A little different, highly entertaining
Love this book. The characters in this book are so unpredictable.
Loved the ending.
Fun to read
Loved the characters a orginal twist to wonderful story.
Fun to read and definitely keeps you interested.
I didn’t think I would like this book but since it was free I decided to get it and then I was blown away. Such a romantic and amazing story, I loved the characters. Will be looking for more of Ms. Blythe’s books in the future.
Yesterday I realized I had to hurry to read this book as the second in the series will be released the day after.
I know the storylines were linked, so I didn’t want to have to wait to discover the sisters story.
Both books can be read as standalone as very few is said from the other romance.
So about Hamish and Georgiana, their first encounter was very unusual.
I loved Hamish despite his flaws, he acts upon a sense of duty, thinking he was doing the right thing. Of de two brothers, he was the serious one, the studious one following the path drawn for him even if it was his brother’s job, putting aside his own dreams! So he can’t stand to lose the symbol of their family thanks to his older brother misbehavior.
Georgiana is paying the price of her not enough-good-breeding added to her red head and fiery temper, no suitor nor proposal in her third season, but is happy for her younger sister and unsuspected match with nobody less than a Duke. So when Hamish breaks in her bedroom and mistaken her for her sister, she does not correct him. Not better to find what he is looking for.
She is rather impulsive and should rethink some of her actions before setting them up, but it is from the bottom of her heart, always with her family in mind she acts.
This read is a road trip during which they will learn about another, seing beyond the appearance and getting to know each other.
I adored the witty exchange Georgiana has with her kin, they are funny and open. Her shameless mother is incredible and makes the perfect couple with her scholar of a husband.
My only complain is the misunderstanding between Hamish and Georgiana causing lot of hurt for nothing, but thankful it was very short as they were able to sort it out very quickly.
Callum Montgomery, Duke of Vernon, was eight minutes older than Hamish, but this one always lamented this.
Callum could be the holder of the family title, but it was Hamish who took care of all the finances of the duchy, including, in recent times, he saved all lands from bankruptcy.
Callum had only one responsibility. Only one: to marry Isla McIntyre, since her father had bought the Montgomery’s mortgage and allowed the family to keep the castle IF Callum makes his daughter a duchess.
But it turns out that Callum went to London and was about to get married… with the daughter of a vicar.
An Englishwoman !!!
Determined to stop this madness, Hamish goes to London and commits even more madness.
He invades Miss Butterworth’s room and offers money for her to break the engagement.
He just forgot to check which of the Misses he was talking to.
Georgiana was the oldest of the Butterworths.
Charlotte, young and beautiful, delighted Callum at first sight and they were in love.
When Georgiana meets Hamish in that strange situation, and discovers his plans to break her sister’s happiness, she decides to disrupt Hamish in every possible way.
And while they fought on opposite sides, they both forgot to protect their own hearts.
Fun, romantic and with beautiful HEA.
5 stars
I’d classify this as a cute romp. While not LOL funny, this did have some scenes and dialogs which made me smile as I read. Not wanting to give away the storyline, but Hamish winds up on a roadtrip (about half of the book) which ends unexpectedlly for him. I especially liked Georgiana’s parents, who served as supporting characters both in the story and for Georgianna.
Engagingly beautiful love story!
This was gentle love story that went from fear and loathing to love and a happy ending. Both characters were strong and decisive and made an admirable duo.
Great start to the series.
Cute banter. Fun to read about their love in bloom.
Fun twist on a historic novel. Entertaining and easy read.
Most weddings might be joyous occasions, but Hamish’s older brother Callum is marrying a commoner, never mind that he’s engaged to an earl’s daughter, and they’ll lose their family’s estate if he marries someone else. Hamish will just have to find a way to stop the wedding.

Evidently he’s mistaken her for her newly engaged sister and is trying to bribe her into not marrying his brother. A fun read Hamish & Georgiana are very likeable, they are attracted to each other even though they are at odds over Callum & Charlotte’s wedding. The story flowed well & kept my interest throughout. There were parts that ere improbable but didn’t detract from my enjoyment. I did however feel that the ending was rushed & I was left with unanswered questions about Callum & the estate.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
A enjoyable story. Quite entertaining and sweet. Found the ending to be a bit rushed. But I liked their happy ending.
This is the 1st book in a series that is thoroughly enjoyable. Each book is romantic, funny, unrealistic and fun to read. The plot in the this one involves the escapades of a brother, Hamish, trying to save his twin, Callum, from what he thought to be an unworthy fiance, Charlotte. He mistakes the sister of his brother’s betrothed, Georgiana for the fiance and the adventure begins. Really fun to read
I loved this book. Georgina is an awesome heroine and Hamish is a strong and likeable hero. Strongly recommend this book. You won’t be able to put it down!
Easy to read romantic. American Mills and Boone.
What a totally strange story of love, but one you will love.
