When they came for him it was time to run. When they came for his brother it was time to fight.

But the trauma of Chuck’s capture and torture threatens to overtake him. Only the fifth graders he teaches give him reason to hope for the … reason to hope for the future.
But when an unseen enemy takes aim at Chuck, he finds himself running for his life. And from the cops, who now think he might be a murderer. A secret buried deep in Chuck’s damaged soul may be the one thing that could save him. But can he unearth it?
Now, needing to protect his only brother from becoming collateral damage, Chuck Samson must face the dark fears embedded in his mind and find a way to save Stan… or die trying.

This bright and fast-paced cop story will both entertain and frustrate you! As I began reading, my initial review would have been an easy four stars, and it methodically lumbered its way down to a bare three. So here’s why.
First the good stuff. The story is fun; it moves along. The So Cal ambience is really good. The relationship between the …
I found this book to be very interesting from beginning to end.
Action packed. It is amazing what PTSD does to soldiers, and it is amazing what they will do to try to get their lives back to normal.
It was an emotional book that kept you interested the whole time. The characters kept your emotions working and changing all the time.
I always enjoy his writings
The main character is x military. He has a 30 year old autistic brother. His wife was murdered while investigating a news story ; or so he was told.
He encounters a huge Russian guy with a knife, but is saved when a motorist comes by. Later the motorist is found dead . The man’s house burns down and the cops are thinking he is an arsonist and a …
This was a who-done-it that was a real surprise! I appreciated the opportunity to learn the thinking that goes on in their mind of someone with ptsd. Good ending.
Exciting
Very easy to read.
Excellent book in so many ways.
James Scott Bell can weave an unforgettable story to his readers. Don’t Leave Me gripped me from the beginning to the end. Great read.
I enjoyed the story, good reaction writing between Stan and his brother. The lack of build in his chaplaincy left me wondering and Julia’s reappearing seemed disjointed. Still the action scenes were good. Enjoy
I would read more books by this author.
Easy to feel engaged with the characters, A fun read full of humor, suspense, and realism. Especially liked the relationship between the main character and his autistic brother.
Couldn’t put it down
Gripping, keeps you guessing right to the ending
I really enjoyed this book, hard to put down once I started reading it
great read – i enjoyed the characters and the story line holds your attention
Very good…but because there was so much going on it was a little difficult keeping everything straight and remembering all the characters.
It was one I finished in two days while I let everything else go. It was so inspiring to know that the older brother who was having problems of his own gave first place to his autistic younger brother who in the end saved the older brother’s life because Chuck, the older brother, had never failed Stan, the autistic brother. They were both nearly …
