Dr. Xander KaneI don’t remember the last 12 years. I don’t remember becoming a surgeon.I don’t remember the day of the accident or the girl named Charlotte that was in the car with me.All I remember is the girl I loved named Billie. My friends all tell me we broke up and haven’t been together in over ten years. But all I remember is how I feel and the memories of her. So I search everywhere for … her.
So I search everywhere for her, only she’s nowhere to be found.
Then I go to sleep. Every night, I dream, but not about Billie.
I dream about a faceless woman. I hear her voice call out Xander. I can feel and taste her. I smell the scent of flowers after the rain.
I convince myself I must be going crazy because that means I wasn’t loyal to Billie.
Slowly, my memory of the last twelve years comes back about everything except Billie.
But then I’m in surgery. As soon as I’m introduced, I know it’s the girl named Charlotte that was in the car accident with me. She’s the one who haunts my dreams.
And it’s clear that I’ve hurt her. But then I continue to do so.
When I finally know in my heart that Charlotte is who I love, trust has been broken.
Forgiveness is required.
I can only hope I didn’t let my past destroy my future.
(Don’t Forget Me is the second installment of the It’s Complicated series. At approximately 60,000 words, it is an amnesia, medical romance, billionaire romance with a HEA.)

Don’t forget me is an amazing book!! Your emotions will be all over the place while Xander and Charlotte go through there ups and downs. This book has it all.
Xander believes he is still in love with his ex girlfriend billie when he wakes up from a coma and he cant remember Charlotte he cant remember the last 12years. Charlotte is very devastated because she has such strong feelings for Xander.
6 months later they find them self’s in the same hospital and operating room. Xander slowly starts remembering Charlotte and some of the 12 years. Once you start reading this book you are not going to want to put it down. Your emotions will be all over the places. Great story and characters.
Charlotte is an orthopedic medical device representative. She advises doctors on which medical device to use during surgical operations. Charlotte was in a car accident and broke her foot. She was in a cast/walking boot for six months and not able to work.
Xander is an orthopedic surgeon who used to be a paramedic. He listened to his best friend Noah and invested his money, now he is a self-made billionaire. Xander was in a car accident and hit his head on the steering wheel. He doesn’t remember the last twelve years and thinks he is still in love with his ex girlfriend Billie.
You get heartache, threats and a few surprises you won’t see coming. I’m looking forward to the next. book in this series.
The ending of Crossing The Line leads into this second novel, in which we learn that Xander has suffered from a car accident, and no longer remembers his life or the woman he currently loves. While Charlotte is heartbroken, she does give Xander the space to work through his feelings.
The beginning of this story introduces the confusion that Xander is going through. He remembers ex girlfriend Billie from 12 years ago, but he also has visions of a faceless, nameless woman and feels intense emotions for her. This conflict confuses him, and as he starts to build a relationship (again) with Charlotte, he struggles with the memories of the past and what is happening in the present. Charlotte shows she is a strong woman, overcoming a tough and lonely past, which makes her work even harder for the happy ending she should have with Xander. Their time together after the accident forces them to reconnect, relearn, and remind each other of why they fell in love.
This is the second of the It’s Complicated series, and just to keep things straight I would suggest reading book one, Crossing the Line before this. The events in book one set the tone for this story and this picks up after book one.. sort of. We all felt the vibe between Charlotte and Xander, there was the bidding war from afar, and of course the accident, now it’s six months after things are slowing getting back to normal. Xander still doesn’t remember Charlotte, and Charlotte is devastated but keeping her distance from Xander. The last thing Xander remembers is that he is twenty-two and in love with his ex, so of course he is frustrated when he can’t remember the last twelve years and even more when he can remember someone special but can’t see her face. After going through with the planned move to Chicago and starting anew, Xander is shocked when he sees Charlotte his first day of surgery. For Charlotte this is agony, spending time near Xander day in and day out without him remembering just what they were. But when Xander starts to push for them to hang out, and starts to slowly get bits of his memory, will Charlotte be able to trust that he wont suddenly drop her for an ex? Or will she embrace the fact that he is starting to slowly remember that she is the one that matters?
I really enjoyed this story, the plot of finding love and then suddenly that person doesn’t even remember you. Xander and Charlotte’s chemistry was smoking hot, and the story of how they work out their issues was epic. There is a small plot hole with the whole Nathan thing. I really did enjoy this and give it 4.5 stars.
Great!
This is book 2 in the It’s Complicated series.. In this book. Charlotte is still recovering from the car wreck she had with Xander, and trying to get over him. Xander is still trying to regain all of the memories he lost because of the accident. Both are trying to get on with their lives. When Charlotte returns to work, she walked into the surgery room, not knowing Xander will be there. Her heart hurts seeing him, but she doesn’t say anything to him. When Xander sees her come in, he knows she’s the faceless woman he’s be dreaming about for months. But he can tell he still has feeling for her, but she doesn’t want to be hurt any worse.
This was a great book. Charlotte is a strong, wonderful character. She overcomes her childhood, growing up the way she did, and is still a positive happy person. Xander is a strong character also. He puts himself through med school working as a paramedic. You can tell they love each other. I was drawn into this book from page one. It keeps you interested through the entire book. I definitely recommend this book. And series.
Wow! Just when things are going good, something has to happen again! Man poor Charlotte has a very sad start to life but this book ends well!
Xander and Charlotte’s story is one of love and patience. Xander can’t remember that he is in love with Charlotte and try as she might she can’t forget him. They are thrust together when they are forced to work together. No matter how hard she tries, she is pulled to him like a magnet. Xander feels like he should love her but his memories are for a woman he loved long ago and his mind won’t let him betray her. Can he find happiness with Charlotte? Will she forever be heartbroken? I cried with Charlotte on her journey. You will too!
There is nothing worse than falling in love with someone and then having them not remember you. When Charlotte and Xander have a car accident Xander’s memory of their love is only in bits and pieces. Loved how these two keep trying to find the love that they lost in each other. Great book!
Xander and Charlotte go through so many ups and downs but in the end love does conquer all! A must read!
I am not sure how my heart survived this book! I don’t think I have ever rooted for a fictional couple as much as I did Xander and Charlotte.
I loved the flashbacks along the way, and that this story was told so well from both perspectives.
I wasn’t sure if I liked the bouncing back and forth in time. Overall, it is a decent enough read to spend some free time and forget the dishes.
I love this new series so much. This is book 2 and I was in it from beginning to end. What is sleep lol. Couldn’t put it down. It is a roller coaster of emotions but the HEA is there. Thank you Maggie for another fantastic story.
I couldn’t put this down once I started. I loved everything about this book. Xander and Charlotte are such well developed characters and their story is just so good. Since they were introduced in Crossing the Line, you knew they had gotten together. In their story it goes between past and present and how they came to be. their emotions felt saw real and honest, it made me smile and cry throughout and the tears were worth it.
Xander & Charlotte’s story is full of many riveting moments. Love, loss, heartache, renewal, healing, trust, newness & so much more. Xander is an orthopedic surgeon and Charlotte is a medical rep who assists in surgeries. A chance meeting in a night club brings them together and their relationship – while long distance – blossoms into a genuine love for each other. But a horrible accident pulls them apart when Xander ends up with amnesia and can’t remember a huge chunk of his life – including Charlotte. The story takes several twists and turns as they are suddenly thrown back together in the OR at her hospital when Xander becomes the new surgeon. Maggie Cole certainly delivers a fresh new tale of time. Love, loss & reunion. This HEA is filled with deeply designed characters who have intense background stories that shape and design an articulate love story between the hero & heroine. The returning characters from the first book in the series are a delight and add another level of depth to the story. This an amazing book with a fresh, new plot unseen in other books. This is a must read, a stand alone read for sure, but start with “Crossing the Line” the 1st book in the “It’s Complicated” series. Well done yet again Maggie! A++++
Another smash hit from Maggie Cole’s new series It’s Complicated! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this book and the series – well all of Maggie’s books! She is an amazing writer who keeps us on our toes and on the edge with every page!
WOW what a powerful story from a Hot, Sexy, Steamy new love to an accident to a 12 year memory loss. Waking up to believe you still love another. A story of never losing hope that the memories and the love will return. What is amazing is how Xander tries to get his memory back and how Charlotte secretly helps him get his life back as she endures all his memories of another he loved.
Grab a box of tissues because you are going to need them for this Amazing love story.
Maggie has done it again because once you start it, you cant put it down.
Loved the book, I could not put it down. Had me captivated from the first page.
I can not wait for the next installment in the series. Loved the characters and the story line was epic kept me reading, I wanted to know how it all ended and could not stop reading till I got to the end. Loved it.
Wow, just wow! What an amazing story for Xander and Charlotte and how one night can change your life forever. Xander and Charlotte just ooze chemistry, they are sexy, hot and just hit it off so well, feelings between them just morphed into something neither of them saw coming and then it happens, the unthinkable that you can’t comprehend, the man you love has no recollection of who you are and only remembers one person who isn’t you. Their story is so emotional, heart breaking and you just want to hug them both. Charlotte is heartbroken and doesn’t know what to do, how long do you wait to see if Xander remembers everything they had together? When they are thrown together at work, she has to put everything aside and make it work for both their sakes. Will their time together start to jog his memory? Will Charlotte be able to move past her fears of being hurt again? I absolutely loved this book, this new series by this author is outstanding! I’m so invested in these characters that I’m so excited to read the next book in the series. Bravo Maggie Cole, Bravo!! I found this book on BookSprout.
Sex,Romance, Love, A heart warming novel. Keep trying, never give up! Friends will always help you! Don’t forget me is awesome. Thanks for another good one Maggie Cole
This book put me through an emotional wringer! It had all the feels and then some. The author makes masterful use of flashbacks to provide the entire backstory for this book. The characters were complex and relatable. Cannot wait to read the rest of this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
