A book about morals, limitations, trust, pain, lust, envy and pride.
There has rarely been a character created like Dave. Dave is really a one of a kind. His twisted sense of right and wrong is what drives this book.
Can someone really love someone and have myriad affairs behind their back?
Can a person who is led around by something other than his brain and indirectly lead to the deaths of many be truly respectable?
This book takes the reader on quite a ride and you follow along almost the way a driver slows when passing an accident…just to maybe see what has happened more clearly.
The conclusion of the book keeps the reader guessing.
The details of the intimate relations could be a touch disturbing to some. The violence in the book could be disturbing to some.
The bouncing back and forth from present to past to present to past is disturbing, at least, to this reader.
The book leaves the reader with questions and head scratching.
A read for those who enjoy a voyeuristic look into the seedier part of the internet and of man’s base desires. Interesting read that will keep the reader coming back for more.
My Rating: 4.5 stars

Somin8 is a book that keeps you guessing till the end, written well, great characters, and a storyline I found original. Well done, Mr. King, your reader J@AA.
Dave is a typical man with needs. When his wife of 26 years is no longer interested in him anymore, he turns to the Internet and chat rooms.
Dave is a fifty year old man, married for 26 years, their kids have moved out and his wife, who is no longer interested in him sexualy anymore. Dave turns to the Internet and sex chat rooms. Someone is setting Dave up to take a huge fall, when the women he hooks up with are turning up dead. The question is who would set him up? The story line pulled me in and I had to find out who did it. I did not see it coming.
Stephen B King’s writing pulls you in and doesn’t let you go till the end. It was a great read. I loved it. I recommend this book.
Terrific story where I did NOT figure out the ending beforehand! Characters were well rounded and easy to picture in my head. They’re actions always matched their personalities. Dialogue was tight and meaningful, except for at the end during a conversation with the “bad guy” that came off cliched and too Scooby Doo-ish.
Loved the background and world building! It was made clearly important to understanding Dave as a character. He’s not a great guy, and I loved how King demonstrated this without flinching. He’s actually a huge narcissist with addiction tendencies and little regard for others. I loved how King highlights Dave’s cringeworthy persona, while having Dave himself try to justify it all.
Some of my favorite lines:
““Anyway, the point is someone like me, of a certain age and maturity, who is successful, confident and has half-decent looks who advertises for women who wants to explore their submissive side safely, is not exactly short of takers. I get as much pleasure from making a woman orgasm as I do myself, and a lot of women find that unusual.””
“I don’t relate my unfaithfulness to not loving Dianne. If she had sex with other people the way I did, I would have left her; that’s the type of person I am. But I would like to think I never gave her cause to find it elsewhere, whereas it seemed as if Di didn’t care if I did, just so long as she never knew the details. ”
“Most women I’ve met in day -to-day life are more than willing to flirt back, and I believe they too love to be made to feel they are desirable.”
“Before my descent into a life of wild no-strings online sex, mostly I hadn’t and was faithful to my wedding vows, but over twenty-six years, on three occasions I did stray. That old hackneyed and well-worn cliché, they didn’t mean anything to me was never more accurate than in my case.”
I did not care for the switching of points of view from 3rd to 1st and who was talking through the story. It’s not wrong…I just find it jarring and it briefly pulls me from the story flow as I adjust. This is a personal issue for me.
I also loved that at the end, he had to be TOLD what redemption is! Did he find true redemption? Who knows. The man never knew when to quit and was a womanizer to The very end in my opinion. But I really enjoyed the Dave character as it’s rare to find a author committed to having his main male character true to end without some weird drastic personality change. Sometimes a douche goes through a lot of chaos and horrible experiences…but he’s still a douche.
Domin8 had me turning the pages through the night to finish. It’s not your typical book with a good guy and a woman. Dave is a 50 year old who loves women and sex. He is married and loves his wife of 26 years but his wife has no interest in a sex and they are mostly good friends so he begins a search of the internet for action when a tv show peaks his interest in the D/s lifestyle. He has no strings attached relations with numerous women. Dave becomes the prime suspect when two women are viciously murdered right after he leaves from their encounter. Fortunately, he has alibis and the 2 detectives (aka Starsky and Hutch) believe him but the search is on for the murderer. The suspects are many and kept me guessing. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I enjoyed his writing style. I will be reading more of his books. He made me sorta like a cheater and that’s a big accomplishment!
A very intriguing and twisty story. The murder-mystery and twists kept me flipping the pages.
Dave has discovered the online world, and things stayed hidden, until his world got turned upside down because of it. A murderous psychopath is close on his tail, but always just out of reach. Will they be able to catch him, before he hurts more close to Dave? You’ll have to read to find out.
Warning: this book does contain cheating, but if you are able to look past that, then I recommend this book.
There are twists and turns tht keep you guessing until the end. I could not put this thiller down, had to read to the end to solve the mystery and crime. Interesting characters that blend together to develop this story and add to the drama. Shows a part of internet life that could draw you in and turn your life upside down.
