“This book sparkles and sizzles with Siskind’s trademark humor and heat. Don’t go missing this one!” ~ Jen DeLuca, author of WELL METSome people would call Clementine Abernathy a criminal. She considers herself a modern day Robin Hood, who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Not exactly on the up-and-up, but she knows what it’s like to lose everything. And that earth-shattering kiss? She never stood a chance.

Kelly Siskind has delivered another fun and quirky romance read with Don’t Go Stealing My Heart. Clementine and Jack are two characters that are not perfect but have this endearing quality to them that makes you love them all the more. From the moment these two meet until the very end they grab your attention and pull in to this story. Plus there is a little intrigue woven throughout the story.
New Orleans Rush was one of my favourite books of 2019, so I was excited about this one, but also trying to keep my expectations controlled, so I wouldn’t be disappointed. But there’s no need for worrying. Kelly Siskind did it again, and brought a funny, hot, and sweet but also raw and emotional story. Also, Elvis. And reptiles. And Max!
Clementine is a modern Robin Hood: she steals from the rich to give it to the poor, so they can have a better life. One day, she’s assigned to steal a valuable painting that will solve a lot of problems, but meeting Jack turns her life upside down. Add in some hot chemistry between them, mix some Elvis, a few reptiles and some plot twists and we have a delightfully funny and emotional story you can’t stop reading.
This book was amazing! Clementine and Jack’s story was unexpected and beautiful. I love how a moment of weakness when she first meets Jack leads to more truths than she’s ever told anyone. I love how their relationship evolves and to say the end of this book was heart pounding would be an understatement! Fantastic and a must read!
Kelly Siskind does it again! This sweet, sexy adventure is full of surprise twists, deep full characters, and her trademark swoony love story. With so many unique aspects–a small-town Elvis festival, an art thief heroine, and an opposites-attract story that has you rooting for love from their very first meeting.
Well written and fast-paced, this was one of the funnest reads of the year!
Okay, I’m calling it: Kelly Siskind is officially one of my new favourite authors. I read New Orleans Rush earlier this year and fell completely in love with the characters and Kelly’s writing. Between that and the fact I’m a fan of both Van Gogh and Elvis, I was excited about Don’t Go Stealing My Heart.
There’s so much to love about this book, starting with the two main characters: Clementine, the Robin Hood-esque thief who steals from the rich to help the poor, and Jack, the Elvis tribute artist who loves his small town, its people, and most of all his family, and will do whatever he can to help people. These two are so layered; I loved how bits and pieces of their lives and personalities were revealed with perfect timing, making it was impossible not to feel for them, relate to them, and root for them. They had instant chemistry and their interactions had me grinning, squeeing, and swooning. The side characters were great too, and I loved the small town, close-knit feel of the setting. Whichway was ridiculously charming – it’s the type of place I’d love to live in, or at least visit. I’d be so down to attend that Elvis festival every year!
Full of witty banter and well-developed characters, this engaging, fun, and sexy story will make you laugh, pull at your heartstrings, and have you falling in love. The ending is a thrill ride that had me completely enthralled as I zoomed through the pages. I know I’ll be recommending this book as often as I recommend New Orleans Rush (which is A LOT), and I can’t wait to see what Kelly Siskind comes up with next.
Prepare yourself to have your heart stolen by this entertaining and original story !
I loved New Orleans Rush so much and wanted to read more from Kelly Siskind ; and let me tell you i am not disappointed !
Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is what i expected and more.
The author surprises us in so many aspects.
Some examples:
_Clementine, the heroine is a modern Robin Hood, she steals to help people who have nothing, like her when she was younger.
_Maxwell Jack, the hero, is a tribute artist (first time in my life i read something like that).
_If you love reptiles you’re gonna be happy !
_A town and shops with quirky names.
_An impersonator contest.
_Heist, thieves, suspense, surprising twists…
This story is funny and steamy and deeply emotional (but not too teary), your heart will be full and you will end this book with a big smile !
I love Elvis’music so i love Kelly Siskind’s choice and she succeeds to make me understand those men and women who impersonate celebrities. I thought that was a lack of personnality and a bit sad but finally i totally understood our hero and i rooted for him.
I love Jack’s family, yes they are rich but with them you can forget all your prejudices.
Jack is so different from the kind of heroes we are used too. He’s sensitive, hot, sweet and a bit weird but in an adorable way.
Clementine is just amazing, a real badass. She’s a survivor and a fighter.
Their banter and their chemistry is off the charts.
The last twist of the story is worthy of a funny and suspenseful movie.
—> a must read
This was an adorable, unputdownable book. I loved every detail, from the quirky names of the town and its businesses to the very dramatic and heartwrenching twist I honestly didn’t even consider as a possibility. Clementine might be my new favorite heroine– damaged, sarcastic, tough-as-nails, vulnerable, and utterly captivating all at the same time. And Jack? I fell in love with Jack IMMEDIATELY. It didn’t hurt that I’m a huge Elvis fan…(I mean, I once dreamed of getting married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator.)
Despite the number of times I found myself laughing or just grinning like an idiot (and there were a LOT), this book had plenty of depth and true feeling. The gritty, raw pain of Clementine’s childhood was instrumental in helping me truly connect with her character, and Jack’s devotion to his family and to those made him even more attractive. Siskind did an amazing job balancing the heavy and the humorous, making her characters come to life.
Don’t Go Stealing My Heart was such a fun read, and I don’t know how I’m going to wait until Siskind’s next book comes out.
Don’t Go Stealing My Heart by Kelly Siskind is an incredibly heartwarming, fairytale-like story that will captivate readers from page one. The author did a great job in creating the likable, realistic characters. Without giving away any spoilers, Clementine views herself as a modern-day Robin Hood who robs the rich and gives to the poor. It is full of humor, romance and delightful entertainment.
Well, this was refreshing and different! Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a unique standalone contemporary romance. I’ve never read a book like this, with characters like this. Clementine is a modern day Robin Hood. She steals from the rich to give to the poor. She’s had a very hard life, losing both parents at a young age, entering foster care and enduring difficult circumstances. When she is assigned to steal a painting from a rich guy, she thinks it should be easy. What she doesn’t expect is to have an instant connection with this man, Jack. He’s not what he seems, and she begins to fall for her mark. There’s also some thrilling scenes in there with some rival thieves. It’s quirky, fun, and entertaining, and I would absolutely recommend this lighthearted romance to all.

I couldn’t put this book down, it’s so good. It was instant attraction when Clementine and Jack met, she didn’t know he was her mark. He was impressed with her ability to fix his car. The story is fun, quirky, suspenseful at times and just plain entertaining. Loved it. Highly recommended.
Characters:
Clementine Abernathy a criminal. She considers herself a modern-day Robin Hood, who steals from the rich and gives to the poor.
Jack David is a sexy, kind-hearted man. Running the family business and taking care of his sick father.
Thoughts:
Clementine, a female Robin Hood not quite interested in wearing tight pants steals from the rich to give to the poor. She is absolutely doing the wrong things to try and make things right for others. The raw pain Clementine’s childhood helps the reader connect with her character. It is a quirky premise but the writing it swell done and Clementine is a great character. Clementine is given the task of stealing a painting from Jack. As soon as she meets the delightful Jack, things become messy. Jack is running his family business and caring for his sick father. Jack’s devotion to his family made him even more attractive. Clementine knows that she’s in trouble because there is undeniable hot chemistry and witty banter around them. She has such a strong connection to him, and she knows that things are not going to end well for either of them. She has a heist needs to conduct. As we get to know Clementine, we learn that she has trust issues. Complications of a relationship with Jack make them more intense.
This book is filled with laugh out loud moments, along with a few head shaking ones. Romantic, sexy, witty, Rom-Com makes for a fun and action packed read. There are some storyline issues that I would prefer be filled (don’t over think them to hard) but over it is it a delightful read. The story and book had a very Jennifer Cruise feel to it. Despite the number of times I found myself laughing or shaking my head this book did have dimension. Siskind did an amazing job balancing the heavy and the humorous, making her characters come to life. Plus whom doesn’t love a good Elvis impersonator!
This was a solid 4/5 read for me. I look forward to checking out future offerings from Siskind.
I loved Clementine and Jack! Their story was packed with great lines, vulnerable moments, and oh my goodness, the raw emotions…
And the hilarity! I loved the zany cast of characters-hello, an Elvis Army? I was cracking up like a loon just imagining all those sparkling jumpsuits dive-bombing a villain-and fell in love with all the quirkiness that came with! This was a delightful read, packed with a few surprises I never saw coming!
I received an advance reader copy from the author and this is my honest review.
Holy uniqueness batman! You can’t get more quirky than a romance novel between a female thief and an Elvis tribute artist. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a sweet story featuring an unconventional cast of characters. Alternatively heartwarming, funny and downright wacky, the plot was a bit muddled and the ending felt rushed. I did enjoy the epilogue though. Overall I’d give this a 3.5 stars.
This book started a little slow for me. Once I got into the book a little further, I really did started getting right into this quirky, funny romantic story. Clementine hasn’t had a great life and is doing what she believe is the ends justifying the means. Jack is a business exec, leading the family business. He is definitely very nerdy but with a love Elvis. The two just don’t seem to be a perfect match, but as you get to know each of them they really are the perfect match. In the end I really did enjoy reading this book.
Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of Don’t Going Stealing My Heart.
Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a modern day Robin Hood Mets Elvis Presley. If your a fan of Elvis and even I Love Lucy references you’ll love this book.
Kelly Siskind did a wonderful job when writing a book about your modern day Robin Hood stealing from the rich and “giving” to the poor. A sexy, witty, and emotional read. A story about trying to let go of your past and expect the future to better yourself.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this book. The premise was fresh and interesting, the characters endearing, and the romance incredibly steamy.
Clementine Abernathy is a tired, jaded thief – a real-life Robin Hood – stealing from the rich to give to the poor. This end goal is the only thing that keeps her going, but when she gets to the sleepy town of Whichway, Nebraska, she finds her world turned upside down and her heart ensnared by the fumbling but sinfully handsome Maxwell “Jack” David the Third. There’s only one problem – she’s there to steal his priceless, unsigned Van Gogh.
Jack David hasn’t always had it easy. Although his family’s wealth has provided him far more advantages in his life than were ever afforded Clementine in foster care, to his core, Jack is awkward and shy and liable to put his foot in his mouth when talking to the gorgeous, mysterious stranger who has captured his attention. As things heat up between Jack and Clementine, they must decide once and for all if love can overcome anything.
Jack and Clementine’s relationship was a fun one to watch develop. They both start out slightly unsure and a little overwhelmed by their instant connection but throughout the course of the book, their relationship blooms into something that is equal parts sweet and steamy. The actual storyline is both humorous and serious, which allows the reader to truly connect with each of the characters. Jack and Clementine are relatable and quirky and so right for one another, regardless of their differences. There are some wonderful moments of suspense and a heck of a plot twist towards the end. Siskind’s stunningly flawed characters and original plot combine to form a book that I just couldn’t put down. I simply adored Don’t Go Stealing My Heart!

Don’t Go Stealing My Heart
By Kelly Siskind
I love the quirkiness of Kelly’s books ,the characters, town names, businesses and even plots. This one was no exception with the town of Whichway and the Whatnot Diner along with the yearly Elvis Festival. Clementine is a catburglar a modern day Robinhood in town to steal a Van Gogh from someone who’s supposed to be an entitled rich prick. What she discovers is he is caring, generous, loving and wants to save his father along with their company.
Jack isn’t a typical alpha he is shy, quite, nervous nerd, a little on the dorky side not a lot of confidence. That all changes when he sings or when he takes charge in the bedroom. Him and Clementine immediately have a connection and that jeopardizes her mission. What happens when she falls for her mark? What happens when secrets, lies and betrayals are revealed and other thieves now have their sites set for the same prize?
I enjoyed the mystery, danger, humor and banter between Jack and Clementine and how long it took the truth to finally come out. The only thing I would of loved to seen more of was the secondary characters they would of brought more depth and details to the storyline. Overall it was a cute read with some mystery, suspense, danger and love.
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

“I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review”
After enjoying the previous book ‘New Orleans rush’ of this writer I was very looking forward to this story. Especially after reading the blurb, a woman who wants to steal a painting but instead falls for the owner of it?!? This had to be an entertaining story and I was right, it totally was! ‘Don’t go stealing my heart’ is a sweet, fun and light-hearted romance story. You get both POV’s in the story. The main characters Clementine and Jack were really wonderful! I loved them both.
Lately, I read a lot of books with alpha main man characters and although I love them, it was refreshing to read about a guy who wasn’t one. Jack was a shy, caring, dependable, lovable and kind guy. But that didn’t mean that he didn’t go after the woman that he wanted with everything that he had. He did it just in his own quirky, thoughtful, sensitive way. Jack may have grown up in wealth but he wasn’t spoilt. Having a stutter growing up made that he was more compassionate to others.
Clementine was also a very likable character. She may think that she’s better off alone but you could really feel her longing for love and friendship. I’m so happy that she found all that in the small town of ‘Whichway’. A small town that shared Jack’s love for Elvis Presley and his music and where some interesting and kind persons lived.
Clementine and Jack may come from different backgrounds but both also shared some things like their love for bearded dragons. Both also had been hurt in the past so both were careful with their heart but what I loved most about them was how they shared their hurt, painful past and feelings with each other.
‘Don’t go stealing my heart’ is an entertaining, light, sweet story that made me smile from the beginning until the end.
I loved loved loved New Orleans Rush (released 2019) and was so excited when Kelly Siskind announced a new book. Clementine in Don’t Go Stealing My Heart completely stole my heart (cheesy I know; but, so true). Kelly’s characters are written with such fun and unique quirks I quickly fall in love with them.
Clementine’s childhood broke my heart and I loved watching her learn to trust Jack and others. And, while Jack’s past wasn’t nearly as heartbreaking, his junior and high school experiences are COMPLETELY relatable…especially if you were a bit of a nerd, dork, or misfit during your teen years.
I received an ARC from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the story of Clementine Abernathy, a cat burglar, who falls in love with her mark, an engineer who, once every year, struts his stuff as an Elvis tribute artist.
One of the things I like the most about Ms. Siskind’s writing, is that I find her stories fresh and unique, different from the usual romances one can find across the market and this book wasn’t different. It’s a very nice story about an orphaned girl turned burglar and a man who is a geek in more than one sense and who is at a crossroads in his life that have him lying to everyone in sight.
Jack and Clementine are immediately attracted to each other, but they are both entangled in their personal web of lies and have to make hard choices if they want to be together.
An elaborate heist in a small town, an upcoming Elvis Festival, a secret keeping couple and a handful of meddling characters are the center of this fun, romantic story about a young woman longing to grow roots somewhere and the man who’ll win her heart.
