I built myself up from nothing. A product of the foster care system, I learned early on how to fight hard to get what I want. Whether it was starting my first company in college, earning my first billion, or buying my first professional sports team, I know how to get what I want, when I want it.Until now.Willow Monahan is fierce, independent, and hot as hell. She also takes great pleasure in … pleasure in shutting down my advances. The younger sister of one of my star players, Willow intrigues me to my very core. And while she may have willingly given me her body, she is hesitant to offer up more. Now I’m on a mission to find out why.
I’ve decided to approach my desire for Willow like I’ve approached much of my life; with persistence, determination, and a whole lot of that Dominik Carlson alpha charm. Buying a hockey expansion team, building the Arizona Vengeance from the ground up, and bringing home a championship may prove to be an easier feat than winning Willow’s heart.
But I’ve never been a quitter.
Willow Monahan… I’m coming for you.

I loved how quickly Sawyer grabbed my attention with the fast build of the relationship between Dominik and Willow. Talk about being explosive! I just love how Sawyer writes and I really enjoyed this book in audio format. I liked how Dominik and Willow aren’t the typical H/h characters, has a bit of a role reversal, so it was a nice change. Haha I loved how Willow would say to Dominik “But you’re a millionaire!” Dominik always replies back “Billionaire.” lol it was a bit of humor for me. I look forward to more in this series.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Wow! Just WOW! Best dominant male of 2020!
Dominic Carlson is the hottest most eligible billionaire in the area. He is also very dominant in the bedroom.
He owns a basketball team and the Arizona Vengence hockey team.
He is known for his skills in business and in the bedroom.
He doesn’t do relationships and he had his heart set on one Willow Monahan.
She also happens to be the sister of one of his players.
Willow is a photo journalist who goes into war torn countries and isn’t interested in relationships. She doesn’t even have a home much less a boyfriend.
She has been hurt in the past and she keeps men at a distance.
When he keeps pursuing her, she finally breaks down and decides to have some fun.
As things start to hear up, they both start going down a path that neither of them planned.
I absolutely love this series and the Cold Fury Series.
I can’t get enough of them.
I love the hockey plays in this book and the characters have become like a family to me.
Well done! Well done!
Dominik is the sixth book in the Arizona Vengeance series by the talented Sawyer Bennett. I have been waiting for Dominik’s story for a long time! There was just something about this man that called to me. But I never thought I would fall so hard and fast for him! He’s worked his way up from nothing. Overcome so much, started his own company, became a billionaire and now he owns a hockey team. A winning hockey team. He’s not a ruthless business man though. He actually has a heart and puts his players before his bottom line. He picked this team, and his guys are quickly becoming his family. Especially the first line players. Well, except for Dax because Dominik wants his sister, Willow. As soon as he met her he wanted her and she wanted nothing to do with him. Except in the bedroom. Then she was gone. He’s not used to chasing after women, but there’s something about Willow and he intends to get her. He hasn’t gotten this far in life by giving up. Willow knows that if she gets too far in with Dominik he will break her heart. She can’t go there again. She loves her job as a photojournalist, the traveling, the adrenaline rush. She’s not going to change for any man. But Dominik is persistent and since she’s going to be in town watching her brother and the team play, what’s the harm in a little fun? The sexy kind. Dominik wants more than a quick physical encounter. He wants to talk to her, get to know her and just be with her. He’s going to have to fight for every minute though. And she doesn’t make it easy. Dominik didn’t have family growing up and he wants that. With his team and with Willow. What happens with Dominik puts his heart on the line? Will he get everything he wants? Oh this man! Seriously, I can’t even with him. He’s so sexy and sweet and commanding. I love him so much! I love how he teases Dax about wanting his sister and how he and the first line just get along so well. They are a family and he needed that in his life!! Overall, I laughed, cried, got hot and bothered and cheered alongside them during every game! I need more Dominik!
Audio: Christian Fox is one of my favorite male narrators and he was everything I wanted Dominik to be! His voice just does it for me. I love the way he uses his voice to show emotion, to whisper, to laugh and joke. He enhanced the story for me! Erin is always great, but she seemed to bring her A game for Willow. The sassy and sweet came through her voice. Christian and Erin are the perfect pairing.
Dominick was worth the wait! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
If any man on this earth could tame our Willow… it’s Dominik. There are Fiery Hot and Dominik is a master at dominating our girl! The heat is delivered to perfection by Christian Fox and Erin Mallon. This was my most anticipated story for 2020, Dominik & Willow’s story was worth the wait! I need more of them.
We get a little cameo by our girl Kat Mizera, another amazing hockey author, so make sure you listen for it! Ekkk!
Domink’s story was one that I knew we would get eventually because this charismatic owner of the Arizona Vengeance is one person who gets what he wants and he has wanted Dax’s sister, Willow, for a while now. Boy oh boy has she been putting up a fight…..but as you can guess all her running has come to an end, FINALLY!!!
This was a great addition to the series and if you have read any of the past books you know what a great guy Domink is and we find out so much about his life in this book and it was a little sad, but it was mostly rewarding. I loved that he gave so much of his earnings to help others, and he also gave his time which is a big turn on.
Willow is a very independent woman but she doesn’t mind giving up control in the bedroom which makes things between her and Domink so much more explosive for her.
I don’t give spoilers in my reviews so I wont, but I can tell you we get a peek at a mission that Jameson Security was working on.
This book can be read as a standalone but I would suggest you read the full series in order because Dominik is a major presence in each of the books.
Happy Reading!!!
Narrators are awesome. Loved them both. They fit the characters great, sounded great, and the quality was excellent. Definitely recommend.
This story is a no strings romance situation that turns into more; which isn’t my favorite scenario in romances, but the story was entertaining the whole time and the writing was really good. Plus, the hockey stuff was fun! Willow and Dominik have some major passion between them; their connection is on fire. Hot and steamy! There’s some sweetness in there too; mostly from Dominik. He’s a total sweetie. They both are the types that don’t do commitment, but he’s pretty much going along with it because that’s what Willow wants; she’s the type that uses sex to not talk about feelings. She had some heartbreak in the past, so that’s where her issues stem from. I don’t like that her issues are based off of one loser man; way to let some jerk dictate how you live your life. She’s strong and independent in the other aspects of her life, but not with truly following her heart. Both characters are likable and their banter is entertaining. They fit well together as a couple; they have a heartfelt connection.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read in this series so far! I like how the author does the hockey aspects and the friendship between the main players on the team. I do wish their was a bit more to the ending, but I liked how things eventually play out. A fully entertaining story!
~~ 5 TRIUMPHANT STARS! ~~
DOMINIK left me breathless in this sixth exhilarating installment of Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series!
PREMISE:
Dominik Carlson was left orphaned at nine years old and grew up in the foster care system, but his difficult upbringing did not stop him from making his mark in the world. Failure has never been an option for him and he learned to fight hard for whatever he wanted. Among this tall, dark and gorgeous self-made billionaire’s successes is ownership of the Arizona Vengeance Hockey team, and even though he is no pushover, his kind, caring, hands on approach has made him very popular among the players. Too bad he’s not scoring the same kind of points with Willow Monahan, the younger sister of one of his hockey stars.
After two explosive encounters with Willow, Dominik soon realizes he wants so much more of her, but the beautiful, stubborn, globe-trotting photojournalist is playing hard to get and has no interest in commitment. However, as far as Dominik is concerned…the chase is on! As he doggedly pursues Willow, his potent masculine charm ultimately proves impossible to resist and she eventually agrees to a no-strings attached dalliance. Still, as real feelings spark between them, this bossy alpha won’t settle for anything less than her whole heart and soul. And he has a strategy in place to charm the pants off her and break down her defenses, kiss by breathtaking kiss. But they both have a lot at stake as forbidden boundaries are crossed. Will the Arizona Vengeance’s winning streak also extend to Dominik’s relentless pursuit of the elusive Miss Willow… or in the final face off will this hopelessly smitten tycoon be forced to claim defeat?
MY MUSINGS:
After all the delectable buildup to Dominik and Willow’s story in the previous AV installments, my adrenaline was pumping mightily for their long awaited book. And holy moly did Sawyer Bennett blow us away! DOMINIK is by far my FAVORITE story in the series to date! It is positively teeming with heartfelt emotion, scorching heat, thrilling action sequences, and one utterly charismatic caveman alpha who will SWEEP YOU OFF YOUR FEET.
From page one, I was hooked by this high octane story. The chemistry between Willow, a beautiful, fiery, fiercely independent career woman, and Dominik, a deliciously domineering, good-natured and mesmerizing mega billionaire is off the charts! These two oozed such combustible sparks and palpable sexual tension, they truly whipped me up into a frenzy! And gah… talk about a strong, debonair, take charge hero who is MERCILESS in his pursuit of Dax’s baby sister! I love how Dominik refuses to take no for an answer. The odds are definitely stacked against these two but when their primal passion proves unstoppable, it’s GAME ON!
But this devilishly sexy, utterly swoon-worthy hero sure has his hands full staking a claim on the bewitching, headstrong beauty who secretly covets him as much as he wants her yet still challenges him at every turn and leaves him salivating for more! Willow has been burnt badly in the love department before and does everything to guard her heart against this man who is dangerous to her in every way. But soon realizes she’s fighting a losing battle as Dominik continues to step up his game and break down her defenses with his potent animal magnetism and selfless heart of pure gold! Risking her life in dangerous war zones as a photojournalist seems far less perilous than the threat that this man poses to her psyche. Can love trump her worst fears?
As with all of Ms. Bennett’s books, the drama, emotion and sizzingly erotic sex scenes were beautifully intertwined. Sure these two fireballs share a smoldering attraction but as the book progresses we come to see that Willow and Dominik’s bond runs so much deeper than just carnal animalistic lust.
And, of course, the riveting hockey storyline, which is chock full of entertaining banter between the unapologetically macho players, as well as a plethora of pulse pounding suspense as Arizona Vengeance enter the playoffs, added a hefty dose of high stakes excitement into the mix. All of which paves the way for the pinnacle game, which has them facing off with the almighty Cold Fury team for the coveted championship Cup (and oh what an unforgettable crossover that was!) Plus, it’s always a delight to revisit previous couples from the series.
As for the romantic denouement? Well, let’s just say that Dominik and Willow’s HEA was HARD EARNED. Because their very future definitely hangs in the balance in the heart palpitating climax, but when victory flag is finally waved, it’s SUCH SWEET TRIUMPH!
Can’t wait for the next installment in this wildly addictive series!
A FIVE STAR MUST READ!
Read: 2/20/2020
Dominik was the sixth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series.
Dominik Carlson was the owner of the NHL Arizona Vengeance team. We met him previously as a very rich, smart and shrewd business man; yet he was also hands on and caring with his team. He was gorgeous, alpha, intelligent, confident and a respected leader. He was a playboy, not committed to one person, but committed to the one person at the time they were with him. Work came first and no woman kept his attention for very long.
Willow Monahan was the sister to NHL Vengeance player, Dax (book four). She was beautiful, fun, independent, a successful photojournalist and totally carefree. She too was a player but purposely stayed away from Dominik, other than their first meeting. Dominik wasn’t finished with her and pursued her doggedly.
Dominik was definitely a game of cat and mouse. Dominik grew up in the foster system and learned early how to get what he wanted. He was worth billions and nothing ever stood in his way. Ever. He still didn’t believe in forever, but he wanted more for now.
Bennett also included a deep dive into hockey. I loved how it intertwined into the story. It was such a huge part of both Dominik and Willow’s lives that it made sense. It also provided additional depth to the plot. As a huge hockey fan myself – and with a team that has the ability to win the cup this year – I loved the hockey scenes.
Additionally, Bennett included the rivalry with her other NHL series, the Cold Fury. Who doesn’t love a friendly rivalry? It wasn’t necessary to have read that series to follow; however, through Dominik, she set the stage for the next book in their series, Rafe.
Finally, I also loved how Bennett weaved in the Jameson Force Security series through details from book three, Code Name: Heist, that left a cliff hanger in preparation for book four, Code Name: Hacker. It wasn’t necessary to have read the series previously, but it provided insight as I was already invested in that series and can’t wait for the next books. It was interesting so see how Bennett crossed the two series.
All in all, I enjoyed the storyline, the characters and the hockey family. And although Bennett crossed over multiple series with Dominik, it was one consistent plot that could be read easily within this series alone if necessary. It was well written, well developed, intriguing, sexy and fun. It also provided a great segue to the next book in the series, Wylde, and I can’t wait!
Dominik (Arizona Vengeance #6) was another great read by Sawyer Bennett. Dominik grew up in the foster care system. He fought hard to become a successful billionaire. With the money he made, he bought a professional sports team. Dominik has always got everything he wants that is until he meets Willow. She is the younger sister of one of the players of Dominik’s sports team. She also enjoys shutting down all of Dominik’s advances. I really enjoyed Dominik and Willow’s relationship although there were many times that I wanted to yell at them both. I can’t wait to read more by Sawyer Bennett.
What a hawt performance by Christian Fox and Erin Mallon! Their voices put my head in this sexy love story between Dominik and Willow.
Dominic and Willow both have issues forming lasting relationships but know they want each other and when things become too touchy/feely Willow tends to hide or run. Will Dominik gives chase with a vengeance to win this woman or let it all go…Loved it!!
Having been with this series from the beginning, I already knew going in that Dominik was an amazing man. I also knew there was this powerful pull between him and Willow and I was so excited to get the inside scoop.
And, not at all surprising, they were scorching hot. Their physical chemistry sparked and flared and steamed up my kindle. It took a bit for their emotional connection to fire up, but if you’re looking for a powerful punch of heat: Dominik and Willow have you covered.
Full disclosure: this type of story is challenging for me. When the entire connection between the hero and heroine is physical. When sex is the main communication tool and the fuel source for their chemistry I struggle connecting to the romance because I am here for the banter and the deep, angsty emotional connection. And generally speaking, it isn’t until those two things are present and established that physical connection becomes meaningful to me.
So, this book is hot for sure. Dominik and Willow have a sort of blistering physical chemistry that keeps pulling them toward each other even when their fear of feelings wants to keep them apart. And there’s an emotional component for sure, but by the time it came into play, I already felt like I was outside of their relationship and it didn’t resonate with me as deeply as I wanted it to. I felt like the sexy bits were shown to me, and the emotional bits were told to me and because of that my heart never fully attached to Willow and Dominik.
That said, there are plenty of special moments inside this book. There is some fun series cross-over that will surely feel rewarding to loyal readers. And, while the romance isn’t my favorite of the series, there were some pretty emotional moments going on within the team itself that made my heart come alive for Dominik (and the rest of the hockey gang). This is a special team and I love every moment I get to spend with them and I cannot wait to see what this unlikely band of brothers has in store for me next!
Another quick but no less enjoyable story in the Arizona Vengeance series.
After Tacker’s story, which I had been desperate to read, I wasn’t sure if another story would hold my interest but after being teased about Dominik and Willow’s interactions, I knew reading on was not an option!
Willow was a really intriguing character especially as she appears to be the only woman to be not interested in Dominik or his good looks, wealth, success and charismatic ways. Willow’s reticence to have anything other than the odd one night stand with Dominik perplexes him and the more Willow ignores him, the more he chases after her.
Being a photojournalist and travelling to some of the most dangerous places on earth, Willow lives her life on a knife-edge but when she returns home to the US, she agrees to meet up with Dominik again. However, Willow has one thing on her mind and that’s the opposite of what Dominik wants from her.
With Willow back on home soil, Dominik knows this is his only chance to win her over but when he finds out she has been badly burned in a relationship before he accepts that in order to make her fall for him he must take his time. That is until he doesn’t!
I really enjoyed Willow and Dominik’s connection and I must admit to being a sucker for Dominik all through this series. I became slightly irritated when Dominik’s willingness to take his time with Willow did an about-turn but even then, with emotion and passion driving him forward and in the heat of the moment, he does the opposite of his intentions but in such a sweet way. Fortunately, Willow finds herself in a situation which makes her re-evaluate her life and Dominik is able to fly in to save the day.
This is the first story in this series that I’ve listened to via Audible and whilst the experience was enjoyable, I think I prefer reading these stories at my own pace. The narrators, whilst clearly experienced, seemed to rush through their words and were almost gabbling at times. Even slowing down the talking speed didn’t help, sadly.
I am so pleased to see that there is yet another book planned in this amazing series as I am in no way ready to be done with the Arizona Vengeance.
Self-made billionaire Dominik Carlson owns the new expansion hockey team Arizona Vengeance. Willow Monahan is a freelance photographer as well as the sister of one of Dominik’s players, Dax Monahan. Dominik always gets what he wants and what he wants is Willow. After they spend a couple nights together, Willow avoids Dominik’s phone calls and texts for a few months. When Willow decides to take some time off to watch the Vengeance play in the playoffs, Dominik is determined to see Willow again.
Being an independent woman and burned by a previous relationship, Willow is reluctant to start something with Dominik. When she accepts his dinner invitation, she decides that spending time with him is really what she wants as long as they have an understanding that it’s no strings attached. As they spend more and more time together, their relationship shifts into something more than just a casual hookup. They are explosive together!
It’s a great story. I loved Dominik’s character and Christian Fox’s narration made him come to life.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Willow is scared….scared to commit…..scared to do long term…scared to love. Dominik is a loner from necessity, but finds he likes. even loves being with Willow. An out of the blue proposal, a stunned no, a job and a sneak speak into Jameson force later and we have a Vegas wedding. Oh and Hockey!!! This book is amazing……the back and forth between these two is out of this world.
The Arizona Vengeance is hands-down my favorite on-going series. I LOVE the Arizona Vengeance team and their significant others and the familiar secondary characters that we’ve followed throughout the books. Every new book is a welcome chance to hang-out with my favorite people and in Dominik we switch gears a little bit, focusing on the team’s owner rather than one of the hockey players.
Dominik Carlson was introduced in the first book of the series, and we see glimpses of him in all the books, often coming in to lend a helping hand. We know him to be a kind, understanding man and despite being a multi-billionaire, he’s very down-to-earth and enjoys casually hanging out with the team. He met Willow Monahan (she’s Dax Monahan’s sister) early in the series, and they ended up hooking up that first night and she continues to intrigue him. But, Willow’s job takes her around the world and she loves her nomadic lifestyle.
I love the chemistry between Willow and Dominik and their sex scenes were HOT HOT HOT! These two set my headphones of fire (I listened to the audiobook)! But, it’s their banter and conversations that made me love them. I really enjoyed the opposites-attract dynamic they had going on. Watching slowly Willow open up to Dominik was so sweet that was why when Dominik just sprung the thing he did I screamed because it was too fast, too soon! And then how he reacted afterwards! Why, Dominik, why?!? I wanted to shake Dominik who, until then, was quickly overtaking Erik as my favorite hero in the series. I still love Dominik and he did come through in the end. He’s currently number 2 in my mental rankings of favorite heroes in the series though.
Like I mentioned, I listened to Dominik on audio and it was EXCELLENTLY narrated by Christian Fox and Erin Mallon. They were absolutely perfect as Dominik and Willow–I love their performances and they definitely added to my enjoyment in the story. I highly recommend you listen to the audiobook edition of Dominik.
If you haven’t read any of the books in the Arizona Vengeance series, Dominik can be read as a standalone. If you have a little bit of time, I suggest at least reading Dax prior to Dominik since Dax is an important secondary character. Of course, reading the books in the series in order will very much enhance your reading experience of Dominik so if you have time on your hands I highly recommend the entire series.
Been waiting a long time for Dominic. He did not disappoint! Sexy, alpha with a steel outer shell and soft middle. He is formidable exactly as he has been portrayed in the background of the other books in this series. Did not bond well with the female, Willow but the story truly is unexpected and Dominic is present in every single page. He is worth the 5 stars!!
Have been eagerly anticipating Dominik’s story, loved how very alpha he turned out to be! Some twists and turns, scorching hot chemistry and love all the side characters. An enjoyable read.
Fabulous Story & Audible Listen Captivating & Heartfelt!
Dominik
Arizona Vengeance, Book 6
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: Christian Fox, Erin Mallon
Sawyer Bennett delivers another outstanding novel in her “Arizona Vengeance” series. I was thrilled to hear that Dominik was going to get his own story, he is the team’s owner and has appeared and played a key part in earlier books. He has a heart of gold and takes interest not only in his team but the players too. His team is more than a team it is like family, there is great chemistry amongst the players, they have each others backs and you see that even more in this book. It was great to learn more about Dominik Carlson, where he came from and how he got to where he is now. Willow Monahan is a strong, independent woman, she loves her job as a photo journalist, assignments take her all over the world, sometimes placing her in dangerous situations. Her brother Dax plays for the Arizona Vengeance and she has caught the eye of Dominik Carlson. Dominik tries to learn more about he does not want to share any info about his sister with him. Willow is not interested in anything more than a fling, she has had her heartbroken in the past and does not want that to happen again and Dominik looks like a heartbreaker. I loved these two together, they are perfect for each other and the chemistry between them is smoking hot. I also loved how it all plays out for them, and when the realization hit her how she really felt about him, was a such a heartfelt scene. This book is plotted out nicely, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, a whole lot of heart and emotions, all leading to an amazing love story. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another fabulous story & the emotional rollercoaster ride. It is always great to hear from and catch up on the characters from earlier books too. I was rooting for the team during their championships. I am looking forward to hear more from this awesome series!
I listened to the Audible edition, Christian Fox and Erin Mallon are talented narrators and voice actors. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. Erin Mallon’s take on Willow was spot on, she sound as I pictured her, fierce. She was awesome performing the voices of the secondary characters too. Christian Fox’s Dominik was the right blend of Alpha and heart. Both are fabulous storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this awesome listen
This is the sixth book in the Arizona Vengeance series. This is Dominik’s story and is one that I have been waiting for. Dominik is a self made billionaire and owner of the vengeance. He had had a tough life but has risen above it all to become crazy successful. Willow is Dax’s sister and Dominik is enamored with her. Will she give him a chance? Will Dominik get his happily ever after?
