Wow never thought i would read a RH story about the legend of bloody Mary and it was bloody awesome!
Mae is a witch and she’s trapped in the mirror realm, only when summoned 3 times by people in need (usually women or child) she’s able to come out to help and save them but every time she comes out of mirrors it cuts her, so she’s bloody when she appear in front of them! Thus bloody Mary. This is genial!! Four hunters will try to save her from her curse, Azrael, Hunter, Ellis and Alastair but the time is short, a powerful house of wizards who are in part responsible for her curse, needs the mirror realm destroyed. There’s a bigger villain pulling the strings but this one is still a mystery of who it is and why there was a curse put on Mary to be trapped in the mirror realm. Action, drama, mystery told in multiple POVs makes this read unable to put down. Fantastic retelling of the legend of bloody Mary can’t wait for “Don’t Cross My Path” to be released.

Hooked from start to finish! Started and finished in a couple hours. Could not put it down!
The characters draw you in from the start. You can’t help but want to know everything there is to know about them. And Mary is exceptional. They all help draw readers deeper into the story.
The story is very unique. Or, maybe it’s simply because I had never read anything like it. There are so many stories and retellings on just about every fairytale, but stories on urban legends are not as common as one would think. It definitely draws you in, specifically this one. Sort of temps you to look in the mirror and see if Mae shows her face for you…
Great story with intriguing characters! Can’t wait to read the next one!
Wowzers what a brilliant dream team Lacey Carter Anderson and Helen Scott make.
This storey is loosely based on the Bloody Mary myth but once you get your head round the fact that this is a re-imaged re-telling and understand the fact that this is its own storey you will hopefully enjoy this book.
Bloody Mary is trapped in a realm where she can only escape for a short period to save woman and children who call her name 3 times when they are in danger. Alastair, Hunter, Grim and Elias initially are looking for who they believe to be a serial murderer until they uncover the truth and then want to free her.
Wonderfully written and a very enjoyable read.
This book was all about world building and character development for the series. There was some steam and the promise of more. Lots of action, drama and unanswered questions. I look forward to seeing what will come next.
I was really drawn into the idea of a Bloody Mary RH and it didn’t disappoint! Mae, also known as Bloody Mary, was vengeful, caring, and had morals. She helps women and children who are in need from desperate situations even though it physically hurts her.
Hunter was my favorite of her three guys. He had a very twisted childhood, but chooses to help people instead of giving into his nature. Azrael, also known as Grim, has the power to see how people died, Ellis was able to calm people, and Alastair was a researcher. I hope that we get to learn more about these guys since Hunter had the most page time and development besides Mae. I really liked Azrael’s sister Adelle- she had a spunky and show no fear personality.
Lacey and Helen did an incredible job with this co-write and their writing and each POV flowed well together. I loved being able to see what each character was feeling and learning more about them. I really want to know more about The House of Banshees and what its role really is since I was confused how it came into play. I also need more answers about who trapped Mae and why she was trapped in the first place. This book was filled with secrets, supernaturals, blood, and tons of mirrors and I can’t wait to see how her story ends!
I’m loving the beginning of this series. I’ve never read a book that was about Bloody Mary. And this one takes it and really makes it into an amazing story. Mae or Mary is trapped in another realm. Some see her as evil but others see her as a hero. The story gets mysterious and supernatural as four men try to solve how she got there and by who. The four men are way more than the appear and we just get to know them and Mary. Can’t wait for the next book to see what happens next.

Mae (aka Bloody Mary) is a witch who was locked away in the mirror realm. She is able to come out of the mirror to exact justice on the monsters who hurt others. I really liked Mae – she is fierce and protective of others. The guys are interesting. The story moves quickly, and I feel like it skimmed over some things – like why the guys decided to try to free Mary. In this story, Mae is attracted to all four, but we really only see her starting to form a connection to one. I am intrigued and will likely check out book 2 when it is released.
Our heroine is none other than Bloody Mary, but she helps the innocent, those with no one else to turn to. Imprisoned long ago by those less scrupulous, it will take all our heroes to break her out.
This is the first book in the series which is a paranormal reverse harem story with some horror elements (many blood and violence). The story is well written and comes with an interesting cast of characters. My favorite is of course our heroine. who has a nice bit of depth to her, although I am hoping for more in future books. We only get to delve into one of our heroes in this book, so I expect to see more of the others in future books. The story has lots of action and generally moves at a good pace. And while I could have done with a bit less of the horror element, it was not overwhelming or too distracting. Overall, I enjoyed the story and am curious to see where it goes next.
Recommended.

An amazing twist on Bloody Mary. The book draws you in quickly and doesn’t spit you out till the end, but you’ll find yourself wanting, wanting more, you’ll want the answers and way more.

This book was so freaking good and I really liked it a lot. I just couldn’t get over how well it was written and how addicting it is. The characters will have you loving them and keeping you needing more. So good
Wow this is a fantastic remake of Bloody Mary. The old folklore we grew up with woven with witches and warlocks to create an amazing story. Mae was trapped in the mirror world by warlocks along time ago but she hasn’t stopped helping children and women of abuse. Say her name 3 times and she is summoned to take care of your attacker. She is absolutely amazing and strong but in this story you see her vulnerable side as well like when she is trying to get a victim to say her name and when she meets 4 supernatural men that want to help her escape the mirror world. It’s an amazing story that I would recommend to everyone.
A fantastic start to a series that’s going to grab you and not let you go! I almost wish it had been longer: it was such a great world the authors created, that I wanted to visit every bit of it for way longer. Mary is a true badass, and Alistar, Grim, Hunter and Ellis make up her kick ass harem. It’s a slow burn, but oh boy, it’s shaping up to be a good one! Ten out of ten, would recommend.
Wow I enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and engaging with undeniable chemistry between the couple which made for a storyline that kept me turning the pages. The author definitely gave us a storyline I could get caught up into.

Helen Scott has got imagination in spades! Not sure where it comes from but each series I have encountered feels completely different; new worlds and characters come to life and blow me away. This one is a great spin on the old folk lore, Bloody Mary. Only, we got it all wrong. A witch unfairly trapped in the mirror realm but chose to continue protecting the innocent. She is discovered by these four hot-as-sin men who have made it their mission to rescue her. I was pulled in from the beginning and can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the next installment of this series!
Ever wonder about Bloody Mary the tails you herd as a kid about nought calling her name or she would get you. Well in this updated version Bloody Mary is many things she is a victim trapped for millennium in the Mirror Realm by powerful wizards all for helping those in need. She is also a helper to those with good intentions women and children but those with a darkness in them she is vengeance in all its frightening bloody mess. And as to why she’s so bloody well its the mirror it cuts her every time she’s summoned what lies ahead for Mae (Bloody Mary) will depend on 4 different men they will steal, barter and who knows what to free her it will require cunning and trust because nought everyone wants Mary to escape someone just wants her gone others want the realm she’s in to disappear.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
I thought this was an interesting take on the Bloody Mary story. It is the story of how Mary meets 4 hunters who try to save her from her mirror prison. It was interesting and fun to read as each character is introduced and I start to learn about who and what they are and how everyone ended up doing what they are doing at the start of the story. It mixed magic, paranormal creatures and a bit of a mystery into a interesting story. It also setup a series and cannot wait to see what happens next.
I never would have come up with this twist on a common urban legend but here you go and it’s a good one. There’s a lot going on and I hope the next book continues to deliver and follow through on the various story lines that running through this book because I will tell you I’m intrigued to know what happens next.
What happens to Grim’s sister at the hands of the vampires? Who is the mysterious ‘Master’ at the end the as awakened and what does it mean? And most importantly of all why was bloody Mary trapped in the Mirror Realm all those centuries ago?
Right now, this book has left me with more questions than answers which can be good because I have a fire in that burns to read the next book to get answers. I really hope the next book comes out soon and that there are more answers than questions because I really enjoyed this book.
