Lorna “Doom” Honeywell knew there would be days like this, but she was just doing what she did best, stomping through life in her combat boots with that dark attitude, one sarcastic comment and inappropriate snicker at a time.
Until him, that is.
She doesn’t want him, she tells herself. She’s never asked for anything from him. Yet the bear offers her all she could ever want and more, if only … more, if only she’s willing to take that leap, and play by his rules.
Lor never much liked rules.
And that wolf friend of his, that guy had it out for her, she doesn’t care how he looks at her when he thinks she’s not looking.
When Doom’s life comes to a head and she is forced to accept some harsh truths about herself, as well as make some decisions, she realizes her day has finally come.

Great story, Loved Lor and her Winnie and Deputy Dog, their happy was hard fought and long in coming.
Lorna Louise Henrieta Doulm-Honeywell, Lor to her family and Doom to her friends, is a train wreak.
Her sarcastic and mean personality is to protect her soft heart and easily bruised feelings. When she moves out on her own, she meets Roger Bunhe, a bear shifter who shares her quirky sense of humor, and has a lazy and easy personality. He is her mate. Lor is not so sure. For the first time in her life her beast has made herself know and she likes Roger.
Roger works hard to give Lor time. He tries not to be pushy and overwhelm her, months together and he does not seem to be getting any where with her. He starts to feel like her dirty secret. Something in side of Lor just won’t let her accept all that Roger wants to give. A big fight and their relationship falls apart. Lor and her beast are devastated.
At the Halpert New Years party, Lor is trying to move forward without Roger. For the second time in her life her beast takes note of the wolf shifter she has a quickie in the closet with. Just for a moment she had the same feeling she had with Roger, then he was gone. Roger is there and they try again.
Lor tries to be the mate she feels Roger deserves, even if she can’t admit out loud she is his, she does love him. She feels broken, like he isn’t enough, like something is missing. Their relationship continues to be strained. She still excludes her from her family and friends. Things get worse when Roger need her to accept her best friend, who is a brother to him, and his Alpha. Theo Gunduven, wolf shifter and local deputy sheriff. Theo and Lor mix like oil and water. it take a while and a lot of patience from Roger before they figure out what they really are to each other and that it take all three of them to be whole.
The train wreck that is Lor makes the first 75% of her story oppressive, with a few laugh out loud moments. While you really empathize and feel for Lor and understand, it wears on you.
I really felt for Roger, he took responsibility for things that were all on Lor. How may times can she keep denying who he is and treating him like a dirty secret before he is allowed to step back and protect himself.
Theo didn’t make it easy for Roger either. Theo was part protecting his brother and beta and part fear of losing him to Lor.
The last 25%, when Roger really starts forcing the issue with Lor and Theo, makes it all worth while. It is rough and hard at times but they are so perfect together when they finally let go. They have some great family and friends. Rance and Jameson in the deliver room with Lor is worth the read just for that. Loved Rance he quietly had Lor’s back and Theo’s too. Really hoping Rance gets a story next or the triplets. I can see them sharing a strong alpha women to keep them in line. Wendy and Jett and maybe even Minni too.
Great series looking forward to the next book.
