Amy Young runs The Purple PolkaDot bakery like a well-oiled machine and is not about to let anything or anyone stand in the way of her success—especially not the smug, oh-so-panty-dropping Tanner ‘Moose’ Mason. He thought she would succumb to his smooth Cajun charms at a snap of his delicious, enticing fingers, but Amy refuses to be another cupcake or his specialty for the day. Tanner Mason has … Mason has met his match in Amy Young. After one night of ecstasy, he craves the beautiful albeit bashful pastry chef even more than her mouth-watering chocolate delicacies. He tasted the sugary sweetness she hides from others and won’t settle until Amy faces the fact that she belongs with him.
A well-orchestrated encounter arranged by their friends knocks them out of the safe rut they’ve both been stuck in. Finally, Moose has the chance he’s been waiting for and starts his relentless pursuit. Anything goes. He’s on a mission to once again have Amy in his arms, and this good ‘Ol’ Cajun Boy’ will stop at nothing to make her his own.

Donut Be Shy by F.G. Adams is a novella in her Men of Lakeview series AND it has been written for the Donut Collection (indeed). I have read every single book and novella in the series as I got hooked on it from the first book on! It goes a bit weird (with the order) but never mind as it is so good that you do not care and simply crave for the next one! The only ‘complaint’ I have is that I wish it had been a full length novel as I would have liked more but I always want more….
So Donut Be Shy is gives us Amy Young and Tanner “Moose” Mason’s story! They both are part of the Lakeview gang – Tanner is part of the Trident Security and brother in arms to all the guys that are married to the Blackwood women! I mean they meet on the beach of Keagan and Jo’s beach house (the ones who have read the series know what I mean!)!
It is the story of how lack of communication can really mess up a potential relationship and how our insecurities (women, listen up!!) can hinder us to find love! It is also a story of friendship and encouragement and persistence and hope! And of course, let’s not forget about the delicious desserts – I wish I could have a bakery…yeah…make yourself a cup of tea and pick up a pastry and enjoy couple of hours with Amy and Tanner and I promise you, you will want to read the other stories in the Lakeview series as well!

I really liked this quick read! Amy owns a bakery and after their one night of fun, Amy runs after mishearing a phone call. Tanner, aka Moose, has been visiting her bakery every day trying to get a rise out of Amy and to figure out why she bolted.
Can they finally get to the bottom of what she heard or will they deny their feelings forever?
Donut be Shy by F.G. Adams a five-star read that is sweet enough to eat. This is a stand-alone read in the Men of Lakeview series and I loved it. I wish I was queuing up outside the Purple PolkaDot Bakery, I would love to taste the tasty morsels that Amy Young produces hopefully I would even get a nibble of a Moose in his natural hunting grounds while he’s looking for donuts. This was a sweet read, with enough heat to keep it interesting, but not hot enough that it burned the entire story and oh what a story, the will they won’t they will keep you gripped. As we all know one nibble of something that sets your mouth alight is never enough!!

This short little gem fell right into the normal “awesome” category for this author, I don’t think it matters what she writes I would devour it.
I love the characters in this story and feel like I have missed some of their stories and will definitely be looking into that. This was fun to read and the dialogue between these characters was lol funny most of the time.
The moral of this story is definitely to ask and not assume because you will be wasting a lot of time if you assume wrong.
I loved it, and anything by this author is simply a must read!!
Donut Be Shy features Amy and Moose who had a night neither could forget it’s 84 pages of pure deliciousness. This is a quick and breezy novel that would be a dream come true – sitting at a cafe every day and having a new confection put in front of me… Pure Heaven 🙂 But enough about me…
A quick, well plotted novella that was a pleasure to read.

I loved this book and these characters! This is such a “Sweet” story! We have met Tanner “Moose” Mason before from the Lakeview Series. He is a sweet Cajun hunk! I enjoyed the bantering back and forth over the donut between Tanner and Amy! Reading about so much deliciousness made me want to eat a donut from the Purple PolkaDot. Amy is so nice and sweet. Even though she is not backing down on the outside. Inside she is shaking like a leaf over Tanners actions. She doesn’t understand why he keeps coming to the store. It was nice seeing all the gang again. And when Tanner mention Lukas telling him how to get a girl…I cracked up laughing. He is the expert NOW. Hahahaha!
Even though it’s a short book. There is much laughter, love and sexiness in this story. I stumbled across this one and didn’t realize there were 12 more. I will check them out!
I loved the dedication! So sweet!
Donut Be Shy by F.G. Adams is a fun, flirty romance. I thought the title was intriguing and cute and was pleasantly surprised to find that I also have enjoyed other books by the author. Her Men of Lakeview series has been a getaway from life series that I have been enjoying off and on. This is the story of Amy and Tanner. The two characters have great chemistry but have a bit of a miscommunication problem. The problem is relatable and the two banter back and forth in a playful manner. This can be read as a standalone but does have appearances of characters from other books. I really like Amy and Tanner aka Moose. The book is a quick, fun read to get away from everyday life. I will be on the lookout for more from F.G. Adams in the future.
Donut Be Shy (Men of Lakeview) by F.G. Adams was a short and sweet read that left me all gushy on the insides.
This was my first read my this author, and I must say, I am impressed. The writing was easy to follow, the pace had a nice flow. The time jumps from past to present were done seamlessly and tied the whole story together and drew you in that much more. I will say that because this was a very short read, towards the end it was a tad rushed and for me took a little away from the magic and the romantic development between our MC’s.
Overall, this book is perfect for a that quick fix before bed, or during transit. Sure it could use a bit more meat, but the fact that the author put together a well rounded, feels invoking book, with a page count of less then 100, is truly a staple of their talent, and ability to tell not only a good story, but a phenomenal experience. So take my high recommendation that this book is a must read, and a needed book to add to your collection.
Happy Reading

Donut be shy: Men of Lakeview is a short story from author F.G Adams as part of a donut day collaboration with various other standalone short stories!
This is a brilliant quick read that hits the spot. It’s sexy, sweet & funny. Our two main characters Amy and Tanner meet unexpectedly and it sparks something in both of them that continues to run deep even when Amy continues to reject all advances from Tanner even though, she gets butterflies and her heart pounds whenever he comes around her bakery. During this regular occurrence, before Tanner goes to work, they have a brilliant banter between each other and Amy loves to torment him by giving him everything else he doesn’t ask for! But through all this, the sparks that fly between these two is undeniable and I love how forward and go-getting Tanner is. He is ready to go after what he wants in his life and that’s Amy. With undeniable chemistry and passion for each other, I really do think these two will go far.
I would love to read more of the secondary characters stories and also a more in-depth story to what happens with Amy & Tanner’s relationship after this read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and will continue to look out for more of F.G Adams books because she continues not to disappoint.
Donut Be Shy is Moose aka Tanner and Amy’s story and its oh so delicious. This is a cute fun loving story and what better way to celebrate second chances then some sugary goodness. Happy Reading!!!
This was a delicious quick read. Tanner and Amy had a hot night together a while ago. Tanner is ready for more. Amy has gone out of her way to tell him it isn’t in the cards for them. Can a misunderstanding be fixed? Can these two make sweet treats together? A great short story.
This was the hottest and cutest novella I have probably read in a while!! And isn’t that the most craziest things to describe a book…lol!!! But that’s the only way I can describe this book. It’s definitely worth a read and I’m gonna have to pick up the other books in this Donut Sweet Stories Set. And I would recommend this one.

Super quick fun read. As today is national donut day. We get a chance to read a short story about a mans love for chocolate and a woman. Moose is persistent when it comes to getting what he wants. That happens to be a chocolate donut and Amy the bakery owner. Amy doesn’t trust Tanner(moose) after their on night stand because of a conversation she overheard. That’s one thing I don’t like about people they jump to conclusions and never seek out the answer. I enjoyed it for what it was.
Donut Be Shy, Men of Lakeview written by F.G. Adams. Let’s face it what’s not to love about a story titled Donut be Shy. The story itself is a fairly short story, but that doesn’t take away from the awesomeness at all. The characters are well written and entertaining especially when they are pushing each other’s buttons. Amy is quiet and reserved to her friends but when she has a chance encounter with Tanner all bets are off. And he starts showing up at her bakery Every. Single. Day.. Will his persistence work or will their friends have to Intervene when the realize Amy is being more than stubborn.
Reading as Amy learns about herself and Tanner is interesting, she’s been fighting the attraction for so long. The story is a quick read but enjoyable with some funny and steamy scenes added.
Donut Be Shy (Men of Lakeview by F.G. Adams is such a treat. I have never read anything by this author before and boy was I missing out. This book was perfect for me since my mom is a pastry chef. I loved everything about this short and sweet story.
Amy and Tanner are the cutest couple and it took a lot for Tanner to get Amy’s attention, even after a one-night stand. Tanner’s perusal of Amy starts with him coming into her bakery everyday and ordering a chocolate doughnut, but Amy gives him everything but what he ordered. Can Amy and Tanner finally get the right recipe for love?
I think its great when authors use food to help tell a story or when the female lead owns a bakery or something quaint. The chemistry Amy and Tanner had made the conversations between them so fun! F.G. Adams really knows how to write engaging characters and even the secondary characters made this story great. This book was a great way to start off my summer reading list.

This was a sweet yet steamy quick read. Amy and Tanner were just too adorable. This a book that you wish was longer because you get sucked right into the story so much you don’t want it to end. One of my favorite things is the way Tanner sees how beautiful Amy is, but more importantly makes her feel it.
I loved this sweet romance story that has more then just donuts going on. This is a short short story that is fast reading that made me feel like I was right there with them. The characters are lovable and relatable. I loved the Amy’s character. She denied having feelings for Tanner and he was determined to prove her otherwise. Tanner’s character was sweet which made their chemistry together even sweeter. I highly suggest this book, it will show you how sweet love can be.

This might have been a short read but I thought it was brilliant! I have read quite a few books by this author now and I love her versatility as an author. Donut be Shy was a lovely read, it had great characters and I was sad when it ended – I would have loved it to be longer so I could read more of Amy and Tanner.
I loved Amy! I thought she was a great female lead, she made me laugh a few times especially with her ways of trying to make Tanner stop coming into her bakery every day. I love the connection between the two and they definitely had a great chemistry. I liked that the author used different point of view chapters which visited how the two characters had met. I felt like I was able to connect with them both easily. I loved Tanner! His pursuit of Amy was really sweet and it was obvious that he really liked her! He was very persistent! There were some great secondary characters too!
A great 5 star read which I highly recommend.

The story Donut Be Shy (Men of Lakeview) by F.G. Adams is a romance book that I loved reading. It is a novella that had me wanting the main characters to find happiness together and also hungry for doughnuts! I loved reading about Amy and Tanner. Amy is a woman who runs a successful bakery and after one night finds herself falling for Tanner. As you read their story you know that they have a connection/attraction to each other. There is electricity in the air and sparks fly when these two are together. Amy, however, is keeping Tanner at arms-length. Why? Tanner is determined that he will make Amy his. Can he get Amy to stop pushing him away? This story has some steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. The interactions between Amy and Tanner brought a smile to my face. I was able to read the book in one sitting and then found myself wanting to read more about this couple. Don’t miss out this wonderful story with amazing characters.
GREAT STORY!!! Donut Be Shy is a fun, quick read that you’re sure to enjoy. Tanner and Amy spend one hot, romantic night together. But when Amy overhears him on the phone the next morning, she grabs her things and leaves. Determined to get her back in his arms, Tanner visits her bakery every day. For a year, a battle of wills over sweet treats ensues. But does Tanner have what it takes to win her back? Or will Amy finally shut him down for good? There’s great chemistry between these two. You can’t help but root for Tanner as he pursues the woman he knows he’s meant to be with. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I know you will too.
