From USA Today Best Selling Author Ali Parker I’m a country boy. We get messy for fun.The good times are over, though. Hard work, long days, and the heat of the sun have calloused my hands and my heart. My brother split, and my folks headed out for a trip, leaving me and my pup to manage the ranch. Between family coming to help, training the new guys, and dealing with a sexy little dog trainer my … guys, and dealing with a sexy little dog trainer my Pa hired, I’m going nuts.
I need to focus on the crops for next year, but the only thing on my mind is her.
She’s everything I want in my life, but love is complicated.
Any man would love to have this loudmouth, sexy little tart.
Especially me.
I could use a safe place to land, but her daddy ain’t too keen on my father.
There’s bad blood between our families.
But that’s our fathers’ beef. Not ours.
Regardless of why she’s here, this girl is after my heart, and she’s not shy about it.
Time to show her who’s in charge of the ranch and her.
I am, and I’ll always be.
Don’t Close Your Eyes is an 80,000 word novel with an HEA. It’s book 4 of a standalone series about the Dawson brothers.

I love Ali Parker’s books, but “Don’t Close Your Eyes” (Dawson Brothers book 4) was a bit repetitive and slow pace compare to the earlier books in these series. Also, theirs a few discrepancies in the story line. That is if you read them in order like I do you can tell what they are, but if you read them stand alone it is a lovely story line. Overall, I love that the last Dawson brother Luke found love to a corky, smart woman Brea. Cannot wait to read the next Dawson family story line and how they find their HEA.
Luke has been left to his own devices. He feels abandoned by everyone. I felt really sorry for him. Following his mothers recovery his parents decide to go on a road trip of a life time. Ted is still on honeymoon, Mason is with his girl on the neighbouring ranch and David is off on his music tour. It’s just him and a mutt that like to pee everywhere but outside. His dad has hired a trainer for the dog without telling him and that’s where the trouble starts. Add to that the fact his dad has enlisted the help of a cousin he doesn’t know. He’s alone lost and confused and he misses his parents and brothers more than he cares to admit The gauntlet has been tossed at his feet. Can the boy become a man and rise to the challenge
You betcha! totally amazing read
This is my honest and unbias opinion of the story. I loved reading this sweet romance story. It shows family bonding is very important loved reading it.
Another great read!! It was well written with strong character development. Loved Brea and Luke together. This one had it all – drama, sometimes intense, passion, secrets, heartache, stress. It kept me on an emotional rollercoaster. Couldn’t put this one down. You’ll definitely want to read the whole series, even if they are standalone books.
The fourth book in the Dawson Brothers series – can be read on its own but suggest you read the others first to get the family dynamic. Story about the youngest brother Luke who is left home alone to look after the farm and finds love where he least expected it. Lovely story.
This is another great book from Ali Parker, this was a book about family and maybe finding the one for you. Don’t Close Your Eyes is a story about a young man Luke who is feeling a bit left behind, after all his brothers and their significant others are out traveling the world and his parents have just informed him they are heading out on a trip. It’s just Luke and his dog Duck. Brea was just sent to Luke’s to help with the training of the dog. There is something between them but they are not exactly sure what they are feeling. I enjoyed this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
This was one of my favorites in The Dowson Brothers series. I was a little disappointed that other family members weren’t included so much in this one, but Luke and Brea still made this one an enjoyable read. They had a great chemistry and were truly perfect for each other. Another quick and sweet read from Ali!

I loved this book. I really hope that some of the side characters will get their own book. The play and background is fantastic and makes you evaluate how you treat your own family.
Luke and Brea’s story was sweet and steamy, and it totally tugged at my heartstrings. I loved Reading about the youngest Dawson son and how he and Brea find love. Dogs, ranching, family and friends, and here you have a recipe for falling in love!
This book is about Luke and Brea. Luke is the youngest Dawson brother and Brea is a dog trainer. Luke deals with his family leaving him to run the farm on his own, feeling overwhelmed. Brea and her dad are close but she doesn’t live with him on the family farm. Luke and Brea’s working relationship turned into such an amazing love story. The attraction and chemistry is sizzling hot. I was drawn into their story from beginning to end. A well written storyline with fantastic characters that were relatable. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A great way to bring this family full circle.
Luke, the youngest Dawson brother, gets kind of thrown off the deep end and is not the friendliest when Brea, a local dog trainer, shows up to train hi new pup Duck. As their story progresses the reader gets to see just how much changes for both of them personally and in their relationships with family and each other. The characters allow you that glimpse of their life rooted in reality, including the sad parts.
Loved this series
You absolutely outdid with this series. In the beginning we found ourselves loving the oldest Dawson but by the time we get to the youngest we see how each brother had their own special place in the series. Luke is the one we are drawn to the most. He is this carefree and fun loving yet a workaholic. He ties the whole family together in everyway. Brae is this young and independent woman who needs to prove that she can do it on her own. When you get the, together is a perfect fit. I congratulate you Ali on a fantastic series. Now when do we get to read about the other Dawson’s. I’m really interested in see what happens with Tanner. I give it 5+ stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy
This is a true romantic story with Luke Dawson and Brea. Luke the youngest of the Dawson brothers was given a surprise by his parents by telling him that he would be responsible for the ranch while they are away. Luke was not sure he was up to the job plus he has a new puppy that is has no training at all. Luke’s dad provided a surprise for him by hiring a trainer for the new puppy called Duck. Brea was the trainer that was assigned to this duty. Immediately when Luke saw her he like what he saw. So the romance and story develop into a wonderful love adventure. I love and recommend reading about the Dawson family and the various love adventures in their lives. Ali Parker keep writing about the Dawson family.

Another great read from Ali Parker! This book features Luke Dawson. His parents go on a trip and his brothers are busy with their gals, so he is given the responsibility to take care of the farm. Before his parents leave, his father hires Brea, a dog trainer for Luke’s dog. Luke and Brea get to know and like each other, but unbeknownst to them, there is bad blood between their families. Will they overcome the difficulties to have their HEA? I am voluntarily leaving my review of this ARC.
I have loved reading the Dawson Brothers series .It’s all about family coming together through good times and bad .
Poor Luke is the baby of the family and I feel he got the short end of the stick. All his brothers have moved on and now his parents are jumping ship . ( they do deserve it but c’mon ) Leaving him to run the family farm …… Abandonment much … OUCH!!
The emotions run high in Don’t close your eyes. Luke and Brea’s chemistry was undeniably sexy , at times hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking . There are some scenes you don’t see coming that keep you eager to read on into late night hours .
I’m sorry to see the series come to an end , but I loved reading every page .
WAY TOO HOT!!!
Wow! I don’t know what could have made me think this story was going to be different. I know right? Like Ali wouldn’t bring the heat. Man, I must have been tripping. She brings new meaning to the phrase “hot and bothered”. Her characters are always relatable and realistic. The scenes superbly crafted with limitless possibilities. Schemes and plots strong and flowing. Action is shown to the fullest extent. Emotions brought to the readers are hard hitting and powerful. An amazing artist in her own right, with the same enthusiasm and perfection she always brings. Great job Ali, thanks for sharing your world with us.
This is my favorite of all the Dawson brothers books! Luke is being forced to run his family’s ranch after his brothers are all “hooked up” with their significant others and his parents take off on a trip. He is resentful, nervous, and lonely at the ranch. Enter Brea, a dog trainer who has come to help him train Duck, his hunting dog. Luke is surprised that his dad hired her behind his back, but after spending time watching her work with Duck, he realizes that she’s amazing. He also realizes that he likes her. Brea and Luke develop a friendship of sorts, but she is stunned by her father’s reaction of her working there. There is some family history between the them that neither are aware of. Can Brea and Luke overcome family differences, their reluctance to commit, and try for a real relationship? The depth of characters is wonderful and the story ends with the best HEA! Luke has found him self deserted and in charge of the family ranch. His parents have gone travelling in a motor home. They have arranged for his cousin Tanner, who he’s never met to come and help out. His father told him he’d arranged for some dog training as they walked out the door. He is feeling all snippy because his brothers are all living their own lives and he’s been thrown in the deep end. Him and Tanner build a strong friendship over time as he realises what a help he has been to him. Brea trains dogs and is heading out to Dawsons ranch to train a hunting dog. Luke is not impressed he can train his own dog he just doesn’t have the time. He gives her the day to see what she can achieve and he’s shocked when he sees the result. Brea’s dad warns her to be careful and stay away from him. Unfortunately she is starting to have feelings for him. Their is so much sexual frustration between them that they decide to have a one night stand to release their tension. It backfires as their feelings grow and Luke is warned to stay away from Brea.
Loved this book! Brea and Luke were funny, entertaining and had sizzling chemistry. The story was well written and had plenty of family drama, considering Luke and Brea’s father’s have been feuding for years. A fantastic romantic read that kept me turning the pages.
