Domnall (Immortal Highlander, Clan Mag Raith Book 1): A Scottish Time Travel Romance by Hazel Hunter is a Time Travel, Ancient World Historical, Paranormal Romance. The story of Domnall and Jenna is the first story of Hazel Hunter’s new series and you shouldn’t miss it! Well-written with a fascinating storyline and amazing characters had me hooked from page one! Once again Hazel Hunter proves what a great author she is! I voluntarily received an arc and this is my honest review.
Love the whole series, you cannot put them down once you start
Well written. Love the characters. Real attention getter. A good happily ever after story.
I love this book, but then I love all of Hazel Hunters books!!
Great
Love the time travel highlander, challenging to imagine living in another time and place
One of the best time travel books I’ve read
Hazel Hunter’s work has become an automatic buying since I read her first Immortal Highlander series.
This first book in a new series was very different from the two previous, it is a big clue game, about who is whom, and what purpose everyone has.
The story is probably set at the same time period as the last series, as two protagonists from the Skaravan clan are mentioned in it.
Like for all her highlander warriors, they are a group of five, each with its own past, secrets and guilt. But here, for some unknown reasons, they have no recognition of why they were changed and how it happened.
This first book focuses on Domnall, the Mag Raith headman, when he discovers a very naked and amnesic woman with a tattoo matching his.
Jenna is only sure of one thing, her name and nothing else. Everything around her is different, people and landscape but she is drawn for some very obscure reasons to Domnall even if they just meet.
This book is full of details, cues and hints but each will interlock with another in time, plus it introduces every new character with some insights about whom they are as the story is told from plenty points of view.
And each will have its own story.
As for the vilains, they are ugly evil creatures helped by greedy persons.
The story ends on a HFN, the main couple having solved their own conundrum but each member of the group has one trial awaiting him until he finds his own HEA, but the plot will continue in the next book, with a new duet but we will get to learn more about the Mag Raith men, their women and the Sluath demons.
Once I started this adventure there was no putting the the book down.
Jenna had only one thought in her head my name is Jenna Cameron that was all she had to hold onto because she awoke in Scotland naked with no other memories. It was a good thing that Domnall found her. He couldn’t believe his eyes because it was the same spot 12 centuries before he and his men awoke and she had his same glyphs on her back as he had on his arm.
His people had once been the pritani and had battle spirits to guide them . But one they were taken they battle spirits, there origami marks, there people. Now they have these’s glyphs and done know how they got them or what they mean.
The druids tell them only the gods could
Wow what a story and new bad guys! I loved it it’s full of action, mystery, drama, and so much more. The characters are so amazing you can’t help but just fall into the story.
It’s a must read! Don’t miss it
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Once again Ms. Hunter has given us the start of what promises to be a great series. This time around, the setting will be 14th century Scotland. Wonderful characters are introduced along with a new enemy. After reading Jenna and Domnall’s story, I can’t wait for the next installment.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Dark times ahead
Firstly, I have to state I have never read a time travel romance and I haven’t indulged in a Highlander book since I was a teenager. That said I did have to read a little slower initially to get the gist of the language and it’s differences but once I did I was off
Jenna wakes up in the 14th Century and is found by Domnall. Unfortunately, she doesn’t remember much about her life before waking up where she did, but she does remember she was an architect! Both her and Domnall are taken with each other and as they try to discover more about her past, it unravels more dangers than either expected.
A great story and I look forward to Mael’s next Thank you to Hazel for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review.
Jenna Cameron fell through time and space only to land in the Scottish highlands, naked and marked. She has no memory of who she is or how she got there.
He saw her fall and was there to rescue her. His name is Domnall mag Raith. What happened to her, also happened to him, only twelve centuries earlier! Not only had they both escaped the grove of stars, but they also share the same ink glyphs. You know this is not an accident.
Their journey is filled with mystery, evil and passion! The story is flawless and packed with surprises and revelations that will keep readers attached long into the night. Luckily, this is the first in a new series and has me looking forward to many more hours of enjoyment as we uncover the stories about these mysterious Pritani men and their women.
I received an ARC of this book and am posting an honest review based on the work presented. Fabulous story, wonderful characters and thoroughly entertaining right to the end. I am anxiously looking forward to the next book in the series. Not to be missed, a real five star treat.
Well-written storyline and strong, characters, with action, intrigue, danger and romance, make this an awesome start to the new series! Domnall and Jenna are both strong characters who must work together to defeat the sluagh. This book kept me turning the pages right until the end, it was so exciting. I highly recommend this story to time travelling Highland lovers everywhere.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The author has written many great time travel romances and this new series is a great addition.
It is a great read for those who enjoy historical romances with a twist. There is plenty of action and romance and a dangerous enemy to keep it all very exciting.
I liked the characters and enjoyed the story and would recommend it.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
This book was hard to get going because everyone is so secretive. Once it got going and the secrets are known it was really good.
It is been along time since I read this book but I remembered I totally enjoyed it there’s only one booking or series that I haven’t been excited about
I like it
To fully enjoy this book you would need the other books to tie the story together …
This book gets 4 stars because of too many details in the intimate encounters, Otherwise, I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the story line so much that I immediately went looking for books 2 and 3 in this series. I was disappointed to learn I have to wait until September for the 4th installment.
