I built myself up from nothing. A product of the foster care system, I learned early on how to fight hard to get what I want. Whether it was starting my first company in college, earning my first billion, or buying my first professional sports team, I know how to get what I want, when I want it.Until now.Willow Monahan is fierce, independent, and hot as hell. She also takes great pleasure in … pleasure in shutting down my advances. The younger sister of one of my star players, Willow intrigues me to my very core. And while she may have willingly given me her body, she is hesitant to offer up more. Now I’m on a mission to find out why.
I’ve decided to approach my desire for Willow like I’ve approached much of my life; with persistence, determination, and a whole lot of that Dominik Carlson alpha charm. Buying a hockey expansion team, building the Arizona Vengeance from the ground up, and bringing home a championship may prove to be an easier feat than winning Willow’s heart.
But I’ve never been a quitter.
Willow Monahan… I’m coming for you.

This poor book is a victim of me having a very bad reading dip. To be honest, I actually started reading this book in order to get through another book I felt I needed to finish. I would allow myself two chapters of this book if I’d read one of the other book. I know, I know…I need to learn to put a book down when it’s not working for me. There was a particular reason I felt I needed to finish that one, so used this one to get me through. Therefore, this story wasn’t able to totally capture me as most of the others in this series have. But it was an amazing book. I know that because it got me through. I just wish I could have read this book without interruption.
Of course, I’ve been waiting to read about Dominik and Willow for a while now. There interactions, brief as they were, in the other books spoke of their obvious chemistry. This is the story of two lone wolves, people not used to having to answer to anyone else, finding themselves drawn together. Sure, Willow has a tight family…but she doesn’t answer to them. She makes sure of that by keeping certain things to herself. In fact, Dominik admits to himself that he needs Willow long before Willow admits how drawn she is to Dominik on more than a sexual level.
For some reason, Willow’s resistance to a real relationship and her reasons seemed a bit shallow. I don’t think I’m explaining that correctly. She has a very good reason to keep her heart closed off from romantic entanglements, but I didn’t feel her actual pain from that incident from earlier in her life. More like it hurt her ego than broke her heart.
There’s a definite and intense fire between these two. I love how the head strong and always in control Willow is a totally different person when it comes to sex. Which works out well since Dominik always is such an alpha male. Yet he learns that, out of the bedroom, he has to cede to Willow once in a while. He is able to find the give and take. Again, it seems Willow is the holdout here.
I love Willow and Dominik together, but I’m not a huge Willow fan. I found her to be a bit selfish when it came to certain things. I like her, just don’t love her. But Dominik is the perfect match for her to keep her calm in certain situations.
One thing that I absolutely loved was a small crossover between this series and this author’s Jameson Force Security series. It makes me eager for a certain story in that series so I can see how it all plays out.
Although I had my issues as stated at the beginning, I know how I would have felt about this story had I been in a clearer state of mind. Therefore, I’m not taking it out on this book that it took me longer than you would think to get through it all. Like all of the other hockey stories by Sawyer Bennett, this was sexy and fun.

I have been anticipating this one for quite a while. I loved everything about this story. I have been looking forward to Domink since I read the others in this series. He is great. I love his story, I love the back story. I can’t wait for more. Arizona Vengeance is one of my favorite Hockey series, and I read them a lot.
Y’all…this is the moment where all I have to say is, Sawyer Bennett is killing me! 🙂 [in a good way!!!]
If you’ve read/listened to the rest of the Arizona Vengence series, then you’ve already met Dominik, this very rich, insanely generous, alpha of a team owner (if you haven’t read the others, I HIGHLY recommend it, although it’s not required). Christian Fox brings him to life in such an amazing way, that you’re left wanting more and more of him.
Enter Willow, sister of Dax, carefree, nomad of a photojournalist, sweet as can be (and is there anyone more perfect for that than Erin Mallon?!). Willow knocks Dominik off balance when she turns him dow repeatedly. However, Dominik won’t take not for an answer.
The amazing story of the inaugural year of the Arizona Vengence continues and this time, Bennett even loops in some extra stuff….stuff that is going to make you very sad this book ends…. 😉
Erin Mallon & Christian Fox did a phenomenal job with their brilliant perfomance!
What an amazing and outstanding read/listen Dominik was!! My most favorite of this series so far.
Now, I just finish listening to this fabulous audiobook, and OMG, Erin Mallon & Christian Fox did a phenomenal job of bringing this story to life. This brilliant narrators have the unique ability of drawing you in and making you part of the fantastic world the author had created.
My reviews are always spoiler free, so I won’t go into detail about this story; just know that this is the most touching, romantic, emotional, and passionate read/listen, in which our hero is the one invested in capturing his beloved’s heart without losing his domineering-alpha image. I just love Dominik so freaking much!
You guys won’t be disappointed when reading or listening to this flawless storytelling.
I loved, loved this story!! Dominik and Willow!! Swoons!! I’ve been looking forward to this story from the author and once again she does not disappoint they just get better and better!! I highly recommend!! The story keeps you reading from start to finish!!
Sawyer Bennett finally gave this Arizona Vengeance series fan the story she’s been waiting for…none other than Dominik Carlson. I have loved everything about this man since meeting him and even though we’ve learned a few details about this self-made man and witnessed how hands-on he is with his teams and his players, I wanted to get into Dominik’s head and see what drives him and how he went from being a kid in the foster care system to a man hellbent on making it own his own with hard work and determination.
While Dominik has had great success in accomplishing his goals in the business world and pretty much acquiring anything and everything that he’s wanted out of life, there’s one thing, or should I say one person, who he can’t seem to hold onto because she’s just as stubborn and tenacious as he is, which means it’s going to take his A Game in order to prove to Willow Monahan that he’s worth the risk.
Willow is as about as head strong as they come, and boy does she fight her feelings for Dominik, attempting to keep things causal, to fight him every step of the way for the ‘more’ that he decides he wants, because she unwilling to risk it. Sometimes I felt like she was a bit too over-the-top stubborn and that she was fighting a futile battle, but I understood that she would have to figure things out on her own and realize what she has with Dominik isn’t something she wants to give up.
Dominik and Willow’s relationship epitomizes the push and pull that occurs between two headstrong people who want the same things but are unwilling to admit it. These two battle one another for control because neither likes to feel off-balanced but when Dominik realizes that Willow’s worth it, he’ll do just about anything to keep her and man oh man was that fun to listen play out with two fantastic narrators in Christian Fox and Erin Mallon.
I seriously hope Sawyer Bennett never steps writing hockey sports romances; they’re some of my absolute favorite and will continue to be in the foreseeable future.
4 Poison Apples
Dominik is the sixth book in the Arizona Vengeance series and while it can be read/listened to as a stand alone, this reader/listener recommends reading the prior books to fully understand the “family” that is the Arizona Vengeance. The author does an excellent job in covering events from the prior books but I feel that you miss the entire picture if you haven’t read the prior books. I did really love how we were able to catch up on the prior characters and where they are now and loved the tie in with two of her other series, that just added to this wonderful story. Would of loved for more interaction with the Cold Fury team, that is my only wish but does in no way impact this story.
Erin Mallon is not a new to me narrator and I love how she can change her voice that you really feel as if she is multiple people. This is my first experience hearing Christian Fox and it will not be my last. These two narrators really brought the story to life with all the emotions. I loved how they would laugh as the character laughed or hear the sadness when the character would be sad.
I am looking forward to more from this author as well as these narrators.
******** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW ********
I cannot get enough of these hockey players! I don’t even know or watch hockey but when these audiobooks release, I have to have them! They’re mine! I was really excited about Dominik… he’s been noticeable more and more in the books and I find myself very endeared to him. He’s such a caring man, so sweet and thoughtful when it comes to the men and women on his team. He was refreshing and I just couldn’t get enough! Even when he was kicking women out of his bed, he seemed to care for them and not just a numbers man, wondering how much money each player, each employee can bring in. I loved Willow right off the bat! It’s always nice to have a woman bring an incredibly important man down a few pegs… especially when she continues to bring him to his knees! Eeek! I just couldn’t get enough of these two! Plus all those amazing secondary characters that we get to revisit after their books… adored it!
The narration was A-Maze-Ing! I mean, Erin Mallon is one of my top 5 favorite narrators. I adore the sound of her voice and how feminine she sounds while still being strong. She sounds just like I would envision Willow… strong, yet she has a crazy kind heart that she wears on her sleeve! Then we have Christian Fox playing Dominik! His voice is strong and deep. It’s just what I’d think a man so important would sound like… as cliché as that sounds. But Fox is still able to show us Dominik’s kind heart through his voice. He cares and that shows!
Dominik Carlson full embodiment of alpha charm. He is a man who has worked hard to build his life from nothing. Orphaned by age 11 Dominik has learned to rely on only himself. . When Dominik sees something, he wants he goes after it. Rarely is he unsuccessful. Now the owner of the new NHL expansion team on the cusp of the playoffs Dominik realizes he wants more. More is Willow Monahan. She is fiercely independent, living life on her terms being where she want to be when she wants to be there. Willow the younger sister of one of the Arizona Vengeance star players isn’t easily won over by the dazzling billionaire hockey team owner.
Dominik Carlson is a brilliant character. You see snippets of who is in the stories of the players of his team. He is the kind of guy we all want. He is willing to give money but also show up to help others. He is willing to get his hands dirty when needed. Dominik and Willow’s story shows you just how close the Vengeance Family is and how Dominik thinks of the team as his family. He has his players backs and cares deeply for them and their wellbeing.
Willow grew up surrounded by a loving family. With parents who care deeply for her and have given he a solid foundation to know love. But a failed relationship makes it hard for Willow to allow herself to fall completely for Dominik. She thinks that she can be happy with a purely physical relationship and prevent herself from falling in love. Can you really fight the power of love?
Many of us have had a relationship that causes us to need to guard our hearts a little more closely. Giving your heart completely to someone is scary. I love a strong male character. One who isn’t afraid to put his heart on the line and go for what he wants. But I also can relate to Willow and her apprehension in going all in with Dominik.
This story is sexy and funny on and off the ice. I love the glimpse of both characters from the Cold Fury Series and previous Arizona Vengeance books. While it can be read as a stand alone novel do yourself a favor is read ALL the others. You will find every book totally hot and swoon worthy. Sawyer Bennett has way of giving us the story we need from her characters. You will spend the entire time reading and cheer for Dominick and Willow. Could the person you love be more important than a historic run for the Stanley Cup? You do not have to know hockey to love these characters and stories, likely these stories will make you a hockey fan. Race for the Goal and pick up your copy Dominik!
Sawyer Bennett has done it again with Dominik. It is the 6th book in the Arizona Vengeance Series, but somehow she has created a world that is unique and I never want to leave it. I’ve been reading about the mysterious team owner, Dominik from the beginning of this series. I’ve been intrigued and knew his interest in Dax’s sister, Willow. But I never knew the lengths he would go to make her his.
She is strong, feisty and one who takes charge of her world. She gives Dominik a run for his money when it comes to pursuing her. Basically because she isn’t interested in the things he has to offer. She’s content with being single and doesn’t need strings attached. Then Dominik comes in and he’s more than just the team’s owner. He just might be more than she can handle.
I absolutely love the world Sawyer has created in this series as well as her Cold Fury series. This was a book of cross-overs to say. I’ve been a fan since the beginning, so seeing old people was well as new ones resurface, was pure delight for me. I NEED the next book in her Jamison Force Securities series too, as this one adds more details for what is happening there as well.
OMG! I am dying to get more books from Sawyer – all series. I can’t decide which one I need next after reading this amazing story.
PS – Erin Mallon and Christian Fox do an excellent job of narrating this brilliant story. I couldn’t put it down.
for the audio –
Dominik is not your typical millionaire, er billionaire. That is what made his chase of Willow so delightful. Willow is a strong and beautiful woman with talent that takes her into danger. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to turn Dominik down. I really enjoyed the two step tango that the Dominik and Willow did. Theirs was not a young or naïve love. They had real issues. It was a great story.
Christian Fox and Erin Mallon were a fantastic team making this story come to life. This is part of the Arizona Vengeance hockey series, however, it doesn’t have to be listened to in order.
Are you ready for you new Book Boyfriend? Grab hold of Dominik because he is everything and more!
He is dominate, sweet and vulnerable and one hell of a catch! Just ask Willow!
I enjoyed every moment of this story and how Dominik just needed to meet the right woman to show him what a relationship and love can be all about, but he had to show Willow too! They both are afraid of a committed relationship and it takes them a while to finally admit how they truly feel, but wow, it was so worth it in the end!
I had the added benefit of listening to the audio version of this book and these narrators definitely added to an already fantastic story!
I have been really excited to see how Dominik and Willow were going to unfold! I really enjoyed seeing how determined Dominik was to show Willow they can be so much more. I really liked to see the personal side of him and not just the owner. He really is such a caring man and will do anything and everything for people he cares about. Willow is a lot more gun shy about everything and really had to come to terms with their relationship in her own way. I really liked seeing how Willow really got to Dominik and how well they do match with each other. Now all I want is more of this hockey world!
Dominik is the sixth book of Sawyer Bennett’s ‘Arizona Vengeance’ series and with every new book, this series is getting better and better 🙂 Since first book of the series I was dying to get more of Dominik’s story. And finally here we are. Let’s see if I am going to be able to convey my thoughts without spoiling the story for you guys 🙂
Dominik Carlson is a self-made billionaire. He owns two professional sports teams Los Angeles Quakes (NBA) and Arizona Vengeance (NHL). He is smart, alpha, hot, loyal and caring. He is not like regular team owners, he is super hands-on and some might even call him noisy. I love how he gets out of his way to help his players out. Since the first book, he was always there for them and on this book what he did for Rafe was amazingly selfless. How Dominik helped Rafe by putting him first instead of acting like a businessman, made me respect and adore him more. Maybe it is because he lost his family at a young age and grew in foster care, his players are like a family to him and he is always there to support and help them. He is like a genie, works his magic and BOOM problem solved. But I believe his attitude is what brought him the success with Arizona Vengeance because his team also reflects him as well. Seeing how close Bishop, Erik, Legend, Tacker, Dax and Aaron was amazing. Them and their significant others are just like a family. First line brotherhood was too cute for words 🙂 So back to feisty hottie who deflects all his advances 🙂 Willow Monahan is smart, independent, confident and loyal. Since she already managed to get her heartbroken, she doesn’t want to be in a relationship. But what she doesn’t consider is, Mr. Carlson is not some one that accepts no for an answer. We saw the start of his relationship with Willow in previous book and he tenaciously pursuit Willow until he wears her down. It was fun to watch their fling to blossom and change to something amazing but of course with these two, there is some drama and action that follows.
There is only itsy bitsy tiny thing I didn’t like about this book and that is in some parts, it felt like the story was fast forwarded and made me feel like I skipped a chapter but other than that it was an amazing read. Also, while reading this I realized there is a crossover with Sawyer Bennett’s ‘Jameson Force Security’ series so of course I went and read the whole series. Why I even waited this long to do it is beyond me but it was a big mistake on my end, BIG. ‘Jameson Force Security’ is an amazing series and I cannot wait for the next book.
So back to ‘Arizona Vengeance’ and Dominik 🙂 Dominik was sexy, emotional, swoony story that you will devour. I cannot wait to read Rafe and Aaron’s stories next. If you are looking for a sweet, emotional and sizzling hot story, this book is just for you 🙂
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Of course I did 🙂
Would I read future books by this author: Yes
Heart in your throat emotion…
Oh, did this story come with surprises! Willow was going to keep any relationship with Dominik purely physical. End of story. Well, thank goodness that was nowhere close to reality! The owner of Arizona Vengeance had been wooing one of his star player’s sister since they first met and he didn’t let anything block him for long. Including Willow….
This author’s hockey romances are always at the top of my re-read pile and Willow and Dominik’s story explains exactly why. Even as I struggled with the lack of romance early on (or seemingly so), the heat between them spoke of so much more. Willow had been hurt and swore she never would be again. Dominik agreed but had a much different approach…
Dominik’s persistence was everything courtship should be and when push came to shove, he was there when she needed him the most. Oh yes, everything this story built towards came together in a dramatic conclusion that pushed this story from so, so good to oh my gawd, that was amazing!
I will never get enough of the Cold Fury and Arizona Vengeance players and their loving families and can’t wait for more… Please, please let there be much more!

I’ve been looking forward to this story since Dominik and Willow since they first showed up in previous books of this series. Dominik was the perfect combination of Alpha, Billionaire, and gentleman so basically every females perfect fantasy guy! Willow is what all women try to strive for, strong, loving and loyal. These two together are perfect once the walls were torn down and I loved every minute of their story. Christian Fox and Erin Mallon were perfect narrators for these characters and made it extremely hard to stop listening. I highly recommend this book to any and everyone!
From a young age, Dominik Carlson has had to learn to fight for what he wants; and what he wants now is a relationship with Willow Monahan. The two have slept together several times but Willow is reluctant to give him more than her body…
This, so far, is my favorite book in the series! Willow is so strong-willed, she’s a perfect match to the alpha male that is Dominik. Their witty banter was so much fun to listen to! Her independence and vulnerability (not to mention her stubbornness!) make her one very relatable character. This book also ties this series up with the Jameson Force Security series. I cannot wait to listen to the next books in both series!
Narrators Christian Fox and Erin Mallon did an excellent job. Their tones, emotions, and inflections made it seem like they actually became the characters they portrayed.
Dominik is a contemporary sports romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It’s a standalone that ends with an HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
This is the sixth book in the Arizon Vengeance Series, a Sport Romance. This Series is amazing. I was really happy to have Dominik’s story, and this is my favorite story in the Series! He is an alpha, and bossy man, owner of the Arizona Vengeance Hockey Team. Willow, Dax’s little sister, is an independent and strong woman. They share a strong chemistry, and they are great together. The story is fun, sexy, and beautiful. Christian Foy and Erin Mallon did a great job with the narration. I love their voices together. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.
I couldn’t wait for Dominik’s story. Loved how alpha Dominik is and the scorching hot chemistry between him and Willow. Christian Fox and Erin Mallon’s narration is spectacular. Definitely worth the listen
I like Willow!
Self-made billionaire owner of the Arizona Vengeance Dominik Carlson had been chasing journalist Willow Monahan for a while but she never gave him the time of day after they had spent one night together but he always was asking her brother Dax Monahan who was one of his star players about her. Willow decided to take a break from work and spend some time with Dax and at the same time see Dominik again. Dominik could have any woman he wanted but he decided that he wanted to see Willow and see where it took then because he wasn’t used to a family after spending time in a foster home growing up.
Dominik knew he wanted Willow but it would take a while for her to listen to her heart that takes time for her because she had been hurt before.
