My Hostage. Her Secret. Our Enemy.
Taking the commissioner’s daughter wasn’t part of the plan. It should have been an easy smash and grab. Instead I captured Lara, so scared and helpless… girl is an inferno, threatening to consume everything I hold dear.
She has a dark past, and an even darker purpose…
I’ll have to pry her secrets out of her. Before they destroy us both.
“Dom” is a dark mafia romance with a gothic twist, Book 4 in the Underworld series. It’s a stand-alone novel, full of mystery, danger, and blazing hot bedroom scenes. For mature readers only!!!
The Lark Notes:
Ivan’s little brother Dom is forced into an intense love with Lara. Look for the bonus epilogue with cameos from Ivan, Sloane, Sasha, and Snow. – Sophiemore
What a wonderful ending to a series. I was mesmerized from start to finish. There was nothing about this book that bored me. I loved Dom and Lara’s story. They have so much chemistry and devotion to each other. The love/sex scenes sizzle!! If you like romantic suspense, as I do, you can’t go wrong with this series. Wow, I loved Ash by Sophie Lark. Ash is not the first book I’ve read by Sophie Lark, and she has yet to disappoint me.
I love Lara and Dom, who embodies the perfect mafia family. Don’t get me wrong, neither are perfect, but they’re connection and loyalty to one another is something people dream about having.
I was immediately sucked into this story and transported into the mafia world. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a powerful, tatted alpha male.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This story was everything I wanted and more. Sadly this is the last book in this series, but what a way to end it all. Dom and Lara have a story that will capture your heart. He is the brother and right hand man to Ivan. She is the daughter of the man trying to take them down. When Lara and her father relocate for his police commissioner job, she sits alone at their home unless he is not working. Then one time at the station leaves her in the hands of the Bratva family. After Dom has her in his clutches, does he realize that he feels a strong connection to this woman. He cannot walk away from the temptation and ends up being her white knight one day. They both have secrets that should keep them firmly away from each other, but they need each other soul deep. Forbidden love is a story as old as time. Sophie gives us so much more in this book. The characters and storyline were so well done. You can feel all the emotions, from highs to lows. Thru all the turmoil, the heat between Lara and Dom is amazing. I highly recommend diving straight into this book. You will not be disappointed because Sophie wrote another amazing story! It will always be one of my favorites

The story, ’Ash: A Dark Mafia Romance,’ is the last book of an amazing series by Sophia Lark. In a lot of ways, this book comes full circle by including couples from previous books, like Sloan and Ivan, from Emerald (one of my favourites)! It was nice to ‘catch’ upon this powerful couple trying to be more domesticated, a ‘regular’ couple, but from ‘Ash’s’ ending, I don’t think Sloan could ever be ‘normal!’ Keeping in line with the previous tales, Ms. Lark loads the pages with delicious, slightly dark, mafia-themed theatrics, with suspense, intensity, hatred, obsession and steam strewed throughout. There are exciting and critical secondary characters that help keep the story a fast-paced page-turner.
Goodness and love can be found in the unlikeliest places
Colors of Crime Book 8: Ash by Sophie Lark is a well written Bratva romance with a bit darkness, a whole lot of discovery, wonder and new experiences. Lara and Dom “meet in a violent and frightening way then a chance encounter gives them the opportunity to get to know one another and sparks begin to fly.
The plot is intriguing and captivating, equally enthralling whether it was Lara’s plight, the sexual tension, danger, suspense or romantic discovery. I was hooked from the first as much by the story itself as well as by the characters. Dom is the perfect bad boy with a big, soft heart and Lara is his perfect counterpart in her innocence, curiosity and desire for more.
Overall, this Bratva romance is well written and exciting to read for multiple reasons that kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first word to the exciting, sweet and loving HEA.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
This is the final episode in the Color of Crime series but can be read as a stand alone book. Like the previous books in the series the characters are strong and well developed. The story line is captivating, suspenseful and pulls you in. Dominik and Lara have definite chemistry and are perfect for each other. After reading this one you’ll want to read the previous books in the series.

Once again, a perfectly written book. It is the final book in the series. Sophie has written two more wonderful characters. I liked how Dom and Lara met and how the story kept building from there. The story gives the reader everything to keep you interested from page one. There are hot couple moments and also plot twists and secrets. I loved every minute of this story. I also liked reading about some of the characters from other books, although this is a stand alone book.
I was so happy to see Ivan and Sloane again! Love them!
Dom & Lara were such a great couple brought together under interesting circumstances. When they “officially” met Dom was keeping a few secrets, but Lara had some of her own. This definitely kept me glued to this book. I felt broken-hearted for all that Lara had been through, but I loved Dom as her knight in shining armor! Their chemistry was both sweet and scorching! I really loved the epilogue. I’m just sad to see this series end!

I love the author and this one became my favorite of the serie.
The way Dom gave himself to the relation with Lara is so hot and romantic. And finding Ivan again is great.
Great reading, no doubt.

I couldn’t wait to read Ash, though I am completely sadden that this is the final book of the Color of Crime series; however, I know Sophie Lark will have more heart gripping reads coming our way.
Ash is an amazing end to an amazing series!! Mrs. Lark has brought us another captivating and compelling story. Dom and Lara are strong, courageous characters and I love seeing the trust they have in one another. Lara brings out the softer side of Dom and I love that. I enjoy reading about an H that you know is tough and feared by most and becomes completely enamored by the right women. I adore how patient, caring, and possessive he is with Lara. I just love Dom period.
It was great to see characters from previous books make an appearance in Ash and to see how things are going for them. I think that helps give closure to the series. We get to find out what Ivan and Sloane have been up to, and if Snow and Sasha have made their dreams come true.
Sophie Lark is an incredible author, and she pulls me in every single time. Her writing makes it so easy to become fully immersed in the story. The entire Colors of Crime series is phenomenal, and I highly recommend not only this series but her other books as well.
A big thank you Sophie Lark for bringing us into your world of the Bratva and the women they love so fiercely!!

I read a lot of books, but Sophie Lark’s books are to be savored. ASH is one of those books that the reader becomes immersed in and I found it particularly satisfying that two of my other favorite COLORS OF CRIME books were connected to ASH – EMERALD and SNOW (in the epilogue).
Dom is unexpected as a Bratva leader. Everything about his time with Lara is about his gentleness, his devotion, and doing literally anything for her.
Lara has one really gigantic secret, but part of the enjoyment in reading about these two is there is real honesty and it isn’t long before they trust one another so well that every secret comes to light. So their love is drama free, but the other circumstances of their lives make up for it.
I must mention that the quality of Sophie Lark’s writing sets her books apart from many others. The dialogue is seamless and the descriptions creative and colorful. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

This is the final book in this series and it’s brilliant. The two main characters are just right for each other, both have some darkness in their lives, together they are strong and determined. It’s a wonderful story.
What an epic and all consuming finale to an incredible series! Ash by Sophie Lark is the eighth and final book in the Colors of Crime series and is intriguing, action packed, and riddled with heat! I love Sophie Lark’s writing style, in that it’s incredibly well researched, intricately composed, and hot enough to burn up your kindle! She brought that and more in Ash.
I loved the sensitive and reverent side we get from the ruthless right hand of the Petrov Bratva we saw in Emerald. Also loved getting an extra taste of my favorite Colors of Crime couple – Ivan & Sloane.
Get ready for an intense and violent ride, hot enough to burn up your kindle! Read the captivating conclusion today! xo
This is the final book in the Colors of Crime series. I’m sad to say that I haven’t read any of the previous books, because I really loved this one! The location is St Petersburg, Russia. Dominik Petrov is the younger brother of Ivan (book 5, Emerald), head of the Petrov Bratva. Dom has a job that is thwarted by the new police chief, Pavel Erdeli, who is also the father of the woman he falls in love with. There are secrets and twists & turns in this story, the threat of danger constantly looms, and revenge must be had. Honestly, I had to put my kindle down a couple of times as the tension ramped up! My first read by this author, and I’ll be catching up on this series soon.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
The story line was great, the character work was terrific and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was another great addition to the series and this book kept me hooked from beginning to end.

This was my first book by Sophie Lark and I was bummed I just caught this series at the end. While I enjoyed the book I wished I had started at the beginning of it all but that is just my preference. I love a good mafia story and this book was all about Dom and Lara. For two people who shouldn’t be together they were great as a couple! After finishing I need to add the rest of the series to my tbr!
3.5
I enjoyed this whole series and gladly recommend it. But unfortunately I didn’t like this final book as much as I hoped.
Since Dom is Ivan’s brother, I expected this one too be more focused on mafia and a bit darker.
I also found the blurb a bit misleading, it hinted to a different direction in storyline.
Dom also wasn’t really my type of hero. He almost seemed too sweet at times. But Lara was great and really strong female character.
I liked the extended epilogue and now that this series is finished I can’t wait to see what’s next!

When even the biggest secrets cannot keep you apart
This book can be read as a standalone although it forms part of the Colors of Crime series. The story’s focus is on the romance and less so on the mafia part. It is also not “dark” as some books in this genre tend to be. It is a love story between two incongruous characters – a Bratva and the police commissioner’s daughter. The relationship between Lara and Dom blooms slowly but surely. The secrets that both keep makes for a bumpy road to their HEA.
In all a well written book, romantic story and good entertainment for an afternoon read.

I enjoyed this book and getting to know Dom some more outside his family in the Bratva. I enjoyed their family dynamic a lot, but when he was with Lara, we got to see a more sensitive side to him. Lara and Dom meet in an unusual way since he kind of kidnaps her for a few minutes and then later we see them meeting again, but they both have secrets they are keeping. There were surprises that I saw coming then there were a few that shocked me and I didn’t see coming at all. It was action packed and full of hot steamy alpha-ness that Dom was perfection for. They both brought out the best in each other and helped each other see things from different perspectives. I really loved how supportive, protective, and loyal Dom was to not only Lara but his whole family. Another great read in this series.
while out lara is assault and ash comes to her rescue little does each know that she is the daughter of the newly appointed police commissioner and his family is bratva very powerful and dangerous family. This was a excellent twist and turns read and I loved every moment of it
