“I’m gone!” That’s all my now ex-wife said as she packed her stuff and stormed out of our house on my fortieth birthday. It was a total kick in the teeth. Right? I thought my life was completely over before it could really get started. Turns out gone wasn’t a bad thing. Skye did me a favor. She made it possible for me to find my true calling in life – donuts. That cute little pastry chef was just …

Going from being married and doing the job you went to school for to find out your wife decides to leave you for someone else. I don’t know if I could handle it the way jack did if I were in his shoes but he managed to find Kelly and things fall in to place for these two. Also loved how Marty, Maverick, Dane, and Fallon as well as Mountain Breath Marty’s bar were tied in.
This story made me LITERALLY laugh out loud! It also really appealed to me, because I am a part of the 40-ish group and know how starting all over at that age can be. The characters were very relatable. Well done, Mazzola!.
Short fun read!
I loved the beginning of this book! The way Jack’s wife leaves him was hilarious even though it was sad. Jack is far better off without a woman like her. Fast forward to a year later, and a newly divorced Jack is ready to make some changes. He is bored with his job and decides to start fresh with a new career. He enrolls in baking classes to start off his new career and there, he sees his 1 night hookup (Kelly) he can’t forget. She is teaching the class. Unfortunately, Jack burns his donuts, but he does get to repeat his hookup with Kelly. And the book quickly closes with the two together.
I felt the end was abrupt and the way Kelly and Jack have a sexual relationship that we are to believe the 2 fell in love and have a HEA. I was hoping for more meaningful interactions between the 2 main characters that was not purely sexual. However, this was a fun read. I’m hoping the follow up will explore relationships more!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This was one enjoyable quick read. Jack’s ex is so nasty that I hope karma pays her a visit. Jack finds himself back in the dating game and boy is he in for a ride. The dating game has changed so much since he was in it. It was fun watching the dating disasters Kelly and Jack find themselves in. This story had me laughing quite often.
Cute, sweet, and with a pinch of humor Donut Be Easy is an adorable quick read that leave you with a giant smile on your face! Kristen Hope Mazzola is a master of fitting a satisfyingly full story into a fast read. Newly divorced Jack is dipping his toes back into the dating pool and Bakery owner Kelly is the sexy and mysterious woman who snuck away. Sweeter than a fresh Krispy Kreme these two are a perfect pair that you can’t help falling in love with!
Kristen Hope Mazzola does again what she does best – packs a satisfying read in a story that can easily be read in one sitting. Donut Be Easy is sweet, funny, and sexy all rolled into a romance with engaging characters with great, can’t keep their hands off each other chemistry. Jack’s been burned by love and is just getting back out there when he meets pastry chef Kelly, who seems to have a bit of trouble committing to more than one night. Turns out donuts can lead to a lot more than sugary goodness as this fun couple finds their happily ever after.
Have you ever been screwed over by an ex-lover? Are you tired of playing dating games with social media and insidious dating apps? The men who show up and look completely opposite from their profile picture? Catfish? Then, this book is for you! Jack is sweet, single, and lost. He bumps into Kelly and sparks fly. But she doesn’t leave a phone number. Join this two on a little doughnut adventure. This sweet rom-com is a quick, fun read. You’ll love how sweet it is! I absolutely love that Mikey Lee is on the cover. He’s the best! Also, I wish this cute story was longer. 🙂
This sweet treat by Kristen Hope Mazzola is 4 stars!
