This was a great conclusion to this spiritual journey and war! After defeating the demons and ensuring her family’s safety, Audrey feels like she can finally settle into the after life until Logan is kidnapped. In order to save the man she loves, she and her friends have to battle their way through Hell, but the consequences could be dire. The descriptions of Hell were intensely vivid and I felt like I was on this journey with the characters. Without giving away spoilers, I honestly saw this humongous twist coming from the start, but I was still overly emotional about it. There were utterly heartbreaking moments, but I’m so glad that there was a HEA to Wrap it all up.
*I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
It’s been three days since I’ve finished this book and I’m still unsure what to say. o_O
Well, I guess the first place would be is that the author definitely knew how to throw in a good gut puncher all throughout the book, BUT especially that last quarter of the book. I. Did. Not. See. It. Coming. I think I struggled wrapping my mind around everything just as much as Audrey.
However, that ending was absolutely beautiful! It was very much different then what I thought when first starting Dominion. (Goodness, I would say the whole series!) It was perfect in so many ways and definitely cried at that moment and leading up to it.
I will warn: If you think you know what’s going to happen, the author most likely will surprise you immensely and leave you reeling but know it will be worth it. Brace yourself with a box of tissues.
This last book in the series had a lot of surprising twists and back and forth turns. I’m hoping that there will be more side stories after this because there are so many characters I would love to read more about. Kaitlin for one. And Morgan. Romona too. And what about Logan’s parents? This was a truly fantastic journey in which I have met lots of new friends. I don’t like having to say goodbye to them but I have enjoyed getting to know them.
Wow
I love this particular book in the series. What a great jump. A reunion in more ways than one. Well written and vivid. Inspiring and endearing. Beautiful characters with beautiful stories of their own embedded within.
Emotional rollercoaster.
Never in my life have I ever been more tempted to leave a review at just that. I mean, how does one even find the words to describe all the emotions that this book just put me through? And how does one even start to process the fact that these mind-blowing series have just come to an end? To me, there have never been two words that could describe a book better than those, but, I guess I’ll try to explain myself a bit further. Let me put it this way: Dominion’s going to make you laugh and it’s going to make you cry. You’re going to love it and you’re going to hate it (like, if you’re reading the e-book version, you’re going to wish you’d have bought the paperback just so you could throw it against the wall of the room you’re in, only to, moments later, go, pick it up from the floor, and continue reading it because you just need to know what happens next); you’re gonna want to jump into the book and shake some sense into Audrey (only to later realize that that’s exactly how you and would have/actually react most of the time); and by the time you’ve reached a certain point that’s kind of nearing the end and you think that you (and the characters) have already gone through so much, the author’s going to throw you a curveball that you Never Saw Coming and that’s going to leave you like “No Way! This can’t be happening!”, “mmm what the what did just happen?” and “I don’t need sleep, I need answers!” mode on, all rolled into one.
With all that being said, I can’t truly recommend these series enough. The character-development, world-building, and just the author’s ah-mazing writing skills make for a few of the many reasons why you’ll thoroughly fall in love with these books. (And did I mention they are YA Christian Fiction?!) Enjoy!
