Loved the book! What’s a girl to do when she’s got the hots for her best friends brother? Well try not to sleep with him. What she doesn’t know won’t hurt our friendship right?

Summer andMatt’s chemistry cannot be denied. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly with not only chemistry but a touch of suspense added to make for a must read.
I really liked this story. The characters were well developed. I got very frustrated with Emmy, Summer, and Matt several times. They made me want to shake them or smack them upside the head, like come on people COMMUNICATE!
Summer has been best friends with Emmy for years. She even lived with Emmy and Matt and their family for several years after her parents abandoned her. Summer has also been in love with Matt for years but was in denial because she didn’t want to upset Emmy. She and Matt had been together once, twelve years before Emmy’s wedding week. Summer was determined to avoid Matt as much as possible but with her being the maid of honor and him being the best man, that was going to be difficult.
Matt has been in love with Summer (again in denial!) for years but he is terrified of loving someone and losing them like he lost his mom. He has avoided being around Summer but now that they are thrown together for Emmy’s wedding, he is remembering how he felt/feels for her. Matt doesn’t want to hurt Emmy, but can’t stay away from Summer no matter how hard he tries. He also has some business crud going on that may threaten the wedding but he is trying to keep it under wraps so that he doesn’t ruin anything for Emmy.
I did like this story. The 4-star rating was because I kept feeling violent towards them. They were frustrating me with their whole I want to be with you, but I’m not going to tell you and we can’t be together because of Emmy. Being that they are all adults, I wanted to tell them to sit down and talk out their crud! There are a lot of feels with this book and not all of them are frustration! I loved their happy ever after. I definitely recommend reading this book.

A hot secret (you can guess it), a denial of attraction that eventually turns into…. (you can guess it too). Really, though, a totally hot romance that’s very well written. Such is Aubrey Wright’s Don’t Be My Valentine, and it is a fun rollercoaster of a story that’s definitely recommended.
3.5 stars
I had a bit of trouble getting into this one, seemed slow and a lot of internal dialogue, but I love this trope ( well tropes ) and wanted to finish. The history between Matt and Summer was certainly unmistakable but he fought it SO much! Sort of drove me crazy lol but he finally came to his senses. Summer wasn’t much better, she kept telling herself to stay away but just couldn’t. So you get a siblings best friend/second chance romance with drama, some action/suspense, tons of steam and an HEA.

Summer and Matt Had a fling when they were teenagers before Matt
join the forces.
They met up again quite a few years later at Matt’s sisters wedding.
Things are not as they seem. To find out what I mean you will have to read this book yourself.
Great plot and characters with a happy ending.

Wow nothing like fighting your natural instincts when it comes to attraction. Matt and Summer were hot, really well they were in the Bahamas. History aside they still couldn’t leave each other alone. I loved how Aubrey expresses the attraction between the two and give and take that ensures. The drama around the wedding and the other characters really made the story speed along as a fast pace. This is a highly recommended book in my view.

What a perfect story for Valentine’s Day. Love comes.in many different forms and this story shows a just a few, the biggest is the love of family.
Summer lived with Em and Matt growing up, became like family and would not want to do anything to hurt them. But the heart wants what the heart wants.
Years later Summer and Matt still struggle with their feelings for each other and the fear of hurting Em.
This story has twist and turns of of Summer and Matt trying to hid their relationship as well of the mystery of someone trying to harm Matt’s business.
This story will keep you on the edge of the seat as the characters navigate through their challenges.

Beautiful love story with lots of drama.
This is a really great story with wonderful characters. Summer & Emilia have been best friends since they were young & then like sisters when Emilia’s family took her in after her own parents left abandoning her. Once she turned 18 Emilia’s dad told her to go leaving her to fend for herself, she struggled through her life feeling like she was never worth anything or getting anywhere near her goal of becoming an actress. At Emilia’s wedding she met Matt again Emilia’s brother who had been off limits but she’d in love with him since they were young he didn’t know it though & left straight after their one night together which Emilia never knew about. The chemistry was still there between them & even though they knew it was wrong & it would kill Emilia they couldn’t stay away from each other Matt saying that they could keep things just physical between them until the wedding not seeing each again after it. Things were never going to be that easy this story was full of drama, secrets, funny, sweet, hot sexual chemistry but also emotional which had me in tears at parts. I loved this & it is definately a book that I recommend & will be reading again.

This was a cute story about Matt and Summer who were incredibly attracted to each other from a young age but because she was like family and Matt’s little sister’s best friend, he walked away. He was afraid of hurting her and his sister so he thought he was doing the right thing until 12 years later at his sister’s wedding week he runs into Summer again and she is not to happy seeing him yet those feelings and attraction still linger. This was a book full of steam, action, guilt, choosing love and happiness over years of family. Although at one point Matt’s sister did overreact and made some hasty decisions that made me mad that she would be selfish instead of understanding. I really enjoyed this story and was happy with the way it all worked out.
Summer is Matt’s sister best friend and their family took her in when her parents skipped out leaving her alone. The tragic death of Matt and Emilia’s mother left their family broken. Summer had a huge secret crush on Matt. Giving into her crush, Summer slept with Matt the night before he left for military. Matt left the next day without saying goodbye.
Now 10 years later Matt and Summer are attending the Valentine wedding of Matt’s sister Emilia. Matt sees Summer for the first time when he finds her dancing naked in his hotel room, thanks to a mix up with hotel booking them the same room number.
This is just the beginning of the book. There are many twists and turns the week before the wedding. One thing is for sure and that is Matt and Summer still have feelings for each other, but will they get their HEA? It was a book that you can out down.
I have said it before but Aubrey Wright just keeps getting better and this is another one of her books that you won’t want to put down. In addition to receiving and ARC copy I will be purchasing a copy to have on my shelf. It’s just that good.

I really enjoyed this forbidden best friend’s brother romance, there is plenty of drama and intrigue in this story. I loved the chemistry between Summer and Matt, loved their story and ending..
Perfect read for the season of love, unrequited love or so Matthew and Summer had thought until the magic that is Bahamas happening and there was no stopping the unstoppable.
Emotional read that will have you turning the pages frantically to see where it will all end. Some hair-raising moments as Matt’s business interferes in his sister’s wedding, shocking revelations and exciting escapades.

Aubrey Wright did it again!! I stumbled on to this author at the end of last year and every book I have read so far I loved! She has the ability to create these complex characters that suck you into the story!
Summer and Matt spent a night together before he left for the armed services, even though Summer promised her best friend (Emilia) that she wouldn’t sleep with her brother. 12 years later, Emilia is getting married and both Summer and Matt are part of the wedding party and they are forced to spend the next week participating in a series of wedding themed activities. Initially they try to fight their attraction but soon find themselves caught up in stolen moments, even though they know they shouldn’t. Summer needs to stay focused, teach dance lessons for the wedding and collect a paycheck from Emilia so she can afford a program, Matt needs to focus on keeping his work issues away from his sister’s wedding and Summer. When Matt’s work life crosses into his personal life and past secrets come to light, relationships will be tested.
I both loved and hated Matt at times, like I loved when he was pure alpha male saying Summer was his and he was claiming her but I hated when he kept saying it was just physical. Every time they both said it was just physical I wanted to die a little, like they obviously had chemistry and they were great together but they kept fighting their feelings. Summer was hilarious and I loved pretty much everything about her! I especially loved her internal dialogue, maybe because I felt it reflected the kind I have myself? Either way she had me laughing out loud at times!
The plot was fun and suspenseful at times and it was well written. As a younger sister I will say I was slightly upset with Emilia for asking her best friend to promise not to sleep with her brother but at the same time I’m sure 18 year old me in that situation would have done something similar.
I definitely recommend this book and this author!

Summer hooked up with her BFs brother Matt twelve years ago. They didn’t end well, he joined the military and moved on. Summer is too into him right away, as they are in the Bahamas for his sister’s wedding. But his past in getting in the way. Matt was pretty arrogant.

This book is about an old forbidden crush between Summer and Matt. Summer is best friends with Emila, who happens to have Matt for a brother. Summer had a very difficult child hood to say the least. Emila found her forever with Scoot and planned a destination wedding with Summer being her MOH. Matt of course would be at the wedding, and it had been 12 years since Summer has seen him. I loved this couple so much, he was not the normal man whore you read about even though lots of the women wanted him. He only had eyes for Summer, Summer only had eyes for Matt even though he broke her heart when he left to go into the military. Matt is in the business of personal security. He has some men that wants what he has and he will not sell, needless to say danger might be in the book. When Emila finds out the they slept together she kicked her out of the wedding and sent her packing back to the mainland. This book does have a great HEA. I loved this story.
