“This book sparkles and sizzles with Siskind’s trademark humor and heat. Don’t go missing this one!” ~ Jen DeLuca, author of WELL METSome people would call Clementine Abernathy a criminal. She considers herself a modern day Robin Hood, who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Not exactly on the up-and-up, but she knows what it’s like to lose everything. And that earth-shattering kiss? She never stood a chance.
Now she’s imagining a fresh start with this dashing man, but that means telling Jack about her past. And other nefarious sorts are after the same painting. Too soon, Clementine learns what it means to risk it all for love.

I wanted my review to be as amazing as this book but I’m not sure I’m that talented.
The way Kelly Siskind tells a story is pure art. This book is cute, fun, and packs an emotional punch. The characters are so well developed that they leaped off the page and into my heart. I need Clementine and Jack to be my friends. I’m not even joking.
You have to read this book.
I feel like everything else I say would involve spoilers and you deserve to go into this without any preconceived ideas. Just know that you’re in for an awesome adventure. This is probably going to be one of those books that I read again in a few weeks just because I enjoyed it so much.
Thank you , Kelly, for sharing this book with the world!
I had the privilege of reading an early copy of Don’t Go Stealing My Heart.
Siskand’s newest novel is a rollicking, rompy romance that had me LOL’ing, wiping a tear, and falling in love!
Clementine and Jack have their issues (don’t we all), but they’re both engaging, relatable characters that I found truly endearing. Siskand’s imagination and creativity are at its finest in this sweet romance I highly recommend!
Despite knowing it will have a happy ever after ending, I found myself yelling at or cheering on the decisions of the stars always hoping for the best for them. Even if steamy scenes are not for you, skip over them and read for the story and plot. When you get to the end, you’ll realize there were many clues contributing to the ending. I feel I can say this is the best book I’ve read.
Rating:
This story was so beautifully written. I’ve read the first, third, and fourth book in this series so far, and now I’ve completed what has been published so far. It was incredible just like the other three. There was that sense of humour, surprise, and emotion. There is SO much emotion. Every second the author has written out a thought or feeling for the character, and that feeling is so easy to understand. Make no mistake, the feelings are complex, there’s a lot to think about and put together. But everything fits together. The story is complete. I love how Clementine and Jack’s story pans out. Jack is an Elvis tribute artist and it added a bit of a randomly put aspect that somehow fits together with the whole story. Clementine is a good-hearted criminal. She was a huge amount of fun to read about. I didn’t expect any of the twists and turns. And there are a lot. I loved the ending. Everything turns out so well. Overall, this is a beautiful series worth reading. This book just adds to the amazingness of this series. CHECK IT OUT!
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked it a lot, although I liked the 1 set in New Orleans better. Well-written & fun.
Edge of the seat suspense, yet happily ever after
Every book Kelly writes impresses me more and more. She’s so fiercely talented that I can’t help but be in awe of her words. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a shining example of that.
Clementine is an adorable heroine who’s not perfect, but is absolutely perfect at the same time. She’s quirky and adorable, a whole lot of fun to follow throughout the pages. I loved that she was a little bit bad, but with good intentions, of course. I’m for certain that she is my new favorite heroine in books.
Lawd have mercy. Jack is a hottie. I love him. He’s kind-hearted and generous, the sweetest of the sweet, but holy sexy in bed. Enough said, yeah?
I loved this story. It’s unique and fun, nothing heavy and exactly what I needed to read at the time. Kelly’s writing sparkles on the pages, while Jack and Clementine proved to be a new favorite romance couple of mine.
I absolutely loved this!
It reminded me of the book Code Of Honor by April White, which is one of my fave read for this year so far.
With the premise, Girl-Steals some stuff that the Boy owns / is directly involved with.
Clementine, after a long time of being a modern Robin Hoodess has an accumulated and unexorcised guilt of stealing , even if it was for good.
For readers who have problems reading about morally twisted characters, this book will not be a trigger for you.
Jack on the other hand, deals with the pressure on maintaining the business that basically keeps the town upright, skirmishes from his past self, family health problems and the wonders of a tribute artist.( for Elvis fans out there )
What really surprised me and made this book a lot different from others, is the intimacy that the author efdectively injects in the relationship bet. G and B, the seamlessness in it, how it was so right and not at all abrupt.
Anyway, this book will be on my To Re Read pile. Which is basically, the highest compliment I (or everyone else ,really) can give to a book. The thought that, I would be willing to immerse myself to a story I already know about. It takes a lot of brilliant writing for an author whose books will become a comfort read.
So, Miss Siskind, thank you so much for your magic that tide me over this quaratine period. This is my first read from your shelf and I will be reading your other books.
Nobody does flirty and fun like Kelly Siskind! I adored Clementine and Jack. Add in a bearded dragon named Lucy, an Elvis impersonator competition, and a small town called Whichway, and you know you’re in for a treat with this book. Smiled from ear to ear the whole time reading!
4 star review Don’t Go Stealing My Heart by Kelly Siskind
When I read the blurb I knew I had to read and review this book as it intrigued me and I love finding new to me authors .
Although most would call Clementine Abernathy a criminal or a con woman, she reminded me of a female Robin Hood. Except in this case the person who was in her sights turns out to be a nice guy instead of someone horrible that she has her eye on as a mark.
It all becomes complicated when she is attracted to Jack David and after one astonishing kiss she knows that he is the one for her. Will he accept her past or will he reject and leave her?
This was a quirky romance that had laughter and steam and was an easy read. I fell hard and fast for Jack, he is totally swoon worthy and an all around great guy. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart was also emotional at times and my heart just about broke for all that Clementine has survived.
The added sub plot with the Elvis contest just added an additional layer to my pleasure. All in all an entertaining read that I enjoyed.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. A story about a thief but finds another person who loves and owns a bearded dragon. This story keeps you turning the pages to get to the end. Cannot go wrong with reading this one.
Kelly Siskind was a new-to-me author, but I’m a romantic suspense junkie. The blurb was enticing. It sounded light but suspense-y. And I love giving new-to-me authors a try because it makes me feel like I’m not reading similar stories over and over (for the most part). I’m a book cover and blurb whore at heart, and Don’t Go Stealing My Heart appealed on both fronts. So in I dove. And should have known better than to do that as I was trying to fall asleep. (If you read any of my reviews, you’ll figure out that I do that all too often.) I thought I could read a chapter or two to help my mind shut down. It’s the lie I tell myself too many nights lately. And before I knew it…I nearly saw the sun rise!
NICUnurse’s Rating: Turns out Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a fun, funny (yet also emotional), quirky story that most definitely didn’t have me feeling like I was reading the same romantic plot from other books. It had me wanting to comfort both Clementine and Jack for what they endured growing up. And then it had me cheering them on as they worked toward making a relationship blossom. The twist at the end wasn’t one I saw coming, and when I don’t guess the plot twist before the author reveals is, I LOVE that. Nothing worse than a predictable romantic suspense plot. So if you’re looking for a book with all of those elements, look no farther than Don’t Go Stealing My Heart. Just maybe don’t start it at bedtime. You’ll thank me after a good night’s sleep! Oh! Forgot to add: Needless to say, I’ll be on the lookout for more works from Kelly Siskind!
I give Don’t Go Stealing My Heart by Kelly Siskind 5 out of 5 stars!
Kelly Siskind is a relatively new author to me and with each book I read of hers I come out wondering why I haven’t read more from this very talented author.
Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a witty, fun entertaining romance that captivated me from the first page to the last line, it’s a modern day take on the classic fairy tale Robin Hood.
Clementine Abernathy steals from the rich to help orphan’s what she doesn’t expect is to have someone steal from her and certainly not her heart stolen …..
Jack Mets Clementine when his car has broken down and she stops to help him out what follows is a couple who can’t get each other out of their minds. When they meet up again it’s all for the wrong reasons, Clementine is meant to be conning the man in front of her and that man is not meant to be Jack but as they get to know each other they realise they have a lot more in common than they could ever have expected…..
This is a fun lighthearted read that will amuse and appeal to many readers, it’s one of those books that’s full of feel good factors and it has characters you will adore so all that’s left for me to say is I recommend you one click this gem of a read.
I’ve been a fan of Kelly’s books for a long time and I love the quirky characters she comes up with. In her last book, New Orleans Rush, we had a family of magicians and a struggling artist turned magicians’s assistant and this book we have an Elvis tribute artist (don’t call him an impersonator!) and a female cat burglar. Give me an unlikely pairing to pique my interest.
Clementine comes to town with a job to do. She makes a lot of assumptions about the person she is supposed to steal from so when she realizes that all of them are wrong, she finds herself at a crossroads. The fact that Jack is unlike anyone she’s every met before, makes her job that much harder. He’s kind and gentle and not even remotely close to the cutthroat CEO she expected him to be.
I just LOVED these Jack and Clementine!! Their initial meeting is a classic meet cute, which I really enjoyed, and it set the tone for the rest of the book. Jack and Clementine’s relationship is a lot fun, but there is also a level of seriousness that creeps in every once in a while. He knows that she is hiding something, but he also doesn’t want to push her away. But Jack is also keeping secrets and little by little he lets Clementine in on those secrets, making their relationship even stronger.
BTW….Jack is one of my favorite type of book characters. The strong, silent type that let’s it all out in the bedroom. OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD. The first time it happened my jaw dropped and then I found myself look forward to the next time it was going to happen.
It’s just one of the many things I loved about this book and one of the many reasons why you should read it!
Kelly Siskind brings fresh air of new perspective in romance. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a literary diamond. Unique. Priceless. Beautiful. Glittering with witty banter and quirky characters. Possessing the blinding light of heartwarming and mesmerising emotions.
Clementine had only one agenda to come to the small town of Whichway. And that doesn’t involve judging the legendary Elvis festival. She is a con artist. A modern day Robin Hood. And her target is the Van Gogh in Maxwell David’s mansion. But Jack aka Maxwell David the Third isn’t what she expected. Sometimes shy. Sometimes bossy. Man of golden heart, dirty mouth and gorgeous body. But he has secrets too. Who has the bigger one?
This story is a colourful maze that sucked me right in. The author’s writing is magical that brings every small detail to life. The town. The citizens. Clementine is an amazing woman. Life has dealt her the short hand and she has raised above it. She tries to help the less fortunate people incessantly. She is brave and intelligent and real. Her brokenness broke me but her fierceness delighted me. Jack is an equally amazing man. He may have born with a silver spoon but he is so kindhearted and considerate. He has the biggest heart ever. Considering how tough his early life was…it’s a big accomplishment! They have this instant connection that solidifies with each passing moment. Clementine initially spent time with him to come closer to her heist, but soon she fall in love with the charming businessman. Same happened to Jack. Clementine found a home for her lonely and sad heart. And Jack found a true friend, a confidante and someone to share everything with. Including his Elvis music and reptile sanctuary. That dash of action and thriller like chase added to the story’s personality. And Jack in bed is a wonderful surprise…
Don’t Go Stealing My Heart by Kelly Siskind is hundred percent romance goodness through and through. The romantic in me couldn’t contain the feelings and excitement. It’s sweet. It’s funny. It’s sexy. It’s heartwrenching goodness from Kelly Siskind.
Received ARC for honest review
4-4.25 stars. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is a great read! I love Kelly Siskind’s writing. It is so fresh, quirky, fun and different. Her New Orleans Rush was one of my favorite books in 2019. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart has that same signature style. You get so many fun characters and special touches- from an Elvis impersonator competition to matching pet lizards!
This is Clementine and Jack’s story. Clementine was orphaned as a child and the man who raised her brought her up to be a con-woman and thief. She is now an adult, but she still does jobs for him and raises money from her thefts to send to an orphanage in India, in true Robin Hood style. She comes to a small town playing a judge to an Elvis tribute artist festival, planning to steal a famous painting of one of the town’s residents, Jack. She meets him before she arrives in town when his car is stuck on the side of the highway. Not knowing who he is, she lets herself be seen as herself, instead of her made up con-persona. They have an instant connection, but things get complicated when they meet again in town and she discovers Jack is her mark. After spending time together, they explore their connection and she knows she can’t steal from him. She must decide if she can give up her life of charity thieving and start over for love and Jack must decide if he can forgive her for her past when he finds out who she really is.
I really liked this story. It did start a little slow and the chemistry took a bit to feel. But the couple was a great match. I loved Clementine and Jack. They were fun, quirky characters with good banter and many layers to them. Clem was a great, kind person, totally at odds with her cat burgling past. She was conned herself and groomed into her lifestyle, thinking it was for charity and not knowing how wrong it was. Jack was shy at first and very sweet, but soon showed his strength and kindness, not to mention being an alpha in the sheets. They had a good, slow burn chemistry and an amazing soulmate connection. The end made me knock the rating just a bit, as I thought it was kind of abrupt. I didn’t completely love the way the everything wrapped up and I wanted a bit more resolution overall. Still, I liked the book a lot, if not quite as much as New Orleans Rush. It was such a charming read with so many extra special touches.
Overall, I really enjoyed Clementine and Jack’s sweet and quirky love story. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Siskind comes up with next.
Really enjoyed this heartwarming, sexy, fun and laugh out loud adventure filled with exciting and engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Was so hard to put down and highly entertaining from beginning to end.
I very much enjoyed Kelly Siskind’s “Don’t Go Stealing My Heart,” a sweet, quirky, funny, and ultimately uplifting story that featured wonderfully complex, well-developed characters and a unique, engaging plot complete with a twist at the end that I never saw coming. The Elvis theme that ran throughout the book was a lot of fun, as was the small-town setting of Whichway, Nebraska. I especially loved that the residents were so friendly and gave their businesses such comical names, in keeping with the town’s history.
The main characters of this story, Jack and Clementine, were well-matched in spite of their very different upbringings, and I loved the slow burn of their relationship dynamic as they got to know each other over the course of the story. It took me a few chapters to warm up to Clementine because she seemed a bit prickly at first, but as she started to open up and I got to know and understand her, I fell in love with her just as much as Jack did. Given her line of work, it made sense that she would try to keep people at arm’s length as much as possible, but I was so happy when she finally decided to let Jack see her true self.
Most of the time in his day-to-day life, Jack was endearingly nerdy and awkward, but he really came to life when performing his Elvis tribute act. Above all else, he tried to do what was best for his family, their company, and its employees, even though it was a challenge as he struggled to complete his research in time for the town’s annual Elvis tribute festival. Jack also struggled with romantic relationships and had been burned several times in the past, but he really connected with Clementine and knew there was something special about her from the start. There were a number of roadblocks along their path to happiness, but I found it very easy to root for them along the way.
Overall, “Don’t Go Stealing My Heart” was an excellent read and I look forward to checking out more of Ms. Siskind’s work in the future.

Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is fun, sexy, and heartfelt- everything I’ve come to expect and love from Kelly Siskind. It had such an entertaining and unique premise, and two charming main characters who will definitely steal your heart!
This story was equal parts romantic, suspenseful, quirky, and heart wrenching. It was light-hearted, but serious, and I loved how Ms. Siskind was able to balance the more emotional and heavier aspects of the story with humor and heat. Throw in a twist I didn’t see coming and this story had me completely engaged.
Clementine and Jack are both so unconventional, I adored them!
Clemetine is so much more than just a modern day Robin Hood and I loved getting to know all about her. She has a history that will tug at your heartstrings, causing you to root for her, even when you know what she’s doing is wrong. Jack is just darling! He’s such a *good* man- a caring son, a dedicated boss, an attentive big brother. And he’s got a fun, kind of goofy, side to him that you wouldn’t expect, as an Elvis tribute artist! Clementine and Jack shouldn’t work, but in the world of Whichway, these 2 went together like peanut butter and bananas.
If anyone knows me at all, then you know how much I LOVED New Orleans Rush when I read it in 2019. So needless to say, I was beyond excited for Don’t Go Stealing My Heart.
I read the synopsis and I knew it sounded exactly like the type of story I would devour. And devour it I did!
One of the things I loved most about New Orleans Rush is that Siskind added a bit of intrigue. She did the same thing in Don’t Go Stealing My Heart.
It’s what makes Siskind’s books stand out. She doesn’t write “just a romance”. It’s so much more than that. She writes a STORY. You get all of the swoony and adorable content you’d expect from a romance. But you also get emotional depth, stress induced heart palpitations, and some wicked twists.
The sparks between Clementine and Jack left me not wanting to put this book down. They have banter that’s equal parts delicious and sincere.
I loved everything about the town of Whichway. From the names of everything within, to every single one of its residents. It’s somewhere I wouldn’t mind moving to.
If you haven’t read Siskind yet, you need to. Her books are wonderful. New Orleans Rush is marvellous. Don’t Go Stealing My Heart is sensational.
