Jeff is giving her all kinds of tingly feels and it is making her irritated . He is so stuffy and stiff …a CEO that’s how he introduces himself . Well she is not intimidated ! The children , the crazy situations , the drama and how yes the sexiness ! Loved it !!

Holy Moly is Gina the bestest.
If that opening paragraph doesn’t do it for you, then I don’t know what you are looking for in a book.
This was a laugh out loud, fun, sexy, read.
If Jeffery’s first POV don’t bring tears to your eyes, I’m not sure I can be friends with you. (just kidding I know everyone enjoys different things, my tears were most likely b/c I was heading into surgery the day I started reading this.)
Ok so by the end of chapter 3 I was snort laughing and my Mr. wanted to know what was funny, so I asked him if he wanted me to read out loud to him. He did. So I did. He was laughing right along with me. (no tears for him though, men.)
Can I say reading sexy times out loud to your husband of 19 yrs is a bit awkward. It is. It really is.
Ok back to the story. My only real complaint is that Gina never gave growing a family any other way then biological. That hurt my heart.
Spencer’s kids are still amazing. Lake and Landon, Savage aka Kyle, and the twin girls. (though they are babies and we don’t get to know them). Jeffery’s girls are just as amazing. I LOVE Willow.
Bottom line, you will laugh, you will cry, you will get wrapped up in this book world.
Doppelbanger is one of the funniest romantic comedies I have read in a while. Heather M. Orgeron had me in stitches the entire time I was reading the book!
Let me begin with Gina…this woman owns the room when she walks in it! She is tiny, hence the nickname, Tink, Jeffrey gives her. Her personality IS GIANT!!!! She is in her mid-thirties, and she is still enjoying the single life. She has a type, usually 20-something and most definitely not into commitment! When she meets Jeffrey on a cruise she is taking with her godsons, he is the complete opposite of who she is normally attracted to. He is a CEO of a successful company, has two daughters, and is way too serious for her. Yet, the sparks fly between them.
Jeffrey is successful and a wonderful father. His daughters are his world. When he finds his older daughter kissing one of Gina’s godsons, he is appalled. He is even more appalled when he finds Gina and tells her what he saw. Instead of being upset, she is congratulating him on his first kiss. He finds her crass and over-the-top. Yet, he has never met a woman like her, and he is desperately attracted to her. As they spend more time together, the chemistry and lust grow. The two agree on a no-strings fling while on vacation. Those agreements work so well, don’t they? As you might guess, this couple can’t forget one another, but can they take a leap of faith and find their HEA? It is quite a journey they took me on, but I relished every single moment of it!
If you are a reader who enjoys slapstick comedy but also enjoy some steam and a really SWEET romance, you will not be disappointed in this book! I LOVED the epilogues…yes, you get two! Orgeron knows how to expertly combine romance, sex, comedy, and fantastic characters that make this one of my favorite romantic reads of the year!!!
***READ AND REVIEWED FOR DEVILISHLY DELICIOUS BOOK REVIEWS***
Doppelbanger is the first book I’ve read from Heather Orgeron and I swear to you, I’ve not laughed this hard in a long time!
Gina is a 30-something sex therapist who is not looking for anything more than sex. No names, no dates, not a thing…just sex, especially with younger men. A husband and kids are just not what she sees in her future.
Jeffrey, a widower with two daughters, is trying desperately to be the best dad he can be to his two girls. He desperately misses his wife and is just trying to hold it all together.
I really enjoyed this book! There’s was a TON of laughter, hot sex, hilarious kids, and some really feel good moments. The banter between Jeff and Gina was perfect. I enjoyed every moment of the journey together and how they balance each other out. Every single person in this story brought so much to the table…but I really loved the SAVAGE!!!
Doppelbanger is hands down a must read book! This was my first but definitely not my last book from Heather Orgeron!!
Heather has catapulted her way to the top of my must read list. Her blend of romance and humor is top shelf. It is like she reached in to my life and pulled conversations out of it.
I am “that” Aunt, much like Gina. The one that borrows the kids and then inadvertently teaches them naughty things. I could totally relate and found myself legit laughing out loud at a few parts.
On top of the real life humor, is the romance. Not the sticky sweet, cookie cutter kind. The kind that is messy. The kind that involves kids, death, jobs, and distance. It is never easy, but it is always fun to follow a journey of one of Heathers characters.
You will laugh, swoon and relate to something (or everything) in this book.
This can very much be read as a standalone, but if you haven’t read Boomerangers, please remedy that as soon as possible.
